"Everyone please evacuate," Khione spoke as she passed a few stunned freshman. Surrounded by the Katobeasts, she sliced a line out of the circle and was joined by Cecelia. In the distance, she could hear Bowle ordering a clear and definite retreat to some stubborn freshman and juniors who believe that this was all part of the training.

"Anyone who doesn't leave this field in 5 minutes is going to be expelled! Do I make myself clear?" His voice boomed, worrying the seniors involved as well.

Five minutes.

Khione glanced at Cecelia who was by her side and the other seniors who stood their ground.

"We have five minutes to eliminate all threats," she said, relieved to see more students run off the fields but not quite letting that relief fully sink in yet. Her eyes met Cecelia's, clear and set-gazed.

"Cover me."

Was all she said as she ran forward in a sudden burst of speed. With a heavy wave of her scissor blade, everything in its direction pierced ice straight into the Katobeasts which dared to jump at them.

With another wave, another large shoot of ice but each movement was delayed by a few seconds, like a batter hitting a heavy swing. The Katobeasts which managed to jump over the wave of ice shot were left in Cecelia's care. Khione could only hope to trust her junior's skills from keeping an angry Tenebrae from landing on her head.

Well, this was... New. His head felt strangely light, like there was nothing in it. Babe, huh? Zander shook his head, more violently than he'd intended, throwing his dark, messy locks into disarray. Something was off. Immediately, he could feel like. Like a probe inside his mind, rooting around in places it didn't belong. It was foreign, unfamiliar, but at the same time, he felt like welcoming it in like an old friend. It felt soft, and warm. Inviting.

"Don't flatter yourself," he began, even as a warmth was starting to grow in his chest, working its way up til his cheeks felt flushed, despite his best attempts to fight off this new wave of sensation. That was another thing, he wasn't sure that he wanted to fight them. Did he? Think. This isn't real. His brain felt like it was swimming in his skull. Zander remembered watching a nature documentary once about the ocean. How there was this one fish, a predator, that lured its prey in with warm, enticing lights. In his mind, this felt a little like that. All the same, though, he felt his grasp slipping, like sand through his fingers.

"You know, it's hard to tell if your mental defenses are low or if you've just got a thing for me already,"

He felt himself respond, but wasn't sure if the words were his, or if the voice that spoke them even belonged to him anymore. "Maybe it's a bit of both." Despite the sheer obviousness of it all, he'd fallen for the ruse. Hook, line and sinker. Then the unexpected happen, and just in the nick of time, too. Any longer and Zander figured he'd have been a puddle of goo on the floor. BOOM! At the speed of instinct, Zander was on his feet. He hadn't realized he'd been leaned so far forward in his chair, nearer to Kai. Zander felt an infusion of sudden clarity come over him, like someone had dumped a bucket of ice water on his head. Eyes sharp once more, he scanned the room for the source of the sound that had left his ears still ringing. Then he spotted Jas, and followed the trail of smoke with his eyes to the gaping hole in the wall.

"Jas, what..." Dumbfounded by the sight, Zan took a breath as his still frazzled brain struggled to piece together what had to have happened. As to why, he couldn't hazard a guess. But he intended to find out. "The Hell are you doing?"

I see a bad moon a-rising
I see trouble on the way
I see earthquakes and lightnin'
I see bad times today
Φ
Don't go 'round tonight
It's bound to take your life
There's a bad moon on the rise

• Jasmine Bermout •
Seeing the gaping hole left in the wall, Jasmine sighed to see nothing change visibly in the classroom. Not even Wolfe looked the slightest surprised, choosing to simply stand there at his desk with a brow raised in skeptic judgment. Maybe it wasn't an illusion after all, Jasmine thought, refusing to let the disappointment show on her visage.

"It's, um, nothing," the redhead student who approached her mumbled out before quickly returning to her seat. She looked pale and unamused; like someone who's questioning their life decisions and trying to live through them. While her expression did cause some concern, seeing how she wasn't in Genesis kept her out of Jasmine's range of care, so she chose not to question.

"Ah, testing the limits of reality," Jasmine replied to Zander by quoting Professor Wolfe's words. "Seems like I failed though," she muttered the last part under her breath with a click of her tongue.

Seeing how all eyes were on her, she realized the responsibility which needed to be taken as consequence for her actions. Smile on face, she turned to Bobbi and Zander, "Looks like we'll have to execute Operation Z," she said to them.

Operation Z was a plan Genesis used to get away with messy situations that could possibly taint the image and name of the Genesis house. It involved Bobbi using her sleep anima (hence the Z) on all those involved and their eyewitnesses to fall asleep, which gave Zander and Jasmine the time to convince them that it was all a dream or a figment of their imagination.

An exasperated sigh left Lance’s lips followed by a kick of the dirt beneath his feet. The battle: one on two. Not exactly fair but Lance had no doubt in his mind that the two would be unable to take down the Teacher; after all that was why they were the Teacher right? Because they had proved themselves above most other people. Or some other kind of shit like that. Lance hadn’t the time, or energy to really think about it in to much detail at the moment.

Lance was awake; out of his comfortable dark hole that he called a bed. While this was interesting, battles and what-not, he hadn’t truly got out of bed to just be a spectator had he? He had a partner but they were off watching to enthralled by the fight to notice. Nope, he supposed he should just be glad he wasn’t the one fighting up there. At least not yet.

