Heal My Heart

Matsu shifted his eyes to look out the window; the artmosphere that lingered around them buzzed with tension and the bad aftertaste of awkwardness. He tapped his fingers on the tabletop, trying to form some sort of conversation but not knowing where to start.

Miku had no idea what to say, it was quite the site. Normally the girl was all over conversation, but she had never had his happen before. She sighed, taking another sip of her drink.

The tall boy shifted around in the booth they were sitting in--the space under the table was a bit cramped and his legs were in an uncomfortable position, so he moved them around a bit until they stretched out across to the other side. Matsu's legs now rested comfortably, but unknowingly, he had also brushed past Miku's leg a couple of times. He looked the small girl in the eyes, noticing that they were a bit weary, probably because of all that had happened during the past few days. "So, got anything planned for today? If not, we could go shopping or to the aquarium or something." Matsu gave her a lopsided grin; she needed to take some time to get things off her mind and collect herself.

Miku could feel his knees brush past hers and she felt a shock of electricity run up her leg and all the way through her fingers. She shuttered slightly, closing her eyes. It was weird to think that she had actually... and with her best friend too. She looked up at him as he suggested doing something, and she gave a small grin of relief. "I don't have any plans today." she said softly, more meekly than she was used too. She smiled and took another sip of her hot drink. "That would be nice actually." She added.

Matsu pulled up his phone, looking up the times for which the Tokyo aquarium was open. It was sometime around 9:00 o'clock in the morning, and the aquarium wouldn't open up until an hour before noon. He stood up, depositing the now empty cup into the nearest trash can, and looked towards Miku. "We've got time to walk around the shops until eleven, that's when the aquarium opens up."

Miku smiled softly, taking the last sip of her drink and throwing it away in the bin. "Alright then." She said to him, tucking her hands next to her. She sighed and leaned back, smiling at him. "Want to go anywhere in particular?" She asked him, looking up at him. She tried to be as light hearted as possible, but it was a little awkward still.

"Nah." He gave a simple answer, scratching his head as he did so. "Your choice, I guess." Matsu shrugged his shoulders, his light brown hair falling back into place. A fog of awkwardness seemed to descend upon the pair as they made their way out of the cafe. He started humming, in an attempt to shake off the odd atmosphere.

Miku let out a sigh into the cold air as they walked, looking down. She wasn't sure what to do anymore, his was totally new. She stuck close to him as they walked though the street together, listening to him hum. "It's nice out." She said, trying to relieve the atmosphere that had settled over the two of them, but it just thickened.
