  Danny is a socialite and an open-book: his friendly disposition, generosity and general interest in people means that he usually makes friends easily and he is always eager to find people to share things with, be it food, drugs or a deep conversation. Even when he lived with his parents he was a free spirit and so now enjoys living by his own rules. It is important to Danny to ensure that everyone around him is having a good time - he always tries to be considerate and sympathetic, and takes pleasure in spreading joy to other people. Having said that, he isn't submissive and won't bend to the will of somebody else if it means going against what he believes or contradicts who he is as a person. In general, Danny walks through life with confidence in his stride and wants nothing more than to live life to the full. However, as an avid drug user, his behaviour has been affected somewhat: his memory is not the most reliable and he has become rather absent-minded over the years, often losing track of an on-going task or forgetting to do it altogether. As an egalitarian, Danny prefers to speak to everyone the same way, so his communication skills are not always as professional as people expect, which has so far affected his ability to hold down a job.

  History:
  Danny always had a positive relationship with his parents growing up. They were beatniks: his father was a poet, his mother a singer-songwriter, and both of them were about as liberal as one could get. They never bound Danny by rules, instead encouraging him to be independent and explore the world on his own terms. The Bronx wasn't the safest place for a child to roam free, but his parents had a large network of close friends that often stayed at their house during the week, so in a way he had a few dozen parents all raising him at once and looking out for him. During the 1960s, his parents and their friends began taking hallucinogenic drugs and encouraged Danny to experiment with them. He took his first tab of acid at the age of 13 and it marked the beginning of a life-altering journey for him. He didn't do too well at school - his parents, being more the creative types, didn't care much about academia and so never pressured him to do well in his studies, believing that life, books, art and psychoactive drugs could teach him much more than an educational institution ever could.
  
  While Danny's social background provided him with love, support and the freedom to express himself, it didn't set him up very well for the outside world. Shortly after leaving school at the age of 16, his parents and most of their friends joined the Hare Krishna movement and gave up drugs altogether. Danny respected their decision but knew that he didn't want to follow in their footsteps. His parents respected his decision, too, and so came their time to part ways. In 1969, his parents moved to Bombay, India, leaving Danny behind to start a life of his own. At first he floundered without them, and he was fired from almost every job he managed to get for his general lack of professionalism - turning up high, late, or not fulfilling tasks set. With his parents having abstained from drugs and moved away, Danny had ended up in closer contact with his dealers and eventually came to be good enough friends with them that they offered him an opportunity to work alongside them. Higher up in the chain of operations was Alistair Sawyer, leader of the East Harlem gang. However, since Danny only worked on the streets as a dealer, he never got to meet his superiors. The job kept him busy and kept him outdoors; he met a lot of interesting, often dangerous characters but he was efficient and made a lot of money for the gang.
  
  One day after meeting one of his regular customers, Gwen Bryant, in a quiet side street in Manhattan, he was approached by a man, someone he had never seen before. At first Danny thought he was a cop, but with nowhere to run, he could only do his best to act innocent. It didn't work, of course, because the man had been watching the exchange he had made with Gwen, and proceeded to beat him up. He made a deal to Danny: to stay away from Gwen and never sell drugs to her again, and in exchange he would hire him to work as a dealer inside his nightclub, The Lomax. If he ever came back short, then it would be obvious that he had stolen drugs or money - the man made it clear that breaking his trust would have severe consequences. He offered three times the payment that Danny was currently receiving, so he accepted the deal. Danny's change in affiliation of course angered the East Harlem gang but they never went after him, knowing that it was the Porters who were really to blame. It has now been six months since he started working for the Porters and he has earned enough money to rent out a small apartment in Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan.

  History:
  When Alistair was growing up in Michigan, his father worked as the director of a psychiatric hospital. Driven by a thirst for power and respect, he would often use physical force and corporal punishment to keep his patients in line. This behaviour was not only implemented in the workplace but also at home, where he used violence as a way to assert dominance in the household. Alistair's mother was only 16 when she gave birth to him, his father being 59 at the time; she didn't love him, and so when she was forced to marry him it drove her to become severely depressed. She lived in his shadow, submissive to his daily beatings. Never having known any different, Alistair became used to the abuse that befell both him and his mother. From a young age, he observed the nature of both of his parents and came to the conclusion that dominance was the key to survival - that in this world, one was either the beater or the beaten. He began to understand why his father did what he did, and thus came to view violence as an effective way to establish control. On the morning of his ninth birthday, Alistair came downstairs to discover that his mother had hanged herself in the bathroom. While most children would be utterly traumatised, to Alistair her death only seemed to confirm the conclusion he had reached. Of course, showing any emotion that his father considered to be weak was punishable in his household; he had been essentially brainwashed into embracing physical abuse, and so had been taught to see its value in hardening him.
  
  In his teenage years, Alistair was naturally self-assured and very focused in his studies. His teachers admired him for his excellent grades and both girls and boys flocked to him, infatuated by his charisma and extroversion. His academic achievements and popularity blinded many to the fact that he was an awful bully, and although he often brought physical and mental pain to other students, it never prevented him from continuing to achieve. Getting away with such behaviour further cemented his idea that violence was a positive tool for getting his way.
  
  His father finally died of a heart attack in 1947, when Alistair was 17. At an age when his friends were moving on to higher education or joining careers, Alistair saw his father's death as an opportunity to give himself a fresh start. After graduating from high school, he moved to New York to begin a degree in business and economics. Within a few months he had a girlfriend, and it was through her that he met his rival: a man so similar in character to him that it drove him up the wall. He found every reason to compete with him, obsessed with assuming superiority over him until one day the two got into a physical fight so frenzied that Alistair ended up breaking both of the man's legs. For a brief time he felt proud, thinking he had come out on top - until the next day, when three men arrived at his door. They knocked him out and brought him to an abandoned location that Alistair did not recognise. Without making any verbal threats or giving him any information about who they were or where they had taken him, the men kept him blindfolded and tied up for 3 days. As confused as he was, he knew he could take a beating and so refused to give them the satisfaction of seeing him give in to whatever it was they had in store for him. Instead of beating him, however, they used techniques that he was not prepared for, and when he was eventually released back to university, his body was covered in cuts, slashes and burns.
  
  Out of shame for having been subjected to such violence, Alistair decided not to tell anybody what had happened to him; he broke up with his girlfriend immediately and spent the following week isolating himself. Not long after, he was approached again by another group of men. They had heard that he was one who had injured the young man and while he at first denied the accusation, it soon became apparent that they had no interest in punishing him for it. In fact, they offered him the opportunity for revenge against his kidnappers and invited him to meet the boss of their "organisation". Impressed by the confident way in which he carried himself, his ability to win a fight and withstand torture, he was soon initiated into the gang. It wasn't the most professional, but Alistair knew no better - he only wanted to bring justice to his newly found enemies. Soon enough, Alistair found himself involved in a deadly feud and ended up partaking in an organised mass murder. Since the authorities never had his name on record, he managed to get away with it after the gang's most high profile members were caught and, out of loyalty, they did not give up any more names. The change in lifestyle did demand his full attention, however, and so he quit university before his first year came to an end.
  
  A natural-born leader, Alistair soon gained a high reputation within the gang for his communication skills, charisma, fighting spirit and endurance. The other members, most of whom were still in their twenties, looked up to him and respected his input. This propelled him to an influential role by the time he reached thirty and, with his business-oriented head, Alistair was determined to develop the gang into something more far-reaching. He established a functional hierarchy of positions and trained his fellow members to improve their negotiation skills. Over the years he has demonstrated his interest in torture and raised the gang's reputation to be taken more seriously. Their current operations revolve mainly around the underground drugs business, and are working with the Moretti crime family to gain dominance in New York City.

  From growing up shadowing his father on jobs, Ethan became desensitised to violence and found himself unable to feel much empathy for the suffering of others. He could kill and scar others without feeling any guilt. The only people he could show love and understanding for were his mother and siblings. That was until he met and fell in love with Rose. She was able to bring out his romantic, caring and affectionate side. He simply became a warmer person and stopped taking pleasure in hurting those who crossed him.
  
  After his wife was killed, Ethan returned to his cold ways. He once again found enjoyment in harming others and there was little he wasn't willing to do for those he worked for. Be it torture or a simple bullet to the skull, Ethan would get the job done. Whilst none of it will ever bring his wife back, he revels in punishing those who cross him.

