Character Overview
FC: Adria Arjona

Name: Ximena
Age: 29
Gender: Cis-gender female
Faction: Minuteman

Physical Description
Height: 5'6
Weight: 137
Hair Color: Brown; rarely brushed and often splattered in blood or other unfortunate liquids.
Eye Color: Dark brown
Distinguishing Features: Scars cover her body, from rough housing to near death experiences but none managed to get to her face.
Outfits: Whatever the Minutemen provide.
Additional Gear: Bobby pins always on hand, pre-war knife passed down from her Dad.
Diseases/Ailments: Alcoholism

Skills and Special Abilities
Combat Skills: She likes to keep things up close and personal. Quick on her feet, she's build for speed over strength and is pretty decent at hand to hand combat. Throw a knife in the mix and she can even be deadly.
Survival Skills: During her raider days, she was the go to for the group to keep a steady hand and get into the more difficult safes.
Unique Abilities: She has an uncanny knack for reading the intentions of others, picking up on subtle cues and body language some people may miss. Her intuition serves her well in negotiations and dealing with neutral/aggressive parties.
Weaknesses: She battles between continuing her alcoholism or beating the habit. She's irritable, groggy and can end up sick if she goes a day without a drink and it's a dangerous place to be like that.

Personality:
Ximena's essence comes from a past built on one singular thing. Survival. The downright awful to the mildly decent actions she's shown to the world have been built on the back of the very thing most people are just attempting to do nowadays. She keeps that in mind when she comes across others, no matter the circumstance.
Traits:
Good: Loyal, intelligent, quick thinking
Neutral: Bold, charismatic, ambitious
Bad: Impatient, confrontational, vulgar
Fears: Claustrophobic
Goal: Rebuild a safe community
Habits: Picks the skin of her lip, sharpens her knife when she's bored

Background

Ximena was born to Raider parents, her early years just lesson after lesson of the cruelty that Commonwealth had in store for people unfortunate enough to be born there. The family that raised her thrived on fear and force, stripping the weak of everything—hope included. As she grew, every raiding party honed her skills, sharpening instincts but little by little began to eat away at some parts of her humanity.

There were few in between who were able to stay a Raider and keep that sort of spirit within them. Her uncle, Midas was at least the only she could recall who didn't relish taking human life. He worked as a medic for the group, using his knowledge of healthcare he was able to read from a few pre-war books. He did his best to instill some values into his niece before his passing when Ximena was around fourteen years old. The group insisted it was an accident, that he took a stray bullet from an opposing group while out in a hunting party healing up some other members.

She was never too convinced.

She continued to age and life went on, the plundering beginning to wear her down. She started drinking at an early age, and realized it was another thing to help numb and pass her days. Barely a month after her nineteenth birthday, she finally had enough. A brutal attack on a defenseless settlement marked a turning point. Amid the chaos of screaming and gunfire, she locked eyes with a girl much younger than herself. Eyes wide and bluer than any she'd ever seen. She had no weapon, just some old raggedy stuffed bear someone might have made out of spare cloth.

She lowered her gun, intent on telling her to run until the bang of another gun nearby rang out and a large wound appeared in the center of her chest, right along with the cheers of her "family".

That night, under the cover of darkness, she slipped away from the camp and never looked back. The band, once her own kin, now marked her as prey but she was quick and sneaky enough to cover her tracks. She made it close enough towards the city where they wouldn't bother to try her with security around, and she waited them out.

She was content for a couple years, running jobs and heading out to do whatever she could stomach mentally and physically to make money. She didn't kill unless she was threatened, and that was enough to help her sleep at night.

Background

“The only thing certain in the wastes, is death. You can't even predict the circumstances in which you die.”

Julian Tucker was born to a poor family on the outskirts of Boston who farmed the land for measly gains. It wasn't a life worth living most days, and in the wastes nothing is certain. One day raiders came and pillaged the farm, short sighted brutes. They stole everything and killed everyone, everyone except Julian who was in Diamond City at the time trading what little extra they had for his medicine.

