1918- Ww1 ends with the worlds overall military might diminishing by more than half. Millions die and economic recession begins to spread.
1920- A massive alien ship launches an assault on the earth. The combined might of the worlds remaining military forces successfully shoot the ship down.
1932- the First reported case of superpowers manifests. At the same time a deadly form of cancer seems to spread throughout the world.
1936- Hundreds more cases of superpowers manifest with a steep incline in the number of reported cancer cases. Studies show an unknown chemical in the earths atmosphere. Militaries and police merge into a unit dedicated to dealing with superpowered criminals who are on a sharp rise.
1938- british scientists track the source of the Chemical and find the crashed remains of the invaders vessel in Antarctica. Tensions rise as the world begins to bid for dominance for the craft. Meanwhile Powered individuals begin to don suits and fight powered criminals in the streets. The first heroes are born.
1939- world was 2 starts as Adolf hitler starts the first ever all powered soldier unit called the Heart. He conquers Germany, Poland, and Various other nations comminting much the same attrocities as before.
1941- the rest of europe bands together and with heavy support from the united states they form the Hero group known as The Guardians. The armies collide as the two hero groups face off on the shores of normandy.
1944- the war ends after the united states unleashes a fusion bomb weapon reverse engineered from the alien technology. The southern Half of japan is erased leaving a very deep sea known as the Sea of Sorrow. The Heart is defeated and is beleived to have died in the fusion blast.
1947- the Nations of the world forge the united nations, heroes from across the world join the Guardians and technological development explodes as all nations within the Newly formed UN now have access to the Alien technology.
1950- the UN lands Several powered individuals on the moon. They are selected by their abilities granting them maximum survivability on the moon. Rather than plant a flag, they turn their lander into a base complete with miniature biodomes for growing food. They spend six months exploring the moon before coming home. All of the dark side of the moon tapes have remained top secret to this day.
1954- the cold war never happens china, russia, and the Korea's all join the UN. Trade skyrockets and technological development increases the world over.
1961- the internet is invented and the first form of mobile phone comes out. Austrailia, and vietnam join the UN. Again resulting in an economic spike and a tecnologiacal increase. Turmoil begins to rise in the middle east.
1969- War breaks out over trade routes in the persian gulf, Mediterranean sea, and indian ocean. The U.N faces off against another large army for the first time in what comes to be called the war of the 3 seas. This battle is hideously one sided and much of the nations of Iran, Saudi Arabia, and egypt are wiped out by advanced alien-tech.
1970- global protests break out over the UN's actions. The armies of the UN are disarmed by popular vote and all military power is given to the hero organization The Guardians. The world Cheers as their champions become all the more powerful. The first flying cars become publicly available
1975- Taking the place of the Military the Guardians casually quell insurections, protect the planet from natural disasters, and easily overwhelm the super criminals with their far superior budget and equipments. Antarctica is explored, along with most of the ocean. At least 10% of it in the dead center of the ocean is unmapped. This area is known as the abyss and ships, aircraft, and even drones vanish over this.
1980- Fractures begin to spread between the heroes of the Guardians. Different ideals clash and fights begin to break out. This ends with the Guardians splitting into two seperat groups. People begin to think a civil war will occur but the death of a fellow hero in the line of duty quells tensions slightly. Humans are landed on mars, they spend 6 months there before coming home. Again a large portion of the research is classified as top secret.
1987-the motherland wars break out as african nations band together and oppose the UN. Having spent decades illegally smuggling weapons from the UN to themselves the generals of africa actually put up a better fight, however the Guardians are able to defeat them and force the nation's into the UN.
1990- Brazil ,Argentina, Mexico, Chile, Venezuela, and El salvador join the UN creating the first ever global organization. The lunar colony is completed and has room enough for 500,000 civilians and another 50,000 soldiers. The success spurs the start of a martian colony.
1993- During a serious clash of ideals within the Guardians the team if split in half after Member Magnus Kills member Red Guard. Joseph Ripley is born to The Hero Red Guards Wife. She keeps the child raising him without the knowledge of who his father is.
2000- The Divide between the Heroes grows deeper and the two sides wage a brutal war in new york causing billions of dollars in damage. During this war the UN government surprises the heroes with an army of combat drones which they use to subdue the Waring heroes. The guardians loose all authority and all government sponsored hero teams are disbanded. The PH law is passed stating that hero organizations can only be privately owned with the owner being responsible for the teams collateral and other such things.
2012- A massive attack on london takes place in which big ben is struck by a weapon that turns the building itself into a bomb that levels everything within a 25mile radius. Millions die and no one claims responsibility for the attack. Rumors start spreading that the Heart is returning.
2016- Dozens of hero groups exist with more on the rise. Newly starting groups find it difficult to get any traction as costs for collateral insurance have spiked. The citizens of the United nations of earth start a donation fund to aide the budding hero groups. Heroes have become a media topic. Flying cars are mainstream and teleportation is just on the horizon. Energy weapons are commonplace and new transforming technology may soon make living outside of the habitations on the moon and mars possible. The martian colony is completed with the same size and proportions as the lunar one.

All powers in this world came from the same Alien chemical. A chemical called C-47 released by the alien ship when it crashed. Though the powers vary vastly the chemical does not allow for "Magic" powers as magic does not exist in this story. Furthermore for whatever reason the only aliens to ever come to the earth are the ones who attacked us in the ship and strangely not a single corpse was found on the craft no one has ever seen an alien and no one can be one. Thay said you yourself need not be exposed to C-47. If your parents were you have a 50% chance of also having this ability. Because of this most people who gain abilities are lucky and have someone who can teach them to use this power. It does however seem that humans have limits. So far the strongest heroes have been able to down skyscrapers but never an entire city.
