Dax sat meditating on the landing pad as the sun broke the Tanalorr sky ,creeping over the mountain line illuminating the ground below it. This would be their first mission since arriving on Tanalorr, and with everyone being huddled in the Jedi Temple, has also made everyone anxious considering their usual activity level. It wouldn’t be long before everyone made their way out of the temple and onto the landing pad for departure. Feeling the force around him Dax couldn’t help but think of his apprentice Terrik and how this may be the best place for him to reconnect to the force, the only thing that worried him was what would happen if the missions ahead became too much for him when he does form a healthy connection to the force.

Thinking back to when Him and Cal first ran into each compared to how things are now, he could actually see a place of change to begin the long journey ahead, since th ere’s a solid group put together Cal’s plan can officially begin. Today they would commandeer an imperial transport, loaded to the brim with top shelf tech meant to be distributed to strongholds across the galaxy, but to their surprise they’ll never get their hands on any of it. The transport will likely be heavily secured with a Tie Escort and maybe a couple of inquisitors accompanied by a squad of purge troopers, recent rebel activity has had the empire on high alert.

As the Time of departure grew closer Dax decided to go with his initial idea of splitting into two teams the first team which will consist of Kir,Terrik, and Dax would be the smash, their objective would be to overrun the command center, and draw the most attention. While Team two consisting of Hesssyk, Enja, Mal and V would be the grab, main objective is to kill all coms and tracking devices and making sure the precious cargo is accounted for and stays precious. Once both parties have completed said objectives V will take them home. It would be no time before everyone would be grouped outside, anxious, sleepy, excited, surely a variety of emotions.

~Hesssyk...~
CharrFull-StarWarsHunters.png

It was at this moment that Hesssyk had been working on with some ammunition. He had been experimenting with some slug rounds. Hesssyk loved anything with shrapnel. He had also tinkered with a blaster rifle to try mimic the effect of a shrapnel bullet so that the gun would fire at a wider area. He had a few other gadgets he wanted to tinker with as well. One of those being a set of turrets he had been meaning to mess around with when he had gotten extra time.

Hesssyk let out a sadistic cackle as he looked at the slug round with content and amusement. He wouldn't have any time to get around to dealing with any turrets for he had places to be, and missions to be apart of. Such as the life of a busybody. His current group were a bit of oddballs. A couple of those force sensitives. Hesssyk didn't care for the flashy tricks they did, but understood they were not to be underestimated. The rest of the crew were alright. A mandalorian, the ex-stormtrooper and the twi'lek. It was certainly a ragtag group of people, but Hesssyk wouldn't complain as it didn't

It would eventually be time to go, Hesssyk had already finished the project before him, but was taking a few extra moments to enjoy the craftsmanship. A double take to look it over and critical think on his tools for a moment. He got up, and made his way to where the departure would take place. A crooked grin was plastered on his face. A mix of arrogance, optimism, and a slight hint of skepticism. He slapped the but of his gun over his shoulder.

"Jussst like clockworrrk" Hesssyk commented as he was ready for their soon to come mission.

"Alright, ships all primed and--oh, you're doing your freaky force connection thing " V sauntered out onto the landing pad as she passed Dax after checking the systems on a digital pad that showed her the ship's systems. She wasn't an engineer, but, she knew ships like the back of her hand and it didn't take a expert to know when something on a ship was malfunctioning, or just outright broken, now fixing it, THAT was something else.

It had been a few months since she met her new bosses and just her luck, out of everyone in the galaxy, it had to be force sensitives, even worse, she was indebted to them for helping her escape her former boss. Terrik was fine and she was on somewhat of a good relationship with him, but Dax and Enja she did her best to keep at arms length. Reminded her too much of --. It's not that she didn't trust them, it's just that...well she didn't trust them. In truth, although she wouldn't admit it, she would rather have them and not need them than need them and not have them. The others weren't much better save for the mandalorian and his little protege, yet they were reliable in a pinch, but to say she was part of a crew of oddballs was putting it lightly. An ex-slaver, a former imperial, and a mandalorian. There's a joke in there somewhere.