Taking a step back he sighed slightly annoyed, but with a slight bored tone.

That was until he noticed a very tall fellow make his way towards Lance. Someone who, Lance having known at least most people by first name even if not properly introduced, went by the name of Curtis. Ex-Syndicate Leader to boot. The aura of intimidation emitted off the man, hitting Lance in the face. The quick glance of his eyes on the mechanical arm; he was sizing him up.

It might have hit him but a grin, nothing intimidating, a pleasant grin to match the man's head tilt and battle provocation.

“Well, how can I refuse? We are to spare each other are we not?” Lance took his hands out of his pockets turning to face Curtis properly. “Names Lance, unsure if we have been properly introduced. I know your face but, well, I can hardly be a face people remember.” What a lie, all remember the metal armed boy. The glint of the metal shining in the sun is the last you see as you realize you lost something special. Never to see it again; unless paying the right price.

Such is the life of a thief.

Rolling up his sleeves now, he prepared for the battle, Lances eyes took note of Curtis’s strong stance--he was stronger then Lance. He would have to use that against him. No problem, while he hated to lose, Lance did enjoy a good duel as long as it was under his control. He liked control, something he craved.

“Manners matter, apparently. That’s what my mother had said once upon a time. Should we do the ol' count to three routine or just start throwing punches?” Lance smirked, he was being cocky again.

This could be bad.

But it was so much fun.

Curtis rose his brows at the mention of manners. Having grown up in a family made up of men, he learned to communicate mostly with actions and demeanor than soft-spoken words. Being in syndicate only aided to that mindset: Real men talk with their fists. (Which honestly wasn't the healthiest way to grow up)

"Curtis," he answers briskly in reply, "Since we're talking about manners here, I'll give you first move."

It was cocky but he had the skills to back up his confidence. A wolvish smirk crossed his features as he made a come hither movement with his hands. His stance, though casual, was on guard.

The two combatants stood a meter away from each other. In the background, Catherine was taking opponents down like a pastime.

Kaye’s eyes scanned the group of students. Most paired off right away. Mostly with friends but a few rivals could be seen giving sneers to one another, with something to prove. Kaye could pair off too, it wasn’t like she didn’t have a hard time finding a partner. She just liked to look for the people who seemed to be unsure, needed a partner. That was the nice way of getting to know someone, right?

Kaye liked to thinks so anyways.

Her brown orbs looked once more scanning before hearing a sudden crack of something hitting another object hard. Catching only a glimpse of a young, male student holding his face, two tears falling from his eyes, the mother hen clicked inside Kaye and she thought about going over there but before she could she was cut off by a women, blonde pretty oozing confidence with her stance and walk.

Kaye straightened her back looking to the women before smiling up at her. The young boy still lingered in her mind but she pushed it aside, it was a class and wounds were part of getting stronger. Kaye knew this. Wouldn’t be the first black eye and wouldn’t be the last.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you Usha! I’m Kaye Nightingale!” Reaching forward she took the woman's hand, shaking it before dropping it. “Are you looking for a sparring partner? I am in need of one if you are as well.” Kaye spoke tilting her head ever so slightly to the side in a questioning manner.

“Right, Curtis. The name was on the tip of my tongue. Apleasure.” He smirked once again shaking his head, staring at the ground a moment before rubbing his chin. He had wanted a battle, and here he was about to get one. Catherine was busy kicking the other students asses, which was to be expected he supposed. Now it was his turn to fight.

His blood started to pump and gave a little bow before deciding on his move. Curtis’ defense was up, he waited to see what kind of fighter Lance was. Well, two could play at that game.

“May the best man win.”

Which better be me.

The words left his mouth before moments he took a quick step work, rushing towards Curtis going into full attack. If he was being defensive, he would be on the offence. With a swing of his metal arm he aimed for not Curtis face but for his chest. A larger target then a head and even if he moved quickly, which Lance knew he would, he wasn’t sure why. There was no hint of what Anima he had but that sharp grin had showed fangs.

Some kind of animal. A fast one he believed.

At Curtis first move to do damage Lance used his own Anima, the punch passing through his body while Lance used the moment to strike him hard in the chest sending him back a few feet. “Nice move.” Lance cracking his neck oh this was fun.

• Curtis Laucron•
"He talks a lot," Curtis thought, grunting in response to the male's comment. "Let's hope his fists move as well as his mouth does." A thought which was quickly affirmed as the Pandoran male managed to land not just one but two solid hits to the male. Even with his reflexes doubled, Curtis was unable to stop the inertia from his own attack but it took him off guard to see his own punches faze through Lance.

"Motherfucker," he cursed, grimacing with a grin. The hits hurt but it wasn't enough to do damage. Being a chimeran gave him heightened skills and one of the perks was a quicken regeneration ability. His defenses were solid and his offenses pack a punch, despite being lagged down by the sheer amount of force in each swing he throws.

Even if he can't hit Lance now, there's bound to be a time where the Pandoran messes up and should Curtis land a hit, the damage would be visible. The silver wolf wasn't the ex vice-president of Syndicate in name. His power drilled respect into the members of his affiliation, leaving none to question him even when he did something as unspeakable as stepping down from his position.

