It was a typical day at work for Nathan McCall...

He was the manager meant a lot of responsibility, but it was something he could handle. Nathan was the branch manager of an Intel office. His company was in charge of manufacturing the computer processors, as well as various other computer equipment. Nathan prided himself on his work ethic, and cared deeply about the success of his company.

Even though Nathan considered himself a successful person, he knew something was missing. A failed marriage really did a number on his psyche. His ex wife took everything from him, including his kids which was the most important thing that he lost due to the divorce. However, Nathan did the best he could to bounce back, and he was mostly okay. It was part of his personality to persevere, he had always been that way, and he never saw himself handling pressure negatively. While Nathan was handling his issues remarkably well, part of him was still hurt. He masked it wonderfully, and if you didn't know him all that well, you would never know that he was hurting because of his personal life.

At Intel, Nathan kept his personal life to a minimum. He did not share any information about himself, and loved to appear as if he were all business, and didn't care about anything else. It was not true, but Nathan did a great job hiding, and noted that he always would. He would never make the same mistake of letting someone in again. It was all about his business, and that was all it was going to be. While many people would disagree with Nathan's views, and say that there is much more to live for, Nathan didn't care, because he had no desire for that to change in his life. He enjoyed having Intel being his first and only priority.

As Nathan stared at the stack of paperwork on his desk, he sighed to himself. The day was dragging on slower than usual, and while he enjoyed what he was doing, he found himself extremely bored and lonely. For the third time that afternoon, he pulled his cell phone out to see if he had any text messages, and yet again there was nothing. Sure, Nathan had friends, who were more acquaintances than they were friends, but it wasn't like they texted him daily. It was beginning to get to him, and he wasn't sure what to do anymore...

Tara was bored of her job. It was long, tedious, and the pay was less than satisfying. She worked at the desk, typing away and talking to people on the phone, mainly customers. She planned on working her way up to the top, she knew quite a bit about computers, though she didn't look like the sort of person who did. It wasn't hard getting this job, it didn't really require a lot of responsibility. Just have a basic knowledge of how the computer equipment worked, and how to solve issues. She also had to keep her eyes on her emails and respond to them all by the end of the day. Which was impossible most times, as she got just too many. Either way, it was her job, she had to do it. She also had to look into mistakes in manufacturing, as sometimes the equipment was faulty, but generally that wasn't really her problem

She felt like she was doing odd jobs around the place. The job she had was stable, but she got a weak amount of cash for it. That's why she wanted a promotion, preferably to secretary. She needed to make her way up there some how, and sitting at the computer all day was not the way to do so. It seemed she was well on her way thought she'd recently got a pay rise, which is always a good sign. Now she just needed to take the next step.

She was working hard in her job, and she was working fast too. No other employee in her field got through emails and calls like she did, she was like a machine, which also worried her. If she was good at her job, why would they want to move her elsewhere? They'd lose their best performing worker. But she needed to remember that the people here didn't and shouldn't hunk that way, that soon enough that spot as a PA would be hers. All she had to do was keep on asking about it, but not to the point where it was annoying. She knew from experience that that was a bad way to go about it. She'd have to stay patient, she was good at that usually. But this was important to her.

The workday was soon to be over, only an hour left. She figured nobody would see if she applied a little makeup. She pulled out her purse, taking her lipstick. Ruby red. She got her mirror, tracing her lips very carefully. She was a fairly tall woman, standing around 5'8". She had dark brown hair, which sat just above her shoulders, almost looking like a bob. Her skin was pale, her eyes were green. She wouldn't be considered beautiful by many, but certainly pretty. When she was done, she got back to work, merely avoiding the gaze of her supervisor. One more hour.. Then she's free.
