One day I'll become tired of the pirate jokes, not today though.
Fredrick Kidd

Affiliation: Solo hunter.

Gender: Male

Orientation: Hetero

Age: 31 years old

Date of Birth: January 22nd.

Merits

* Beast Within, lurking within lays the beast. Controlling one's beast takes great effort, and luck.
* Potent blood, within his veins lay a doubly potent source of vitae, blessing for some, a curse for him.
Derangements
None, yet.

Nature: Predator
Personality:
It takes a special sort of person to operate as a hunter, fighting creatures that could take off your head with buy a simple swipe of their hand takes brass balls, and even bigger ones to actively go out and rob the bloodsuckers. The latter is what Frederick "Captain" Kidd loves more than the former, the immense collections of antiques, artifacts, gold and jewels the vampires collect are all more worthwhile than the decrepit lives they lead, though it never hurts to help rid the world of a few that get in the way.

That aside, he is an amicable fellow, pays his dues, doesn't get in trouble, maybe dresses up a little too much now and again but what guy doesn't like to feel like a million bucks when he's haggling for a rpg or watching a Toreador lure a new friend into their home for a midnight snack? Discipline and careful planning is needed in all aspects of his life, should he travel light? Bring big guns? Is he prepared for an ambush? A million things must be thought about, accounted for, and set in their place.

In his mind, pessimism can save a life, murphy's law is a fundamental truth and he must always, always, be prepared for the metaphorical shit, to hit the metaphorical fan. because if he isn't, he may as well be dead. And he Isn't willing to be on the dinner menu any time soon. So much so, having been bitten a few times in the past, and decidedly not enjoying the experience, those who find themselves sinking their teeth within find he does not freeze in a state of euphoria, pain, or what have you when the the kindred gives a bloody kiss.

For inside the mind, lurks a beast, perhaps spawned from the years of hunting and slaying monsters, perhaps he was born with it? A hint may lay within the pale aura he holds, something he has had since the very beginning of his life and became very useful with his current career choice, indistinguishable from a kindred when read. A beast, a pale aura, but a heart that still beats.

In summary, greed, caution, nice suits, rage and guns. One might swear he fits into the city already.

History:
The earliest parts of Frederick Kidd's life is largely an enigma, beyond his 2nd year he cannot remember a thing despite his name and a few flashes of memories he cannot begin to place. Naturally he'd chalk it up to exactly how little everyone else remembers, nobody REALLY remembers their first years alive right? For all he knows those nightmares were just nightmares, and that's all they needed to be.

Unknown to him, he was born to a revenant household, the Rafastio, a household that had been the long term target of a cell of hunters. The raid ended badly, naturally, the house was in flames and most of the cell were being torn to shreds. One such hunter had broken into the nursery during a brawl, finishing the battle having applied a blast of 12 gauge to the revenant's head. One of the few casualties during that mission. The hunter, one named Alistair Kidd, found it within himself to do a good deed that day, taking up the child, breaking out a nearby window, and running away as the room crumpled in upon itself from the flames.

Despite his amnesia, he lived for years under the wing on the hunter whom he called father, their life was filled with the hardship and turmoil that if often beset by when one is linked to hunters. Odds were against the boy living left behind in all cases when it came to the act, but being linked to a hunter at all, especially as a child, brought many a problem. As such, from a young age, he was drilled on lessons to protect himself, failsafes, traps, escape routes. these were his bread and butter, along side actual schooling.

But through all this time he never once was told where he came from, even his name was different than the one he was given when he was born. but never was he given true knowledge of who or what he was, his power latent and unused, but the beast still lurks within his mind. When he was old enough, he began working on his lonesome, as his father did before him, while he wasn't certain why his father preferred to work alone he usually got an answer along the lines of "Yea can never trust another man to keep their heads when all goes to hell."

He has had victories, losses, and many, many draws, but he always makes it a point to never leave a battle empty handed, for you never know what you can grab as you make an exit. he has made a point to hide himself well, always be on the move and if he needs to make a safe house, to make damn well certain that it is actually safe.

Appearance:

Standing 6" 5" tall and 183 lbs, muscular as required of his work and life style, he prioritizes being ready for any possible mission and doesn't need his body giving out on him on the regular. Scars number upon the body, a few telling of deep wounds.

He keeps his hair short, beardless, and generally has a weapon or two hidden upon his person no matter the event.

When dressed in civilian clothing he keeps towards what is seen above, suits, generally black, they work at a great number of events and generally are handy if you need to hide something on your person. Plus, he looks pretty good in them.

When it's time to go pay the bills, he wears the article below.

The mask is locked on requiring a key to pop open, a key is kept upon his person in case a situation calls for it but nonetheless the mask/helmet is locked in place.

The mask comes with night vision, a respirator filter, and a good first impression.

Typically carried upon his person is a extending winged mace, made for long use and weighted to cleave a head from it's body with a good strike.

.44 Magnum revolver, sometimes you want to feel like a cowboy, this helps, also really hurts.

Sawed-off double barrel shotgun.

4 flash-bang grenades, two on the front, two on the back. Two on the back has carrying case that when the switch is pressed they drop off his back with the pin pulled, switch is held under a plastic cover for safety reasons, learning from experience on that part. In case of an emergency, flip switch as you run.

2 secret weapons, kept in case of emergencies.

4 stakes placed upon the shoulder mounts.

1 silvered combat knife strapped to his right thigh.

A metal neck brace-like piece or armor, allows for a good range of movement while helping against being bitten in the most common place.

A folding grenade launcher

3 grenades.

A dog whistle.

2 rolls of duct tape

A lighter.

A cigar.

And a pack of skittles.

A curse delivered upon the Rafastio in nights long past has tied them inextricably to the moon. On nights with a new moon in the sky, all attempts to use Disciplines by Rafastio characters suffer as their difficulty increases. On nights with waxing or waning moons, such difficulties aren't as intense, but hampering nonetheless. On nights of the full moon, however, Disciplines become easier to use.

Additionally, no Rafastio can become a vampire by any means; the Embrace never works and all that remains is a bloodless corpse.

yep, I heard theres was a distinct lack of them, I thought I may as well make one.

My character is retired and is a ghoul now but he sticks to his hunter roots. They definitely would know each other

I'm not so certain.

Fred doesn't have (substantial) links to hunting organizations, save for a passing cooperation on occasion, he prefers to keep a low profile and go it solo. He will be coming into town soon hunting for new(hopefully rich) targets, largely because he made a few big purchases recently....

Have to keep the armoury up to date you know.

Though, you can never get rid of some of the classics, I will be running a true list of armaments towards the gms soon. Atleast to have starting out, one must adapt to each hunt.

that said, I prefer having very little connections at the start and building them as the rp progresses. Unless they are truly interesting to do.