Quickly back on his feet, Curtis lunged forward with a violent barrage of clawed punches. The nails on his fingers grew arched into strong claws, sharp enough to claw through any material which he touched (should he be able to touch) and even dent or scratch the metal on Lance's arm. He gave no room for Lance to strike back until the male fazed away from his grasp through his anima but by then Curtis had already caught on, jumping back into a safe range, arms raised in anticipation for a counter attack.

Cece listened attentively to the orders and checked her wristwatch. Her left hand grew heavy holding the gun by her side. Her fingers shifted in a grip. Her steady gaze stared down the Katobeasts. It flickered to Khione's lips, reading while she spoke then gets caught by her eyes.

"Cover me." Then the babe was gone, wielding her deadly ice. It takes a blink to register and Cece aimed on task to watch her back. She shot two bullets rhythmically with each prey. The first at the tenebris that tried to interfere with Khione's barrage and two others that jumped out lucky.

Ha, how lucky are they now.

The Pandoran trailed after her senior, with enough space between them for her not to be in the way. One leaped, swiped for the shoulder. Cece side stepped just barely, a scratch mark, before it splatters. Fired above their heads, ink rained down. All the while, a grin is plastered wide on her face, not from sheer excitement of battle. But a close up witness of a real Magister, the closest person to her father. Between the gunshots she admired remnants of ice, pillars and shards.

She wasn't capable of such a large scale attack-- the effort and training that must've taken!

The last shells dropped, Cece holstered and kicked the fang baring monkey that rushed onto her. Her ankle hurts. Though wonder about that fire... Cece curled her palms and watched the Katobeast falter. Again through gritted teeth, stronger-- it popped, exploded. Her eyes widened and she paused, holding on to a clenched fist.

Bowle reminded everyone to get out. Khione does the same.

She placed a hand on Cece's back. "Come on."

They left the grounds together, with the brunette trying to work past the slight hobble.

Cece realised she hadn't uttered a word during that fight. For compensation, she looked at her aftermath options: muse about the situation, pat herself on the back or ask questions. But she decided on something else.

"Hey, you were amazing back there." she said, "Like really amazing."

Kaye Nightingale Sasil Sasil || Classroom 2B || "So much of effort needed."

She could feel the eyes of many glancing her way, or to be placed bluntly, burning into the back of her head as her 'little' incident has probably made an impression on everyone's minds. Just wait until they found out she was their beloved Pandora president's little sister.

Usha Kershaw had to admit that the female she walked up to was quite the beauty. She might be rude but her eyes were functioning well. Plus, lying wasn't her cup of tea. She enjoyed the many expressions, from amusement to anger, whenever she spewed over any truth, harmful or not. It was mostly the former though. Not to mention, Kaye was so far the only person who held out her hand first to be shaken. Everyone else were too 'laid back' to do that but Usha saw it as a sign of character.

"You're pretty, Kaye." the blond said bluntly as the ends of her mouth tipped up to form a small grin before she folded her arms and gestured to Wolfe. "Sparring might be nice but Wolfe has assigned us to break through this 'illusion' of his. I doubt fighting each other would break us out of it unless either one of us are an illusion." She said nonchalantly before looking around the classroom.

At that exact moment, a loud BOOM! could be heard from the side of the classroom and everyone was met with the sight of two redheads and a blond staring into the hole, let alone damage, in the wall.

"What the fuck?" Usha Kershaw said aloud to no one in particular before smirking to herself. It looked as though her affiliation president was behind the wonder.

She then turned to Kaye before asking, "Have any ideas besides blowing the whole place up? I'll be down for it though."

The blond could also see from the corner of her eye, Harry Wolfe shaking his head to himself as he takes a seat at the teacher's table, "Should have taken the other job offer."

Dilated pupils, increased heart rate, a change in demeanor - it definitely seemed to Kai that his anima was working. A sense of pride began to swell within him. He loved seeing the effect he had on people, even if it was artificially created. He continued working away, feeling the boy's mental barriers weaken further. It was like playing with play-doh: easily malleable, but still retaining its shape. Sometimes, people felt like concrete; other times, like syrup. The corners of his lips curled up into a knowing smile in response to the pretty boy shaking his head. He rested his head in the palm of his hand, soaking in every second of it. He liked the idea of the older boy liking him, though he knew very well that it was manufactured. In reality, he felt very torn about his abilities. One part of him thought that, if he tried, he could flirt his way into Zander's heart, or at the very least his pants. Another part of him felt that they only way he ever got people to like him was through his anima and that no one would otherwise care. He'd gotten better at shutting that part up over the years, but it still lingered.

"Maybe it's a bit of both."