When he returned he was too tired to cry, too tired to bury the bodies of his family. He slept in the burnt ruins of his former home, and when he awoke a strange man hovered over him. He figured this was the end, but the man offered his hand. Julius took it hesitantly and thus a life long friendship was forged. He traveled the lands with the man, learning how to survive and thrive. Learning the trade of bounty hunting for money, how to track a target, and how to kill.

Many years passed and the man became old and frail, eventually passing from this world peacefully. This would be the last time Julian witnessed such an event, for now he was on his own and sought a life for himself. He set up shop in the Boston Commonwealth taking contracts from those who sought revenge against the wicked without the means to pursue it themselves.

Fears: Ava is afraid of failure. Terrified that one day she will expose herself, her truth and her Vault, risking and possibly even killing her people.
Goal: Ava's current missions is intelligence; she is simply seeking out information to send back to her Vault for their own use.
Habits: Ava is never without her gear, even in private places or intimate moments with others; she will always have her gear with her, it will never leave her sight and she will never part with any of it ... willingly
History:

True Background:
Ava grew up inside the Vault long after the doors had opened and their small town built up. Children and youth were not allowed on the surface as it was too much of a risk they would expose the Vault accidentally or innocently to anyone visiting their town and purveying their wares. Ava did not experience the surface until her first mission.
Like all children born to Vault 44, she was trained in subterfuge, infiltration, multiple languages, the art of blending in with locals, and, thanks to their intel from returning scouts, what to expect on the surface.

At 18, Ava was sent on her first mission to the surface. A relatively routine mission of infiltrating a township, gathering all necessary information on security, politics and any news beyond the township and returning home. It should have been a simple mission, however, as they arrived at the town she was meant to infiltrate, she found it under attack by Raiders.
Other fledgling operatives would have turned back to the Vault empty-handed, but not her. Determined to complete her mission and start her career on the surface with success, Ava infiltrated the Raiders instead and returned to their camp once they were done with the township.

There she completed her mission, collecting information for her Vault and when the Raiders left their camp to attack another township, she collected everything of value she could carry from the Raiders camp and returned to her Vault in triumph.

This was the beginning of an illustrious career for Ava.

Background that is shared with others:
She grew up in a one-well town just south of Philadelphia. She lost both her parents at a young age and was taken in by her next of kin, an uncle and his wife and kids. Her early years were nothing to write home about but then one day a travelling group of bandits passed through their town and she was swept up in the thrill of it. She couldn't stay and continue farming with her family so she packed what few belongings she had and followed them. She learned everything else from the world, including her well-trained eye as a sniper.

Vault 44 - Covert Ops

e0220d6ed9d3ccda0bbabb3541d046e4.jpg

Pre-War

During the Sino-American War, the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation carried out a clandestine program known as Operation: Vigil. Fearful that the various “Chinatowns” in cities across North America were host to Chinese spies and saboteurs, the FBI began recruiting handpicked Chinese-American citizens and screening them extensively for loyalty to the United States. Once vetted and trained, these operatives were inserted into Chinese-American enclaves to act as informants and -- on occasion -- assassins targeting “dissident elements” and Chinese government sympathizers on domestic soil.

In 2067, construction of Vault 44 began. While ostensibly a safe haven in the event of a nuclear apocalypse like the other Vaults, in truth there was a deeper purpose behind 44. The Vault was a joint operation between the federal government and Vault-Tec. Almost all residents were of Asian-American descent, many of them veterans of Operation: Vigil along with their families. The residents and their future children would be trained extensively in survival, espionage, and combat, as well as Chinese language and customs.

The intent behind Vault 44 was to open in the wake of the atomic war and provide what remained of the American government with a pool of able-bodied covert operatives. Ideally, they could be deployed in secret to mainland China in order to assess the country’s state of affairs following a nuclear exchange and report back. Alternatively, many American military planners feared a reality wherein China weathered the atomic storm far better than America before launching a full-scale invasion during the aftermath. In such an event, the residents of Vault 44 would instead be used to infiltrate and carry out guerilla warfare raids against occupying Communist forces.

