Fishy Business (COMPLETED)

The monsters were sent packing. Crash had to stop himself from chasing them down before he got ahead of himself and missed the introduction of the main event. No, with how the giant doors swung open, he couldn't have missed what came next if he wanted to. First he saw darkness, then his ears caught the sound of footsteps. "Oh yes!" He said, letting excitement ride his voice. It was one of the most common things in the video games he played, or the movies he'd watch. You'd fight a ton of enemies - cannon fodder - and then eventually "it" would appear. The head hancho. The Big Boss. "Time for the boss battle!"

And the boss came rushing from the doors, looking every bit the part Crash had expected, and appreciated with a nod. However there was still a part of him that feared the monster for its tremendous size and horrifying face. It attacked with both its shriek and its fists. Crash dashed out of harms way with the aid of his thrusters, grabbing Crunch and tossing him aside. He looked up at the monster. He was very knowledgeable in the arts of defeating monsters when it came to video games. Large, elemental monsters like this usually had a core. Crash just had to find out where it was. And the first place to check would be the head.

With the help of his thrusters, he took to the air as he put away his weapons. Two objects flew out of his wrists that he caught with his hands. A flash grenade and an incendiary grenade. Now he was packing heat.

Earl covered his ears as a horrible shriek came from the cave and out came these weird frog man. The cold was affecting him greatly. He simply watched his teammates as they killed the monsters. He sighed, relieved that the problem disappeared. That was, until a 300 ft monster came through, he did his best to run at the monster and diving headfirst into one of his tentacles, he teared, shredded, and obliterated the tentacle he was on, until he got tossed by the beast. Man, that had hurt, if it wasn't for the snow, he would've broken a couple bones.

Once a plain sheet of ice, the landscape around the cavern had turned into an icy-hell, its master; the great water demon. The demon who had not yet finished its brutal assault on the heroes. Crunch lay on the floor and had visibly pissed off the demon. The crocodile-man had managed to assault one of the tentacles, how would he fair now the beast had shot four of its huge tentacles at him? Each one licking the air with deadly precision and intent.

Meanwhile a huge shadow cast over Mr Meteor and The Savior, blocking out the sun above. The source was an enormous, hideous fist raining down on them, relentlessly following up its previous attack.

This was a nightmare. The association had never imagined the scale of the threat would be so high. Currently this was threat level: Demon, which made the association agent in the helicopter want to pull his hair out. Had they knew this would be the scale of danger they would face, they would've sent more A-class heroes on the mission. There was no point thinking about that now, the agent figured. They - meaning him and the heroes - had to work with what they had and pray for the best. "Those heroes need help. Put me over that monster's head!" Called the agent to the helicopter pilot. Obediently the pilot did so and the side-door to the helicopter flung open. Now protruding from the open doorway, a stinger-missile was pointed straight at the back of the demon, which was so big it appeared out of the cavern below and above the surface. "Hold her steady!" Called the agent, trying to get an accurate aim. *Boom* he did, and a missile went flying creating a fiery explosion in the side of demon's head.

The beast turned irritated and swung its hand at the helicopter, the way a person might try and swat a mosquito. However, unlike mosquito's the helicopter was an easy target and the demon's fist knocked it in the sky, damaging the rear propeller sending the helicopter spinning mid-air with a trail of black smoke following behind. Inside the helicopter, red-emergency lights flashed and the agent fell back like a ragdoll, helpless in gravity's embrace inside the helicopter. "WE'RE GOING DOWN!" Screamed the pilot.

Certain death threatened Crash from above in the form of a fist. He spun and with the aid of his thrusters, managed to avoid the huge fist coming his way. He was losing the momentum from initial jump and he found himself desperately needing to hold on to something. As the monster's fist streamed past him, he slammed a hand down on the arm to push himself up, lucky that the water was dense enough to be used as a foothold. Or handhold. In fact he decided to use the monster's entire arm as a path to reach the head. But once he saw the stinger-missile sticking out of the helicopter, he slowed his pace and waited for the missile to do its job.

But while the missile did damage, it wasn't enough to do anything significant. The monster swung an irritated hand at the helicopter and sent it flying down. Crash needed to act. Now close to the head, he tossed the incendiary grenade behind him. He jumped as the grenade exploded and he was thrown towards the helicopter, thankful that his suit protected him from most of the explosion's effect. The copter spun, giving Crash faint glances of those inside. The spinning of the copter slowed down in his mind and the glances became clearer. With a timed activation of his thrusters he made it inside of the copter, grabbed the helpless agents inside, and left the helicopter.

Crash's feet hit the cavern wall and he used the momentum to run along the wall. He had both agents over his shoulders, tightly gripping the grenade in his hand. "Flash grenade incoming!" He dropped the flash grenade and kicked it towards the monster. It would explode in a brilliant light in an attempt to blind any who looked at it. If it worked against the monster, it would certainly give Mr. Meteor a chance to attack.

The light dimmed in the cavern as the monster suffered from the flash grenade. It began to flail its arms around, clawing anything and everything. While the heroes moved their asses to dodge the attacks, Crash noticed something on the monster's head. A spiralling sphere of blue energy past the damaged mask. The stinger missile and the grenade had to be responsible. Crash thought that the sphere had to be the monster's core. "There! On the right side of the skull!" He said. While the heroes saw and nodded in understanding, the random swing of the arms left the heroes unable to attack. When the monster's eyes recovered, it set its sights on Crash, angry for the blinding grenade. It must have had intelligence just like the frog-demons from earlier. Kill the source of the main problem, Crash smugly thought to himself, guessing what the monster was thinking.

But Crash couldn't dodge such concentrated attacks with the extra weight he was carrying. "Mr. Meteor!" He called out, tossing the agents into the air as a giant fist cast a shadow over him. Mr. Meteor swooped in and grabbed the two agents as Crash used his thrusters to dodge the giant fist. But then came another one, and another one, and another one. A relentless assault. Crash ran along the walls of the cavern, jumped into the air, brought back memories of his gymnastic classes in order to escape certain death. Feeling a tinge of hunger, Crash realized that he was running out of juice. If the suit deactivated, the monster would catch him in seconds. Mr. Meteor came back in little to no time at all, declaring that the agents were in a safe place. With nothing holding the heroes back, it was time to get down to business.

The monster roared as it continued its assault. Crash did its best to draw all of the attention on him. He pulled out a flash grenade and waved it at the monster. The monster flinched, roared in anger, and then quickened the pace of its attacks. Crash even fired knives in an attempt to aggravate it further. And then it happened. Mr. Meteor and Crunch had reached the head and were pummeling the hell out of the poor bastard, leaving it weak and immobile. That confirmed it. That core-looking spiral was the weak point. The absence of pressure allowed Crash to strike. With the aid of his thrusters, he made it to the head with incendiary grenade in hand. He punched into the core and brought his fist out empty, a sick grin playing across his face.

"It's gonna blow!" He announced urgently. Crash moved to jump back but then his suit deactivated, leaving him surprised and in midair, unable to do anything. Before he could curse the suit the hell, Mr. Meteor grabbed him and Crunch and flew them outside of the cavern as it began to collapse to the the explosions and giant fists slamming against the walls. The monster gave one more chilling cry before the grenade exploded. Was it over?