  History:
  Ethan was the first of four children born to Norman Turner and Alessia Russo. This gave him the most insight into his father than his siblings had. When he was ten, Norman would take Ethan out with him and use the boy's innocence to help him con people out of their possessions. When Ethan became a teenager, he appeared less innocent and more aggressive. None of this was discouraged by Norman, so Ethan was allowed to adopt a fighting spirit and it was one that got him into plenty of trouble growing up in The Bronx.
  
  Norman got the teenager into boxing and Ethan spent a lot of time training. Whilst Ethan loved the sport, his father was only thinking of himself and how he eldest son's strength could benefit him. Ethan's teenage years were difficult and shadowing his father's criminal activities only desensitised him further to cruelty, violence and crime. Whilst he now holds a great deal of resentment towards his father, he can't deny the man taught him much of what he needed to know about survival, fighting and fraud. 24 years ago, Norman walked out on the family with no explanation, other than the revelation he'd found a younger woman. It didn't take long for Ethan to hate his father.
  
  When he was 18, he met and fell in love with Rose. The woman brought out his softer side and made him turn his back on his violent ways to focus on less brutal work, such as fraud and drug dealing. Ethan felt like the luckiest man in the world. He continued breaking the law and working with other gangs, but he found himself taking less risks to ensure he always returned home to the woman he loved.
  
  Ethan hadn't been completely careful and had crossed the Sullivan Family one too many times when a hit was put out on him by Jack Sullivan himself. In June 1957, he and Rose had been leaving a restaurant when they were both gunned down by Arlene Sullivan - the daughter of Jack and sister of Liam. Ethan survived, having moved quickly enough to avoid any fatal wounds, but Rose died instantly.
  
  Having lost the only person who kept him human, Ethan soon returned to his old ways. He reconnected with old allies but despite their history he knew they were no match for the Sullivans and therefore they stood little chance of making a dent on the Irish mob family. It wasn't long after Rose's death that Jack Sullivan passed away, in November of 1957. The brief disruption the death of the Sullivan Boss gave Ethan the perfect opportunity to murder Seamus Morgan, one of the senior members of the Sullivan Mob. Aware of Alistair Sawyer's gang and their shared rivals, Ethan showed up on Sawyer's doorstep with physical proof he'd slaughtered Morgan and with it, he brought an offer of his loyal services.

  Donahue has two distinct sides to him, much like a coin. While on the job and during more dire situations, Ryan is a hard man. Reserved and watchful, he takes his duties and responsibilities very seriously, although this facade may crack in the presence of children. That being said, Ryan view of what is considered dire is placed on higher bar than most and comes across as not taking a situation as seriously as others.
  
  In a more relaxed environment, Ryan is a free, candid, and witty individual with a touch of cynicism pending on his mood. Though rarely seen by most, Ryan has a gentler side that is brought out by small children, something about their innocence seems to call it forward.
  
  All in all, Donahue is a honest man that values loyalty, camaraderie, and good whiskey. He views the world as a morally grey place and is more than willing to do what it takes to protect and support those he care about.
  The last decade had been bittersweet for Ryan, and it catalyzed the two sides of his personalities into a single persona. Although he became known for keeping his word, overly precautious nature, and dark humor. While he has a soft spot for those he cares about, Ryan is ultimately driven by results, and can be seen as overbearing at times. So most see him as an aging, stoic, hardass of a man.

  Spoiler: Previous History

  Born the son of a lieutenant for the Sullivans, Ryan was raised in Chicago and was familiar with some of the major players but his mother always did her best to keep him from getting involved with his father's occupation. This meant that Ryan lived away from most of the violence and criminal elements of The Irish Mob. At least that's what the plan was.
  
  This however wasn't the case, especially as Ryan got older and went looking for trouble himself. While most of his early endeavors included a wide range of petty crimes, it was when after he learned to hotwire a car and stole his first speedster that he fell in love with cars and the engines that pulled them. This led to a sudden decline in his criminal escapades as he would now spend most of his time at garages, exploring junkyards, and watching the races. He even got a job at a local garage when he was old enough. Although combustion engines would always be his first love, they had sparked a curiosity in the young Donahue boy. It wasn't long before he was taking things apart and his projects were spilling out of his room into other parts of the house, much to his mother's ire.
  
  His father had taken notice of his son's new love for cars and all things mechanical and started to introduce him to firearms. While Ryan took to them naturally, he was more interested in how they worked than their actual application. This led to his father talking him into taking the job of maintaining the Sullivan's car pool and weapons, working alongside James Porter and Carrick Sullivan. This would only last a couple of years as the tensions between the gangs in the Chicago area were on the rise and Ryan's mother was constantly nagging him to quit and do something with his life. It wasn't long before the gang wars that Ryan's father were a part of followed him home.
  
  Ryan's father was among the first casualties in the conflict between the Sullivans and the Romanos, dying when their house was put to the flame. Fortunately, Ryan and his mother were able to escape. This was the event lit the flame of vengeance in Ryan and that would smoulder in him for years to come. While the Sullivans took care of his mother due to his father's standing, he felt as though if he was to avenge his father, he would need to add a new skill set to his repertoire. This led to his decision of joining the U.S. Marine Corps, which his mother supported, being from a military family herself. So in the early summer of 1949, Ryan left Chicago in search of the skills he needed, only to find out later that James Porter would put a quick end to the Romano Family.
  
  Unknown to to Ryan when he would joining the Marines shortly before the start of the Korean War. This would mean that he would be mobilized to the other side of the world and would spend the majority of his time on the frontlines. During what little R&R he spent among the mechanics of the Armored Divisions always eager to learn more. The time spent in the Marine Corps was an experience that would forge the Donahue boy into the man that would return 6 years later.
  
  His return to Chicago, was bloody, to put it politely as his reintegration into the Irish Mob was followed shortly by a systematic destruction of any and all remaining Romano Family members, assets, and allies that had remained in the area. Donahue would've followed the family back to Italy if he'd been allowed and it was only the discipline and adherence to chain of command that had been instilled in him over the last 6 years that kept him going against the command. Regardless, the skills that Ryan had acquired were used regularly as he was established as a brutally effective enforcer of the Irish Mob.
  
  The next few years would temper his attitude and the methods he utilized, while still brutal, his ways became much more subtle and his head cooled as he learned to ply his skills in ways to avoid legal authorities. As time waned on, Ryan was able spend more time with his beloved toys since threats that would require his skills were becoming rather sparse. This changed when his boss called him to the office in late October of 1959.
  
  "Mr. Porter's family has been attacked and there's going to be a war. A war needs soldiers and you're just sitting underneath those cars, so you're being transferred." Donahue cracked an amused smirk, "Just say when, sir."
  History:
  After his adventures in Ireland, Ryan returned to his homeland, the U.S. Although he did return to Chicago, it wasn't his final destination, as he went there mainly to collect his beloved '57 Corvette before driving to Los Angeles. It was from there that the letter he received while in Dublin had originated from. It was where Su-yeong, the woman he'd had a short relationship with in Korea, and the boy that was apparently born from it, Owen, lived. While trepidation ate at him during his journey the City of Angels, upon arriving Ryan would find a new ring of hell.
  
  Owen, the boy he hoped to meet, was gone. Taken by a man who Ryan only knew in his memories. Carrick. It took very little convincing on Su-yeong's part for Ryan to search for his now missing son, and the man that abducted him. Since Carrick had apparently cut ties with the rest of his family, and the police showed little interest in a missing Korean boy, Ryan turned to the local criminal underground. Of course, not having the clout to get the answers, his desperation caused him to run afoul of the local Mafia. It was only due to luck that Ryan was able to keep his life, but was forced to utilize his skill for the Mafia as a result.
  
  Even though the head of the Mafia family would be arrested a few years later, and its hold on Ryan diminished, Su-yeong would refuse to leave Los Angeles in hopes that Owen would return on his own someday. It wouldn't be until the latter half of 1965 that Ryan would be able to convince her to come with him to Chicago due to the fact that her neighborhood was mostly destroyed during the Watts Riots. Although he was on his home turf, Ryan still had to deal with the occasional hitman. This would eventually become a rare occurrence as that Family's power eroded over time.
  
