Big Three

open

In this universe, there was no agreement for the big three to not have any more halfblood children. Therefore, Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades all have children. However, I am limiting the cast to one from each of the big three. I will be playing a child of Hades, so there is one opening for a child of Zeus and an opening for a child of Poseidon.

Olympians

open

These are the children of the main gods and goddesses of Olympus. They are the following: Demeter, Hermes, Apollo, Ares, Aphrodite, Athena, Hephaestus, and Dionysus. There are no limits on the number of children allowed to share the same parent, however, please try to keep a balance!

Minor Gods

open

There are many other minor gods and goddesses in Greek mythology. This includes, but is certainly not limited to: Hypnos, Iris, Hecate, Tyche, Nemesis, and Nike. However, children of these deities do not have cabins and could be viewed as outcasts. Again, there are no limitations to how many characters can share the same parent, but please keep balance in mind!

extra information.

just a note, demigods are quite powerful, but please be careful to not make your characters too OP! also keep in mind, if they have a minor god as a parent, they may not be as powerful as a child of. an olympian or one of the big three. please feel free to reach out with any questions you might have!!

    background.

pauline monroe was very comfortable with death. as a pathologist, she spent her working hours with the dead. perhaps that's what drew hades to her— she was not afraid of him. he was lonely for the six months of the year that persephone was away from the underworld, so he'd visit pauline on and off while persephone was away. she was kind and warm and they fell in love.

however, after maia was born, hades had to stop visiting. his presence would only bring danger to maia, as demigods that drew attention often did not live long. pauline was crushed, but accepted this as her child's safety was most important to her.

it was when maia was six that pauline was diagnosed with cancer. by the time they had found it, there were already widespread metastases. however, pauline opted for an aggressive treatment, knowing that it would not cure her but only buy her a few more months with her little girl. maia doesn't remember much of this time, just being shuffled to her grandparents when pauline was too ill to care for her any longer.

it was the same day that her mother died that she remembers seeing her father for the first time. she and her grandparents arrived at the hospital after getting the call in the middle of the night that pauline had passed away. he was walking out of her room when they arrived (he hadn't wanted her to die alone). they made eye contact and something inside her told her that he was her father. she didn't see him again until years later and her grandparents didn't seem to notice him as he walked out the door and left.

it was in her mother's will that she be sent to camp halfblood once she died. so, it was the next day when a saytr showed up to escort her. somehow, she and the saytr made it to camp halfblood (relatively) unscathed, though they had quite the encounter with a ventus. while she had no idea she was a halfblood until her mother died, it didn't take long for her to narrow down who her father was. her suspicions were confirmed when he claimed her days after arriving at camp.

initially, she spent quite some time angry at her father. angry that he was never around, angry that he let her mother die, angry he stayed away even after that happened. it didn't help that she didn't have a cabin to herself, as hades very rarely had halfblood children. so, she was given a room in the big house after a couple of the younger hermes cabin occupants came forward, admitting they were scared of her.

after her first quest, she finally met her father. he gifted her dual stygian iron daggers. he remained distant, though he became more involved in her life over the years. eventually, she moved past her anger (though it can creep in on occasion) and now she spends some of her time in the underworld. she is frequently given tasks by her father, which she works to complete. she usually only visits him in the months persephone is away since their relationship is rather rocky. maia understands to a degree, but she didn't ask to be born. when she isn't in the underworld or working for her father, maia is a counselor at camp halfblood.

she has no real interest in living life in the mortal world. it's a dangerous place where she doesn't feel that she belongs.

    headcanons.

☾ maia's hands are always ice cold (her entire body is cool to the touch)
☾ when she is nervous or angry, she does radiate an aura of death. which, understandably, makes others uncomfortable
☾ she will talk to ghosts when she is lonely or bored
☾ has a bad habit of killing any plants she touches if she is not careful
☾ always has her dagger on her
☾ shadow traveling is her preferred method of transportation
☾ animals tend to not like her, though dogs are usually an exception
☾ will pick up cool rocks and other small objects

    Height — 5'8"
    Hair — Brown

    Mods — Various ear piercings
Scars — Multiple scars from fighting, claw marks from a Chimera
Distinguishing Features — Thick curly hair, 'siren eyes', full lips, beauty mark, freckles in the summer
    Face Claim — Tamika Fawcett
    Persona
Vices — Unforgiving | If someone has deeply wronged her or someone close to her, she cannot find herself forgiving them. She finds it impossible to get over broken trust and this can cause issues if she has to work with people she refuses to forgive.

Jealous | Primarily in relationships, she finds herself to be a jealous individual and this can cause to her react in petty ways. Think of getting drenched by water or some ice finding its way under your foot.

Competitive | This developed as her powers grew and she found herself to be a pretty heavily competitive kid, often outnumbered as she was alone in Poseidon's cabin and her friends were only a small number of campers. So she often finds even the smallest things to be competition and rarely holds herself back when she's in that headspace.

Silver Tongue | Due to moving around so much and due to the truth about her family, Elandra developed a natural ability to lie without it seeming like it is a lie. Sometimes she doesn't realize she is doing it and it just slips out. But this has gotten her out of tricky situations and she has used this when dealing with monsters and enemies to trick them. It also became quite useful in camp and she was able to trick people during games/competitions.

Virtues — Friendly | A smile always on her face, Elandra is a warm and inviting person, never hesitating to become friends with those she meets. She is approachable and lovable, resulting in her being relatively popular at camp when she is working there during the summers.

Compassionate | She is able to relate to people and their struggles and always supports them, lending a helping hand wherever she can. She doesn't like to see people in pain and is always the first to bring a smile to their faces, wiping away those tears with a soft expression on her face.

Protective | Always protective of those close to her and those who are innocent, she will do whatever it takes to keep them safe. This is something that she will do until her dying breath.

