1. The story behind the Gethsemane Revolution
The Abaddonites landed on the islands of Gethsemane in the year 1430 and established a colony there by 1432. Their colony, named Patria, soon introduced wave after wave of colonists that spread diseases from the Empire that exterminated entire native peoples in Gethsemane. It did not help that there were 300 men who previously launched an expedition that made close contact with the Geth, these explorers even managed to befriend some of their tribes and soon there were Geth allowing some of the foreigners within their territory.
Nobody expected so many people to die in a short span of time when the plagues hit. When the native Geth people realized that their friends from the sea were responsible for this incident, the Geth labeled them as demons carrying the curse of a thousand plagues with them and sought to distance their people away from the Abaddonites. But merely staying clear of the Abaddonites only made it more difficult for them to see what was coming next, expansion and conquest. Abaddonites who wished to gain lands and titles for their own have undertaken campaigns to subdue the local population with advanced weaponry.
Guns and cannons were indeed powerful though early gunpowder weapons were found to be flimsy, but they were not enough to face the Geth people's familiarity with the terrain, superior numbers, and underground fortress cities. So the Abaddonites found it easier to instigate the divide and conquer policy where the Abaddonites would side with rival tribes of Geth against their neighbors only to beat them all down when everybody is weakened by the war. This worked well, for by 1560 the Abaddonites have gained complete control of Gethsemane's three main islands. Mahesh was the biggest island. Crotos came second. Sacradome came dead last in size.
For 300 years, from the year 1560 to 1860 the people of Gethsemane have been under the oppressive rule of the Empire of Abaddon. Every year, every man was called to do service to the Empire by means of forced labor. They constructed ships, made goods, and manufactured weaponry for the Abaddonites, giving them fresh supplies for their own war machine as they set up more colonies and subjugated people like the Geth. In the end, the Geth were used as nothing more than stepping stones for the Abaddonites to revel in their glory. This was not the end of their abuses, it was only the beginning of it. The Abaddonites were creative in the art of cruelty and an untold number of atrocities have been committed in this 300 year period.
The Geth were forbidden to worship the Old Gods of Gethsemane, who have been said to have saved the world from utter annihilation from the wicked forest creatures of the world of Sepia. Instead, the Geth were made to worship the Emperor of Abaddon, for subject peoples of the time had to show ultimate respect to keep them in line and to test their loyalty to the Empire. Taxes were raised to extreme levels and people lost all their fortunes and properties to foreign Abaddonites who came to this island for the opportunity to rob the natives of their precious livelihoods.
Rebellions surfaced every once in a while, but they were no match for the organized colonial army. Every time the people rose to fight they were kicked back down again and again to show how powerless they were in the face of overwhelming might. A man who was born a Geth was born to suffer a hell in which the Abaddonites were the demons. Now, it is not fair to say that every Abaddonite was bad, for there were a lot of good people among them that sheltered the Geth from the crueler Abaddonites and there were even communities dedicated to the protection of the persecuted Geth people.
In 1824, the Abaddonites discovered a secret movement that was created for the sake of worshiping the Old Gods. The Abaddonites pretended to be considerate for once and told the Geth that they could continue devoting their time to worship. Three days later an army of 10,000 Abaddonites swooped in and started lighting their sacred altars on fire, they killed so many people that their blood formed a small pond. This was the last straw for the Geth, everyone heard of this and the time was right for another rebellion, but this would not be just any other rebellion. Previous rebellions have been isolated events composed of local people who took up arms when they were fed up with the crap given to them. This rebellion was going to be a national rebellion, a rebellion that united the 3 million Gethsemane people against the Empire of Abaddon.
During the rebellion, the Gethsemanes have forged an alliance with the forest folk of ancient times, for they have found a common enemy to settle their differences. True, the Geth are suspicious of mythical creatures, but they would rather strike a deal with the devil himself than obey a cruel Abaddonite. The forest creatures have been hiding in the island of Gethsemane for a while now to avoid the widespread persecution of their people in the super-continent Yahtra. Soon, the combined might of the forest folk and the various organizations of the Gethsemane Resistance cracked though the Empire's colonial defenses and trapped their Governor in Fort Gayle in the capital city of Patria.
