Fantasy Hidden Bite and Possible Cure ((Open to First))

Michi
((Hello! I am going to try to keep things short. I am new to this website, but I am not new to roleplaying. I would prefer FxF romance for at least one pairing, if you are not comfortable with that then that is fine. I am also up for MxF. Try to write at least four or more paragraphs per post. I know sometimes we might hit ruts, and that is totally fine, but it is usually overall better to have something to work off. Of course though, quality is always better than quantity. Try to keep controlling my character to a minimum. If this particular thread is already taken, just ask and I can gladly post another specifically for you if you PM me. As of right now, that is about all I can think about to say. Happy roleplaying!))

It all happened so fast. There was no time to react. Michelle was bitten before she even realized she was bitten. She screamed and began to cry. Her thoughts were going to her brother, who would now be left alone in this world when she turned. At the same time, she knew this meant her death. She had always been terrified of dying, even before the dead had risen. She could not handle these thoughts.

Laughter was faintly heard in the distance. Two figures were standing a safe distance away. The two were from a local gang that had formed after the world went downhill. The gang did not usually accept outside people. Normally outsiders were disposed of in various ways. This time it was to be eaten or bitten by the dead.

Alexander was barely handling the zombies on him until he heard Michelle scream. He glanced over and saw that she was bitten. This enraged him and scared him at the same time. He used his new-found adrenaline to bash the two zombies in the head. He managed his way over to his sister afterwards, killing the zombie that she was struggling with.

Alexander hugged his sister tightly and took her hand. The pair ran off, away from the figures in the distance. The two did not know where they were going to go, but they had to get out of this town. It might be their hometown, but obviously they were not welcomed here.

Eventually the pair found a vehicle that wasn’t totaled or surrounded by inoperable vehicles. The keys were still in the car. Alexander got in the driver’s seat. He turned the key. At first it did not want to start, but one more try and it came alive. The gas tank read full. This made him smile a bit, at least this would get them out of town.

Michelle got in the passenger’s side. She leaned against the door and began to cry. She probably did not have long. A day was the most she had, or so she thought. “Lets get somewhere peaceful so we can get this over with. I don’t want to lay to rest in this chaos.” She said to her brother, who was now maneuvering the car in between others.