Post-War and Vault Opening

As the bombs fell, the residents crowded into Vault 44 and cut themselves off from the outside world and their indoctrination began. Generations passed and none who remained in Vault 44 had seen the outside world beyond holo-tapes; many residents suggested that their attention turn toward matters of survival and cohabitation. However, the Overseer insisted on maintaining their training regimen, thus ensuring that the looming Communist menace remained an omnipresent fear in the years prior to the doors being opened.

Two centuries passed before the incumbent Overseer selected the best of the best to scout outside and report back everything they could. As expected the very first of their scouts didn’t make it back; their followers were more cautious. The world wasn’t quite what they had expected - there had been no winners to the war. Not the Russians, not the Chinese. Not even themselves. All that was left were the survivors.

This news was devastating for the residents and Overseer alike. There was no country to serve and no enemy to infiltrate. Their time and effort in training were all for naught. It was then that the Overseer came up with a plan of action: they would use their carefully honed skills to ensure the survival of their own people. He knew that releasing the Vault-Dwellers into the wastelands would only bring certain death and if they opened the doors publicly, marauders would come to take everything they had.

Little by little, the Overseer and his inner circle built up a small township around the vault, burying its doors beneath the church. The town is a sorry sight: broken-down walls surrounding its exterior hardly even keeping the mole rats out, let alone Raiders. A few market stalls stand outside the main walls where disguised Vault-Dwellers peddle their wares: fresh, rad-free vegetables and water, repairs on gear and weapons and occasionally a rare item from the vault to entice some funds through their meagre market.

Micaiah "Mick" Solomon

FC: Regé-Jean Page

Name: Micaiah Solomon
Nickname: Mick, only if you're close to him
Age: 32
Gender: Male
Faction: Wastelander, Ex-Raider

Physical Description
Height: 5’11”
Weight: 165 lbs
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Dark Brown

Distinguishing Features: A tattoo on his chest that reads “Come in Peace or Leave in Pieces” around a closed skeletal fist.

Outfits: Brown cargo pants that have seen better days paired with a thin shirt that might have once been white-ish, which is under a long-sleeve reddish poncho/hoodie that might, honestly, just be a rag with sleeves. On top of all that is a long brown leather coat that he swears is just brahmin leather (honest!) and a brown and tan shemagh. This fashion disaster is topped off with tough brown fingerless gloves and sturdy but well-worn leather shoes that he might have stolen off a corpse but you can't prove it. He carries a backpack, two canteens, and a smaller bag at one hip. He has shoulder holsters for his pistols underneath his coat, and his melee weapon hangs at the opposite hip. Finally, he has goggles that are good as sunglasses and for blocking debris. They're not high tech or anything fancy, but just the right size.

Weapons: A pair of laser pistols with long barrels with medium night-vision scopes (named Mahā and Devah), a compound bow (named Whoops), and crowbar with a half of a saw blade welded to it with the words "Surprise, Motherfucker" carefully painted on the side of the blade (named, as you could guess, Surprise).

Additional Gear: Basic survial gear. The rest is TBD.

Diseases/Ailments: None. Micaiah is remarkably healthy and with no addictions.

Skills and Special Abilities
Combat Skills: Proficient with energy weapons, bows, and melee weapons

Survival Skills: Stealth, lockpicking, sleight of hand, and general larceny of any kind

Unique Abilities: Micaiah is so good at moving silently, its almost uncanny. Years spent sneaking around ruins and acting as his crew's eyes and ears while staying out of sight ingrained in his muscles the memory on how to keep quiet and unseen.

Weaknesses: Insomnia.

b11b8b9668c23858d8365017c6ea5d09a0b7bfbf.gifv

Personality
Traits: Loyal, Generous, Iron-Willed | Idealistic, Reserved, Sarcastic | Cynical, Moody, Paranoid

Fears: Being caught and tortured by raiders. He finds ghouls uncomfortable to look at but is not necessarily afraid of them.

Goal: Avoiding payback from raiders for as long as possible.

Habits: Making dice by carving or filing down material he finds. He carries a small whittling knife, file, and etching tool for this purpose. He has a small pouch of them he carries around, and will occasionally give them to people as gifts - especially kids and the sick or injured.

He also sometimes talks to his weapons, which is why all of them have names. Judge silently, don't ask why, don't give him any lip about it, and mind your own business.