She knew how to put her grievances aside when it came to work, especially when her paycheck was on the line. Their first mission and it wasn't exactly a walk in the park, something she was good at, yet the obstacles involved were what made it difficult. Dealing with them empire was always risky and could go south at any moment depending on the situation. "Is the uh-universe enlightening you with wisdom beyond your years or whatever"

enja
It was different. That’s all Enja could say about the events that had transpired and led her here. She spent her entire life on Dathomir and in the blink of eye, her sisters had been wiped from existence. Enja was lucky. She was one of a small few that were able to survive. But survival after that on a planet with low resources felt impossible. Finding a living person there under her nose was exactly the ticket she needed to get out. And she was thankful for that, even if there was something about the man, named Dax she learned, that felt as though he was familiar. Like a voice she had heard for the last several years without knowing it. Something she couldn’t explain and didn’t know if she would ever have an answer for.

What Enja didn’t expect was to land on a planet she had never heard of, and to join a team of rebels serving under a Jedi on the run and, to her pleasure, one of her sisters who had survived. Merrin, she said her name was. That was enough to convince her to stay. She had a bit of doubt when it came to the final team. Enja wasn’t sure if they would be capable of much. But now they could put it to the test.

The team Dax had assembled were just given their first mission, and they were all to meet at the landing pad. Enja was the fourth to arrive, behind V, their pilot. They were still short a few team members who would most likely show up at any second.

“I’m sure the galaxy has much to say,” Enja started, staring at Dax. That feeling came again. This time as a wash of calm, with the undertones of…worry? She pushed it aside as much as she could. Her magicks were part of the force, but she wasn’t fully connected at his levels. At least she didn’t feel like she was. Enja decided to stand off to the side from everyone else. At least she could see when others would show up.

“I sincerely hope the others aren’t too late…” Enja sighed.

hesssyk had a datapad out and was writing some notes, when he overheard some commentary by some of the other team members. One about the universe and enlightening wisdom. Hesssyk cared little for any of that enlightening stuff, so long as he could calibrate a quad-ion turbo canon properly, that was good enough for him. He put his datapad down for a moment.

"The universsse sssaysss itsss time to ssstart blasssting. Ssself-pressservation. You either got it orrr you don't" He said lifting his datapad up to continue to type away. Occasionally squinting his eyes. One of the problems of having claws meant Hesssyk was never going to be a fast typer for risk if stabbing holes into it. Without looking, he gave a guttural laugh.

"They'll be herrre sssoon enough. If they donnn't. I hope they can fly amongssst the ssstarsss" Hesssyk commented. For the time being, Hesssyk was looking over schematics. Tinkering with designs, and making calculations in his head on how to create a flamethrower for a space ship. One that could burn even in the vacuum of space. There would need to be a way to eat through a ship's external armor to really cause any meaningful damage. Like an acidic fuel source. Such idea was ludicrous and doomed to fail. But it was an interesting thought in Hesssyk's mind to explore when he had spare time.

"I-That's not" V sighed as she rubbed her forehead and tried to keep her frustration and exhaustion at bay brought on by Enja and Hysssyk. "It's too bad the universe can't give you two a crash course in sarcasm, oh! Maybe you can ask the universe." Save for Enja being dathomir and not really having experience with people who weren't from her planet, she didn't know much about her. If her crew mate's wit was as dry as her sense of irony, this was going to be a very long job. Hysssyk on the other hand......well there was nothing to be done about his wit.

V turned her attention back to her datapad as she went through system checks one more time before the job. With hysssyk, Dax, and enja here that only left four more to wait for. With the rest here they could go over the plan and get gear and other things ready. "Well here's hoping they can't, if they could, I'd be out of a job" She replied as she kept her eyes on the datapad.

