What Makes Them A Freak: The only one who isn't a "freak"
Circus Role: Ringmaster

Biography:
Liam's parents had given the boy to his grandfather where he would be raised. The boy never knew his parents, and he never knew why his parents abandoned him like they did. The boy grew a decent life. He went to school, graduated, went to college. Everything was going great. Until his birthday when he turned 20 years old. This night, the man suddenly felt a piercing pain on the front of his gums. When he touched the area, he felt sharp points. Looking in the mirror, the young man realized why the pain was there. Two sharp fangs protruded from his gums. This was the night Liam had learned what he was, and why he was pushed aside from his parents. Liam had grown until he was 38 years old, working as a lawyer for a large business in New York. At this time, his aging stopped. This is when he realized he couldn't be a lawyer anymore. He had to find a new profession, where he wouldn't be questioned on his age. That's when he moved out of New York and went to Oregon to open up the circus.

Personality: Liam can be mysterious. He doesn't like to open up to many people and he prefers to keep to himself. When he is around other people, he can be very friendly and courteous and he loves to involve others. Liam is not the type of person anyone wants to anger. This is because the man can be violent and irrational, even when he knows he's acting like it.

What Makes Them A Freak:
- Callie was born without eyes in her eye sockets, she will occasionally place synthetic eyes where her eye sockets are when going out into crowds.
- Callie was also born with a full second row of teeth in her mouth.
- Callie's blind, but growing up like this she learned to "see" by 1. feeling around her and 2. making occasional clicking noises much like a bat would.
- When Callie turned 18 she had a procedure done to get her tongue split, like a snake's tongue, she thought it would go great with her already strange face and personality.
- When she turned 20 she added on to her strange features and got all of her teeth pointed and sharpened, they look much like shark teeth.

Circus Role: Animal Trainer

Biography: Callie grew up in an orphanage, given away at a young age and grew up without knowing any of her birth family. She was bullied and treated differently growing up in the orphanage since many of the children found her unusual features creepy or weird. Though her early childhood was rough, she was adopted by a loving family when she was around seven.

From there her life changed, being given a great change of pace and what seemed to be a wonderful change for her life. Callie often likes to talk about her step-parents and how they were wildlife animal veterinarians. She often relates their professions to how she came to enjoy the company of animals so much because she was always surrounded by them growing up.

Personality: Callie has a very, excited and active personality. Even though she can't see, she is very optimistic and happy, but she does have times of occasional deep depression and when that happens she often turns to her animals for comfort.

Other: Most people who come to watch the show don't know that Callie's blind, so on busy night's she'll keep her synthetic eyes out and will instead place a bandana or cover over her eyes so that the audience can only see that her face or eyes are covered. She loves to hear the sound of the crowd when she removes the cover at the end of her act and everyone sees that she actually has no eyes, just empty holes where they should be.

Though Callie is blind she tends to get around fine on her own, though she can get around much faster with her animals around her.

Callie owns A lot of animals and though many travel with her, there a few that stay at home with her step-parents and adopted siblings. When the show comes close to her hometown her family often comes to see her and she will occasionally switch out certain animals so that they get a break from performing.

She also enjoys releasing them once them once they have taken their winged forms.

APPEARANCE ​

What makes her a 'freak'?: She has Chimera over her whole body- where one side of her body looks completely different to the other. Her mother is Scottish and her father was African-American, explaining why her left side has fair skin, blonde hair and blue eyes, and lots of freckles, whereas her right side has darker skin, deep brown eyes and natural hair.

BIOGRAPHY​

Her parents lived in a very small town in Scotland, where the limited amount of people meant that they were not exposed to many differences- everyone was heterosexual, everyone was strictly catholic, and everyone looked normal. Amethyst was none of these; she was a closeted bisexual and does not believe in God, which already would have made her feel as if she was strange and different from everyone. However, she had one massive difference which made her stand out- her chimera, causing her whole body to be split in half, looking like two completely opposite people, combined into one. Her parents were horrified when she was born- although this mutation wasn't a particularly grotesque or ugly one, her parents had never seen anything but normal, and so feared and detested those who were different. They cruelly assumed she must be the work of Satan, and gave her up for adoption to 'rid them of her curse'.

At the orphanage, the workers were harsh and never sugar-coated this story, and told her from a young age that her appearance was what caused her parents to dump her there. This meant that she developed a hatred for her body from very early on. She stayed at the orphanage until she was 16, when she could get her own home. She received council housing and lived with very little food, clothes and interaction with the outside world. She had nothing to do as she kept herself inside, and so would get very bored. She one day tried to balance a chair on her foot out of sheer boredom, and from there on she tried heavier and heavier objects each time, trying to flip them round and even juggle with them. This is how she learnt to be a 'Risley act'. Coincidentally, she saw an advert for a Freak Show Circus being stapled to a lamppost outside her house and so at age 20 (now), she auditioned to be in the circus.

What Makes Them A Freak: Maleko is heavily tattooed and pierced, the outrageous amounts of
body mods easily bothers most people, making him an outcast. He also has a hard time with leaving any
of his culture behind, from Hawaii, which makes for a lot of disagreements, and culture shock.