Background
Born well after the bombs fell to a struggling Wastelander family, Micaiah got sucked into the life of being a raider when he was 17. He ran with the crew (The Crimson Jackals) for nearly a little over a decade before his conscience caught up with him. It took a lot of bloodshed, a lot of threats, and a lot of running, but Micaiah got out and walked away from the raider life. He doesn’t feel safe settling down permanently anywhere just in case any of his old raiding “buddies” or former targets caught up with him, so he tends to move from settlement to settlement. He’ll stick around long enough to rest up, tend to his needs, restock, have a little fun, but eventually he always moves on. Occasionally he’ll re-visit someplace he’s been before but not for months if he can help it.

Additional Gear: plasma rifle ( its something she had at raven rock and she doesn't want to part with it)

She was educated to the best pre war education the enclave still had and of course trained to fight to reclaim America from the mutants that had over run it. Those mutants being the super mutants and ghouls not the people as like most people she favored cornel autumn's idea of taking wastes and not killing everyone. Her life would pass till she was 15 when the lone wanderer lead to the end of raven rock at the hands of the computer president. Nicola was in one of the deeper chambers that stored failed FEV experiments, well illnesses created with FEV. What exactly happened if a haze and honestly Nicola had to be told everything as all she remembers is there was an explosion and fire and everything went dark. Fate smiled on Nicola, maybe given her current life, and instead of being killed she was just critically injured. The Enclave while mostly fleeing did manage some search and rescue operations and Nicola was one of those found. She was air lifted to another base though not the airfield that would be destroyed months latter.

Nicola would wake up in a medical facility shortly before the destruction of the airbase and heard of the destruction of seemingly the last strong hold for the enclave. It would be some time before the survivors figure out what they were going to do and during that time Nicola helped create her power armor using older hellcat patterns ranforced with modern armor. The group would in the end decide to disband as they had no contact with anyone else and there was no way to rebuild, this was the end. Nicola being orphaned in the explosion would leave on her own in her power armor deciding to seek out old world technology that could help her. This has lead her to become interested in the makers of synths.

Faction: Ex-NCR, now Wasteland Survivor

Physical Description
Height:
5'11'' / 180cm
Weight: 140 lb / 64 kg
Hair Color: Dirty blonde
Eye Color: Blue
Distinguishing Features: Multiple laceration and puncture scars on the extremities suffered mainly during the time in NCR from Legion members or the young deathclaws, singular big scorch/burn mark on the back caused by covering someone from explosives.
the-friedturkey-ranger013.jpg

Outfits: Modified and patched up NCR ranger uniform. The NCR insignias were either covered with something else or removed entirely.
Additional Gear: The three guns he never goes without. His .357 Magnum, a sawed-off shotgun, and his lucky Luccy as he calls it an SVD Dragunov sniper rifle that he found and repaired.
Diseases/Ailments: Not exactly, while Justin can be called healthy and won't require stim packs, he does have a hard time sleeping, and if he falls asleep it's only for short amounts of time, caused by his mental scarring. Might be developing PTSD. Shot in the hip long ago, and touched a nerve so sometimes his leg locks up, and walks as if on a peg leg

Skills and Special Abilities
Combat Skills:
Long and mid-range combat, trap making, explosives expert, decent thrower.
Survival Skills: Medicine, repair, maintenance, scavenging, scouting, animal husbandry.
Unique Abilities: None
Weaknesses: Insomnia and beginnings of PTSD. Left leg sometimes locks up making it hard to move.

Personality
Traits:
Loyal, Patient, Diligent | Open-hearted, Floridian, Flexible | Overly Affectionate, Tends to beat over the bush, Gambles with his life too easily
Fears: Death of those he cares about more so than his own death but still, Him going full crocodile dundee on a deathclaw again since the last time he nearly died.
Goal: Find a new good reason to live, help some folk in need on the way, and most importantly find a fight worth dying for.
Habits: Tends to sleep in almost full gear using his shotgun as a pillow. Usually takes potshots at anyone wearing anything remotely resembling the Legion outfits.