{Mal Jerycho}
"Mögsegeni sayadegeni mül sana
Tsegerin tsalikh tsetserin tsögün ikh khana, ikh khana"
Mal Jerycho sang along with the music in her head set as she double checked her gear. She had had the Trandoshian go over it, but doing this herself was a ritual worth keeping up with in her mind. She made special note of the 5 power packs she had for her DC-19 carbine. With it being able to fire near invisible and suppressed blaster bolts, it would come in very handy. But with shots being limited from the packs, she would need to choose her shots carefully. She might need to see if she could work with V to get ahold of some more down the line.
Speaking of her team mates, they might have assembled by now. Jerycho packed up her headphones into a personal satchel and replaced her weapons in their various holsters and slings. Carrying her helmet under arm and her satchel in the other hand. She marched out onto the landing pad, her features set in a no-nonsense scowl for the mission. She had learned to be...lax during down time, but on mission she was going to ensure things were done properly.
"Good to see most of you here." Jerycho said, stopping her march a few meters from the gathered teams. "Everyone checked their kit?"

{Terrik Bal}
Slinking on to the landing pad was the young Mirialan apprentice of Dax Turon. The others were talking, but Terrik wasn't in the mood. His gut was in knots over this mission. It use to get like this back with the old gang. Jedi were suppose to be in control of these things, but here he was, feeling like he could throw up. Not thinking he could project anything but nervousness to the others, Terrik sat down with his back against Mal's weird TIE. He watched the others for a moment before his dark eyes shifted down as he pulled out the lightsaber Master Dax had given him. He turned it over and over in his hands, studying every inch as if by simple observation he could learn from it. Whatever this mission held, he wasn't going to let everyone down. Not again.

enja
She could see the frustration on V's face. Enja tried her best to be at least cordial to her new team members. V was just more difficult that the rest. She probably had her reasons, much like Enja had her own for each person she was surrounded with. 'Sarcasm' was still a fresh concept. Was it too much to ask others to speak to how they truly felt? Perhaps that was just how her and her sisters were raised. She tried her best to brush it off.

“If the universe truly wishes us to start blasting away, it might be sign we'll be successful.” she said. The next to approach the scene was Mal. She raised an eyebrow at her comment. Check the kits? Enja didn't plan for much.

“Are we supposed to do that all the time?” Enja asked. Following Mal slinking his way onto the landing pad was the young apprentice of Dax, named Terrik. Though her connection to Dax was probably the strongest, still for reasons Enja didn't quite understand, there was something about his new apprentice that she could somewhat pick up on. It wasn't uncommon for Nightsisters to feel things through the force. After all, they were taught that their magicks came from the force itself. But his quiet nature and movement gave her a little anxiety herself. She wished she could tell him this was going to be a success, that they would hurt the Empire. But even she wasn't fully convinced in the moment.

"Hesssyk doesss not need to asssk the universsse anything. He already knowsss the anssswersss to hisss quessstionsss, and Hesssyk knows all he will ever need to know about sssarlaccsss" Hesssyk commented, clearly not understanding sarcasm. Hesssyk turned to look at Mal. Looking her up and down, as she asked if they checked their gear.

"Hesssyk isss alwaysss ready" He flared his nostrils, but spoke in a calm but firm tone. Enja continued the universe conversation. The universe as a whole didn't matter to Hesssyk. To Hesssyk, there was no greater picture than the here and now. So long as he had weapons to build and maintain. Things to kill and trophies to collect, Hesssyk was a very happy lizard.

"That's why you need to be two steps ahead. Do it beforehand. Don't run out of time" Hesssyk's facial expressions were subtle and did not convey much emotion, but he took great pride and enjoyment from being well prepared.