No sooner than that have enormous ships decked with impressive arrays of weaponry have been sighted arriving at the coastline. Without warning, these ships bombarded the city, leveling much of the city to the ground. After showing how capable and ruthless the Imperial war machine was, they sent an emissary to the fort to demand the surrender of every person in the island of Gethsemane. A few shots in the negotiations room were heard, several bodies were dragged out, hands were shaken and the Imperium was expecting this to be the end of that.
The Governor of the Gethsemane may have formally handed the islands to the Imperium, but there were many pockets of resistance that had to be dealt with before the Imperium could assume complete control of Gethsemane. When the Emperor of the Imperium heard this, he was mad and he ordered the annihilation of the people who dared go against his sovereign rule...
2. The Imperium's expansion and conquest
(The Imperium were a race of slaves that turned themselves into Emperors. They were bought and sold like animals, and sometimes the animals were worth more than them. Yet they endured this abuse for thousands of years until they found the opportunity to seize power and they did.
-This could be a possible plot point. The Gethsemane people could have been the descendants of the gods that oppressed the forest folk and the non-magical humans. The Imperials could have been the descendants of the slaves that were under the gods and were forced to work for them. That way the entire plot is the case of a slave-turned-emperor meeting a god-turned-slave. But this happened so long ago that both sides forgot who they were and convinced themselves that they were always like this. Even if their peoples came from different worlds and started out differently, they have the same nature. They were both cruel when they were in power but for good reasons and they were fiercely resistant of foreign intervention, they did not like being told what to do. They are more alike than they would like to admit.
The Imperials were lumped along with the forest folk because they were the humans that sided with the forest folk in annihilating the human expedition. Mainly, because the expedition entailed killing every magical creature in the land and studying them to know how they managed to use magical powers so different from humans. The Gethsemane people, having lost most of their equipment in the struggle couldn't get back to the stars so they decided to stay here for a while so they could fix their starships. But soon, they completely abandoned their original mission and started local cults that revolved around worshiping the ancient Gethsemane people or the Old Gods.
They decided to spare the Imperials and the forest folk. And when the Old Gods lost their power the descendants of the Imperials and of every other empire has colonized the super-continent of Yahtra and engaged in countless wars for dominance over it.
That means the forest folk who have been fighting the Imperials have actually been fighting the descendants who fought for their existence in the planet. The forest folk fought the Gethsemane people in the past who were the gods who nearly exterminated both sides. The Imperials are fighting the same people they swore to protect and enslaved the gods who put them in chains in the past. The Gethsemane are siding with the people they were to destroy in the past and are enslaved by their own slaves.
Yes, there were humans that sided with the forest folk, but that is not known history.
Even before the earliest known history was written, man fought against man in a never-ending war for dominance of the super-continent of Yahtra. Empires rose and fell during this period of perpetual state of armed conflict. The ruins of forgotten civilizations scattered the vast landscape, each a monolith of an age that told of a certain chapter of civilization. Once in a while there would be Empires that would boast of lasting a thousand years; there were empires that lasted that long but the cycle of growth and decline was all the same. Soon, these empires would crumble into dust and their numerous achievements would be reduced to a single page in the history books if they were lucky.
The story was the same everywhere in the continent of Yahtra. Men fought, men died, and with each war ended they set back humanity 300 years in terms of overall development. Nobody knows how advanced humans were in ancient times, but all men know that they are a shadow of their former selves. They used to have command of giant beasts made of steel; they could affect the land, air, and sea in ways that are today considered inconceivable; they could scorch entire lands with a raging fire; they could travel through in the darkness of space which was said to hold silent horrors that could have killed men in a heartbeat; they could blot the night sky with the light of their cities; they could build towers upon towers and cities upon cities. In short, men could have done the impossible in those golden times. They had something that made those miracles possible, they had the lost art of technology.