Kai tilted his head to the side, leaning forward a bit as if intrigued by the response. It wasn't a disappointing response by any means, but he was curious as to how much of it was true. He realized now that his own face was mere inches from Zander's and his own heart began to beat a little faster. He wasn't nervous. He was too cool to get nervous. Strong, pretty boys like Zander being this close to his face didn't make him lose his composure. He was nothing but calm, cool, and collected. It totally wasn't getting harder to breathe. Malachai Walker made people feel like this, not the other way around. Zander Munroe sitting across from him with his tousled dark hair and bronzed skin and that stupid dimple.... what had his point been? His thoughts got more muddled and, just as he was about to close the gap and actually kiss the older boy, someone just had to burn a hole in the wall. Kai's concentration snapped, releasing any hold he had over Zander, which felt a bit like whiplash. He felt a great deal of disappointment. The brunette groaned and leaned back in his chair. "For fuck's sake," he muttered to himself, crossing his arms over his chest and tossing a look to the source of the damage. Jasmine. Genesis President. Protector of those weak looking kids. Ruiner of good moments. Kai ran his fingers through his hair, regaining a look of general disinterest. He quickly reverted to his normal composure, as if nothing had ever happened. The hole in the wall wasn't exactly mindblowing as he had seen kids do worse other times they'd done this experiment.

At the mention of a plan Z, the Syndicate boy raised an eyebrow. Z as in... Zander? If so, he definitely had something in common with Jasmine because he was making his own plan Z as in Zander. He was pretty sure their plans were, however, drastically different. His eyes flickered between Jasmine and Zander. What were they going to do to implement this plan of theirs? Glancing around the room, he saw other kids doing strange things to break out of the illusion. Kai had been wrapped up in his own endeavor that he'd nearly forgotten what their main goal was. Each time he'd done this exercise, he'd gotten out with a different method. It wasn't easy no matter how many times he'd gone through it. His own anima didn't lend itself readily to illusion destruction. He had to do something ridiculous that he wouldn't believe could happen if the illusion were real. Jasmine had been on the right track with blowing a hole through the wall except he guessed that she didn't completely believe that it'd be impossible in reality. His best thought would be running away from the academy; he fully believed that that was impossible in reality. But that required running and work and leaving the room, which were too much work, so he waited for a better idea to come to mind that he could try in the room itself.

"Kaye," he called, "punch me in the face."

It was something he didn't believe could happen in reality.

It was a bold move to defy Bowle's orders. The promise of expulsion was not a light threat to make and asking Cecelia to cover her meant that Khione would be responsible if and should they get expelled. But getting expelled wasn't on the Asian's check list and thus, she worked quickly to complete the task in hand.

Still, her actions probably surprised the few (or many) who knew her. Most would've expected the ideal prefect to have followed orders but her silent rebellion proved true that she was in fact a Syndicate at heart.

Due to the short time limit, she had over-exterted herself just a fraction, having not given herself enough time in between each anima attack. Her breath fogged slightly but the cold in her arms gradually went away as she caught her breath.

Once the field was cleared, she met Bowle's eyes and they nodded at each other in mutual understanding. The students continued to shuffle away while the other staff came rushing forward to inspect the broken furnace and turn clean up the mess left behind.

How did the Tenebrae get there? What were they doing on the school's campus? Such questions swamped her mind as the danger of the event finally sunk in. If Tenebrae can pop in anytime as they pleased, even in the Academy... what does that mean for the students? Was it really all a practice drill or merely an accident? There was much to be resolved.

"Hey, you were amazing back there." A voice said beside her, "Like really amazing."

Snapped out of the own train of thought Khione was stunned, unsure of how to reply. She's not used to being faced with compliments and usually withers away at attention given.

"Ah.. haha th-thank you," she answers meekly, ducking her head in modesty. Her attention is quickly caught by the limp in Cecelia's walk and her expression changes into one of worry and guilt.

"Oh no! You're hurt. W-we should get you to see the nurse," Khione frets, blaming herself for the injury. Cecelia was merely a second year and yet Khione dragged her into such a dangerous mess! Asking her to cover her and such. Oh Goddess, what was she thinking?

"Professor! I'll be taking Cecelia to the ward. Um, if anyone else is injured please follow this way," she calls out to the line of students who were retreating back to the classrooms. Some left their group to follow but luckily most injuries received did not exceed bruises or small cuts. Cecelia was one of the unluckier few.

"Here, you can use my arm as support," Khione offers, helping the brunette towards the nurse's office.

By the time they reach, there is a mini line formed outside the door, all of them were students from Physik's training class. Khione spies a familiar blonde duo as they exit the office, newly bandaged and she tries not to flinch when they greet her. Years of pranks has made her automatic reflex to avoid them. Every member from the Pandoran trio were trouble...

When it's finally their turn to go in, Nurse Aaron turns around with his usual scowl in face. The look used to scare her when she was new, but now she knows that his face naturally scrunches up in a threatening manner when he's worried or stress.

Seating Cecelia down on one of the chairs, Aaron asks, "What's the problem?" Khione lingers behind as he exams her injury, unsure of how else she could help.

Pathetic. Quinn rebuffed Jack's attacks one by one. When he'd finished his half-hearted combo, she repaid him for his efforts by delivering a sharp strike to his side with the haft of one of her blades. If you're going to come at me, she thought to herself as she prepared to put him on his back, at least have the decency to try. She was about to attack, when a sudden diversion forced her on the defensive.

Through gritted teeth, Quinn parried a warp-strike from the Pandoran boy, only to have to quickly switch focus to Jack. Back and forth. She felt like they were playing ping-pong and she was the ball. Luckily for her, their coordination left much to be desired, but despite that, their combined efforts were proving uncannily effective. Quinn felt herself losing ground.