  During his misadventures, Ryan, along with Su-yeong, never stopped looking for Owen, or Carrick. However, Carrick had covered his tracks well, and it wasn't until years later that word had reached them of Carrick being in NYC a few years after taking Owen. Even though the news was old, it was all they had to go on, and Ryan prepared to make his way to NYC with the intent to tear the city apart in search of his missing son.

  Su-yeong Yu:
  The two are essentially married. For Ryan, she's pillar that's held him up, and kept him from returning to his old ways once they left LA.
  
  James & Lucy Porter:
  Ryan saw James as a mentor and friend during the time he worked under him in the Sullivan's carpool back in Chicago. While time would wear on their friendship, Ryan still greatly respected the man for his ability and for avenging his father when he could not. While Ryan had known Lucy for just long as the other Sullivan siblings, their gap in age and few commonalities meant that they didn't spend much time together.
  
  Conor & Aliana Sullivan:
  While being friends with Conor for many years, it hit a rough spot when Ryan found out he'd had relations and a daughter with Alex Romano, whose family had been responsible for the death of his own father. He would eventually come to terms with Conor's past and their friendship renewed. Ryan had met Aliana several times while in Dublin, but they shared little in common.
  
  Sinead & Peter Callahan:
  Ryan initially held some resentment towards Peter for being Sinead's beloved, but that faded over time. As for Sinead, since they grew up in close proximity of each other, they had a friendship from early on. He would eventually develop feelings for Sinead, but would remain unrequited for years since Ryan would leave to join the US Marines. Although Ryan would eventually spill his feelings after coming to Ireland, he knew that it was too late. The two would part amicably, keeping in touch via letters, but the time period between each one eventually grew.
  
  Syd Porter:
  Having got to know Syd somewhat during the few jobs they did, albeit some didn't go according to plan, they got along well enough. They would also meet occasionally in the Porter Estate garage back in Dublin and talk shop from time to time.
  
  The Callahan Siblings:
  While he met them as children, he didn't spend as much time around them as he would've liked to.

  Los Angeles, February 1961

  Water splashed across Ryan's beaten face. It was room temperature, but there was more than enough to make him return to consciousness. His body wasted a bit of what little energy he'd recovered from passing out with a reflexive gasp that was more of a raspy inhale. The fact that he still hanging by his arms told him that he was in the same place that he'd been for the last couple of days. At least, that's what Ryan guessed to how long he'd been there. The only thing he knew was that he'd been punched 149 times, hit with a golf club 15 times, and there was a crowbar involved, but he was coming and going like a revolving door at that point, so he was unsure of the actual count. Most of it happened during the initial session, and had tapered off as time went on, but counting the hits served as a focal point for him to endure the punishment. Ryan was ready to start keeping score again, as there was now little else for him to do as he waited for the hits to continue.
  
  "So that's the lunatic that attacked you and your boys?" Ryan almost didn't catch it as he normally let the men's voices fade out as they dealt their damage.
  
  "Yea, Boss. That's him, a tough fucker. Smart-ass too, but we fixed that."
  
  "This all he had on him? Not very flush for a night out."
  
  Ryan could hear the familiar snap of his holster, before the man he knew as Alfie continued, "He had this, but he gave it up when Louis patted him down."
  
  There was a pause in the conversation, and Ryan could hear a pair of shoes scuffing concrete as their owner approached him. 'One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. Seven...' he counted, the last one slapping the water and other bodily fluids that had pooled beneath him. It was only then that Ryan struggled to open the one eye that hadn't swollen shut, and even then, his vision was blurred. As to be expected, the lighting wasn't great in whatever hole they were in, but it was enough to see the light colored suit and the chunky outline that wore it standing in front of him, staring at the contents of his wallet as if in thought.
  
  "So yous tellin' me, dis guy shows up at the club, with no green on him, gives up his piece, then proceeds to beat the tar outta you, and most of da boys because he's a loony?" the Boss asked, raising his head to meet Ryan's one-eyed gaze, "If I was bettin', I'd say dat's a load of horseshit."
  
  "You calling me a liar?" Alfie said, his displeasure at being called out obvious in his tone.
  
  "Depends. Is Mr. Donahue from Chicago gonna to tell me there was a reason why he tore you and your boys a couple of new ones, or are you?"
  
  It took a few seconds for the exhausted Ryan realize that he was being given a chance to say something. However, it took a huge effort to push even the two words past his parched throat and swollen lips.
  
  "Bad. Deal."
  
  "A bad deal?" The man in charge repeated, as Ryan's pronunciation was harsh and barely audible.
  
  Ryan nodded slowly to confirm the words, although it pained him to do so. "Oh really? Color me surprised!" the man said as he walked away from Ryan, his tone blatantly facetious, as his attention now focused entirely on Alfie. "I'm sure that you'll tell me next that Alfie here scammed you out of about five grand, and you tried to get him to cough up the money, or whatever it is you payed him for. Right?"
  
  Even in his haze, Ryan could tell that man was no longer talking to him, and Alfie, although he was several inches taller than his superior, was starting to look very small next to him. As he could almost hear Alfie thinking of something to say, Ryan closed his eye as so there was one less thing aching as he tried to focus what was said next. Ryan was very aware that he'd never leave this spot alive, so he'd at least try to enjoy the show. As Alfie continued to stay quiet, the air became thick with tension, and after a few moments of it, the man let loose a heavy sigh.
  
  "Look, I trust ya, Alfie. Really, I do. It's thanks to ya finding that mole that we got the one up on the Marino Family. So I'll give you another chance. But, no side business from now on, capiche?" he said, as the sound of Alfie being patted firmly on the back reached Ryan's ears.
  
  Alfie chuckled a bit in relief once he realized he was off the hook, "Thank you, Mr. Di Giorgio. I swear it won't happen again."
  
  "See that it doesn't, and don't forget to apologize either." Mr. Di Giorgio reminded his subordinate matter-of-factly.
  
  "Uhmm..." Alfie started, caught off guard by the request, "I'm sorry about all this, Boss."
  
  "Not me, idiot. Him."
  
  "..."
  
  "..."
  
  The uncomfortable silence was noticeable, albeit brief as Alfie eventually questioned it, "Him? Why?"
  
  Although Ryan had made peace with dying in a dirty hole back on Korea, he was preparing himself for his seemingly imminent execution once Alfie had been forgiven. Forcing his eye open again, Ryan looked around the room to the best of his ability to make sure that he was indeed the only other person beside Alfie and his boss. This actually led to more questions that only served to make Ryan's head ache more than it already did.
  
  "Did ya not learn to apologize to people when ya fucked something up as a kid? Christ! Go look him in the eyes, and do a proper apology!" ordered the overweight mobster in an even tone, which was accompanied by some blurry hand motions.
  
  Alfie didn't say anything for awhile, as though he was waiting for Mr. Giorgio to say he was joking, but eventually started walking towards Ryan, at a slower pace than his boss did, but with one less stride. Even with one eye and blurred vision, he could tell Alfie was confused as to why he was supposed to apologize to Ryan. Especially since the ugly purplish blot around his eye had yet to dissipate. Ryan would've liked to of made it a pair, but timely bouncers pulled him off before it could happen.
  
  Taking one last look at his boss, Alfie finally stepped up to the plate. "I'm sorry." As it took longer than it should've for the man to spit out the words, Ryan closed his eye and readied himself to be killed shortly after the apology.
  
  The sharp cracks of gunshots ripped through the room. Magnified in the contained space, Ryan couldn't help but cry out from pain that they assailed his broken senses. Although his eye was open, the blinding pain consumed his senses as everything went white. Just as the echoes were fading into ringing, more shot rang out. Proving too much for his current condition, Ryan fainted, never knowing what happened in that room after the rounds were fired.

  The whiteness would eventually fade to black, and dreams of redheaded sirens would haunt him until he awoke to the rhythmic beep of his own heartbeat. Although the pain was mostly dulled, his body remained stubborn to his wishes. His eyes would eventually give in and show him the darkened hospital room he lay in. His vision was unfocused, but he reasoned it was likely a sedative or painkiller as the cause. Still, he was able to make out the shape of the woman that was sleeping curled up in the chair in the room. Ryan wasn't able to see her face, as it was tucked away, but Su-yeong was the only one he knew in the City of Angels. Deciding that the best and easiest thing to do was to sleep, he shifted into the least painful position and let himself drift away.
  