“A-Alright.” Her brother struggled to say. He did not want his sister to go, nor talk like she had to go. He knew the end was inevitable though. The two would make the best of what time they had left. Alexander did not know what he was going to do when she was gone. Maybe he could find a local group that he could convince he was worthwhile to take in.

~~~One week later~~~
Michelle and Alexander could not believe it even though it had been a week ago. Michelle was still around and not a zombie. There weren’t any signs showing until today. The bite mark on her arm was no longer just red. The mark was turning black, which should have happened the same day she was bitten. Underneath her eyes were slowly turning a gray color, as if she had not gotten enough sleep lately. She could not tell if her skin was getting paler because she was pale to start with.
The two had found a new town. Alexander had drove until the car was almost on a fourth of a tank. He pulled over to scavenge for gas while Michelle looked for food and other supplies. She knew, or assumed, whatever she found was only going to her brother to help him survive after she was gone. She found a few unopened water bottles and snack packs in the back of a minivan. These must have been for kids who played sports before the apocalypse happened because there were a bunch of soccer equipment in the van as well.
Now the pair stood by a river. They had parked their car nearby and did their best to camouflage it. They filled their canteens and the water bottles from the van then loaded them into the car before they went back to wash off. Michelle took off her bandage and cupped up her opposite hand to get water, so she could pour it over her wound away from the water in case it could somehow contaminate it.
Once done Michelle wrapped her bite in a new bandage. It was on her forearm, near her elbow. It was a bit hard to do one-handed, but she had learned to do it because sometimes her brother was busy scavenging or keeping on the lookout.
Alexander had just finished cleaning himself. He had a rag that he would dip into the water and rub dirt off. It was not the best option, but neither of them could afford to be naked out in the open. Who knows what could come up. He cleaned the rag the best he was able and handed it to Michelle, who repeated what he did until she was done.
Afterwards the two packed up and were about to head out when they heard a shot. They had not been looking on the other side of the river since they were getting ready to leave anyways, but now they were looking in that direction since that is where the sound came from. There were two figures standing on the other side with weapons pointed towards the siblings. It was not the two from a week ago, which would have been weird since they were so far away. Of course, this did not mean that these people were not just as dangerous.
Alexander cursed under his breath and whispered, “Not again.” He moved to stand in front of Michelle, who had already been moving to stand behind him. The two did not have long range weapons, only melee type. “What do you want?” He shouted as loud as he dared because he did not want to draw unwanted attention from the dead that could possibly be nearby.
He studied the two as he waited for an answer. He could not get much except they were armed with guns and that each were a different gender. Alexander just wanted to get out of here and he was sure Michelle felt the same. Neither of them wanted to trust other humans anymore, even if the people are the politest individuals you would meet because they could easily turn against you. As well, people could consider others closer to them more important, which could mean getting left behind or having no resources if they were relying on others.
Romulus looked at the the two kids before him they weren't much older than him, and Alice she just stared at them. he nudged her, "Alice! *quietly*quit staring at them" Romulus couldn't tell why they were alone but he didnt care he wanted these two off the street where they could talk safely*"the Boy said" What Do you want?! " Romulus didn't know what to say exactly so he said" better pack your shit you two there's a horde on its way this way and we need to leave and you look like you could use some help anyways"
The girl didn't look to good but then again people who had a shower every once in a great while were lucky in this time because of the zombies and their stench. Alice continued to stare at the girl. Romulus noticed it started to rain a very rain weather condition during the apocalypse, the camp would be happy about that but they had to move our deal with the massive horde of zombies that was coming and they just wanted to go around it Romulus said"we won't hurt you we just want to help."
Michelle peeked from behind her brother. She looked at the two individuals across the river. She was terrified to say the least. Deep within she had a feeling of dread that felt like it was coming from across the river. She assumed it was from the two others, but it felt worse than two alive humans. She couldn’t put her finger on it. She glanced around, to the sides and behind the other two. She could see nothing within sight.
That is when the boy mentioned a massive horde of zombies was headed this way. There was no way the feeling had to do with that, right? It shouldn’t be possible for her to “sense” zombies, or was it? She honestly shouldn’t even still be human right now, so she guessed anything was possible.
Alexander noticed the girl staring at Michelle. He wasn’t sure how he felt about that, but it seemed Michelle hadn’t noticed yet. Was she preoccupied with something else? Either way he turned his attention to the boy. “That’s good news at least, the part about not wanting to hurt us, not the part about zombies.” He said, trying to make friendly conversation. It was hard for him to do after what other human beings had caused to happen to Michelle.
He hesitated a moment before he talked again. “We have a car back there.” He gestured towards his back. “There is room enough for everyone to fit if you hold some bags in your laps or move it to the middle of the backseat.” He didn’t want to tell them about the car, but if they were to get out before the horde came it might be the quickest way. The two would see it anyways when he and his sister left.
Alexander looked up a little when the rain started to fall. He frowned. He loved rain, but anymore there was so much of it. It also made a gloomy place even gloomier. He looked down at Michelle. She had a small, sad smile on her face. She loved rain, but it had started raining soon after she was bitten, so now she had associated bad memories with the rain.
Alexander and Michelle gathered the rest of their things, ready to make the way to the vehicle.
Romulus nodded and nudged Alice and said to her,"Hey whats up with you man?" She looked at him and said nothing about the bite mark she noticed on the other girls arm because it looked very old and so she dismissed it as an animal bite mark.
Alice looked up and shouldered her small duffel bag, she had some food and water bottles, and a couple knife sharpers from a falling apart grocery store,.
Romulus had a bigger duffel bag, he was pretty tall to most people standing at a height of 6'10", his bag had significantly less food and water than Alice's but his had iron pans and one of those military shovels he had a few arrows he had made but no bow,he also had a lot of sticks, string and obsidian and hospital grade first aid supplies and lots of them. He was an ideas kinda guy, he had suggested to Alice that they set up a trip wire, that would start a couple of helicopter rotors spinning to decapitate the zombies in the horde. But, he couldnt find the right materials for his idea, so he wrote down his idea in his notebook and put in back in his bag.
*That was about a week ago when he had the idea*
They both shouldered their bags and got into the Boys van,
"Sorry I didn't tell you my name, "Romulus said" It's Romulus and this, is Alice"
Alice slightly nodded in his direction and said nothing *
“My name is Alexander.” Alexander said after the boy introduced the two. “And this is my twin sister Michelle.” He motioned a hand in Michelle’s direction. At the moment she was busy pulling her long sleeves over her arms. It was bothersome with the bandage on her one arm, but she didn’t want lots of questions about the bandage.
Michelle looked up afterwards, turned a bit from the passenger seat, and gave a small smile and wave. “Do you guys have anywhere you would like us to take you?” She asked. “My brother and I weren’t really heading anywhere in particular, just away from zombies as much as possible.” She chuckled a bit.
She was trying to be friendly, and it was hard. She already felt herself becoming tired from the effort of friendliness and worry of fearing them to be just as untrustworthy as the last people the siblings encountered. Of course though, she was always ready to defend herself if the tides turned. Last time the two were unprepared, and this time she had nothing to lose personally.
Alexander started the car, ready to pull out when he knew if there was anywhere in particular to go or if he was just driving to wherever the group ended up at. “Hopefully things have been fairing well, all things considered.” He said, hoping to strike up a conversation.
"Nice to know everyones names, "Romulus said" well we aren't really heading anywhere except for away from the horde, so yeah"
Alice started to wonder about Michelle's arm and the bite mark, if it was an animal bite why would she cover it up?, but it couldn't be a zombie bite because it looks so old like it's almost done healing.
Romulus got bored and looked through his notebook for a bit to fine tune some of his ideas, mumbling to himself quietly off and on about whether something would work or not.
Alice must have decided that she was too tired to stay awake for much longer because after a few minutes she was slumped over on Romulus' shoulder resting Her head on his shoulder, and sleeping*
Alexander started to pull out onto the gravel road. Michelle happened to look back at the river as the group pulled away. She still had her feelings of dread. She was ready to look away when she noticed it far, far in the distance on the horizon. There was a horde of zombies, just like the boy, Romulus, had said. A shiver went down her back as she turned to face the right away. She stared out the window as the scenery passed them by.
A couple miles down the road the group went from gravel road to main road. They passed by a car every so often. One car had it's door open, the driver no where to be found. Another one had the driver stuck in the windshield, the only sign of life being when it moved and reached out to try to get to the vehicle the group was in. Sights like these were sad, but the twins were happy that there were fewer things like this to see out in the country side.
Michelle glanced in the rearview mirror and saw Romulus looking at a notebook. He seemed deep in thought. She saw Alice was sleeping against Romulus. "So," She started out, trying to be quiet enough to not wake Alice, but loud enough to where Romulus could hear her. "What are you looking at?" Her brother was focusing on the road. He wasn't sure where to go, except trying to avoid big cities. He would probably stop at a small town to restock on food or find a place nearby to settle in for the night, more importantly to find gas.
Romulus looked up "huh?, oh this is my note book it's got zombie traps and ideas in it" he said as Alice stirred in her sleep
He thought that the zombies were farther away than they were so he was glad he had left and he was glad These kids had helped them *