Stay calm, she reminded herself when she felt a pit start to from in her stomach at the thought of being overwhelmed. They're amateurs. Wait for them to make a mistake. You know they will. She played on the defensive for a while, even earning a few scuffs from a few stellar hits. The untrained observer might think she was on the brink of a loss, until she sprung her counter-attack.

Dispelling her blades in preparation for the teleporting Pandoran boy's next move, Quinn conjured up a bolas - a throwing weapon used most commonly for capturing animals - and flung it with precision at the boy's legs.

From there, with the odds turned squarely in her favor, Quinn was free to unload on the lone Pandoran Prefect, and turn her defensive stance around. Now it was her turn to press the attack, launching blow after blow in the hopes of putting him down in the time it would take the Pandoran boy to untangle the bolas from around his legs.

Before Cece could further show her fangirlness-- how she watched Khione's exams or how her combat persona was one of the most badass things she's ever since-- she was cut short. She took a glimpse down at her injury, tried placing it flat before giving up and held it by the ball of her foot. "Wait-" She wanted to say she was fine, she could walk. Somewhat.

She glanced at the round of classmates gathered behind the Elite. Guess it wouldn't hurt to get to the ward and have it checked. Ha, she cracks herself up sometimes.

Cece accepted the offer and eased herself on Khione's small frame. She murmured a small thanks and tried not to shift her weight too much.

Huh, there's a line already. On the first day. Did the same thing happen to them?

After a while, she's sat down with her boot removed. "Tenebrae showed up and I kicked one. It's not that bad." she explained.

"What's with you and your legs?"

"Hey!" she said with a grin. It was true though; that she wasn't much of a kicker. She's been in the same position a few times, here specifically in front of Aaron examining her foot, ankle or knee. All mostly from reckless behaviour during quests.

Cece can't help herself. It's just that whenever she sees a tenebris, she just has to, kick it.

"Tenebrae? In the classroom?" Aaron begins massaging and pressed on the injury, which she responds with a hiss. "Stop moving."

"Yeah, it was weird." she responded through gritted teeth. The nurse finally stopped causing anymore discomfort and grasped his palm against the core of the pain, the small glow of his insignia against her skin.

She looked up at her senior. "Why do you think they showed up, Khione?"

Nurse Aaron grunted and allowed her to put her shoe back on. "Whatever, the reason, don't go jumping in danger. You girls take care of yourself." Cece got out of the chair and made way for the next student, following the path back out.

Eliza had not been expecting for anyone to try and talk to her, especially given the subject they seemed to be studying. The genesis prefect had never excelled in classes that involved the mind and asked her to use the powers she despited so horribly for a good grade. It was surprising, to tay the least, when Ophelia of all people approached Eliza and asked if she wanted to partner up.

"You want to be my partner?" Eliza asked, quite puzzled. The brunette's eyebrow arched as she tried to remember the blonde's anima while, unbeknownst to her, the blonde was doing the same to her. Being a genesis prefect, Eliza had only bothered to remember the animas of the people in her house in order to help them. She couldn't help but feel a bit intimidated after noticing Ophelia wasn't one of the students in her so-called "shitty powers club." Which meant she could potentially be dealing with someone rather powerful. Then again, she had gotten over Jasmine's monster trainings with only a few burns on her back. If she could face off against whatever monster Jasmine came up with, she could partner up with Ophelia.

Right?

"Sure! Might be fun!" Eliza replied with a bright smile on her face, standing up from her current seat and moving closer to the space the other students were currently occupying. She might be intrigued, and slightly wary, of the girl's anima, bur it didn't mean she had to treat her poorly because of it.

"C´mon Oph, can I call you that? Doesn't matter, show me what you've got?" asking her new partner to go first was a bit of a strategical move on Eliza's part. She'd arrived quite late to the lesson and had only caught small moments of the objective, but still knew she was missing some information. By having Ophelia go first, she would not only find out what Ophelia's anima was, but she could also fully understand the concept and objective of the activity. Elizabeth didn't want to admit she was lost, as she was certain Professor Wolfe wouldn't take to kindly to that and neither would the other members of Genesis. So, rather than accept defeat, Eliza tried her best to overcome her hardships some other way. Wether those other and more complicated methods worked was another story.

A question to her question was not the answer she had been looking for and almost instantly, the blonde regretted extending an invitation. Maybe this girl is just an idiot.

Smile in place, Ophelia nodded, recognizing that scrutinize look on Eliza's face---the same look people give when she alters their memory, leaving them confused and searching for something that is long gone and stolen. Eliza must've been trying to figure out what her anima is, which means she was late enough to have missed the whole demonstration between her, Kai and Persephone. It's was perfect.

That is, until Eliza called her 'Oph' so casually, she almost responded in a slapping her on reflex. The smile on her face strained as she held back some biting remarks. ("Who do you think you are you little rat, calling me Oph as though we know each other when we barely do. You should be grateful I'm still talking to you right now. If it weren't for your pathetic..." You get the idea.)

"Sure. Can you distract Wolfe while I break us out of his illusion then?" she asked, sliding out an ornate silver letter knife from her sleeve.