  
  
  Los Angeles, May 15th, 1961

  Ryan didn't remember seeing much during the 'internment'. Four days, and he could barely remembered what was in the room with him during that time, let alone people's faces. Not that Alfie was even worth remembering. But he remembered their voices, the laughter, the curses, and especially the fists that followed after. Four days, and Ryan came out of it with most of his ribs either cracked or shattered, a dislocated knee, a slew of internal bruising, and his fingernails were still growing back. When he'd awoken in the hospital, he'd been there for over a week. It would be another three weeks until he was cleared to go home, or rather to Seo-yeong's home. That was also the day that Mr. Di Giorgio sent someone to tell him that Ryan was expected to pay a visit once he'd recovered.
  
  That was almost two months ago, and Ryan was now frozen before an ornate mahogany door, the only thing stood between Mr. Di Giorgio and himself.
  
  "Forget how to use a door?" goaded the chauffeur standing behind him. Ryan thought he could hear the man laughing quietly, and almost fired back a retort, but only saw a wall of stoicism when he glanced backwards. It was very same stoicism that greeted him unannounced at the front door that morning. Telling himself that he was just tired, Ryan shook his head briefly to clear the remaining memories, and steeled him for whatever came next.
  
  The well oiled door opened soundlessly until Ryan let go of the handle and it sprang back into its default position. The study was sizable, and lined with bookshelves that matched the door. On what little wall space remained, were either portraits of people Ryan didn't recognize, or religious paintings. Then there was the centerpiece of the room, the massive desk that took up a fair portion of the room and the plump man that sat behind it, Di Giorgio. It had been eighty-six days by Ryan's count since he last saw the man, and he personally would've preferred to have keep counting.
  
  Remaining seated, the man looked Ryan over before setting down the folder of papers that he was reading, "Ah, wasn't entirely sure you'd make a full recovery, but you're looking mostly patched up," he said in a welcoming tone, nodding towards the brace that stabilized Ryan's knee. There was a sizable pause as the man's eyes turned hawkish and examined Ryan a few times over, and then waved his hand to dismiss the chauffeur, "That's all for now," and waited for the man to leave before giving Ryan his full attention, "Have a seat, Mr. Donahue."
  
  As there was only the solitary chair in front of the desk, and in no position to say otherwise, Ryan complied. The stiffness of the seat cushion immediately gave way how chair was usually just decorative, but it took the building pressure off his knee. "Thank you, sir," he said, mostly as a courtesy than actual gratitude.
  
  "Ya know, when Louis told me about Alfie getting tossed around in his own club, I thought it was some Marino leftovers looking for revenge. Imagine my surprise when he said it was one man. Of course, he clammed up when I asked why a single guy would do something so stupid, but he eventually spilled about Alfie's little side gig of being a snake..."
  
  "What do you want?" Ryan said briskly, interrupting the man's reminiscing.
  
  If Di Giorgio had been annoyed by being cut off, it didn't show. The man didn't let the air between them have a chance to stagnant however, as he leaned over, opened a drawer, and pulled out a black case. As Di Giorgio set the box a top the desk, Ryan could see it was about as long as his forearm and half that wide.
  
  "There's a great many things I want, Mr. Donahue. Like knowin' why a goon from Chicago tore up one of my clubs in my city."
  
  Ryan struggled to restrain a grimace, as he was almost absolutely certain that the man had no interest in the answer, as he likely already knew. The mafioso boss was fishing for something, but he couldn't put his finger on what for. However, despite the mafioso's comfortable posture, his fixated gaze unnerved Ryan somewhat.
  
  "I had planned on retiring. Something came up though, and I needed intel. I was looking for a broker who was familiar with our kind of lifestyle, and was directed to Alfie." his body tensed reflexively when mobster's name came out, but faded against the seriousness that was hanging in the room before it caused him to dwell.
  
  "What kinda intel?"
  
  "Does it matter?"
  
  "Probably not, but humor me," the mafioso boss said as he leaned forward with a friendly smile that contrasted the man's intense eyes.
  
  "I'm looking for Carrick Sullivan."
  
  "Hmm," the expression was all the man volunteered before relaxing back into his throne, his scrutinizing gaze finally laxing.
  
  "Know him?" Ryan dared to press, knowing that he was in no position to actually make demands.
  
  "In passing. Clever man, but our interests didn't align. What's your business with him?" he inquired in turn, but sounding increasingly disinterested. It was obvious to Ryan that the man across from him was dealing from under the table, and all he could do was hold what few cards he had close to his chest, even if it turned out to be a fruitless effort.
  
  "He took something that wasn't his to take. But I doubt you actually care about that, so again, what do you want?"
  
  The mafioso chuffed amusingly, "No nonsense from you, eh? Alright, here." the plumbish man rotated the case to reveal its simple latch before pushing it partway across the desk towards Ryan. Even then, it remained out of Ryan's reach unless he stood up. Which he did, although it irritated his still weakened knee. Opening the box, Ryan immediately identified one of the items inside as what remained missing after his capture, his M1911. Taking it from its box, he immediately felt more at ease, even though it was unloaded. Putting his old sidearm back, Ryan examined the other item, a California Driver's License.
  
  "Perry Barone?" reading aloud the name that accompanied the picture of him before Ryan fully grasped what the ramifications were of such a thing existing. He started to feel ill as he saw Di Giorgio's smugness.
  
  "Mostly a formality, as the old traditions don't serve the family as well here in the West, but they must be followed to some extent. Your initiation will happen in the coming weeks, but I have a feeling you'll be fine..."
  
  The mafioso's pearly smile made Ryan want to cave it in, and only the fact that he and everything he now held dear would be destroyed kept him from doing so. Instead, all he could do was clench his own teeth until they threatened to shatter.
  
  "...so, welcome to the family, Mr. Barone."
  
  
  
  Somewhere in the Heartlands, August 14th, 1965​
  
  The night's blackness threaten to flood the bus, staved off by the struggling reading lamp a few rows ahead. The diesel engine's low and continuous rumble lullabies its passengers as it pushed them towards their destination. Su-yeong's charcoal hair draped over his lap as she slept, worn out from the week's events. Ryan's empty gaze watched the dark landscape pass behind the faint reflection of Perry Barone. It was the reflection of a dead man. A man who died during the civil warfare that still engulfed Los Angeles, the city that was his and Su-yeong's home, and was almost Ryan's.
  
  For four years and some change, Ryan was gone. In his place, Honest Perry, the Italian soldier inhabited his body. He was a mask initially. Hard, rigid, and ill fitting, but would eventually splinter into a persona that harbored Ryan's depraved qualities. His nickname highlighting his only virtue. Despite the fact that Ryan no longer needed him, he could feel Perry still haunting him, as if he merely kicking his feet up til he was needed again.
  
  His eyes shifted to the woman that was curled up to fit on their seats. As his calloused fingers combed through her raven silk, Ryan wondered how he, a man who'd committed such great evils, could ever be worthy of something so soft. He'd done nothing, and yet she stayed. The child they shared was still missing, the already faint trail gone after his years of being an involuntary brute for Di Giorgio. The boy would be fourteen in few month, and it will mark the fifth year since he was separated from his mother.
  
  It was difficult for Ryan to feel genuine affection for the boy he never met, but he was the only piece missing from the thing he desired. A family. He didn't know how it would take, but he'd find Owen. Whatever the cost.

  In the Courtroom or in a Police Station Mitch is a charismatic whirlwind, a linguistic master, a suave negotiator. Throwing the full weight of the law around to get his job done, not scared who he may piss of or who’s toes he may tried on. If his client is on the hook he’ll fight tooth and nail to personally climb up and remove them from said hook.
  This is all something of a show however, a necessary act when having to swing a Jury, or catch out a law enforcement officer who’s attempting to stick a toe over the legal line or ignore a client’s rights. Our of work he is mild mannered, softly spoken and polite above all else. To be honest he’s a bit of a coward, much better to run away to fight another day than to... well to fight. He is however still quite charming in an unassuming kind of way, though overshadowed by bigger brasher personalities.
  Having been born into the New York upper middle class he also has a taste for the finer things in line, whether that be alcohol, music, cars, houses or women, though his devotion to his work and reserved demeanour has left him without a wife or significant other. He generally scores activities or areas that he considers below him, fast food or bowling for example, two particularly hated activities of his, and he only passed through Brooklyn once, in a cab, and he decided that was quite enough for him.