Brave | Fear is something she will push aside in order to do what needs to be done. She will bravely jump into a fire if she needs to and she will even stand up to the Gods if that is required. She will swallow the uncertainty and pain of fear to help others survive and be safe.

Likes — The ocean, swimming, animals, blue things, summer, sailing, singing, traveling, hair styling, collecting sea glass, her camp half-blood necklace, myths, learning about other gods, singing

Dislikes — Blood, people dying, crowded places, complicated relationships, getting drunk, losing herself, know-it-alls, traitors, giving up, some Gods (iykyk), BBQ, American accents, will of the Gods

Hobbies — Sailing, horseback riding, sea glass collecting
Fears — Losing her mom, Poseidon abandoning her mom, losing Camp
    Demigod Information
Godly Parent — Poseidon, god of the sea, storms, earthquakes, droughts, floods and horses.
Weapon of Choice — Stormbringer, a sword made of celestial bronze that Poseidon gave her

Abilities — She holds a multitude of abilities that allow her to control water, heal with it, manipulate it, etc. All of her abilities are not listed.

Hydrokinesis | The ability to control water with the mind. They can will themselves to stay dry in water, extract water from petrified seashells, create oxygen bubbles underwater for people who cannot breathe underwater, and harden water to form solid ground to walk on or shields. They even can make giant fists of water that mimic whatever they do, which can be used to grab enemies or smash them into the ground.

Watercraft Manipulation | When they are in saltwater, they always know their exact nautical coordinates, wherever they are such as in water or on a ship or boat. They have the telekinetic ability to control boats and ships. They also know exactly how to work the boats and what all the parts do. However, they have so far only shown control over sailing vessels and similar boats. They can also keep a boat together through sheer willpower alone.

Atmokinesis | They have limited control over the weather. They can create small hurricanes and storms to attack others or for defense. They can summon strong winds to create miniature hurricanes or typhoons, they can also summon small amounts of lightning to strengthen these storms. The lightning is very uncontrolled compared to a child of Zeus.

Communication | They have divine authority over their father's subjects and can speak both telepathically and normally with each other underwater. They can understand and talk to marine animals, equines, and similar creatures.
    History
Background — Kiora met Poseidon on after a day of sailing in Australia, her hair windswept and tinged by sea salt. He was on the beach, complimenting her boat and her ability to sail, and quickly they hit it off, indulging in their shared interests. She was a free spirit yet seemed grounded in reality and what she needed to do to survive in the world. She was independent and fierce, a force that could go toe to toe with the god of the sea and that was irresistible. Their relationship was warm and almost magical, the result being a pregnancy. When Kiora found out, she took it in stride and told Poseidon, telling him she would do it alone, not wanting to rely on him if he was just going to bail. But he surprised her and said he would stay and be present as often as he could.

So Elandra was born in a small house on the golden shores of Australia, her cries mixing with the tears of her mother and her family. When Poseidon met Elandra, he was overwhelmed and so happy both were healthy and strong. He visited and stayed as often as he could, the small family of three capturing precious moments together. But as time passed and the presence of both a God and a demigod became more noticeable, Poseidon grew worried about the safety of Elandra. His visits became more spread out and didn't last as long, much to Kiora's disappointment. She understood why but it still broke her heart, not to mention Elandra seemed to notice his growing absence. The last time Poseidon saw her was after her sixth birthday and he told Kiora he couldn't come back because monsters were starting to grow too interested in them. Fleeting embraces and kisses, the man disappeared from Elandra's life and left her alone, wondering what she did wrong.

Kiora picked herself back up and was determined to keep her daughter safe. So they moved around Australia before they eventually moved to the United States to be closer to camp for the day she would start attending. Purchasing a van, the pair of them moved around, staying long enough for her to attend school but she practically seemed to move each year. Sometimes she had to do online school just to keep up with the constant moves, but Elandra never complained. Well, not out loud. Kiora's choices of residence were never good ones. Full of not-the-greatest people, they would be huddled up in studio apartments, with yelling and the smell of weed drifting in through the walls, a great contrast to the sandy shores she was raised on. But she didn't question it because she knew that there was a reason Kiora was doing all of this. Her deep brown eyes told a story that she kept hidden, only giving bits and pieces to her daughter.

The pair had settled in New York when Elandra was 13 and Kiora told her they would not move anymore, this would be the last stop. So she settled into a school where she befriended a girl named Marion and they became fast friends. She was always coming over to the apartment where Kiora would make them amazing food, rent movies for the girls, and they would share stories of mythology and magic. Elandra felt like maybe, just maybe, her life would settle and she'd get the answers she had been searching for. But one day Marion had arrived at their house and explained with a hurry that it was time for Elandra to go and it had to be that instant. She was confused and angry but Kiora drove the three of them with great speed in her trusty van, headed to camp.

On the way, Elandra was given a rundown of everything (including her friend's goat legs), and she was, to say the least, incredibly shocked. A hurried hug was given before the pair ran away from the car, the sounds of a creature chasing them being very loud and terrifying. But they made it to camp, and Elandra's life was forever changed. She was surrounded by people like her, people who didn't understand schools or why they were the way they were and missed out on being raised by their Godly parents. Elandra was claimed by Poseidon about two days after her arrival after she went swimming to blow off some steam. She was lonely in her cabin but she didn't complain. Her summers were filled with adventure and a new social circle where she could get to know people who were just like her.

She went on quests and did well, eventually being rewarded by her father with a sword that would aid her. However, they did not meet until she was back home after her first summer at camp. He was everything her fragmented memories could piece together and she was angry, so unbelievably angry at him. She tried to scream and yell at him, ready to fight him, desperate to give him an ounce of the anger and confusion he had plagued her with for almost a decade. But her anger melted into tears and the sword she held in her hand clattered to the ground as Poseidon pulled her into a hug, his tears soaking into her skin. There was no instant forgiveness but it was a start for the whole family. Kiora kept her promise and they did not move, allowing Elandra to finish her school years and spend the summers at camp.