Not exactly one to be known for her skills in weaponry, Ophelia can say with confidence that she had mastered the use of her Regalia long before it even became a regalia. It twirled in her hand as she got up from her seat, approaching Wolfe with two slow steps before lunging forward to stab nick him with her regalia. As expected from a trained Magister, Wolfe dodged the moment the attack came his way but the quick, sharp strikes continued, pushing the Professor back as he had nothing in hand to counter.

His dodging had a split second lag and lacked the grace of an On-field Magister. Clearly his talents did not lie in physical combat but he was still able to evade Ophelia without much trouble. Now should be the time Eliza stepped in and helped the Syndicate out. If she didn't, maybe changing targets wouldn't be so bad. If she couldn't kill Wolfe, surely he wouldn't let her kill another student. Or would he?

Kaye Nightingale
Interactions: Usha Makomin Makomin

Kaye took note of the illusion that had appeared before them. She supposed her direction had suddenly been tipped by the sudden punch she heard, or perhaps she was off her game today. Oddly she wasn’t embarrassed. Shaking it off she instead focused her attention back on her new friend; Usha.

A blunt women, Kaye could figure that out. Her eyes seemed to scan Kaye completely from top to bottom and while that was a way to cause Kaye a little distress she pushed that aside. Usha was being nice, women hardly compliment each other. More the opposite, tearing each other down to gain confidence. It was nice to hear something like that. Already, Kaye liked this girl.

“Thank for the compliment.” Kaye spoke nodding her head, the smile not leaving her dainty face. Following Usha’s gaze they looked around the room. To get out of an illusion one had to try to figure what was real and what was not. It could be tricky, but you just had to think ahead.

The crack followed by the boom was certainly something to cause a distraction. Kaye’s head snapped to look towards the sound seeing three students staring in perhaps slightly confused.

“Performing something that would never happen in reality would trigger getting out of this illusion.” Kaye mumbled to herself tapping her chin. What could the two of them do, purposely hilarious or crazy to get out?

‘Kaye! Punch me in the face!’

The words caught her off guard and she looked towards the sound of the voice. Who would ask her to punch them in the face? That was abused! Kaye would never punch someone..unless it was litteral life and death.

“That could work.” Kaye spoke it clicking in her mind. In reality she would never punch someone, but here?

"Ow," Rob muttered into the dirt, but of course no one could hear him, other than his best friend, also lying in the dirt. It was as good a result as they could have hoped for, he was just glad she didn't break his nose or anything. She must have been feeling merciful today. He tried to push himself up, but a foot on his back pushed him back down and knowing not to coming with the she-devil, he kept his mouth shut as she asked for someone to call for the nurse. He could hear a few people giggling in the background and hoped the display hadn't been too embarrassing. The most injured part of him was definitely his pride, though the rest of his body ached for sure from the fall after Catherine had smacked him right on the nose, stunning him back into human form.

Ah, and here was Nurse Aaron. Rob still wasn't sure why he wouldn't find them someone to help them out with their -er- extracurricular activities, but figured the man probably took his cover very seriously. Too seriously if you asked Rob. What was the point of an undercover man if he was too deep in the act to actually do anything. On some particularly wild nights, he actually considered that the man might not be part of the mafia. He had a good laugh about it with Uriah the next day. There was no way this guy wasn't mafia. Rob sulked most of the way to the ward, nursing his bruised ego.

Once there their grumpy caretaker instructed them to sit and don't move. Then he disappeared out of sight behind a white curtain.

"Hey," he whispered to Uriah, starting to grin. "Think we can use this to skip the next class? Uh," he turned to his right to see that Nurse Aaron was back, arms folded and glaring at him, unamused. "I mean. Owwwww," he groaned, lying back dramatically. "It hurts so muuuuch. Help meeeeee Aarooooon. You're my only hooooope."

Bobbi pouts when Jas flicks her forehead. "There's always time for sleep," she says. But not right now apparently, as Wolfe decided to go ahead with what he always did. It was almost like dreaming, these illusions Wolfe made, except a touch more realistic. Though she supposed he could always make it a little crazy if he wanted to. She wondered if anyone would do anything interesting this time, it usually took a while before the rest of the class started to test the limits of reality. Bobbi would swear their teacher said those exact words every time. Hopefully there'd be more explosions in this session. "I've got a trick to get around it," she replied with a wink.

She looked up as as someone approached the two of them Jasmine moved, barely batting an eye at the searing heat as a blazing ball of magma shot by and melted one of the walls. "Hi," she said to the newcomer, taking a guess at what she said over the sound of Jasmine burning though school infrastructure. "I don't know you do I?" The detail in these things was always quite impressive. It was almost real. Or was it actually real? Well for her there was always one sure way of testing it, as she had discovered a couple of years back. Jas turned back to her, looking slightly worried and muttering something about 'testing the limits of reality'. It was a catchy phrase. Zander was panicking now too - but then again it was his first arcane class. He probably wasn't used to his best friend just blowing shit up.

"Relax, Jas," she said soothingly, tugging her wrist gently to sit back down . While she was proud that Jas apparently thought she had the ability to make everyone here fall asleep, she didn't think it'd be wise. Operation Z had to be kept a secret, and while she could definitely make the weaker of their peers doze off there would be enough resisting it to make it risky. Besides, she wasn't quite sure it all wasn't an illusion yet. Turning to look at Mr Wolfe, who was thankfully standing rather close to them, she concentrated on her anima. The man stared back impassively with his usual stern face of disapproval, and when she didn't get so much as a yawn even at her best shot (which left her feeling very sleepy herself) she relaxed.