  History: Mitch was born into upper middle-class New York Society. The Van Gerwen’s could trace their ancestry back to the original Dutch colonisers of Manhattan, something his father would often bring up at parties, over a few drinks, or in the bank in order to speak to the manager as fast as possible. Mitch was born the only child of Michael and Rebecca Van Gerwen, and as such was doted upon by them. His father was a high-flying Property Lawyer and expected his son to follow in his footsteps in going through Law School. Even without his Father’s academic contacts, it would have been expected that Mitch would have done well. Leaving high school with a 4.0 GPA and a 170+ LSAT. Of course, the donation by his father (an ex alumni) also helped, but Mitch was good enough that there weren’t too many accusations of him having been accepted on his father’s coat tails. By the time he graduated 3 years later, majoring in Criminal Law and Financial Law, Mitch had the benefit of an education from the leading law school in the country. The world was his oyster, if he wanted a job he could have waltzed into near enough any law firm in the country. And that is just what he did, returning to the hustle and bustle of New York City, his home, passing the bar exam within a couple of months. He started work at Willis Knapley LLP, a small specialised law firm dealing primarily with financial and business law. Mitch was good, everyone admitted that, a fine young lawyer with untapped potential. But it wasn’t long before it all started to go wrong. Something that he had picked up at Yale was a gambling bug. Now as a poor student, and one with rich parents to back him up if it all went wrong, the bets were small. Poker games in the dorms, a $100 here, another $100 there. Now he was making serious money however, he started building up serious losses. By the age of 24, a mere 3 years after starting work, he was over $200K in the hole. Now some of this was to his parents, a number of ‘emergency loans’ and some to friends, however they had all reached breaking point, his friends having given up on him, and his parents essentially cutting him off after catching him attempting to steal one of their cars as a way to write off one debt. The problem was that $30K was owed to far less savoury figures, as the banks had stopped giving him loans he had been forced to go after less legal and regulated sources of money. And now he was in debt to a group that you did not want to get into debt to. Things got even worse as the knowledge of his debt problems worked their way up to the senior partners of the firm that employed him. Given the disrepute he could bring to the firm, as well as the situation of a bankrupt lawyer working on bankruptcy cases, they were left no choice but to let him go. This was the straw that broke the camel’s back with his relationship with his family. His mother and father cutting the final ties at the ignobility of their sons sordid behaviour, a stain on the good name of Van Gerwen. It wasn’t long before the loan sharks caught up with him. However before any kneecaps were shattered, or teeth were pulled, he was able to swing a deal. They had a couple of their boys coming up to trial on embezzlement charges, he’d get them off the hook. At the time he was bluffing, he had no idea if he’d be able to get them off, but it was either that or lose his knees, and he was willing to take the chance. It paid off. All 3 boys were acquitted, and $30K of debt was wiped, on the understanding that he would be on retainer for a year free of charge for any other problems. Of course whilst he was out of debt, the damage was done, no reputable law firm in the city would take him now he had a reputation of associating with criminals. However that reputation did come with other work, and that’s how he found himself caught up with Porters. Within a few month he had own registered law firm, consisting of himself and his secretary, Van Gerwen LLC, served as a legal front for his work with the criminal class, and gave him a legitimate front to hide behind. His first encounter with the Porters was a recommendation from another family about a year ago, acting on behalf of a couple of their men who had been charged with drug smuggling. As he had done before with the loan sharks, he proved himself in the eyes of the Porters by getting them off scot free due to a number of technicalities, loopholes and most importantly a bit of intimidation from the Porters. Since that opening help, he has essentially worked solely for the Porter Family, in terms of both criminal law, and financially, helping to funnel assets and money, laundering and managing the legality of their taxes and accounts. Whilst he keeps the firm running, he is a one client Lawyer now, effectively on retainer, and a trusted member of the Family, even if he doesn’t get his hands dirty himself. Mitch lives in an apartment on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. A modest 2 bedroom apartment that he shares with his 9 year old Border Collie (The rather originally named Rex). He drives a red Chevrolet Chevel, his pride and joy.

  Warren was born and raised in Italy. In 1949, Warren visited Chicago with his mother and siblings. It was the first time he had met his half-brother, James. Attending the Porters' wedding during that visit was something that would never leave Warren's mind. He'd witnessed James and the Sullivans being attacked during the ceremony. He later discovered the Romanos, relatives of his own, had been behind the shooting that injured his brother and sister-in-law. He was only seven when he attended that wedding, but what he saw had never left his mind over the years that followed.
  
  Living in Italy was relatively peaceful for Warren, except when it came to his relationship with his father. His parents were good people and they wanted the best from their children, but Warren had grown up aspiring to one day join and work for his brother, James. It was difficult for him to admit it and even harder to live up to his father's expectations. This created a barrier between their relationship, with Warren and Ethan arguing very often.
  
  Warren passed up on continuing his studies after school, instead taking up work as a builder's apprentice. Once he'd earned enough money, he made his way to New York to visit James. That was in 1968 and he hasn't returned to Italy since. Instead, he rents an apartment near to James' place and is employed as a security guard for the Porters.

  Personality:
  Ammon suffers from DID, which is also know as multiple personality disorder. It was unclear how he developed such an issue, as his childhood was rough and he went from one family to the next, but his personality for the moment is spilt into 3 different ones.
  
  • The Magician -This is Ammon's original personality, the trickster, the conman, the entertainer. Ammon has a passion for all things trickery and takes pride in what he can hide. This personality is more on the calm and collected side, not appearing as a violent man, he is often seen with little children in the streets, showing them card tricks and the like. With people, he's an entertainer, and boy does he put on a show. He appreciates his art and the works of others like him, (though that's obviously hard to find). With his work, he complies well with his authorities and is very loyal. With his sister, he couldn't love her anymore than he does, protective and considerate over her feelings. This personality is the most sane out of the three and is seen most of the time.
  • The Butcher- This is the most violent of the three personalities. Often speaking in a thick, uncharacteristic Brooklyn accent, the butcher is exactly as the name describes but meat is definitely not what he is slicing up. This personality developed when he started working for the gang as a clean up guy. Having to hide such large bodies was not easy without having to split it into pieces. Despite the first time he did it being horrific, he found the tasks to be absolutely thrilling. It helped that his sister knew what she was doing and guided him into how to properly chop up a man without making a whole lot of mess. This personality is loud, disruptive and aggressive. He hits on women inappropriately and is frequently sleeping with women he just met. He's a handful with his employers but its worth to keep the man around as this personality only shows when he is working.
  • The Lost Boy - This personality is the weakest of the three and is rarely seen but in times of great distress with triggers. A 12 year old boy stuck inside a man's boy. This personality is the newest and most confusing one for Ammon to figure out. He's soft spoke and shy, acting much like a child who just got beat with a belt by his father. He stumbles through sentences and doesn't look most people in the eye. He clings to his sister for help as he only sees her in this personality, looking for someone to just love and accept him.   History:
  It was unclear how the Twins first arrived to America, when searching for their beginnings it was found out that they were sold, but apparently the America family who had bought them deemed them too much work...they were left at a fire station in NYC with only a thin sheet to protect them from the cold winter's night. They were immediately sent off to an orphanage where they were then placed into foster families, Ani was adopted by an older english couple who were living in the city, while Ammon was never adopted and kicked out of the foster system at 18. Ani was reminded that she had a brother years later when her mother got sick with pneumonia, when Ani was 24 years old. Ani began to retrace steps to find her brother again and was able to find Ammon quicker than she thought because he had racked up a large criminal record and lucky his name was unusual enough in the city.
  
  Ani spent a lot of time with her brother, catching on to his mental illness early on, which concerned her greatly. Her mother died when Ani was 36 years old and dying from a broken heart her father followed two months after. After burying her parents together, Ani decided that it was both best for Ammon and herself to move into their old home together.

