The United Nations Orion Factbook has long since been one of the Spur's most reliable and expansive sources of information on anything and everything that one might need to know, from planets to people to governments to cultures to technology to history, everything can be found here. Stemming from the CIA World Factbook of the 20th and 21st centuries, the transition was early into the 22nd century to make the World Factbook a more well funded source of information that would be publicly available at all times as a utility to the many millions of human explorers that now surveyed and colonized the Orion Spur by making it a joint-project between the United States and the United Nations.

Summary:
The Lanfang Republic is a minor state bordering both the Southeast Asian Federation and the Nasantaran Republic, propped up as a puppet government of the SAF during the ASEAN Civil War. While no longer under the SAF's direct control, the Lanfang Republic still heavily depends on the SAF for military protection and economical development. The small republic's economy is relatively weak, and mostly depends on the export of food and natural resources to the SAF. The small state also boasts of it's historical heritage as one of Southeast Asia's very first democracies, as well as it's Sino-Southeast Asian cultural heritage.

History:
The Lanfang Republic was re-established by what would become the SAF during the climax of the ASEAN Civil War on one of the various planets conquered by the Allied forces from the Indonesian Coalition. The minor state was intended to attract refugees of Southeast Asian Chinese origin fleeing from Indonesian persecution, and to sow disunity within the enemy populace. However, as the Coalition went to China for aid, the persecution stopped, and so did the influx of refugees into the new state. Throughout the remainder of the war, the Lanfang Republic would remain as an Allied puppet, and would supply foods and materials to aid the war effort.

It would only be until the Causeway Coup that the Lanfang Republic, as well as numerous other SAF puppets, achieved their freedom. The chaos that ensued after the coup would see the Federation government lose control over their former puppet states, which it is still unable to reestablish today. After achieving it's freedom, the minor state begun to focus on developing it's infrastructure and industry, although they still heavily relied upon agriculture and mining as their main sources of income. Today, the small republic is still considered a backwater region in the eyes of many, with relatively few cities and numerous small villages dotting it's landscape. Despite the fact, the planet's small population is relatively well off, most of them being wealthy landowners who derive their revenues from selling their goods to the neighbouring SAF.

The Lanfang Republic doesn't yet possess an actual military. It's primary force are the Lanfang People's Militia, a small, well-armed, but inexperienced force that maintains order across the planet. The Lanfang Republic also possesses five cargo ships that are fitted with 2400s SAF weaponry that can be drafted into the Lanfang military at will. These ships currently serve to transport goods and people within the republic, as well as to export goods to the SAF.​

Summary:
The Free Papuan Republic is a minor state within the system of Sri Wira, which it shares with numerous other minor states including but not limited to the Lanfang Republic, South Maluku, the Republic of Aceh, the Arakan Federation, the Hmong Federated State and others. Like most of it's neighbours, the Free Papuan state is an impoverished, backwards state that is only barely surviving thanks to it's resources. It heavily relies on trade with it's much stronger neighbours, and it's economy is sustained by it's meager agricultural activities, and the mining of the mineral deposits within it's borders. Infrastructure is almost non-existent within the state, although the government continues to try improving the major transport routes to facilitate the trade of goods which it relies so much on.

History:
The Free Papuan Republic was established with the aid of what would become the SAF in 2219, alongside numerous other minor separatist states, in an effort to weaken the Indonesian-led opposition. However, these efforts turned out to be mostly failures, and the Free Papaun Republic is one of those that failed quite spectacularly. Their benefactors had hoped to stir up discontent within the ethnic Papuan population within the opposition by reviving West Papuan independence sentiments within their populace, failing to account for two crucial factors that led to the ultimate failure of the Free Papuan state. One is that there is indeed already a Papuan nation state within the Indonesian-led coalition that ethnic Papuans would rather serve under rather than rebelling for some upstart nation in nowhere. Another one is that most people who would consider themselves West Papuans had already been assimilated into mainstream Indonesian society at this point of time. This resulted in a very low population for the newly formed state, which saw it having to go through various hardships to even function in the future. To make things worse, their benefactors cut off all support that they usually gave their newly propped up states after seeing that there is in fact, no potential for the republic.

Faced with a multitude of problems, chief of them being a very low population by galactic standards, the republic has encouraged early marriage and siring multiple children within it's citizens. However, it's low life standards had led to generally short and miserable lives, and the republic's few elites face extreme danger as the rampant crime in the state threatens to consume them all. Today, the state struggles to implement a functioning infrastructure and dealing with it's rampant crime.

Military:
The Free Papuan Republic barely any military strength. It has no ships of it's own, having to rely on other nations to even get their goods offworld. It's police force acts as the state's effective ground force. Equipped with at most late 2300s small arms, these poorly trained policemen could barely hold out against the rampant and often violent criminals roaming around the nation, not to mention actually defending it. However, the republic's insignificance also meant that there are probably no invaders for them to defend against either,​