Background

Justin was found in a case that had the name Justin written on its side by one of the NCR rangers from the ranger station Echo in the Mojave desert. What was a few months-old baby doing in a case in the middle of nowhere where the only living beings where the ghouls, deathclaws, the legion, and this singular ranger station of NCR members? To this point, it is something neither he nor the people who found him and raised him know, though considering the dead body of a vault dweller who had the case's handle tied to his arm there are some guesses. The NCR rangers in the station Echo took good care of him, well as good as a bunch of rangers could do, especially if two of them were ghouls. Thankfully for Justin out of the 10 people stationed there, 2 of them used to be parents, and by substituting normal milk with Brahmin milk they made do. Years passed Justin grew up with his weird family, of course, trained the boy and said what to do and what not to do, but he was curious sort, so a few times he would sneak out and look around, at one point he sneaked out between the deathclaw nest and the legions camp, and boy was that a not so smart thing to do. The boi came back with several wounds on his body, how he was alive was a mystery even for him, perhaps his small body helped him guide the deathclaws that were trying to hunt him down to the legion camp and scram from there. After that whole situation, and after patching up the boy they sent him to the NCR HQ, the reason being simply too many dangers near their station for a little boy, and since he is so determined to keep getting himself in such situations, they decided that he needs proper training first and maybe he will change his mind. From the time of being found to the time he left the NCR Justin spent 29 years with the NCR, as a little kid, as a recruit, as their soldier, and as one of their rangers, but everything ends someday.

Justin had enough of honestly enough of his superior's orders, and his attitude. "No dogs at the base or anywhere at all! Ghouls aren't friends, feral or not! There is no such thing as intelligent deathclaws!" Honestly, Justin didn't know much about the third thing his superior always berated him about, Justin literally had the files of the Enclave doing an experiment trying to achieve it at some point before scrapping it after being successful. So he just packed up his things, wrote a letter of him quitting, nailed the thing on the door to the cafeteria, and left in the cover of the night.

He spent some years after that just wandering the Mojave desert before deciding to move to the Boston area, it was a long trek there and it would have been a boring one if he had not encountered and later on traveled with an ex-enclave member there, her name is Nicola but he prefers calling her Nic, it rolls down the tongue easier. Helping her find her own self again kinda became Justin's personal little mission for now.

Are you ready to survive the Wasteland Justin Case?

Vicente "Vic" Alcaraz

Overview

FC or Artist Credit:
Diego Boneta
Age: 29
Gender: Male
Faction: Brotherhood of Steel (Appalachian Chapter) | Blue Ridge Caravan Company

Physical Description

Height: 6'5"/196cm
Weight: 240 lbs./109 kg
Hair Color: Dark Brown
Eye Color: Hazel
Distinguishing Features: A ragged scar is present over Vic’s right eye, extending down from the brow and across his upper cheekbone.

55b7e36ee0a309589109133a031a72b5ad97ee4d.gif

Equipment

Outfits:
Vicente's standard attire consists of a Brotherhood-issued "body-glove" jumpsuit, padded hood, black mechanic’s gloves, and dark leather combat boots. This outfit offers scarce protection on its own, but it allows him to slip easily in and out of the frame of his power armor whilst also keeping him cool and sparing him some degree of fatigue on lengthy patrols.

However, Vicente’s primary defense comes in the form of a suit of jerry-rigged power armor. At its core is a power armor frame – or “skeleton” – which he wears whenever possible out in the field. Once belonging to a suit of gleaming T-51b armor, the frame has seen better days after years of service and many intense skirmishes. The outer layers of armor have long-since been stripped away: rendered useless by the punishment they endured. Alcaraz has refurbished the frame itself, focusing on keeping its power supply and hydraulics running while replacing the old plating with bits of scrap metal and salvaged body armor wherever and whenever he can. The end result is not pretty, but functional all the same – the power armor increases his strength to prodigious levels, grants him a modest resistance to both ambient radiation as well as most physical attacks. The armor is also covered with various forms of webbing and pouches for carrying supplies.

Additional Gear: Vicente was granted a Pip-Boy upon reaching the rank of Knight in the Brotherhood of Steel and he maintains it to this day.