  Stefano Emilio Carriveau was born originally as Stefano Emilio Altobello, his mother had died when he was only 7 years old passing away from pneumonia in her sleep. His mother had been the only family he had after his useless father walked out the door and never returned, his mother's family had turned her away ashamed of her child being born out of wedlock. With no where to go and no one to turn to, it the kindness of a neighbor who brought him to a small Catholic church that also ran an orphanage in the building nearby. Stefano remembered that first night well. Stefano wasn't as social as the other children and most of the time he relied on the Nuns to have a conversation with him. As a boy, he was entranced by the story of God, he didn't need to have the other children to play with and he didn't need to find a family as all he could ever want was laid out before him in the glory of God. Adoptions were slim and Stefano grew up in the orphanage going to school, attending daily masses and attending Bible school.
  
  Once he finished high school, Stefano wanted to move on to bigger and better things than just the small church in his tiny town. It was on his 18th birthday that he set out to travel far away from Rome. Using all of the money he had, he traveled to Paris always dreaming of seeing the famous Eiffel Tower for himself. It was there that he ran into the three most important people in his young adulthood. His foster parents, who were an older couple that took him in the first day he had gotten lost in the streets of Paris. He would stay with them for almost 7 years. They treated him as their son, so much so that he took on their last name legally. While in Paris, Stefano began talking classes at the local University which he worked towards a law degree. By the age of 25, he had successfully graduated from Law School and began to practice his craft at a law firm near his home.
  
  It was then in his first week that he met the love of his life, Angelic Rosa Biancardi. The story was that she had travelled all the way from New York to bail out her brother, who happened to be quite famous in the U.S. Michael-Angelo Biancardi was an infamous criminal who being held in Paris for a murder he swore he didn't commit. With his track record, Stefano wasn't sure he would be able to pull it off. Luckily for the Biancardi's, Stefano was dedicated to the case...maybe because of the cause...maybe because of the beautiful woman he got to see almost everyday, he would never tell. All he wanted to do was to put a smile on her face and when he had won the case, it was a smile he knew he had fallen in love with. Stefano left his little family to head to the States with the Biancardi's where he married Angelic almost 6 months later. A month or so after that, they were expecting a little girl, who would become Stefano's biggest regret.

  Brady or Bec as he's nicknamed by his friends, was a sweet kid up until he hit his teens. Once he became broody, it seemed to just stick. That doesn't mean the young man is just broody, but it is a whole part of who he is as a person. Brady is also...very complex. He feels misunderstood by a family who probably would understand him better than anyone. His intelligence is hard to contain and he just isn't sure what to do with it at times. Lost would be a word to describe him, destined to be so after years and years of being exposed to war on his family and in his home between his mother and father. Even when things were still, Brady still felt like he had to put up a fight and still does to this day. As much as he loves his family, affection is something that he doesn't openly welcome..tending to put up walls instead of letting them fall down. With his friends, he seems sure, knowing that it is important to have people his side that they could look up to and trust, acting as a natural leader when it comes to the Young Barons. He has a problem listening to others, especially those he deems to be "the man" and is short tempered when dealing with them. Brady does have a softer side to him, after you peel through the many many layers of broody angst that surrounds him.

  Brady's start in life was pretty normal, in the beginning of it all. In the first part of his life, Braden was hardly touched by the downfalls of the mob, his mother and father doing their very best to keep himself and his sisters from being exposed to such violence, he had a really normal life up until the point that his father was sent to prison. The first time Peter was sent to prison, Brady had thought he was the coolest man in the world, despite what his mother wanted him to believe. His old man put up a fight and prison and returned home to them a changed man. Before Peter went to prison for the second time, Brady and his father had grown closer than he could have ever thought. The man taught him everything he knew about the mob and how to defend himself in a fight. Though Peter thought he wasn't much of a fighter himself, Brady credits him for making him the young man he is today, along with his mothers smothering of course. Once they moved from Ireland to New York, Brady started to get into trouble. Around the age of 16 was when he met the Young Barons, having aided one of the younger members in a robbery attempt, they saw his potential and decided to start him at the very bottom of the ranks.
  
  Brady spent years working his way up through the ranks of the Barons, all the while trying to keep his activity away from his parent's noses. A year ago, he was finally made second in command to Hal, a position he had his eye on since he started. With a firm control with the Barons and his activity with his own family, Brady is kept busy and is rarely home during the day. When he is home, he can be seen hanging out with his sister and mother, or bugging his father if he's in a good mood.

  Like her older brother, Rachel was born in New York. Her father, a journalist, met her mother whilst on his travels for work. Once the couple were married, they both took up residence in Brooklyn.

  Penelope was born in Ukraine and lived there for a good chunk of her life. They weren't rich or anything, but they managed. In her early teens her father got offered a job in New York that was an amazing opportunity for their family. Her father decided to take it, it being the best decision for their family. They moved in with her father's sister's family for several months while their house was getting built. She became good friends wither cousin Rachel during this period of time as they shared a house.
  
  After they moved into their house they lost contact with the family as they became quite busy and lived on the other side of the city. Her father began to work most of the time and her mother became very disoriented in the city life, getting sick often. As years went by her mother became more accustomed to the city life. Around this time her parents began to try and have more kids, but it only led to many miscarriages.
  
  When Penelope was 16 her mother managed to succeed in becoming pregnant, her mother's mood becoming positive again. As a celebration her father was going to take them to a vacation outside the city. Things didn't go as planned however when their car crashed off a very steep hill. Her mother died by being impaled by a branch, but herself and her father lived. Her father's eyes were filled with glass however and his stomach had been slit open by a large shard of glass, he didn't survive surgery.
  
  Penelope managed to survive after months in the hospital and physiotherapy. Her limbs managed to heal from their breaks, along with her ribs, and cuts, however she did have a concussion that effected her more than her other injuries. Her memory is spotty at times and she often repeats things she has just said, not remembering saying it. After she had healed she was transferred to an orphanage while they contacted relatives.
  
  Penelope couldn't believe that her parents were dead and was in complete hysterics. She wasn't allowed to leave her room and she felt trapped and scared. So, she ran away. She ran home, trying to find her parents, but they weren't there. She tried all their usuals, her father's work, the park, market, everywhere. She didn't find them. They were really dead, and weren't coming back. She didn't return to the orphanage and continued to live on the streets.
  
  Her remaining family was contacted to look out for her, and some polices were searching for her. Months went by and they couldn't find her, her case becoming less of a priority. When she was 17 they still didn't find her, however her cousin recognized her and took her in. Giving her a place to stay and a job at the bar she worked at. She has been with her since then, her memory slightly better, but still experiencing problems with it.

  History:
  George's childhood was what can only be defined as 'normal'. Both of his parents were happily married and his working-class family had a roof over their heads. His father, Joseph, was a firefighter and often considered a hero throughout the community. George's parents were devout Catholics and so the family would attend church every Sunday, at the very least, and he grew up believing in God. The Sandersons were a popular family and they appreciated everything they had in life; their health and stable income.
  
  When the war began, Joseph volunteered to be stationed in Northern England, so he could assist with the understaffed and stretched emergency services. As the man of the house, George was left to look after his family whilst also maintaining his excellent grades in school. He didn't have his father's strength or heroic nature, but that didn't mean he was unable to step up and look after his family. He finished school at 16 and immediately found work as a trainee insurance salesman. With a good head for numbers, his charisma and his high intelligence, it wasn't long before George climbed the career ladder.
  
  By 19, George was a successful insurance broker for a company which provided services to businesses and to wealthier private customers. It was during this time that he saw potential to make himself a lot of money, through fraud and identity theft. He wasn't struggling financially and neither was his family, he simply saw an opportunity and decided to indulge himself so he could see how it felt to live like his rich clients did. Over the next couple of years, George managed to con people out of money and defraud businesses of large sums, including his own employer. It became something of an addiction. Not only did he enjoy buying new things for himself, but he took great satisfaction in treating his loved ones and watching their faces light up when he did.
  
  One thing that remained missing in his life was love. Real love. He'd been seeing a young woman named Emily since he was 20 and after a year, his parents had pestered him enough that he proposed to the young woman. George was never sure of how he felt for Emily. He cared greatly for her and considered her to be his best friend, but there was always something missing. People told him that would all change on their wedding night when they would finally share a bed together, but George never got to find out. A couple of months before the wedding, when he was 22, George's crimes were finally brought to light.
  