Note: The Imperium people have a different concept of space as we Terrans know it. I must enact a policy of trying to look at the science we have today in a different and preferably creative way to ensure other roleplayers have a more entertaining experience in the RP. Now, the Imperium believes that there are three skies above the world. The first sky is the sky directly above them. It has a blue color and a shining yellow sun by day and they have a blue moon by night. The second sky is often referred redundantly as the "sky above the sky" (I don't know, it just sounds cool to them) which is only partly visible at night. People would have been surrounded by total darkness if there weren't dots of light or stars (called farsuns for far suns) illuminating the vast expanse of darkness. The third sky is hidden beneath these two skies, it's actually a link to the psychic world where humans can manipulate reality.
Note 2:
One had to wonder why the forest creatures of the world of Sepia gave men such trouble. Perhaps these creatures once possessed untold powers that matched the technological superiority of mankind. People didn't know what those powers were, but it was enough to give them an edge over mankind in an ancient war that pitted man against forest folk. It was said that they nearly exterminated all men in that war and that men were only saved when they were granted magical powers that turned them into gods. Men have no such magic now, but there are rare instances when some powerful mage would enter the stage and wreak havoc on armies and empires. In those moments, enemies turned into allies in a desperate attempt to put that warlock down. Of course, there were mages of the altruistic kind that used their powers for good. One example of that kind of mage is the Mage of Daqria, who safeguarded travelers from bandits while journeying throughout the continent. Many still fear mages whether they are good or bad for the immense power they hold.
They had control of the shadows, of the air, and of the water of the blue seas. They didn't just have power, they have magic! It seemed like they were naturally attuned to the environment around them, and they could manipulate it to their desire. This was lost on most men, who thought this was madness when they heard of it. But when people saw it for themselves that was when the ancient tales and legends of old that survived the destruction of entire civilizations resurfaced.
The forest folk were back. The demons were back. They were here to exterminate mankind a second time like they nearly did the last time. There was widespread pandemonium caused by this revelation. The faint of heart died hearing this, while the rest of those who were still living were intent on leaving the areas where the forest folk were headed.
The Imperium decided to end this squabble once and for all. They fought not just for unity but for peace. They waged a war to end all wars. It was a true war of peace. Or are these people just misguided and a true war of peace is not fought with cruelty but with love? (This serves as the basis as why some Imperials turn coat) but other imperials believe that this is merely wishful thinking and that if they wanted to put an end to war they should destroy it in the most violent way possible to convince humanity to never do it again. (As if humanity didn't suffer worse.)
The Geth and the other empires were the opposite. They fought for freedom and for

Since the Imperium was an empire of empires, people were allowed to venerate the emperor of their state, but only true worship was given to the Emperor of the Imperium.
The punishment for sedition was not death, it was castration. It was believed that people were free to go against the Imperium and the Emperor, but such people did not deserve to reproduce. So if one was fighting the Imperium he was not only fighting for independence, he was also fighting for his manhood.

The Legend of Mankind and the Forest Folk (The Lore) - Must make it sound poetic... but how?
The Legend of Mankind and the Forest Folk: Bear with me, this only forms the foundation of my story. I promise you that there is more to come...
The Lost Age (Forgotten)
It is the greatest story never told, but it was a story experienced by countless generations that have been forgotten by time. In the beginning, Man did not come from this world, they were the aliens, the foreign devils who came from the skies with massive ships as big as islands that hovered over the jungles, forests, mountains, deserts, and oceans of the world. The local creatures of the world came out to greet them and seek friendship with them, and Man accepted this offer of friendship.
Man shared with the forest folk (as Men liked to call them) ancient forbidden knowledge. They brought strange concepts of gods, of civilization, of unholy technologies never seen before. When Man gave them this knowledge, Man also gave them power. This knowledge corrupted the forest folk, and it made them greedy and soon they became evil because they had a taste of Man's power. Soon, the forest folk, wanting that power all for themselves, attacked Man with the same knowledge that Man taught them. During this period of betrayal, Man called the forest folk "demons" because Man was convinced that they were so evil that they could not be trusted.