Bobbi never knew if he approved of this method of checking his illusions, but he never said anything other than his usual terse comments whenever she slipped out this way so she figured it was fine. Her mischievous side was tempted to just go with the flow and see what happened next, especially when she heard a voice asking someone else to punch him in the face, but she had only just started talking to Jasmine again. While she was relieved that the other girl seemed willing to just act as they did before, she herself was still feeling self-conscious about it and not quite willing to mess around with this newly reestablished friendship.

"It's just an illusion," she told the Genesis president, glancing at their teacher as she did so. "I checked." But she said it softly so the vice president couldn't hear. Because although Zander looked like he was about to have an aneurysm from what Jas did, he had been dissing arcane class for quite a while. Bobbi wasn't above messing with him.

And just like that, they were out.

Kaye Nightingale Sasil Sasil || Classroom 2B || "So much of effort needed."

It was fun to see the responses of other students who were thrown into his mind game. Some decided to be sheep and follow the actions of the Genesis president. At this point, the classroom was becoming a one-sided war zone. There were students who started attacking any school property near them. While there were some that decided giving up was their best best.

Probably the seniors as they had enough of this shit happening every single year.

Just then, Usha caught what Kaye Nightingale had said.

Something that would never happen in reality would trigger getting out of this illusion.

"Makes sense. Opposing nature in a set environment could cause equivalent forces to fight each other and pull us back to what is real." Usha replied back before folding her arms across her chest. What could the both of them do-

"Kaye! Punch me in the face!"

The blond shifted her eyes to find the owner of the voice to be the pretty boy all the girls were making a fuss about. She could see why he was a heartthrob of a sort but she never really liked taking on more than she could chew. She was about to turn her attention back to Kaye when Kaye considered the request.

She couldn't understand why the brunette would even need to consider such a thing. But then again, Usha has been called things worse than the term 'bitch'. She was about to volunteer her help when she thought of how to break out of the illusion.

But this was something she would never do. She'd rather bite her own leg off but she had to get out of the illusion.

Text Uriah.

"Ugh." She grunted aloud before whipping her phone out. It took her a moment before she found his contact number. Usha never really admitted it but she never really used a bad nickname for him. Probably because she had too many to call him by. But also, she didn't hate him too much. She just....hated him.

Usha couldn't believe she was doing this.

<Love you, Uriah.>

She looked back at it before cringing visibly at her phone. If she was dramatic, she would've vomitted too.

As she clicked the 'Send' button, she hoped this really was an illusion. If it got through, she'd kill herself.

Or Uriah.

Probably Uriah.

When it got sent through, she slipped her phone back into her pocket. Just as she blinked, she found herself seated next to a table, shared by the mute, Ori.

"Please tell me I punched you." She said aloud to him before a very confused Ori wrote back a short, "No, why?"

"Damn it." She sighed and her eyes caught Wolfe's. She could feel his unapproving gaze already.

Well, that explained why punching Ori didn't get her out of the illusion.

She would have done it in reality too.

Maybe making new friends weren't that bad. Aside from her fear from getting too close to some and eventually losing them in the future, it didn't seem too bad now. She meant the approaching and talking-

BOOM!

Just as Persephone was about to cut own train of thoughts short, an extremely loud explosion was heard (she was literally a few feet away from the damaged wall). It was then followed by a fog of sorts that basked her face-first, she noted it was rather warm, as a few pieces of debris collected around their feet.

What just happened?

There was a solid second of silence (or more) as everyone in the room, including Wolfe himself, illusion or not, tried to comprehend what had just happened. It look Persephone a few moments to collect her own thoughts as voices entered her ears, notably from the redhead that had caused the explosion and her blonde partner.

"Yes?"
"Hi, I don't know you, do I?"

After awhile, she seemed to have gone back to normal but all Persephone could reply was, "Oh, it's nothing." to-

Jasmine Bermout? The Genesis President?

And a small shake of her head accompanied by, "No, we don't." before turning her back towards them. Before she knew it, she found herself quickly making her way back to her seat.

Make friends, she said.

It would be alright, she said.

Persephone Vandegraft blinked before her eyes shifted to Ophelia. She was currently busy trying to take Wolfe down but if she did catch her eye, she would have noted Persephone squinting at her slightly.

It's alright. She had a number of friends. There was Ophelia, the lawnmower, Lance.....Ophelia....Lance....?

Okay, maybe not many but she talked to that freshman, Ben?

It's alright, she decided. Not only was losing friends dangerous but making friends too.

<You said I should make friends but a wall got blown up in my face. Explain pls.>

She sent a quick message to Ophelia, not caring whether she'll get it or not at this point in the illusion.

The Student Ward was actually quite a comfortable place to recuperate in or, as the Pandora trio does sometimes, nap in. The beds were not the usual single-sized mattress which could make someone's back even worse that was laid on a metal frame with a cheap paint job. The mattresses here were reasonably sized that two smaller individuals would sleep in comfortably. However, the trio had one person sleep on top of two that were at the bottom. Usually Kaia but sometimes, Uriah had the chance. Rob mostly ended at the bottom.