Alcaraz’s primary weapon is a magazine-fed, select-fire .308-caliber automatic rifle. Its considerable weight, length, and recoil make it somewhat cumbersome to fire from the shoulder… except when wearing power armor. He also carries a 12.7mm pistol strapped to his leg, along with a combat knife that he carries either on his opposite leg or slid into his boot.

His rucksack contains the basic essentials for surviving on the trail: food & water, a compass, small amounts of medical supplies, rope, a fire-building kit, etc.

2243cac4703f8690015f1306f302d7be.png

Skills & Special Abilities

Combat Skills:
Vicente is a competent albeit unexceptional marksman with any small arm he is likely to come across, but his time in the Brotherhood has granted him a knack for wielding heavier weapons which have been his focus as of late. His large frame, natural athleticism, and a lifetime fighting for scraps have made him a fierce combatant in close combat even without the aid of his power armor.

Survival Skills: Vic is a skilled tracker and outdoorsman with a good grasp of how to survive on the trail and beyond the walls of civilization. His time spent as a Knight in the Brotherhood revealed a talent for scavenging, repairing, and maintaining various mechanical equipment from weapons to power armor.

Weaknesses: Moderate thalassophobia and mild post-traumatic stress disorder – both of which have gone undiagnosed.

Personality

Traits
:

+Steadfast
+Resourceful
+Just

~Straightforward
~Cautious
~Stoic

–Overbearing
–Undiplomatic
–Stubborn

Fears: As a victim of moderate-to-severe thalassophobia, Vicente is deeply afraid of large bodies of water. Anything large enough to submerge a person is liable to spur intense anxiety for the man – even when he lays eyes on it from a distance. While he is capable of functioning around smaller water sources, the same is not true for lakes, rivers, and the ocean – all of which are intense triggers for him. The idea of approaching – much less stepping in – such bodies of water is nearly unthinkable for him.

Goal: Vic wants nothing more than to complete his mandate from the Brotherhood and in doing so, elevate his status within the close-minded organization. Though it would be a lie to say that he does not also enjoy the idea of proving his Chapter’s Elder down a peg by returning from his presumed suicide mission successful and intact, he does his best to keep this emotion from clouding his judgment.

Habits: When he is experiencing a scarce moment of safety, Vicente often peels off his hood to run his hand through his hair. He also frequently rubs at the back of his neck when he’s feeling anxious. He is well aware of this habit and has tried – unsuccessfully – to break himself of it.

He keeps a small sketchbook in his ruck and when he has the time and inclination he will occasionally fill it with whatever catches his fancy: landscapes (often vague attempts to picture what his surroundings looked like before the War), portraits of those he’s known and lost, and more. Though time, trial, and error have made him a fairly deft artist he does not often share this hobby with others unless he trusts them.

Background

Georgia was hit hard by the bombings that ended the War and the world as humanity knew it. Much of its capital city of Atlanta was reduced to rubble and the various military installations dotting the state were also prime targets of Chinese ICBMs. Between the nuclear blasts and ensuing fallout, millions died… but not all. In the wake of the apocalypse, pockets of survivors appeared and began to form their own new communities.

One of these communities banded together in the barrier islands along the coast of Georgia. Using the old Civil War-era Fort Pulaski as their nexus, these refugees survived and even thrived by fishing, hunting, and scavenging what they could from nearby Savannah. Over time, they began to venture out further toward Atlanta and beyond, eventually establishing contact with the nascent Blue Ridge Caravan Company as well as what later became the Appalachian Chapter of the Brotherhood of Steel – forming a symbiotic relationship with each.

Vicente was born in Fort Pulaski centuries after the bombs fell, his father a fisherman and his mother a hunter/scavenger. The family struggled to make ends meet, forcing Alcaraz to begin working from a young age: joining his mother on dangerous expeditions to hunt, trap, and scout in the untamed wilderness. Even still, their debt piled up and soon enough the Blue Ridge Caravan Co. came calling to collect. Shortly after his twelfth birthday, the youth was unwillingly “apprenticed” to the Company in exchange for them settling his parents’ debts on the promise that “a hungry kid is a harder worker and better shot, because he doesn’t have a choice to be anything but”.