After graduation and her deciding she wanted to live somewhere else, Elandra moved out of her mother's apartment and bounced around between her boat, Atlantis, her mom's house, and camp. Kiora moved to a small cabin on the ocean and often spent time with Poseidon there and Elandra has since developed a closer relationship with her father, taking quests and tasks from him, and spending her summers at camp where she helps other demigods stay safe and prepared for the world. She has been worried about what has been killing demigods and has worked hard to figure it out, so she was relieved to see that more demigods were called to protect the newest ones.
    Relationships
    Family — Immediate Only

Poseidon | Elandra did not enter Camp Half-blood until she was around 14 years old due to how dedicated her mother was to hiding, causing her relationship with her father very estranged. He saw her as regularly as he could until she was about six years old and he felt his presence was causing her issues. She had vague memories of her dad, the soft greying auburn hair, and his calm voice, but outside of that, she knew very little about him. So when she got claimed on her second day of being in Camp Half-blood, she was confused and angry that he claimed her so quickly but didn't bother to seek her out throughout her childhood. He has patched their relationship up considerably and she visits him regularly, meeting his wife and their children. She is closer to Poseidon and he has offered her a home alongside him, but she is still unwilling to trust him completely. She has started to call him Dad and is getting more comfortable with their family dynamic but sometimes she still gets upset by the things he forced her and her mother through for so many years.

Kiora | A single mother and one who always looked out for her child, she knew that she had to protect Elandra from the monsters that would seek her out so moving often was part of their day-to-day life. Airplanes, trains, and car trips, she did what she could to protect her Demigod and keep her out of harm's way. She learned after Elandra's sixth birthday that she would be unable to rely on Poseidon to protect them so they moved to the United States to get her closer to camp, giving her a place that she could call home and be safe in. The two women are incredibly close and she has since moved to the coast where she lives a quiet and content life. Elandra loves and respects her mother and will always put her well-being first. She would fight the Gods to keep her mom safe and she refuses to lose her.

cameron lindström
daughter of aphrodite
basics
full name —
Cameron Philomena Lindström.
nickname —
Commonly goes by Cam, to her friends. Some teasingly call her Phil, and for some, she doesn't mind.
age —
23.
date of birth —
February 13th.
gender —
Female.
pronouns —
She/her.
sexuality —
Pansexual.
occupation —
Stylist and designer.

godly info
godly parent —
Aphrodite, Greek Goddess of Love, Beauty, Passion, Desire
weapon of choice —
Two celestial bronze daggers.
abilities —

Charmspeak: A supernatural form of charisma, Cam can convince anyone of almost anything and have them do things the things she asks or persuades them of. An added side effect is Cam is completely immune to any other uses of charmspeak, and is more capable of detecting when persuasion and hypnotic methods are being used against her.

Shapeshifting: Whilst unable to shift into a non-human form, Cam is capable of completely able to adopt any human appearance including altering her clothing. Maintaining the form, however, is tiresome and can fracture if her focus is not maintained.

Desire Intuition: Cameron can, for lack of a better term, sense another's desire. Romantic interest comes most easily and naturally, leading to a knack for matchmaking if she cares to partake. But through more intense focus, effort and with physical touch she can sense all kinds of desire such as overcoming fears or plans for the future.

Other latent abilities: As a child of Aphrodite, Cam is fluent in French, and can speak to doves.

appearance

faceclaim —
Alisha Boe.
height —
5'4".
hair —
Brown, naturally a wavy to curly texture.
eye color —
Dark brown.
distinguishing features —
Always carrying an ornate gold ring inset with a pearl, her hair that regularly changes texture and styling, almost never caught without a bag of some kind.
scars —
Surprisingly, Cameron is mostly unblemished save for a few minor and mostly unnoticeable scars dotted around.
modifications —
Ear piercings.

persona

likes —
Jewellery (vintage especially), sunrises, pop-up markets, runner's high, mint, white wine, flowers, road trips, learning languages.
dislikes —
Being controlled, too many questions, fighting or confrontation, needles, boredom, flavored water.
hobbies —
Collects unique vintage jewellery pieces, thrifting and upcycling her clothes, an avid runner.
fears —
Love, mostly, and all the adjacent things that come with it: loss, weakness, the like. Also claustrophobic, hating enclosed or tight spaces.

vices —

Fickle: Cam's interests and activities seem to change with a rush of the wind, she hates to sit still or be in one place for too long. Long-term plans are things she typically avoids, and deeper relationships too - surface level is seemingly just fine for her.

Sensitive: She may not outwardly portray it, but Cam does not have thick skin and likely cares a bit too much about what others think of her. Words and actions can easily cut her and have her question her capacity, strengths and her purpose. Sometimes, she tends to close up when feeling attacked and becomes defensive, or otherwise she attempts to merely play it all off as nothing. On the other hand, she doesn't like getting too close to people in case she hurts them as she feels it to an uncomfortably deep level.

Manipulative: Cameron is not above playing to other's emotions or generally manipulating people or things to work in her favor. She struggles with it, though, not free of the guilt that stems from it especially once she begins to care for someone though. Albeit to some level, it is a habit and a defensive tool she relies on to fall back to.

virtues —

Charismatic: A general penchant for talking to others, Cameron is undoubtedly a warm and inviting presence with a fondness of bringing people together. It doesn't stem only from an innate ability to please and work with people, but a genuine passion of caring for the details in others' lives.