At the moment though, the both of them were laid down on a bed each, next to each other, as Nurse Aaron patched their backs first.

"We definitely can-" Uriah Kershaw said with a big smile before his eyes landed on Nurse Aaron who was evidently glaring at them non-lovingly. "-NOT. Don't you have any sense of responsibility, Rob? Sheesh, shame on you. It's already bad enough that we got our behinds kick, you wanna skip class." He scolded Rob exaggeratedly, trying to sound as convincing as he can before Nurse Aaron made his way to tend to Rob. The blond made yet another exaggerated 'PFFFFT' sound before looking at his best friend.

The Pandora president then smiled as Nurse Aaron's back faced him before mouthing to Rob, "We're soooo gonna skip class."

Sometimes he wonder where he would be without his best friend(s).

All that fighting- or rather, getting beaten up, got him starving.

"You two, out. Don't get into anymore fights or I'll just stab you guys to death." Nurse Aaron said as he picked up the used cotton swabs before throwing them into the bin.

Uriah and Rob quickly made their way out but was stopped mid-way as a beeline of students blocked their path.

They managed to squeeze through before they met a short raven-haired female. Khione Silverblade.

The two of them greeted her with their usual smile but all they got in return was a tense-up before she walked away.

After making their way further down the hallway, Uriah draped his arm around Rob's shoulder before asking, "Seems like Khione doesn't like us a lot. Any idea why?"

• Jasmine Bermout •

"The truth will set you free," poet and song-writer Lumiere Preston had once said and in this case, it really had. Like a snap of the fingers, Jasmine felt something click in her mind. Realizing lie from truth was awfully comforting and when she opened her eyes, she was in her seat again with everyone else seated and staring blankly at their desks.

Peering up, she looks at Wolfe who was standing at his desk, face stoic as ever. He grunts something sarcastic. Something which sounds like, "About time." but Jasmine can't confirm because she's still somewhat shocked (at herself) for what had happened. Her eyes gazed over at the students who were still stuck in the illusion and then back at the perfectly intact wall.

There was an overwhelming surge of relief knowing that there were no damages this time and she could only thank her lucky stars that she had been paired up with Bobbi.

"Thanks Bobbi," she tells the elite with a wry smile. For once, she was glad that her friend had become one.

"Are we dismissed now Professor?" Jasmine asks Wolfe, raising her hand in her seat. He tells her to wait a minute before eventually releasing his anima. Everyone in the class wakes up as though breaking through a daze.

Wolfe gives a biting remark at the students behavior. His disappoint seeps through every dragged syllable.

"I do not appreciate the brutish methods shown Bermout, Sinclair, and Coben. You three are seniors who should be providing a good example. This is a school, not a battle ground," Wolfe criticizes before eyeing the rest of the class, "Though unrefined it is still better than those who didn't try."

The bell rings signalling the start of the next period, cutting short Wolfe's scolding. He dismisses the students after another solemn reminder to prepare for the field trip next week and Jasmine can't wait for this week to be over. (I can't wait for this day to be over.)

• Ophelia Sinclair •
In retrospect, maybe Ophelia shouldn't have tried to impale her lecturer on the very first day of the new semester, but things were getting boring and she was just not having any of it (especially since Wolfe had called her out to demonstrate against Kai and Seph. This was something which could hardly be called revenge).

While Ophelia made quick work, Eliza aided her by using her anima to distract Wolfe. With Eliza as a prefect in Genesis, Ophelia expected, not much, admittedly, but something to happen; which to her disappointment, nothing did. Annoyed that she had to single-handedly face Wolfe alone, she switched targets and immediately began to swing her knife at the unsuspecting brunette. Just before the blade could hit home, something clicked and in a blink of an eye, the blonde was back in her seat, her regalia still in the hidden pocket of her sleeve.

Illusions are the worst.

Only after class is dismissed does the blonde check the text sent by Persphone and she giggles softly to herself as she makes her way to her friend's side. "I meant friends with normal people, Seph."

"Why do you think they showed up, Khione?"

The same very question had been weighing on her mind since the fight and she knows she would still be fretting about it in the foreseeable future. Other elemental students, particularly the new comers, were already over the (possible life threatening) event, gossiping about it with their friends how the Academy had really 'out done' themselves with the new semester. Other students expressed their concerns about the Tenebrae but thought nothing unusual of it. 'Must be a new training regime' they reasoned, all ignorant to the truth.

While Khione couldn't provide Cecelia with the exact answer, it was her job as part of the Student Council to ease any student's concerns.

"Probably a new training technique," she said reassuringly, sounding more convinced than she felt, "I'll try my best to get the elites to veto against it however. It feels a bit reckless."

All members of the Student Council held some power in the Academy, similar to how affiliate presidents had free reign over their affiliation. While an elite on their own did not have the power to change any rules set by the school, an unanimous vote by all members of the elite was enough to overwrite some of the more flexible or new rules.

Giving Cecelia a reassuring smile, Khione pat her back after seeing that she was all healed up. She thanked Aaron for his help and to someone's disappointment, excused herself out to complete some of her Student Council tasks. With addition to the work of sorting out documents of freshmen joining what affiliation, Khione now had another case to investigate.

Hopefully Tavi and Xel was free. She could very well use their help.