Vic spent the next several years as little more than an indentured servant to the pragmatic merchant outfit, assisting them with a variety of menial tasks before his talents were fully recognized and he was instead trusted to serve as an armed guard & route surveyor. When his contract was finally fulfilled, Vicente returned to the Islands in hopes of rejoining his family. If he had been hoping for a warm welcome, he was disappointed as his Jet-addled parents greeted him with a sort of mild neglect before beginning to work angles on how best to use the teen to feed their habit. They never got the chance.

Days after Vicente’s return, Fort Pulaski was attacked. Not by raiders or feral ghouls or any threat they had faced countless times before. Instead, the ocean tide surged and a black shape appeared beneath the water before surfacing. A sea monster worse than any legend or holo-tape could have conjured up lumbered up and out of the abyss with ravenous intent, flanked by dozens if not hundreds of mutated crustaceans. The walls which had once been intended to repel Union artillery offered no protection to the Fort’s occupants. The leviathan and its horde swept across the fort and its surrounding communities, devouring all in sight before returning to the murky depths like a force of nature.

Vicente was one of the few survivors. The traumatized youth was discovered by a Brotherhood patrol dispatched to answer the settlements’ distress calls. When a sympathetic Paladin offered the boy a place within their ranks, Alcaraz accepted. He threw himself single-mindedly into his training and studies as an Initiate, rising quickly to the rank of Knight. Following acts of bravery during operations in the field, he has recently been recognized as a Paladin. Vicente used his new platform to campaign for the Brotherhood to take a more active role in serving & protecting the smaller communities across the East Coast, earning goodwill and expanding their recruitment pool in the process. Though his arguments were supported by some within the Appalachian Chapter, most of the conservative hardliners – including the Elder – soon came to see the young Paladin as a rabble-rouser and upstart.

Unwilling to demote or exile him outright and risk a mutiny within their ranks, the Elder has instead offered Vicente a “special mission”. He is to join a Blue Ridge Caravan Company expedition headed north up the East Coast – into uncharted territory. In the process, he must seek to reestablish contact with any other Chapter(s) of the Brotherhood that yet remain… as it has nearly been a generation since the Appalachian Branch has heard from their comrades-in-arms across the States. Alcaraz has accepted the mission and though the road hasn’t been kind, it has led him to what was once the outskirts of Boston…

Habits: Sporadic Drug usage, He'll be shooting up Med X and huffing Jet one week, then won't touch it again for a month. He also whistles, A lot. He constantly rubs at his Face and scratches at any blemishes he has when there's nothing for him to do.

Background
Lukas was born to the tribe known as the Hangdogs in the ruins of the old city of Denver, They were a violent tribe that worshipped and had an affinity for Dogs, Hence the name. He grew up with the tribe for a few years, until they were conquered and assimilated by the Legion in the conquest of Colorado. The Tribe's dogs were burned, condemning them (according to the Hangdogs' religion) to be eternally burned in the afterlife. This struck deep with the Tribe, who accepted the Legion's rule afterwards, and Lukas was a Legion slave for years afterwards.
Eventually, he was liberated by the Desert Rangers in a raid in Northwestern Arizona, He then served with the Rangers in Northern Nevada, Assisting them with their duties and eventually fighting with them; He fought mostly out of Rage rather than a deep-seated desire to help those in need, like many of his peers. He was present for the signing of the Ranger Unification Treaty, and while he wasn't terribly fanatic about the NCR at first, the extra firepower was a welcome change. Soon after, And despite many Ranger deployments south, He was assigned to the Northern Campaigns, and fought for many years in the brutal north, at first the northernmost reaches of California, Then beyond. He enjoyed fighting, and sustained many injuries during his service; While he wasn't always keeping up with who exactly they were fighting (much less why), He became in fanatical favor of the NCR and its Imperialism. Although he enjoyed fighting in the North, and became accustomed to it, He sometimes yearned to fight the legion in the south; And for a moment, He though that time had come. Just as he had began to tire of the monotony of his situation, his detachment's FOB came under siege, and nearly the entire force was wiped out. Save for Lukas. He wandered, dazed, miles south, arbitrarily giving up hope of returning to the fighting or relaying the fate of his comrades; Eventually, countless months later (He couldn't really tell), He wandered into a Ranger office a few miles north of Sac-Town; Upon asking about being transferred south, he was met with puzzled looks. Fighting the Legion? The Northern Campaigns? 'Calling back to Shady Sands' for guidance? These seemed like foreign concepts. Or things from the long past. He was lost on what to do, and with no other ideas, he began blindly walking east. For years he walked. Couldn't of been more than two or three, but it felt like thirty.
Then he ended up here.