Observant: She's the kind of person to notice the small changes in a person's behaviour, their emotions, or in her environment. Cam will also ask, showing a genuine concern and care for those around her and also a general interest in the comings and goings of another's life. She's also got a knack for finding the beauty or silver lining in all things.

Enthusiastic: The first to delve into a new thing, or try something, Cameron has a vivacious and infectious passion for life and experiences. Getting involved and living in the present moments are where she often thrives, her presence inviting other people to loosen up and also be willing to try new things. She tends to care less for the consequences, rationalising them as part of the process.

background
(tw: implied grooming/SA, very brief.)
Karl Lindström met Aphrodite while strung out; a late night drink at a dingy bar in his pristine suit. Projects were burying him, and if he didn't deliver a sensational result, it wasn't merely his job on the line, but the livelihood of his family, his two children. They would continue to meet for days, weeks, dragging into months. And then the woman would never appear again, but a baby girl wound up on their doorstep, and Karl saw the woman from those nights in her small features. Dark brown pools staring up at him. Different to his own of icy blue, but he would not stoop so low as to leave a child to the streets - especially after his promotion.

And so Cameron was a Lindström, her addition culminating in a family of five. Although the youngest, Cam was hardly doted upon. Her somewhat-mother resented her existence, and that dislike passed onto her half-siblings. Cam was always the annoying fly you'd swat away, the presence you'd rather not there but one you could never quite entirely remove — the sensation would follow her through her early schooling, feeling as though she both looked different from every other kid in Norway and learnt different from them too.

Karl received a job offer that allowed him to move to the U.S., and knowing it would be better for Cam, closer to Camp, he quickly accepted and uprooted the family. They moved to live hear a friend of her father's in America, having to adjust to a new language and culture. The other man befriended Cameron despite the age difference, and though he had a putrid human smell monsters swiftly found her eventually and attacked when she was 13, a satyr catching on at a similar time and managing to navigate her to Camp Half-Blood. Somehow the monsters of the mythological kind were better and more manageable than the mess that was both her family at home, and the man who had portrayed himself as a friendly figure that she could never seem to unravel from.

Not long after her arrival to camp, she was claimed by Aphrodite and easily found a new victim to pin blame on and did not care to interact with her absentee mother much. Though it went both ways, after claiming Aphrodite rarely reached out to Cameron. Developing her abilities though, Cam found a new sense of control and seldom loosened her grip especially outside of Camp where it simplified her life.

Cameron spent her summers at Camp Half-Blood, being one of the lucky few to reach adulthood. She travelled across the country to Los Angeles and sought to establish a career in styling or designing. Unsurprisingly, she was difficult to contact, but when Camp Half-Blood sought the strength of surviving demi-gods, Cameron found herself agreeing to help. Perhaps the complete lack of demigods was unnerving enough for her to push past a lack of commitment.

misc.

relationships —

Aphrodite: There is little lost love between Cameron's mother and herself. She's talked to her once, which Cameron justifies as her choice as she sees both no need and no interest. How does a goddess of love put her child in the most unloving situations plausible?

Karl Lindström: Her father loves her and she loves him the same. But that love has never seemed as deep as his for his nuclear family unit of a wife and two children that she unceremoniously disrupted. She messages from time to time but has only visited him twice since she moved.

headcanons —

- carries a small sewing kit with her almost always, and will happily mend clothes.
- always eager to help someone apply or learn makeup, no strings or judgement attached.
- will choose to find any other solution than fighting a monster, first.

Full name: Alastor Blair
Nickname: For close intimidate connections, Astor,
Age: 23
Date of birth.
Gender:
Cisgender
Pronouns: Male
Sexuality: Pansexual
Occupation: Travelling Guide and Protector for the camp.

Godly Parent: Hecate— Goddess of Magic, Crossroads, and Necromancy
Weapon of choice: Celestial Bronze Warhammer,

Mystiokinesis: The ability to create minor protective charms, and enchantments, and infuse protective properties into an item, such as offering more durability or enhancing its defensive capabilities. During the night, his enchantments are noticeably stronger compared to the daytime. Another skill he possesses is the capability to craft protective spells that share the same characteristics.

Mist Control: This ability encompasses various skills, such as a generation of mist, the manipulation of its shape, and the inducement of hallucinations and illusions.

-APPEARANCE:
Faceclaim:
Sean O’pry
Height: Five foot eleven
Hair colour: His hair holds a striking resemblance to a deep dark shade of mahogany, evoking a sandiness when his hair is slicked back and textured with a coarse feel.
Eye Colour: Reflecting his mother’s influence, Alastor's eyes are a seeming nexus of knowledge and clarity, highlighted by a pallid blue.
Distinguishing features:
Scars:
Alastor himself is a veritable palette of scars, on the backs of his thighs, arms and chest— he’s accumulated a lot of varying wounds thanks to his occupation and daily activities. His most notable scar is through his right eyebrow.
Modifications: Alastor's skin is adorned with a plethora of diverse inks, patterns, and imprints, all thanks to his extensive modifications and dedication to his mother’s patronage. Differing symbols laden with magical interpretation, ritual circles, shield knots, and the seax wicca.

-PERSONA:
Likes:
Alastor's preferences mainly revolve around nature-related subjects, including herbs, flora, and fauna, which he holds a deep reverence for and enjoys incorporating into his craft. Warm and summer days, long walks, exploration, adventure and a penchant for discovering the unknown.
Dislikes: Alastor has a strong aversion to cold weather, extreme stagnation, and remaining in one location for an extended time. Spineless people, including those who are afraid of change and cannot compromise. Arrogance isn’t attractive.
Hobbies: photography, rock climbing, tarot reading, reading his horoscope, and tracking planet cycles.
Fears: Drowning, disappointing his loved ones, and dying without his mother’s approval over his actions.