  Without him knowing, the police and his employer had been watching him for months and building up enough evidence to convict him. George returned home one day to find the police waiting for him, along with his parents and fiancee. Rather than admit to his crimes and allow the police to arrest him, George fled the scene. He didn't get very far before being apprehended. Being reckless and cocky, George refused to admit to his crimes and even gave a not guilty plea in court. During his trial, he took no responsibility for his crimes and merely stood by his beliefs that nobody suffered. He believed the big companies continued to profit and he caused them very little harm through his actions. By the time he was handed a ten-year prison sentence, George's father had furiously disowned him and forced his mother to do the same. Emily had called off the engagement and her family wanted nothing more to do with the Sandersons. The biggest regret George had was that he wouldn't be able to see his family and that he'd destroyed their reputation within the community and church.
  
  George's first few months in prison where the worst. He was seen as easy prey and regularly bullied. It wasn't until he was able to offer something to the prisoners that he began to make allies. He set himself up as a bookie, taking bets and arranging secret card games. Over time, he gained the trust as the prison guards and was seen as a low risk, non-violent prisoner. He was given jobs around the kitchen, library and workshop. This all worked in his favour as it allowed him more movement around the prison and the ability to smuggle items in and around the place. It was a few years into his sentence that he finally found closure on his failed relationship with Emily. To his shock and surprise, he fell for one of his cellmates, Richard Foster, and the two men developed a romantic relationship in secret. They were together for a year until Richard was released from prison. George never saw the man again, but received a call from Richard a few weeks later telling him their relationship was over and he'd never had any intention of continuing it outside of jail. This broke George's heart, but he soon bounced back from it and took it as a learning experience which he could only grow stronger from.
  
  In prison, George had heard many stories about the Irish Mob and the majority of them were unpleasant, with the Porters being portrayed as violent bullies. Whilst he was an open-minded man, it was Peter Callahan who swayed him towards thinking positively of the crime family. When Peter was locked up in the Dublin prison, he became George's new cellmate and the pair soon grew to be friends. Having struggled throughout his decade-long sentence to find many prisoners to have a decent conversation with, Peter was a breath of fresh air. George soon came to realise the Porters weren't as bad as the stories he'd heard. It was also through Peter that George first met Finn Sullivan. Although at first it had been a crush on Finn that he didn't expect to amount to anything else, George was able to speak with Finn during visiting time and the pair soon became friends. It didn't take long for George to fall for Finn and after a little while he suspected the other man could be attracted to men himself.
  
  When George was finally released on parole, he and Finn met up on the outside as friends. It was during that time that George confessed his feelings to Finn, but the other man at first struggled to come to terms with the revelation. However, after a little more time, Finn eventually realised that he was attracted to George and the two men became an item. Despite wanting to share their relationship with the world, they knew they had to keep it a secret as people wouldn't understand that two men could be in love. They kept their romance to themselves, letting everyone else think they were just good friends. Unfortunately, a short time into their relationship, Finns's Aunt Shannon caught the pair in a compromising position. The woman couldn't understand that the two men were together and George could see how much it hurt Finn that his aunt wasn't accepting of his happiness.

  Finn lost his parents when he was only just a lad. His sister and him had to learn to be on their own after they died and things weren't as easy as others made it seem. Finn had to provide for his sister and help her live her dreams, so in order to do so, he dropped out of medical school and decided to move them back to Chicago to stay with his Aunt and Uncle. The family was known as criminals, something his parents had tried to keep himself and his sister out of for a very long time. Finn had tried to do the same, not feeling ashamed of the people he called family, but more or less wasn't ready to face such intensity yet. His Aunt and Uncle welcomed them with open arms. And the rest was history really. Maggie (his sister) left Chicago to travel, just as Finn wished she would. And Finn soon after the war ended returned to finish the rest of his schooling in the medical field before setting off with his lady love, Eleanor and traveling the world with her, spreading education of medicine to countries of less fortune and providing health care for those who go without..

  Rebel pretty much lives up to her name. Originally thought to have been a boy, it was quite the surprise to her parents when a girl came along. Having to keep up with 7 other brothers, Rebel was a feisty child to begin with. Picking fights was never her way of doing things but if someone else picked a fight with her, she was happy to oblige. Compared to her brothers, Rebel had always been on the smarter side of the spectrum, very intelligent and quick as a whip when it came to street smarts. The woman likes to stay within her own unit, making her appear as shy to most people she meets. Not one for carrying on long conversations except with those she deems important enough, Rebel has a calming air about her. In a fight or in danger, she is a completely different soul. Who doesn't enjoy a good fight? As much as she does, she would rather try and find a solution through words unless the situation calls for it. Although rarely seen through work, Rebel has a stands out above the rest and tends to have a problem with authority, thus her name. Another side of her that's rarely seen with her collegaues is the relaxed side of her that enjoys to have more than a few drinks and a night in the sheets.

  History:
  Rebel is the youngest and last of the Holt children, orignially anticipated to be a boy, it was surprising to all of the family when a baby girl was born. They decided to keep the name that was meant for a boy, which ended up giving her quite a bit of trouble as she grew up. Growing up with 7 brothers wasn't the easiest thing in the world, especially growing up in a military family. Things were strict around the house and it almost felt like it was a military base. She was lucky enough, never had to see war as her mother would never allow it, but she did learn a lot of combat training from her brothers when they would come home from leave, their old man being too old to teach her himself.
  
  As Rebel got older, she had a lot of children teasing her for her name, the unlady like way she dressed in trousers and baggy shirts and the shortness of her hair. Rebel was never the one to start the fights as she tended to shy away from the teasing but once someone else started the fight, she was all in. After taking it too far in high school, breaking a kids collarbone with a single kick to the shoulder, Rebel was expelled from school and never returned again. Things at home only proceeded to get worse from there and although her family had supported her in the beginning, it was clear she wasn't going to do what they wanted her to. Rebel was kicked out of her Colorado home in 1964 and hadn't returned since.

Personality: Keegan is a man who keeps his cards largely to himself, often coming across as cold and often holds a violent aura about him despite the cool and collected demeanor he often portrays. The mob has had a large impact on him growing up, a young boy who was witness to violence at a young age, the power that came with such an affiliation on the playground at school. One may only see the blood and violence that seems to follow him, even that of his prison sentence, but he is a man trying to step out of his father’s shadow.

On the flip side, should you either be family or friend, you may witness a different side of Keegan. Not a huge difference (mind you) but he is more open, more willing to show his softer underbelly. He is a man loyal to his blood and there wouldn’t be anything he wouldn’t do for them.

History: The world was coming out of an economic depression when on the 2nd of June 1930, Keegan Lynch was born to Siobhan and Patrick Lynch. Keegan was the first in the long line of Lynch siblings, born in a dingy and darkened Lower East Side flat and soon to be followed by another eight (five younger brothers and two younger sisters)

Feeding multiple mouths became Keegan’s job, scrounging around on the streets from a young age and skipping classes from school. He had been there for every birth of his siblings when his father wasn’t. His father had never been physically abusive, but domineering and yet absent whenever Siobhan needed him the most (often to be found drinking and gambling). The Sullivan gang had been his first in with the life as a mobster, his mother’s sister - Teresa - having married into the family. It was under the watchful eye of his uncle Jack Sullivan, that he would start his life of crime.

1950 would be his first introduction to the inside of a jail cell, just a year after the war with the Romanos had ended, caught on the charges of assault. Keegan had been running with several others from the Sullivan gang when he had been caught off-guard by police storming his apartment. Though given the chance to decrease his sentence, Keegan was not handing over the names of others who had been involved in the crime.

Eight years were spent in jail, receiving word that his uncle had died a year prior when he got out.

A lot of people had come and gone from the gang during this time, even with his sisters attempting to go on the straight and narrow, Keegan was quick to drag his brothers back into the fold - picking up where he had left off.

1965 saw a turning point, with Liam Sullivan murdered by a rival family and the family business moving to New York City. Sparking a lingering flame and the war with the Morettis had begun. Kevin had been caught in the crossfire with a couple of Moretti thugs, causing Keegan to go ballistic; wanting vengeance.