Background

Jackie grew up with humble means in Boston. His earlier life was nothing out of the ordinary for an average American citizen at the time. He attended college, studying Marxism and Slavic history extensively. By the time he graduated, the geopolitical war had reached new heights in 2065. The government sought him out for his Russian and American knowledge, believing he could be an intelligence asset with proper training. So, he moved to Washington D.C. to train and become a proper spy. Even though the United States was allied with the Soviet Union, and united against China in the Sino-American war, he became a valuable asset for intelligence gathering. He traveled to Moscow often, and attended upper-class meetings and various events to intercept and retrieve information. His work with the USSR turned out to be less vital, with the need for Chinese intelligence greater than that of the Soviets. It was clear by the mid-2070s that the War was looking unfavorable. With Vault-Tec starting construction at home, he decided to focus his efforts on the homefront. He began to lead communist demonstrations, emphasizing the importance of community and the power of the people. Being government-affiliated led to security issues, which ultimately did not boil to a head before 2077. The year of the Great War.

There was a scheduled demonstration that day, on the Capitol grounds, to protest Congress's recent transgressions in Alaska. Jackie was on the Mall that morning, helping check in organizers and facilitate a peaceful start. However, the news of Pennsylvania and New York's bombs ruined the day. Immediately, panic ensued in the District. Anyone who could run ran as far as they could. Vaults and government official shelters refused to let those who lacked status in. Fights and riots began, all within a matter of minutes, for survival. Before anything could be done, it was over in an instant. Washington had been hit...

When Jackie awoke, he hadn't a clue of the scope of damage or disarray the world was in. He was discovered under the collapsed Smithsonian tunnels in the Mall, 20 years after the bomb was dropped. The Enclave began restoration, which was how he was found. It was unclear how he survived, but the price he paid was all too great. He was burned beyond repair, radioactive, and a relic of a forgotten world. He was a broken man... He lost count of the years, time having no significance anymore because life itself meant nothing. The government failed him, his society failed him, and the world failed him. All of his work, to protect what he thought was just and right in this world, was obliterated in a matter of minutes. He didn't stay in Washington D.C. for long after his recovery, hating everything the city stood for. So, he became a drifter.

For most of his time, he traveled aimlessly up and down the Eastern coast. The only compass that guided him was his hate for the world and the animalistic need for survival. He learned he was known as a ghoul, stigmatized, and treated less than. Throughout his drifter days, he was forced to live completely alone and face difficult moral dilemmas. He spent his time as a smuggler and guide for transporting goods or people. It was very unfulfilling and menial work to just get by. Ultimately, his life changed once he reached his hometown, Boston. In 2266, Jackie found himself in trouble with the Minutemen. After a brief interrogation, the group quickly learned it was evident they were dealing with an unusual ghoul. Once his past was revealed, they made quick work to recruit him into their ranks. For a time, Jackie enjoyed the sense of purpose. He enjoyed the community, the society, and the belonging he had. However, the Quincy Massacre and the institutional fallout from the lack of leadership disrupted his peace. It was clear, to him, not everyone saw eye-to-eye on equality. With the newfound discovery of Synths and being a Ghoul, Jackie wanted no part of a group who simply wished to police. So, using the event as a scapegoat, assisted in the massacre before deserting the group.

As usual in his life, one thing led to another and he stumbled upon the Railroad. He felt it was more suited to his skillset with a better mission. Here, he felt more equal than he ever did as a member of the Minutemen. So, since the 2270's, he's been a loyal HQ ranking member in the Railroad operations.