Vices:
Hyper-Independence
: Alastor tends to heavily rely on his suggestions, ideas, and input, which is clear in his behaviour. Surprisingly, he refuses to ask for help (go figure) and maintains the belief that he can resolve all of his issues without assistance. He can work in a team, but he’s often operating on his ideals.
Pride: Alastor, naturally independent, takes great pride in himself and his abilities. He’s assured of his position and ambitions (clearly he isn’t doing enough), leading to the assumption his magic would always be best in any situation.

Virtues:

Sentimental:
Alastor is incredibly sentimental, cherishing his connections, experiences, and belongings. There is a noticeable softening in his overall demeanour, speech, and behaviour. It allows him to exist in a way where he feels free from judgement and speaks with a wistfulness for the past; he’s much more affectionate and friendly.
Protective: Alastor's natural inclination is to shield and protect those who hold personal or meaningful connections to him or his causes. It makes him much more fearful in battle, and conversation and a loyalty that stems from what he considers being his duty.

-OVERVIEW

Alastor depends on his concentration, power, and individual determination to persevere through the day. His demeanour has been characterised as excessively serious and confidently assertive in his exploits — purporting himself with no equal to his knowledge or speciality. However, Alastor's hubris stems from his ego and the inflation of his skills to protect himself and his charges. The designation of his minor status does not constitute truth, and he firmly believes his godly parent deserves recognition. Beneath his judgemental gaze, there's a subtle tenderness in his eyes, a softness that encompasses the twitches in his face and stretches to the gentle taps on his leg. In reality, he is far more sentimental than one might think, possessing a keen intuition for others' needs and an ability to be sympathetic. Disassembling his barriers exposes a sappy puddle, oozing into teasing jabs, and an amiable smile.

When he constructs his barriers back up, his tone becomes more critical and his words become harsh; at times cruel and bitter due to his resentment concerning power. Becoming complacent is not an option for him if he wants to continue progressing in his craft and becoming a worthy practitioner to his mother’s name. Challenge is simply a concept he doesn’t know and will rise to meet it.

History:

- THE BEGINNING
Twenty-three years ago, there was an unsuspecting catalyst in the weary hours of the morning between a sour accountant and an inscrutable woman. Alastor could never be certain of what drew them together — whether his mother was seeking a fleeting respite from her mundane existence or testing the boundaries of her self-imposed freedom. Yet, his father lucked out, an accountant from LA with ties to the less reputable businesses in the city and working occasionally in business law. Despite his unwavering commitment to hard work, Theo Blair was stuck in the lowest ranks, tirelessly crunching numbers he knew he would never earn in his lifetime, and enduring the hardships that came along with his position. But Hecate offered something special in a moment he didn’t regret. With Alastor's untimely interruption, regret was no longer an option, and Theo Blair gained another title - father.

- CHILDHOOD

Although Alastor was loved, his father's presence was scarce, and the revolving door of babysitters made the home feel transient. Stability was just a fancy word for families who were normal and Alastor’s independence was created in the walls of his loneliness. In the moments when he couldn’t rely on an adult, he spurned his curiosity and got into trouble frequently due to his boredom. Intermittently, Alastor’s thoughts on his mother were becoming common on his seventh birthday, who was she? And why wasn’t she with him? Alastor's curiosity grew to the point where he felt compelled to question everyone in his life and the classroom was the cage of his persistence in answering that question. Qualities — such qualities didn’t come from his father and Theo’s inquiries got him nowhere into abating that question. In Alastor's youth, he immersed himself in a kaleidoscope of colours, spending his days exploring parks and his nights eagerly awaiting the chance to glimpse a beautiful sunset. He struggled to find success in the classroom, constantly feeling restless and impatient.

Impatience consumed Alastor, a simmering force desperate for release, yet he remained unaware of the restless stirrings beneath his flesh. He finally found that in the library, a History of Wicca, something about the book drew him. A moth to the flame and Alastor’s innate disposition enticed him onto the first page. It grew from there, boundless questions, pestering his teachers about magic, and his father. In the search for something, videos were stockpiled in his room, and documentaries were devoured under the pensive support of moonlight. Alastor's father reacted negatively to this fascination and forcefully took his pouty nine-year-old son to the therapist, stating it was extremely odd and citing this strangeness contradicted the values he wanted to instil. Alastor's father confiscated all his books, videos, picture books, paintings and aesthetic pieces that looked too worldly. Until now, Alastor himself was content to thrive in his chaos and mark his way into the world. It stopped there.

- BECOMING A TEENAGER

Alastor's transition from a free child to a pre-tween was accompanied by suspicion, cameras, shouting matches, and arguments. He couldn’t longer go outside when he wanted, couldn’t visit his friends and he couldn’t have unlimited access to the TV anymore. His life flipped. There was no sense of personal space or privacy. Childish drawings were shredded, interesting items were smashed and anything that resembled the word “alternative” was quickly discarded. In rebellion against his father's orders, Alastor surreptitiously ventured out under the cover of night, defacing shop walls with graffiti that spoke to his desires and venting his frustrations by smashing property to vent out his anger. Real cliche shit.

When Alastor was caught by the police, tensions reached their breaking point and Theo was close to shipping Alastor to a boot camp academy. Anything to gain a “normal son,” and not one who spouted nonsense about magic, witchcraft and wild ideas about the world being seemingly more. In preparation for being sent away, Alastor, who was almost twelve, devised a plan to escape. He found himself once again drawn to a hidden journal, where he discovered a scribbled token representing an idea about protection, and that was the first ever trinket he made. It was made from verbena petals and sticks, stitched with a broken bobble.

