Joel is usually a lazy man with slow and accurate moves. He likes to sit on comfortable chairs. He tends to help his friends as much as he can, but he seems suspiciously busy most of the time.
Glowstick is calm yet agressive. He does not strike first. He usually observes his enemies and tries to think of a proper counter. Most of the time he is extremely careful since his ability requires good decisions.
Bio: Joel Hopkins was born with the ability to grow crystals, which got him into quite a lot of trouble. After a good amount of happenings, his parents finally had him under control, and kept him that way. Joel taught himself to control his own power, so he can use it well whenever he has to. Still, he had the problem of strong emotions putting him out of control. He did not go to college and tried making his own business. After failing a good amount of times, he decided he would be a vigilante. After few years of burger flipping and comic book reading, he roamed around the city in his creepy costume, using his ability to fight crime. At the age of 23, Joel earned the nickname 'Glowman', and a short time of fame on the internet. After saving another vigilante in costume in a fight between the police and a gang, the two made a promise to help each other out. This helped Joel get a job at the vigilante's sandwich store. Then he was recruited to Equilizer while the war between heroes and villains was going on. He assisted other heroes fight the villains. Few years sfter the Equilizer started the college, he disapeared, probably back to his normal life. Many of his hero friends thought it was his retirement. Joel claimed his comeback as a hero by beating up a group of heavily armed bank robbers alone. This was when he decided to name himself 'Glowstick'. After his comeback, he continued his life as sandwich store employee and vigilante. When the Nexus struck, he and his vigilante friend(who retired from vigilante business few weeks after Joel's return) ran a hero shelter for a short time, providing protection from the Nexus and the villains.
powers/skills/Abilities.
Glowstick's body is able to generate some sort of crystals and freely control it. Mostly created by putting hands on a surface. Crystals start growing from where the hand touches and can spread over the surface. Formerly grown crystals cannot be grown, but can disintegrate by Glowstick's will.
Crystals come in various types. Crystals cannot function well ehen broken by other force. All of them are a bit transparent.
-blue: Most easily grown. Simply hard, able to grow on most surfaces. Also has the fastest growing speed. Can take any size and shape.
-orange: Volatile crystals that canot grow bigger than a size of a finger. Detonates instead of disintegrating. Each piece(size of a finger) has the explosion power of a hand grenade. Has the slowest growing speed and cannot detonate if broken by other force.
-white: Able to generate light. Size equals brightness, can't grow bigger than someone's head. At that point the crystal is as bright as a searchlight. Emitts a bright flash of light when disintegrating.
Glowstick learned boxing and worked out, he forgot all the moves but he's got good strength and reflexes. Sadly they aren't superhuman.
weaknesses:
-Ability can easily be countered. Hit it with enough force.
-Takes some amount of time to prepare to fight, and once the plan starts going wrong it is hard to recover.
-Needs careful decisions most of the time.
-Cannot switch types of crystals growing-must take hands of for a moment to change crystal type.
Other: He's hero job is secret to his friends/family. He works at a sandwich store in his real life(where he often does not come to work).
