Engaged to a Devil

Lucille woke up with a smile on her face, which is really strange because nobody likes waking up. No, today was different. Today was her eighteenth birthday. Her official entrance into the adult life, and into freedom.

Things couldn't have been better. Her dad was home, so her stepmother and stepsister couldn't boss her around. She was finally going to move into her own apartment, away from the hell hole she was living in.

But of course, nothing lasts forever.

Lucille decided to look extra pretty for this special event. She changed into a cute dress with a denim vest and wedges. She wore light golden eye shadow with eyeliner and mascara as make up, with a natural looking layer of foundation. She even spent some time on her hair, which she usually didn't care about. She simply used a silver chain for the sake of accessories.

She was going to spend the day with her best friend, Kylie, who looked badass as usual. The redhead wore black ripped shorts with a graphic tee, black leather jacket and black combat boots. Kylie was the best-est friend anyone could ever ask for.

"Ready to shop till you drop, and then hit the club, girlfriend?" She asked, obviously excited, after wishing Lucille.

"Hell yeah!" Cheered Lucille.

"Then let's gooo!" Kylie dragged her into her car, and took off into an exciting day.

*~ Time Skip ~*

"Kylie? Kylie?" Static, and then the phone cut. Lucille sighed as she put her hand down. This was the third time she had tried contacting her redhead friend after losing her in the club.

Kylie had gotten drunk, while Lucille stood by awkwardly, trying not to socialise. Socialising was something she wasn't very found of. In the end, Lucille couldn't find her anywhere and had to step out of the club. It was nighttime already. And when she tried calling Kylie's phone, the only time she picked was the third call. And that too, she didn't say anything. There was only static.

Sighing, the brunette leaned against the wall, wondering how what had started off as a perfect day had turned into a nightmare.

(Definitely, sorry for the late reply too)

August sat on his throne of charred branches on the court's dim red grand ballroom. The branches intertwined with each other like one would stitch a garment. In between the branches flowed a dark red glow that ended as a bright red ruby on the sharp, spiky tip of the throne. It was much sharper than Maleficent's needle and could kill anyone in a blink of an eye but the owner of the throne. Beside him was the same throne, but unlike his, it was empty and didn't glow. It has been empty for years, since Clarissa abandoned her own blood. But then, August promises it shall be occupied, and he'll do anything it takes to let the next heir occupy it.

August gazed in front boredly. He had his arm propped on the smooth armrest of the throne and his chin rested on his palm. His other arm was gently placed on the armrest and let his gold, heavy, signet ring sing in the otherwise quiet room. They have been waiting for this day to come and he have been sitting on the throne for a month, eager to see the portal and start his mission.

"Be patient, my boy." Lucifer stood on the side, his black robes kissing the floor. He held a black, worn looking cane but instead of a curve to hold on, it was a black skull. It has the size of a palm and dark eyes that would glow into bright red whenever Lucifer uses his power.

"I'll try, My Lord." August bowed his head a bit in respect. Despite that he is going to be the future king of the Underworld, Lucifer was still the one who made the world they are in and shall always be the king. And August have a deep respect at the older man who gave him the position and respect he have now. Though, August, will never be officially the King unless the heir is tied to him and claim her thrown and their kingdom.

The room became silent again but for the signet ring's faint tap. Suddenly, a faint aquamarine glowed in an oval shape in the center of the silent, empty, gold grand floor. August stopped tapping and stood up from his throne. The two watched in awe as it glowed and solidified in a portal. The two stood in front of it but instesd of showing their reflection, it showed the picture of the petty, ignorant humans of the Mortal world.

"The time has come, Augustus." Lucifer mused. Indeed, it has come. "You know what to do." He perfectly does. "I am sure you will succeed in your mission. Whenever should you need my help, just call and I'll come on your side." August silently nodded. However, he promised himself that he will do this on his own; he won't call anyone for help but himself.

August touched the portal. His hand pass through it. He didn't feel anything, it was just like he just raised his hand, touching air. Lucifer rested a hand on August's shoulder. "I'll watch you from here." He stood back.

August drew back his hand and after a glance on his Lord, August walked through the portal.

Black took over. He felt nothing, as if he was sleeping though he consciously knew that he was wide awake. After a couple of seconds, he felt air ruffle his almond hair. He blinked and what was once black turned into bright, different colors. Different, foreign sounds attacked his ears. He felt confused and daze. But after a couple of blinking, he finally get where he was-- the mundane world.

This was his first time going to the mundane world but he have studied and learned all the ways humans live and every place, every corner, everywhere, in their world. It was stressing and long but it will be now paid off-- his hard work.

He found himself in front of a building, lights glowed and blinked as it shaped letters. It was already night, stars flooded the sky, but it was still so noisy. It was said that wherever the portal leads him, the heir is also around.

He looked around, beside him was a great line of people, lining up to get inside the building. The people lining up wore diferent clothes that made his black robe so out of place. His eyes scanned the people lining up and rested on a boy with a grumpy, impatient face.

Augustwalked towards him. "Good evening." He said.

The boy looked at him, his eyes boredly looked at him from head to toe. "Halloween's not yet here. And why would you go to a club wearing a costume of Satan." He laughed hysterically. The people around him also laughed and pointed a finger on August.

August flashed a smile. "Exactly." He went inside the boy's mind. "Would you mind to talk privately?" August compelled.

The boy's laughing face became blank and glassy. He nodded. "Of course."

"Excellent!" Augustus grinned. The boy stepped out of the line and walked with Augustus on the back of the club. "So, would you lend to me your clothes? I definitely want to go into a club wearing a cotume like Satan." August went inside the boy's mind and ordered him to say yes.

"You're so very kind." August started to strip off the boy's clothes and wear it. The boy was left with only his underwear. "Ah, that's nice." August had strip his robe and was wearing the boy's leather jacket, jeans and sneakers. August looked at the boy again. "So," he said as he bent and did something to his jeans, "You won't remember this. Go back to the line and never ask for clothes. And do something funny." He reached the boy's mind. He said yes. August stood up straighter. "Excellent. You should go now." The boy shook his head, his glassy, blank face fading away, walked past him. And in seconds, he heard a roar of laugh from the line.

August walked back to the line. He went to the big, beefy man gesturing people to enter. The girl who was just suppose to enter glared at him, "Go back to the line!"

"Oh sorry dear, I'm in a hurry." He get inside in her mind and ordered her to shut up. He turned to the beefy man and also get inside on his mind. "Would you be so kind to let me enter?" He smiled. The man, without any word, let him in.

August entered and a loud, booming music entered his ears. The room was dim and colorful lights gazed the room. He scanned the sea of people and saw a girl that exactly looked like her mother. August smiled. He walked towards her. "Hello there." He greeted by the time he was standing beside her.

(I'm so sorry, i wanted to add more detail but I'm in a rush ugh.)