- CAMP HALF-BLOOD

Alastor knew he needed to get away; the suffocating feeling of living under his father's whims was becoming unbearable and freedom couldn’t be an elusive concept in his life. All of this led to Alastor escaping from his home one night, taking his protection with him and deciding he would take on the world — descend into his way of living. Alastor was far too young to make that call, but the spirit of youth clouded him in more ways than one. With nerves coursing through his veins, Alastor snuck out, boldly using the night to conceal his trail and avoid his entrapment to whatever academy his father picked out. Yet none of that was smooth sailing, in the first hour of his newfound freedom, Alastor tangled himself into getting mugged and almost might have lost his own life to stupidity.

By miracle or intervention, a Satyr smoothed out the interaction, his soothing voice calming the tension right out from the encounter and Alastor was almost free. Except, he was trading his freedom to another and hauled off to a camp that, at the time, he called nonsense.

- CLAIMING
Alastor quickly realized his mother's claim on him, sensing a faint power in the token he carried and grasping that hadn’t yet reached his potential. Her symbol glittered above his head, binding him to a calling he would never shun and perhaps for the first time in his life, something clicked. The life he thought he could have envisioned at that moment was scarcely scrapped, now, coming to terms, he wasn’t a prominent demi-god in the camp. In fact, his existence could be contained within the word ‘miniscule’ and the state of his outsider status cemented this. Ambition warmed his dreams, desire cooled his pillows and pride became the blanket where Alastor cocooned himself in advancing his abilities. Eventually, he came into his own through the use of his magic, binding defences and protective properties to varying items. Encouraged by his sibling, his mist abilities flourished, and the thought of his first mission from his mother filled him with an exhilarating sense of anticipation. It was a strange one, to be sure, with Hecate wanting to collect another wayward daughter and she couldn’t trust the camp in itself to the job — her blood would be more than sufficient to complete the task. Alastor fearlessly embraced the tumultuous waves of life's quests, facing danger and enduring hardships for a scrap of approval. It became obvious that Alastor was a suitable guide and a protector.

- ADULTHOOD
Alastor’s exit from the camp was indeed a bitter affair, with rising anger and annoyance all coalescing in his stomach. It was abundantly clear that he was determined to achieve a level of success that would not only meet his expectations but also impress his mother and leave a lasting impact. None of these were achieved in his tenuous years in the camp, but he didn’t stop trying — travelling around under Hecate’s guidance, and coming back when needed to instil any protection wards the camp wanted. Alastor could never imagine himself saying no to help the camp further, and he could feel his mounting fear that his mother would never gain the respect she deserved. Thus, this added to his motivation to help.

Alcohol - The pains of the past once drove Delphinius to the bottom of his cup in the hopes that his old life would be drowned out or at least numbed. While he drinks much less today he still has a hard time going a day without at least one cup.
Distrustful - Life in the mortal world and the magic world has taught Del that no matter what they are, most entities care only for themselves. Repeated let downs and disappointments have made him slow to trust anyone or anything.
Languorous - While he isn't slothful Delphinius definitely has his lazy days where he can lounge about for hours. This can sometimes be made worse by his drinking.
Virtues.
Dreamer - It is an understatement to Del has his head in the clouds. He is an optimist who, despite his past, sees that the world is still full of endless possibilities. He does have ideals that some might say are unreal, but he holds fast to them and lets them guide him.
Romantic - Silly as it may seem Del is someone who firmly believes in the power of love and the good that it can do for a person and the world at large. Though he's slow to feel such a bond with someone when he does he has a hard time shaking it.
Insightful - Because of his experiences in both worlds Delphinius is a bit wiser than most people would give him credit for. He uses his life as a teaching moment for those around him and hope that his knowledge might help them at least avoid the same mistakes.

Background.

The streets of New York can be tough for anyone, but no one struggles more than a demigod living below the poverty line and being raised in a car. To Delphinius the torn leather backseats of his mother's car were home, for a long time. She wasn't able to provide for them after being thrown out by his father, but at least they had some kind of roof over their heads. While his mother found work on the streets at night to pay for tomorrow's meals. Delphinius spent his nights alone in the car as a child. Parked in dark parking lots or underground garages he quickly developed a fear of the dark. Strangers wandering by as silhouettes were made more intimidating and terrifying by the cover of darkness. His mother did the best she could to find dimly lit places after that, otherwise she wouldn't get any sleep.

School was a nightmare all its own as being the poor kid who lived in his car meant that he was the target of a lot of bullying. His one friend, Adonis was the only ray of light, a beacon of optimism and hope that things would get better. They stuck together all the way to middle school, which meant Delphinius had a friend's support when his mother became an addict. Again they were back to living on the street and Del didn't know why things were going the way they were. That was when he started looking to the sky for answers and to his surprise they were there. Not exactly the answers he wanted, but in the night sky he saw messages written in the stars. At first he dismissed them as his inner voice talking to him, but when weather patterns , natural disasters, and global events started to occur he started to put more faith in what the heavens had to say. Sometimes he read a little too deep or mistook the messages to be personal which lead to a few mistakes on his part, but he never lost faith.

Then as he was preparing to enter high school a monster attacked him and his mother after having stalked them for weeks. It was a brutal introduction to a new world and as he watched his mother become a victim of the chimera he felt his heart darken as it broke. He managed to survive only thanks to Adonis suddenly appearing. But they weren't out of the woods just yet; the beast continued its pursuit of them and as they ran Adnois explained everything to Delphinius. He felt betrayed and lied to by both the people he held closest in his life, the revelation meant that there was more to his story and perhaps more that could have been done for him and his mother. In a final attempt to escape the chimera Adonis distracted the beast while Del made a run for the nearby sewer entrance. The screams of his protector were the last thing he heard as he fled into the underground.