Man was overwhelmed, he was outnumbered, outgunned, and surrounded. It seemed like nothing could save Man now, until all Mankind prayed to their Emperor beyond the stars for help. And the Emperor answered their prayers by bestowing upon Man an ancient power to warp reality and bend the forces of nature to their will. Man fought the forest folk with that ancient power so destructive that they made mountains bow down, they burned entire continents with a raging fire, and they drowned the forest folk with floods that came from tidal waves as tall as the sky itself.
Age of Gods (Forgotten)
The forest folk begged for forgiveness, not wanting to be destroyed by man. Man forgave them, even though Man was vengeful because of the forest folks' betrayal, he was shocked by his own powers and he decided to make peace with the forest folk. The forest folk were stripped of their technologies and the practice of giving the forest folk knowledge was replaced by worshiping humans instead. The forest folk did think of the humans as Gods, because of their immense powers over nature. Even though the forest folk could do magic themselves through the life force of the planet, they were hopelessly pathetic in comparison to the God-Men.
Yet, as time passed, the magic sent by the Emperor weakened. The forest folk did not know this and they continued to worship the Gods even if they weren't as terrible. This magic should have by all rights come with an expiration date. During this time, Men would fight wars against one another when there was a disagreement among them, and these conflicts would push Man back centuries in development. Until there came a time that Man became ignorant not only of the knowledge he had gained, he also forgot his heritage.
Age of Emperors (Present age)
When Man finally lost most of his divine powers that he received from the Emperor beyond the stars, that was when he decided to form Empires to compensate for the loss of magic. It was discovered that political powers were just as potent as magical ones. Then Men fought and fought and fought endlessly until the forest folk, who were weary of Man's pointless squabbles, gradually disappeared into secret lairs where they were not to be found. Thousands of years passed and soon Man forgot all about the forest folk and resumed fighting. The only trace left visible of the forest folk to man were the old legends and the occasional lone encounter with a forest folk.
Until the peace of the forest folk was disturbed when unknowing Men accidentally dug into their lairs and ruined it. This infuriated the forest folk, and they disregarded the warnings of their ancestors to not meddle in the affairs of humans, for they were infinitely dangerous in every way. Yet when the forest folk attacked the Men, they found them weak, for Men were but a shadow of their former glory in those days. The forest folk grew confident and kept attacking the Empires of Men, until one ambitious Emperor decided to unite all Empires under an Empire of Empires, and this would be called the Imperium of Man.
Under the Imperium, they slaughtered both forest folk and Man alike, those who would not submit to the power of the Emperor were to be killed. The forest folk were again called "demons" and they were hunted down like pigs. This was when the forest folk retreated back to obscurity, not wanting to be murdered by a ruthless and cunning Empire.
The forest folk were again called "demons" and they were hunted down like pigs. This was when the forest folk retreated back to obscurity, not wanting to be murdered by a ruthless and cunning Empire.

First Introductory Notes: (Must organize this) - Too cluttered and unreadable. It's a miracle that people managed to read through this. They must be patient people.
Ok, I'm finished with the lore but I have to introduce the following:
1. The Setting - The characters will live on a small colony recently conquered by the Imperial Army. The Imperium has established the Imperial Constabulary as a garrison with a lawkeeping function to keep the peace on the island. Before the arrival of the Imps (which everyone likes to call them) the inhabitants of that island have been fighting for independence for decades under another empire. So these inhabitants are not about to give up without a fight. The Imperial Army has left only because they were urgently needed for another war on the mainland. Now, on this colony are forest folk/demons who can be lizardmen, frogmen, or whatever catches your drift. These creatures are hiding from the Imperium because they don't want to be killed by them. The local colonists accept them, but the Imperium just wants to shoot them in the face. Take your pick. Be creative. I want daring character designs, not normal ones.
2. The Characters - As I said in the setting before, there are lizardmen, frogment and shit really. You can be a ghost, vampire, or some Lovecraftian monster with a motormouth! You don't have to be human in this RP, you can be fucking wild, man. You can customize your own race of creatures and people can join you in it.
3. The Politics - It is the interplay of power between characters. Some may be elected/appointed officials while others are military officers. You can appeal to force or you can negotiate with NPCs, MPCs, (I'll get to MPCs later) and other players and GMs. Also, I don't like characters to just be soldiers and politicians, I want CIVILIANS to be involved in my RP. They can be carpenters or other artisans with a trade, they can be traveling merchants with goods to sell, or they can be professional doctors, etc. The possibilities are endless! So why don't you explore it?
