  I've been writing solo and role playing since I was a bitty tween. I'm nearly 21 now, and I've expanded my artistic interests into drawing and crafting as well, but I still love writing fiction. I'm currently unemployed, so I have nothing but free time. I would like to keep to a consistent sleep schedule, though; time zone is US Central.
  
  
  Worldbuilding is important. I write almost exclusively fantasy. You might be able to entice me with a unique sci-fi plot, but I'm much more flexible with a fantasy setting, preferably something that doesn't mirror Tolkien too closely. Subgenres like steampunk and modern fantasy are great, too. I don't do mundane modern settings.
  
  
  I can play just about any kind of character-- any gender, species, sexuality, bust size, whathaveyou. If we're writing in a setting that resembles the real world, though, I'm most comfortable writing a white or Hispanic character.
  
  
  I adore inventing new species or unique individuals. Your monster x human fantasies have a home here, especially if I can get weird with the design (because my watery boy Tom needs a honey).

  I'm looking for a partner who takes pride in their craftsmanship. I'm not going to get mad at typos, but if I have to remind you of the basic rules of grammar and role playing, it's probably not going to work out. Please contact me if you:
  
  
  • Show instead of tell
    
  • Create characters with histories that affect their presents
    
  • Actively insert and respond to hooks in posts
    
  • Communicate OOC when you're stuck
    
  • Lay out a basic plot before writing

  I write as a form of escapism-- while I enjoy conflict as much as anyone does, dismal settings and incessant angst will turn me right off. Detailed gore is fine, but best in moderation.
  
  
  Romance is encouraged, but I will not force a romance on characters who are not compatible. If you want a pairing, we should work out our characters' personalities beforehand so they have chemistry.

  A few ideas to get the creative juices flowing.
  
  
  • A city built between the walls of a canyon. There is no more room to expand outwards, so the buildings stretch taller and taller toward the center. Bridges hang between the tops of towers and windows double as doors more often than not.
    
  • A magic system based on statues. As long as you have a token that connects to a certain statue, you can cast that statue's spell, but it will take some time for the spell to travel to you from wherever the statue is. You can tell where a person has been by the tokens they've collected. Spellcasters go on pilgrimages to collect spells from all over the world.
    
  • Shadow sprites. Their size changes as the sun rises and sets. They have a difficult time interacting with "civilized" people because all the buildings and furniture tend to stay the same size.

  Brief bios of some characters I'd like to play with.

  Species: Human
  
  
  Orientation: Straight
  
  
  Setting: Clockpunk, maybe steam or diesel
  
  
  Personality: Cynical, paranoid, stubborn, inventive, intelligent, driven, disorganized, forgetful
  
  
  History: The airship that carried him and his father crashed in the wilderness. His father died protecting him from a bear that pursued them. Now he suffers vivid nightmares and takes a potion that can keep him awake for weeks at a time. The only reason he sleeps even once a week is because the Guild will revoke his license if he doesn't. His brother, Maevus, is convinced that Isail caused the crash and spent years trying to draw a confession out of him. Isail became an apprentice to the wizard Foranx after his father's death. Foranx encouraged Namli, his other apprentice, to form a bitter rivalry with Isail. The whole process made them both accomplished wizards, but Isail emerged from the apprenticeship paranoid and distrustful.
  
  
  
  Goltommer "Tom" Ros
  
  
  Species: Water construct. He manifests in water, but his source of life is a large book in which the spell that defines him is written. He can form himself into something resembling a human, but he is uncoordinated and finds it very difficult to say anything more than a few halting words.
  
  
  Orientation: Bisexual
  
  
  Setting: Flexible, but likely pre-industrial
  
  
  Personality: Gentle, nurturing, self-critical, lonely, competitive, gullible, naive, frustrated
  
  
  History: Tom was created by an eccentric sorcerer. He was made as a commission from a wealthy aging couple who regretted never having children and wanted someone to take care of them. Tom accepted his role at first, but grew increasingly dissatisfied because the couple treated him like a child and a nurse instead of an individual. Once he got fed up with the whole deal, he stole his book and fled. He encountered people as he traveled, but due to the severe limitations of his speech, he was unable to connect with anyone.

  She yawns, flashing her thick canines. “No, I’m serious, the guy just does it all himself. I mean, I’m betting he’s got somebody in the back doing prep and dishes and shit, but you can see ‘im behind the counter, eyes rolled up in his head like he’s in some kinda trance.” She pulls out a palm-sized jar and a bottle of yellow powder from her jacket’s pocket. “Prob’ly is, I mean. He’s taking care of like 20 tables at least with nothing but his head. And he doesn’t have to pay hardly anybody but himself, so the food’s cheap as shit, you know? For how good it is, I mean. Man, I just hope nobody finds out, yeah?” She taps out some of the powder into the jar, tips some water in with it, and shakes it together with the lid on, her hazel-colored hands encasing the whole jar. “If everybody did what he’s doing, the hell are you going to school for? But I mean, good for him, having that kinda power and staying out of the military. Half his business must be recruiters, from what I hear.” She takes off the lid and screws on a miniature hookah straw, cupping the mouth of the jar so the neon yellow vapor doesn’t seep out. She takes a deep lungful and then puckers and shakes her head, her thick, dark hair flapping around her jaguar ears. “Woof! Wasn’t planning on staying up ‘til tomorrow night, but okay. Anyway. Point is, I could really go for some of those hash browns. You wanna hit?”