Having learnt the truth and the danger he faced, Delphinius skipped going to high school and continued life on the street so that he could freely move about. Seeing the ugly side of the world deepened his distrust of other people and increased his faith in the stars. Somewhere up there was his father apparently and he couldn't help but think this ability was meant to be a connection between the two of them. But an eye in the sky didn't stop Del from making bad choices and getting into trouble. When things seemed the most bleak he met Rj, another street kid who also could use a friend. They looked after one another and eventually started dating, it was the first time in a long time that Del felt he could be happy. It was just the wake up call he needed, the reminder he needed that there was always a chance for things to get better.

But they would get worse first. One night the sky seemed to come alive; stars racing across the velvet night like chariots across a battlefield. The sight filled Del with fear and made him anxious as he interpreted it as a warning, a message of incoming danger. Monsters. So though it pained him to do so he split from Rj and followed the stars in the hopes that his first love would be safe if they were not together. His journey ended up being longer and more dangerous than he had anticipated as monsters showed up again and again and this time he was alone. But right before he would have become a midnight snack a star fell to earth and pierced the harpy. To his surprise the stars was actually a blade, a gift from his father. With his rapier in hand he continued on the path the stars had taken and finally reached Camp Half Blood, where his father was waiting to make an introduction.

Though things were just as difficult at camp as they had been in public school, Delphinus managed to stay focused and honed his skills. His addiction to alcohol came and went with the seasons, but he stayed out of trouble. The past several years he has devoted himself to the camp and its future. His dream of a world safe for demigods, new and old, led him to take up the task of scouting for new demigods and helping them avoid danger while out in the mortal world. When at camp he puts his years of experience to use by being trusted confidant for the campers and helping them to deal with the emotional part of being a demigod.

faceclaim

freya mavor

height

5'4"

weight

105 lbs

hair

amie's hair is golden/honey blonde, with loose curls that reaches her mid back. if straigthened, it would probably go over her hips. she wears it as is most of the times, in its natural tangled mess state. during rigorous physical activities, she'd put her hair in a braid if she has the time, or just fashion some vines to tie her hair (sort of like this). she also likes to put flowers in her hair, wear a flowercrown, or both.

eyes

amie has central/partial heterochromia. her round eyes are mostly blue, the color of clear skies, with an inner ring of the greenish brown hazel, colors of nature on earth.

scent

when you pass by her, you'd feel like you just ran through a meadow in spring. you'd get a whiff of the grass and wildflowers. in close proximity, you'd also be able to smell notes of patchouli and honey. occasionally, she also smells like fresh baked goods, whenever she's in a baking mood (don't worry, she'd offer you some, provided you've been nice).

accent

british, since her only constant interaction through her formative years was with her dad.

scars/marks

faded scars from falling over rocks and other rough terrains all over her limbs from her childhood years when she couldn't heal magically yet. does freckles count as marks?

tattoos/piercings

none

distinguishing features

long puffy golden hair, warm smile

attire

amie wears out of fashion boho chic jewelry. she doesn't care much about keeping up with trends, or if she's showing skin or covering them up (though it falls on more modest category); she just wears whatever feels like her. flowy fabrics of natural fibers. she prefers to go barefoot most of the time, but she knows where and when it's inappropriate. other times, she wears boots, or sandals for more casual occasions. her style could be described as 60s boho or today's fairycore, in various earthly shades: greens, browns, and the like.

psyche

virtues

headstrong, open-minded, true to herself, resilient, forthright, amiable, maternal

vices

stubborn, resentful, worrywart, restless, could be a bit bossy, cynical

hobbies

baking, frolicking, farming/gardening, pottery (exclusively little pendants & figurines)

headcanons/other

⸙ talks to herself
⸙ "washes" her hands with soil (except in the kitchen)
⸙ natural cook, excellent baker (her breads are to die for)
⸙ a bit spacey
⸙ takes her best naps in the fields, under the sun
⸙ surprisingly does well under pressure, though may become a bit snappy
⸙ aggressively gardens when stressed out
⸙ takes her job as lunch lady very seriously. knows everybody's favorite food, how they like their meal, and keeps a folder of everybody's allergies
⸙ has gone on 2 quests
⸙ often takes on more than she could handle, then complains how she doesn't have time for herself
⸙ grinds teeth in her sleep
⸙ can always eat disregard of hunger
⸙ only takes time off to help her mother during peak harvest season and visit her dad once a month

likes

smell of fresh bread, dilly dallying, little trinkets & baubles, being helpful, grocery shopping, tea, smell of tea, afternoon tea with dad, blueberries, fruit jams, petrichor, the rain, climbing trees

dislikes

sparkling drinks, thunderstorms, minimalism, static noises, being told what to do (and what she can't do), talked down to, being riled up, fighting (does not mean she'd bad at it), gossips

fears

to never be good enough. vanishing without a trace, and/or no one noticing her absence.

mental ailments

dyslexia, adhd, generalized anxiety disorder

from her appearance, you'd think amie would be the kind of girl who lights up the room she walks to. she's not. in reality, she's actually more of a wallflower, standoffish in nature. definitely not because she's shy, however. she is just not particularly interested in small talk, befriending strangers or even starting conversations in general, although she still does it often, to keep up appearances and the reputation she worked hard to change.
she could keep a cool head in stressful situations, especially if everyone else is panicking or of no help. this may come off as barking commands or being bossy, though she just wants to help. she likes feeling appreciated and receiving gratitude. she has "it takes a village" mentality about most things, and just has a big sense of community in her. she gives good advice, too, though they can be a bit unorthodox sometimes, either when she's tired of your constant advice-seeking but never listen to her, or she's just bored and is on a mean streak. most of the times she means well and is the picture of affability. unless you've crossed her somehow, which is not an easy feat. then she could be petty and vengeful, often in a passive-aggressive way.
to be close to her, you have to be ready for some tough love. because she will be straight with you, even to the point of brutal honesty. in addition to that, you have three strikes before she demote you back to an acquaintance. she's not known to give second-chances, either. though she'd put you on a pedestal once you've stuck by her through thick and thin.