Do you know why I said this? Because I am going to find a way to use them. No character is useless, it's just that you haven't figured out how to use them yet.
4. Game Master Hierarchy - I... can't do this RP alone. This is... the first RP I will host and the other RP I did try to make? It didn't get off the ground so to speak. I need your help. So I will try to form a team of dediated roleplayers who will be responsible for controlling NPCs and will even contribute to the making of the story that I so want to make. I have fire inside my soul, but how can the fire burn without wood? You... only you can give me the wood that can make my soul continue to burn!
5. The Role of Game Masters - I am the Supreme Game Master and I think of it was the "general of the army" while the other Game Masters will be the "officers of the army". If I shall be in charge of the overall picture, the officers will fulfill several functions of their own. Mainly, they shall be the ones to control NPCs within the story if I can't be there, so story can proceed smoothly at a fast rate. BUT, the other reason why I decided to add GMs is so that they can make the story with me. They shall create the map and some geography and they shall be able to create their own factions with NPCs...
How can you be a GM? You just ask.
6. NPCs - They shall be controlled by the GMs. Me and the other GMs can create NPCs when we feel that a certain group doesn't have enough characters to represent a certain group or just keep the players company so they don't feel lonely. However, I was also thinking that new players may ask a GM to use that NPC as their player character. So players will only need to select a NPC as a character and put up a sign-up sheet and POOF! you got your own character.
7. Players - I have an additional feature of making players use something like the NPCs the GMs use because I want there to be loads and loads of characters for the roleplay. These will be called... the Minor Player Character (MPC) because the player controls his own "player character" which requires a complete background on his biography, personality, name, age.... and etc, the MPC will only need a name, a few notes on his personality or he does not need a personality at all to be part of the RP. He just needs a name. This is especially useful if you need to have a couple of more expendable henchment on your side, but you need to do it right now fast.
8. MPCs - The Minor Player Characters will have their own sign-up sheet. Whereas GMs can control all NPCs, the players are different because they can only control their own MPCs. They're your toys, take care of them.
9. Why there is Technology - Oh shit. I was so caught up in this maelstrom of information that I forgot all about it! In the Age of Emperors, people use guns, cars, and a little electricity here and there. They're fairly technologically advanced, with World War 1 technology on their side. Of course, there's magic, but I want ordinary people able to fight back, and they need guns.
10. Mixed Genre - That part early in the lore with the ships in the skies? Definitely futuristic. Magic of the forest folk and the magic from the Emperor beyond the stars? Definitely fantasy. Oh, and I copied the concept of the Emperor and the Imperium of Man from the story of Warhammer 40K, which is TOTALLY AWESOME by the way. Modern technology with guns and cars? Definitely modern and realistic. This combines all the three main genres of RPnation, with futuristic, fantasy, and realistic elements all to it. I just wanted to stuff everything awesome into this RP, forgive me... AND this is classified as Fantasy because it has an emphasis on magic.
11. What the hell are Forest Folk? - Monsters. Not humans. Creatures. I also don't want dwarves or elves or giants because having pointy ears or a stature too large or small is certainly a rare genetic disease which comes mainly from... humans. BUT, you can talk to me about it. That's all for now. Hm, I'm kind of new here so let me know what you think of these proposals. And suggest your own too. About me: This is the first RP... actually my second RP I will host because I didn't even finish the first. I have little knowledge of BBcode so don't expect me to use it. I have no idea how to make a map either so I request somebody do it for me. However, I am always eager to make a good story, so you can count on me for that!

Current story notes: Random thoughts that are unorganized. (Good ideas, but must organize them too.)
1. The addition of religious leaders among the natives that exploit the legend of the gods freeing them from the oppression of the foreigners. They establish a clergy wherein they claim to be representatives of the gods. These shall be called the Priests, and they shall addressed as "Father" after Catholic priests. They have no magical powers of their own, but they are persuasive enough to let the people worship them anyway.
