The Story
Long ago, there were two adjacent towns, founded by two witches, both sisters, named Aimee and Adeline. Aimee was a witch of light, and a lover of the daytime, and thus named her town Dawn Springs. Adeline was the opposite. She dabbled in dark arts and loved the night, naming her town Twilight Falls.
For several hundred years, these two towns lived in harmony, shipping resources to each other, helping with each other's development, and even having all of their festivals together in a neutral gathering area known as Noon Meadows.
Unfortunately, over the past century, the two towns have started growing an animosity towards each other. A rivalry grew. They stopped sharing crops with each other, stopped having festivals together, and residents from one town weren't even allowed to visit the others. This infuriated the two witches. They settled these towns so that they residents could help each other, not hate each other. The sister both agreed that until the two towns could get along, they would put a curse on each town. Dawn Springs was now cursed to have eternal sunrise, and Twilight Falls eternal sunset, with Noon Meadows cycling through high noon and midnight.
The young generation, however, has been working to rekindle the relationship between these two towns. Despite rules that say otherwise, younger residents of the two towns meet up in Noon Meadows under the cloak of midnight, in hopes that the new relationships and friendships they are making will show the witches that the towns are making progress.
Dawn Springs
Dawn Springs is a town eternally stuck in sunrise, on the opposite side of Noon Meadows to Twilight Falls. Its main focus is farming, as well as tourism from the hot springs they are named after. In order to get into the town, one must cross a bridge over a river that winds through the whole town. The buildings are in the style of a quaint European village, including several houses and small businesses such as bakeries, tailors, and delicatessens. The climate is typically quite warm and pleasant, getting muggy and humid during the summertime. It is said that the spirit of Aimee rests in the hot springs and will awaken once the towns have made up with each other.
Twilight Falls
On the opposite side of Dawn Springs is Twilight Falls, a town eternally stuck in sunset. While Dawn Springs focuses on farming, due to their lush soil, the residents of Twilight Falls raise animal as well as mine ores in the large mountain they are so famous for. In addition to having several mines, the mountain has a hiking trail leading to the waterfall this town is known for. Surrounding the base of the mountain is the residential area as well as the shopping districts. Unlike Dawn Springs, the buildings here are much more cabin-like, built with thick, sturdy logs to protect against the harsh, cold weather of this town.
Objective
The overall objective of this RP is to rekindle the relationship between the two towns by way of the residents of opposite towns falling in love. This is going to be mostly a romance-focused RP, but, of course, if you just wanna get up to some wacky antics in the towns, that's fine too, I suppose. I will be allowing 10 people in this at first on a first come, first serve basis. No reservations at all. Five main, "romanceable" characters from each town. Relationships will obviously be figured out as the roleplay goes on, and preestablished family, friendships, etc. are totally fine, and encouraged.
Additionally, there will be NPC's that do not participate in the relationship aspect of the RP. Unless specified by the creator, these characters may be used by everyone, however the creator has the right to step in if they believe someone is not using their NPC right. There will be a separate form for NPC's.
Spring Events
Monday, Spring 1st: New Year's Festival (6:00 p.m.-12:00 a.m.)
A Festival held to bring in the New Years. Features a large feast with meals provided by the locals of each town, several sports matches including football, soccer, and field hockey, and a dip in the ice cold lake to end off the night.
Friday, Spring 5th: Cooking Competition (10:00 a.m.-5 p.m.)
Residents from both towns enter dishes to see who is the best cook around. The winner of the competition is voted on by the attendees of the event, and receives a special prize.
Wednesday, Spring 10th: Flower Festival (1:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.)
A festival where the residents from both towns to give each other flowers. Additionally, there is a dance for the couples. The single young adults often ask the person they have a crush on to dance with them.
Each month has 10 days.