83F32F2F-301C-46A2-9C7E-6F086279C137.jpegThe landing pad began to become more active As people began to come out one by one. Ending his meditation Dax stood and began to stretch his legs, looking around he seen his apprentice Terrik over in a corner feeling an aura of unease around him, ever since Dax took the young Mirialan in he’s carried baggage from his past that was over due for disposal, the trauma obviously caused some kind of disruption to the boy’s connection to the force. Looking over to Enja Dax could tell that she could sense Terrik’s anxiety as well, she had a strong connection to the force, and to himself. Dax had only been on Dathomir for maybe a couple weeks before he was able to feel her force essence, starting only as a detection of her presence that turned into him being able to hear her voice, and partially feel her emotions when they were close enough, it was odd Dax didn’t even have that type of connection with his sister let alone anyone else and since then Dax knew he needed her at his side it was a bonus that she was actually someone he enjoyed being around.

Then there was V and Hesssyk, an outspoken pair to say the least both masters of their own craft “ Good morning Datapad duo, mind giving my ship a look over it should already be fueled, also Hesssyk can you get one of your droids down here, preferably one of the quieter ones that could pilot my ship back home after we infiltrate the transport.” He said addressing the two. “And V, sarcasm is a little too powerful to ask the Universe.” He said cracking a grin and shooting her a wink.

“She’s just keeping everyone on their toes I see huh Mal? Everyone doesn’t have your proficiency at prepping big guy.” Dax called too Mal and Hesssyk as he approached Enja placing a hand on her shoulder “ You feel it too?” Dax said softly looking over to his apprentice who was busy studying Dakari’s old saber “ How are you , ready?” He shortly followed up now looking at her.

"SAR," V began to shout before she decided it wasn't worth it and gave up. She rubbed the bridge of her nose as she let out a sigh and muttered under her breath "I swear you people are going to drive me up a wall". As she finished her bout of frustration, Mal had shown up. Another person she wasn't quite sure of, but she was a good navigator which was hard to come by. She had mentioned checking kits which made V scoff, a pilot's ship was the kit. "What's there to check? I got all I need right here" She mentioned as she knocked on the ship's hull

Mal was an enigma to her, couldn't figure her out. All she knew was Mal liked to sing, which.....kind of got on her nerves, but she's been partners with worse. Then there was their fearless leader, Dax who had just stirred from the dead "Nice to see you back in the land of the living." V ignored the comment about the duo thing. "So I noticed" She remarked at Dax's comment about the universe. "Sure, I'll just add ship maintenance onto the bill"

enja
“The universe perfers to keep it literal,” Enja smirked. As long as Dax was willing to continue the joke she would too. There was something amusing about requesting something from the universe itself. Perhaps it could bless them with some sort of success. She watched as Hesssyk tried his best to keep his emotions in check. Which one she wasn't sure. If it was good enough for him then checking over her kit didn't even feel necessary. She had her magick. What lese would she need on a mission?

She took pause at Dax's comment. The force was a mysterious thing. And there was denying there was an added mystery between them. It was something Enja had thought about but wasn't sure if there was going to be a deeper answer. But there was no denying that Terrik's emotions were palpable. Enja would've been surprised if she was the only one feeling it radiating off of him.

“I do,” Enja responded. “But I am as ready as I'll ever be.” There was no sense in dwelling on it. The longer they let the young apprentices emotions ruminate on them, the more it would affect them later.

"I'm guessing we'll get a more formal briefing once we're on board? she asked.

~Hesssyk...~
CharrFull-StarWarsHunters.png

As Hesssyk put his data pad away, he held a unique pistol made of scrap parts he had been working on. Parts that would normally be discarded or smelted down for their valuable materials were turned into a somewhat functioning stun pistol. It lacked the potency to cause excruciating pain so it was a failed gun to Hesssyk's standards, but he enjoyed tweaking with it regardless.

All the continued talk of 'the universe' made Hesssyk roll his eyes. He didn't understand their interest in the universe. Also he failed to understand the humor behind the commentary and assumed they were weirdos obsessed with it.

"Hmph...!" He grumbled as he continued to tinker away with the gun.

"Yesss. The sssooner we board, the sssooner we can focus on important thingsss" Hesssyk replied. Hesssyk's seeker droid lay wrapped around his arm like an armband.