Circus Role: Tightrope walker

Biography: Maleko grew up in Nanakuli, Hawaii. With his overbearing (but loving) mother and carefree father.
He has four brothers, to which he is the second youngest. He lived in Hawaii until he was twenty two, working
as a performer for a large tourist attraction. He felt trapped in his home, and although he loved Hawaii more
than anything, he needed a change. Maleko left Hawaii, and decided to travel. Each new place held meaning to him,
and so his body was quickly covered in reminders of each place he was. He came to know of the circus by a friend,
and decided that he once again would love to perform for the people, and made his way to Oregon.

Personality: Maleko is both his mother and fathers child. He is stubborn, and often stuck in the ways of his home,
but he is also kind, and carefree. His appearance portrays a look of intimidation; he is anything but. He loves to share
stories, and spread the joy he feels for the world. When not performing he is slow, and relaxed. His aura calm, and his
mind always looking forward to the next adventure.

Other: Maleko is a foodie. He was the closest to his mother, and learned the art of cooking. He will go out of his
way to ensure everyone has a full stomach.​

What Makes Them A Freak: Bonnie was left with almost half her body covered in burn scars after an accident
occurred where a propane tank exploded. The truck carrying the tank had been parked beside a small corner store,
Bonnie and her younger cousin had been buying candy for an after school snack when it exploded.

Circus Role: Knife Throwing / Sword Swallowing

Biography: Bonnie grew up in small town Tennessee, Southeastern US. She was like any other 12 year old until
the accident, afterwards she isolated herself. She lost all of her hair, including her eyebrows and eyelashes, so she
started wearing wigs. To cover up the scars that covered 75% of her face, she began experimenting with different
makeup, and paints. She found a white face paint, made for long exposure, and began covering herself where
ever her skin was exposed (the skin in the picture is too smooth, hers would still look a lot more bumpy and uneven
after application of the paint). The rest of her story will be told in the RP if applicable.

Personality: Bonnie is unhinged, and very erratic. Think of "Bellatrix Lestrange" from Harry Potter, but with less
murder of course. Shes jumpy, energetic, often impulsive.

Other: She always dresses like a clown. No matter the date, weather, or location. The only acception would be for
when she sleeps. She was an apprentice for a well-known clown who specialized in birthday parties, and adopted the
look as a permanent one.​

Circus Role:
Contortionist

Biography:
Marcello was raised in Bognor Regis, England, by his uncle, an erratic, social outcast of a man working as a psychic in the seaside resort’s tourism industry. Growing up beside him allowed for Marcello to embrace the oddities of mankind, including his own rare ability to contort himself into incredible positions. Things began to change however, when at the age of 17 his uncle was arrested for conspiracy to murder after predicting the deaths of 6 people, and Marcello was taken in by local carnivals as a sideshow contortionist attraction. His horns first appeared at the age of 20, sprouting from two premalignant moles on his forehead. Life outside the carnival became difficult for him as he was judged for his physical appearance and was tormented by locals who chose to associate him with the Devil, but fellow carnie sideshow performers encouraged him to embrace his physical quirk. When he heard of a new circus opening up in Oregon, he decided to up and leave the UK and step into a world where he believed he could be celebrated for his talents and unusual appearance.


Personality:
Very focused, March never quits, but rather is always driven by his curiosity to see things through. Can put intense pressure on himself to perform well but despite this he typically exudes a calm and friendly demeanour.​

What Makes Them A Freak: If you watch one of his shows you will know. He. Pops his joints out of socket and doesn't seem to feel pain as he does so. He also seems able to pick any locking device.

Circus Role: Escape artist/Masochist (many of his shows emphasize not only escaping, but suffering while doing so and risking his life in the process)

Biography: Terry Corvak was born 34 years ago in houston texas as the son of a his father a locksmith and his mother a criminal safecracker. The two fell in love after his mother met a safe she couldn't crack and tracked down the maker of it. Terry came soon after they found each other and seemed to live a happy life. As a child he was always fascinated with Harry Houdini and his masterful escapes. And he began practicing at the age of 6. Due to his father owning a locksmith/keymaker shop he had plenty of access to tumblers, locks, chains, safes, etc. By the time he was twelve there was no lock that could hold him back. When automated security systems began grow in popularity he became fascinated with how he could include them in his acts. He has mastered even the most advanced of security systems by the time he was 19 and managed to move to vegas for a show he would do three nights a week for the next 5 years. At the age of 24 Corvak had become a popular name in the vegas strip. His shows would sell out rather quickly. Yet even the most well made towers crumble eventually. For terry it all came crashing down when a particularly ruthless property buyer began to force his family to sell him the shop that had been in their family for over 90 years. When the law failed them Terry took it into his own hands.