history

her story begins on the verge of the autumnal equinox eighteen years ago, right before her mother would be at her busiest, she dropped a cherub of a baby on edwin fairburn's backyard. amongst his makeshift garden of a backyard, lies a baby girl, surrounded by out of seasonal flowers, the grass spring green underneath her. though he nary caught a glance, edwin knew exactly who dropped her off, and just how special his little girl is. and how he'd love her so, just as he does her mother.
after reminiscing of their short-lived love story, of how a gorgeous and intellectual woman of golden locks had approached him first, catching him off-guard (though when was he ever on guard), began their conversation, and it lasted hours, days, weeks. they talk about anything and everything, finding a new way of how they are similar yet ever so different every time, how they had seemed to fit together like pieces of a puzzle. how he met her at thirty nine years of age, never imagined a love so spontaneous and consuming yet endearing for himself, or that it even existed. but he knew it for he felt it in the moments spent with her and thinking of her. of how abruptly she left, gone with the wind and carried that myrrh scent away with her, and how he'd waited months to hear back from her, to no avail, grieving the life he thought he could have, having a wife and maybe a kid or two, who'd grow to share their affinities. so brokenhearted, he’d decided on a whim (and he was not a man of whims, ever) to uproot his life and move all the way to america, just for a change of scenery. until this rosy-cheeked baby now on his backyard, who, he noticed, as he picked her up, shares that same golden locks and smell of earth and grass and wildflowers.
and so begin her relatively happy, albeit lonesome, childhood days. of being reckless and clumsy and laughters in parks, frolicking and semi-imaginary adventures in woodlands and grasslands, making friends in limited ways, since her dad homeschooled her, thinking he could give better education than any american schools could. ones that he could afford, anyway. she made his garden less pitiful with her green-thumb, he made her tea and cookies and played dolls with her in between grading papers.
occasionally, her mother visits. but it was always when her dad's not around. she'd ask how amie has been, has she been eating well, and ask how her dad's been, too. they'd talk, and before leaving, demeter would ask her to be a good girl for her father, and not to tell him of these visitations. she doesn't understand why, but she's always obliged. one of her fonder childhood memories was waking up with her head on her mother's lap, her gentle hand stroking her hair, her face smiling at her, after falling asleep in their garden. as she grow older, the visit became scarce. until they stopped at all, a few weeks before her 10th birthday.
aside from the normal school lessons, once he'd thought her capable of handling such information (a week after her 8th birthday), and with fear that someday something dangerous might come for her, edwin told her of her mother, of how her blood is half divine, half mortal. of course, she'd already known this, as her mother's visited her a couple times before. but she pretended not to. she didn't ask many questions, just listened and nodded, wanting that conversation to be over, because her dad looked so sad then. he'd ended the long story time/lecture with how he'd send her to a camp one day, to keep her safe and sound. she grew to dread the day she'd have to leave him to live alone.
yet that day came anyway, and, at the age of 12, still she was unprepared. despite his reassurance over the years of how he'd still see her often and that it wasn't goodbyes, it still felt like it to her. when she first arrived, she was claimed immediately. she'd detested the camp since the beginning, ever since she knew of it's existence, and she for sure showed everyone just how she felt at first. she was very unpleasant, to say the least. years of mentally preparing for her departure and separation seemed to fade, replaced by the horrible memory of her father dying, and a satyr pulling her away from his hospital bed, taking her to camp half-blood before he even wakes. she understood it must be done, yet the more irrational part of her loathe just about everything and everyone then. but the thought of keeping her father safe was enough to made her stay. she turned her focus to rigorous physical training and polishing her abilities, so she could go back home again, and keeping her dad safe this time 'round, if anything were to happen. still, the fear of endangering her dad was always there, and the memory of him barely surviving scared her half to death, and she began to visit home less and less. she grew to understand her mother then, why she distanced herself from them.
by the time she made peace with her life, almost everyone's grown to at least dislike her. not that it's not deserved, when she looked back at how she acted, even to her cabin siblings. the first impression she'd made had sticked, and she became the outcast. but she was persistent to change that, and once she'd set her mind on something, she won't stop until it's achieved. so she slowly but surely warmed up to people, making friends. she hated the process but loved once it showed results. she was not discriminatory, buttering up just about everyone, not just the demigods. she made head counselor when she was 17, and was happy with that position. she’d stepped down once she turned nineteen, and since she has taken on the role of the camp's head farmer and pavilion lady full-time.

connections

Edwin Fairburn

amie's father. 57. environmental science professor. single father of one. loved her mother deeply, still does, and has never been in any relationship since her. he very rarely ever talks about her, and amie never pushes him to, since she could see the yearning still hurts him, even as a child.
as a single father of a demigoddess, life hasn't always been easy for him. but as she learned to walk and talk, it was clear he needn't had to worry much. with the same affinity of all-kinds nature, it was easy for them to get along, despite his intense awkwardness at times. that was why all the important ‘talks’ (aside from her heritage) came in the form of picture books or youtube videos. amie loves her dad deeply, as does he, despite them being away from each other for the past 6 years. he has always remind her that she's special. she was not overly spoiled by him, yet she was rarely reprimanded harshly.

Demeter

mother. goddess of agriculture and fertility, goddess of the harvest and sacred law, goddess of the earth, goddess of the seasons, nourishment, and bread, the mistress of food.
demeter didn't want to visit her little daughter much to keep her safe, but she could not help herself at times. often the visit is near amie's birthday, during harvest season, when she's the strongest, so she could make sure to keep her and edwin safe.
her relationship with her mother has always been somewhat good, though pre-camp it was limited from the little visits. it's grown more the older she gets, after she became a permanent resident of the camp.