He broke into the mans office to steal back he deed. However he was still there. Instead of calling the police the man produced a handgun and threatened to kill Terry. In a panic terry wrestled the gun from him and shot him. Unfortunatly the man survived and terry was sentenced to B&E and attempted murder. Terry was resigned to his fate until he heard that his family lost the store anyway and the man was continuing to do the same to others. So terry managed to escape prison with only a paperclip. After all no lock or system could hold him. Afterwards he immediately sought to finish the justice he had failed to dispense last time. The Cruel man was found dead in his home, suffocated apparently when his bedsheet wrapped itself around his neck in his sleep.

A few days later Hector Houdini arrived at the circus claiming he just wanted a new way to pursue his passion.


Personality: Terry is a calm and seemingly relaxed man. But even the most foolish person could see hat he has secrets. He rarely talks about his past, is a very tough critic on himself and seems to believe that he deserves every misfortune that comes his way. A little on the strange side in many ways, he seems to genuinely like human interaction, but is very shy and nervous. Except when he is performing then a whole new person comes out and he seems to own the stage.

Other: So Far no one is aware that he is actually Terry Corvak and not Hector Houdini, but it wouldn't take much digging to find.

Personality: He's very angry at his parents for sending him away for something he couldn't control. Now at the circus, he mainly sticks to himself and his spider companions. He does have a soft side, but it's more directed to them rather than the cirque family.

Persona: Wen has a no bullshit rule, having a very tell it as it is personality, and never one to sugar coat anything. She rather others to put it all out there than to lead someone on. Having a very black and white kind of perspective that can often cause others to think she always has a stick up her ass. That's not to say she'll never get a joke, though she not really the joking type. She is unpredictable. And independent. She doesn't take kindly to people telling her what to do. Wen isn't one for loyalty though there are a select few who she would help no matter what. Unseen to the public eye she can be quiet loving and silly but only to a select few she deems as worthy. A side most do not get to see too often is that Wen is a bit of a control freak. She can not stand not knowing, and something that is out of her control can and will drive her crazy to the point of driving others around her crazy. Wen doesn't have much tolerance for silliness or others ignorance.

What Makes Them A Freak: Wen is able to pierce any part of her body without feeling any pain or without drawing blood. She has found a way to move her organs so that she is not able to pierce them when doing tricks. Not even Wen knows the amount of physical trauma she can bear till it is too much, but she is willing to go above and beyond.
Circus Role: Impalement Artist, Hook Suspensionist

History: Liu Wen grew up as the youngest child of the Wen family. They were a well-respected family, her father holding a high position within the government and her mother involved in the community. Upstanding members of their community with their children they were perceived as the perfect family. Although that was far from the truth.

Unlike some children, Wen had what she called a gift, although her family saw it as a curse. Believing that Wen was cursed by one of her fathers' rivals. Her gift wasn't very noticeable at first although sometimes an accident would occur where her gift would become visible to the world, thus causing her family to fear her. Liu Wen's father was a terrible drunk, and instead of being aggressive he was like a ghost. Coming home at all hours of the night and leaving in the morning, he might as well been none-existant for Wen. As for her mother, Wen had very little respect for her. Between the little effort, her mother put in to help her father and the absolute disgust she seem to have toward Wen and her sister, Wen found little to look up to. Although her sister was another story, smartest in her class while Wen never started, Wen idolized her sister.

Upon turning 18 Wen left her family as soon as she could. By then ties had been cut after the death of her father, her sister turning against her after her mother filled her head with lies. After months of running, she found refuge within the walls of the circus. Going into hiding, the thought of leaving never once crossing her mind.

Ilia is a very beautiful young lady with blonde hair she bleaches that hangs at her shoulders in vintage waves. She has a very womanly figure with a small waste and a busty chest. She has two outfits she wears during the show. One of them being a long gold dress for the opening number of the show, and one being her costume she wears for her act in the show. She also has a training outfit she is seen in most often.

What Makes Them A Freak: It's almost freak like the way that she interacts with animals. Ilia views all animals as equal. She is able to train an animal quickly and get them to do whatever she wants.
Circus Role: Animal trainer and performer, "talks to animals"

Biography:
Ilia was raised in a small zoo in Oregon as an orphan. The zoo owners adopted her as free child labor to help around the zoo cleaning cages and tending to the animals. She had a pretty nasty childhood filled with neglect. The owners saw that Ilia was almost communicating with the animals. She was able to train them and get them to behave on her command. The owners decided to make a show out of it and have 12 year old Ilia be the star of the show. She became famous around town and news spread about the young girl who could "talk to animals" as the papers said. She performed every day, multiple times a day. Though she was famous for miles and brought in a lot of revenue for the zoo, she was still being abused by her adoptive parents. She was visited one day by Liam the ringmaster. He offered her a way out of her abusive life with an audition into his show he was creating. Against her adoptive parents wishes, she went to the audition hoping for an out.​

Personality:
Despite her past abuse, Ilia is a treat to be around. She's very accepting of all and always keeps a positive attitude. She can also be very silly at times. She absolutely loves performing. She lights up the room during her act. All eyes are always on her, not only because of her beauty, but because she is able to captivate her audience.

Other:
Ilia prefers to perform with her elephant Pixie. They have a special bond no one can take away.​