It was a few short years in prison (from 1966 to 1969), convicted of assault that a good lawyer had managed to make it seem like Keegan had been doing it in self-defense and severely cut down his time in the drink. Once he had gotten out, he had returned to being an enforcer and security for the Porter-Sullivan gang, working several different shifts at Sullivan pubs around town.

  - When his kids were growing up, Gabriel was strict and controlling, but at the same time cared and spent time with them. To some extent, that is still the case now they're adults!

  History:
  
  Gabriel was born in Sicily in 1922. His father was a consigliere to the head of the mafia is Sicily. Gabriel was always closest to his older brother, Francesco. Their father tended to overlook Gabriel as he was set on priming Francesco to follow in his footsteps, which often left Gabriel living in his brother's shadow. However, Francesco looked out for him and taught him most of what he now knows, including how to fight and defend himself. Fresh into adulthood, Gabriel fought in WWII where he trained even harder in physical combat, gunfire, resilience and self-defence.
  
  In 1950, Francesco and his immediate family, along with their sister, moved to New York, tasked with leading the operations there. At that time, Jack Sullivan led the Irish Mob, with control over the city. The Morettis kept under the radar and complied with the mob's rules. Meanwhile, Gabriel was sent to run Moretti business in Miami, keeping up their network, sourcing contraband and generally carrying out any orders Francesco passed down to him. With both men having large egos, ruthless natures and great aspirations, there were often disagreements and falling outs between the brothers. Regardless, the close brothers always reconciled; remaining close and loyal towards each other.
  
  In 1957, Jack Sullivan died and his son, Liam Sullivan, took over the Irish Mob in New York. As the years went on, the Morettis began crossing the Sullivans and plotting their rise to power; to take over the city. After a number of attacks on Moretti associates, Francesco executed his plan to murder Liam Sullivan. He was the one to shoot the mob boss dead in 1965. Still, the Morettis failed to take advantage of the aftermath of Liam's death as the Porters rushed in to take over the Irish mob and retained most of the hold the Sullivans had always had over New York.
  
  In 1969, the Porters lost patience with the Morettis who had been crossing them and attacking the Irish gang members. James ordered Francesco's death in retaliation for the killing of Liam. The Morettis were wiped out when the family gathered for Francesco's birthday party and the venue was destroyed in an explosion. Any remaining senior members of the Italian family were then gunned down.
  
  Wrongly believed to have been in attendance at the party, Gabriel, his wife and their kids escaped death. With the Porters believing they'd killed all of Francesco's family, Gabriel laid low in Miami. He has since been operating from there and building up allies. He has been recruiting Porter rivals, old and new. He's been gaining intelligence on the family from Maddox Parker as well as forging loyalties with others gangs, such as the East Harlem Gang and The Biancardis.
  
  Now confident in the power he has developed and the Porters being weakened, Gabriel is set to move to New York to take over the city and get revenge on behalf of his murdered family members. Believing there will always be more Porters waiting to take over, he knows killing James and his family wouldn't be enough. Killing James isn't his direct intention. He wants to take away the Porters' power and steal their businesses from under their noses.

  First meeting Elvian you'd think she was just a quiet soul sitting around to just look pretty. As captivating as she was, no one would ever truly try to get to know her as there was something sort of... ominous about the air around her. The way she stared during the conversations that were being held scared most men, intimidated them even. But, what people did know was that she was smart and very calculative, not making any sort of move until she was able to predict the outcome. About 83% of the time she was able to predict outcomes based on her research and she prided herself in this. It made her a valuable asset but what helped her out, even more, was her ability to woo men. Sometimes all it took was a smile to get information out of someone and other times a little more provocative. Rarely had she had to use worse methods, like her waterboarding days, to get information out of someone. Even though she had sweet and caring tendencies, she was more so a hard ass with a smile type of person. She made sure you were doing the right thing and usually the right thing was making sure she and her family were safe from hazards. Elvian pushed people to be better versions of themselves whether it was her kids or the people who worked for her. She wasn't going to take anything less than "perfection" at all times. Even if she wasn't given perfection, she would still stay loyal to them so long as they didn't betray her. Once something like this happens, she becomes the devil himself and most likely will go on a psychopathic rampage in which you'll be dead after she takes her anger out on you.

  Mrs. Moretti was born 10 November, 1925 in Liguria, Italy to a Romanian mother and Italian father. Her parents were commonfolk, her mother owning the biggest and most frequently visited flower shop in Italy and her father an investor and painter. Elvian lived a comfortable life, but she always felt as if this life were meant for someone else. Her parents always wanted her to be tame and control her, but she was as wild as the wind was. They forced her to go to an all girls school at the age of 12, hoping it would calm her free-spirit a little and teach her some control. While she was there, she did learn a lot more things about life and essentially how to be a woman, but she also learned traits her parents weren't expecting her to come back home with at age 18. While she had come back a lot calmer than when she left, she came back with a newer sense of self-awareness and her parents were loving it. Eventually they would learn this new sense of self meant she was no longer going to be the daughter they knew.
  
  Having graduated from secondary school, she decided she was going to continue her education in the business world to maybe one day take over her mother's growing floral business. While away at Uni, she started to go out more with her friends to parties and clubs. Some nights she would let loose but it was a rarity and others she would be more poised. Even though she no longer needed to be this perfect little daughter, something in her said she should still keep up with the facade. Not having to be around her parents anymore, she was finally able to be who she wanted when she saw fit. Being married for so long, she doesn't quite remember how she met Gabe, but she does know she was 18 and in Sicily on a girls trip and she fell in love. Her parents didn't approve, of course, as they saw him as a ruffian. He didn't come from their island, he fought in the war, he had to be a ruffian, right? Elvian didn't care as he was like a breath of fresh air and their opinions now in her life meant squat. After a few years, they got over the fact that their daughter was leaving and wished her the death. It was around that time that they both passed away. Her father in a tragic boating incident and her mother from taking her own life due to heartbreak.
  
  When her husband wanted to move, the death of her parents made it that much easier to get up and go. The only ties she would have were the floral shop, to which she maintained legal rights to, but let other people run it. This new criminal life took some getting used to as she didn't know a thing about it. But as the years progressed, she learned and took note and understood how things in life worked. She was grateful that she had, especially during the times her life was tried. It helped her teach her children how to behave and handle things that were thrown at them better. The only issue now they were trying to face was this Porter/Sullivan problem... If she had to do one more flower arrangement for her family there was going to be hell to pay.

  Our charming Theodore is really an asshole with almost no regard for anyone but himself. While most people would normally put themselves before others, he puts himself before others. His philosophy is why try to help other people when all they're going to do is either destroy themselves or not take the advice he gives them? Unless he deems them worthy, then he will do his best to look out for them the same way he does for himself. Because he's so charming and very skilled in communication, no one really sees him for who he really is. A selfish ass with almost no good tendencies whatsoever. Some people ask him if he even has a conscience and while he sometimes debates this with himself, he's come to the conclusion that no he doesn't. Having something as fickle as a conscience or regard for other people would just slow him down, so he's limited himself to caring about 3 people maximum. When he's not being a sarcastic smart ass, he can really be quite charming. He just has a natural charisma that draws people to him like a superpower and knows just how to keep their attention on him. Teddy is also very smart, in both books and street knowledge as he always made it an important task to know everything he could about anything. He prefers talking to someone opposed to resorting to violence and actually sort of dislikes it. Anytime he's forced to do so it pisses him off and he'll go on some sort of bender in an attempt to wash his hands off whatever blood was on them.

  History:
  Theodore "Teddy" Wycliff was born in 1939 in Manhattan, New York. His father owned several businesses most of which gangsters frequented and his mother was a showgirl. He went to school with the uppermost elite and of course, always got into trouble. The only reason he got into so much trouble was that he was always picked on and bullied. His father always taught him that his words were more powerful than using his fists; Teddy was starting to doubt this as his ass was always getting kicked. Mom always thought he should fight back with his hands but one day her son surprised her by informing that fighting only caused him more issues. It gave the bigger kids more of a reason to beat him up when he fought back. So, one day he devised a plan that would more than likely put an end to all this bullying. He found a way to get all the kids that had put a hand on him expelled from their prestigious school and anyone who watched him get beat up and said nothing got what they deserved. From then on, kids knew not to touch him and he became quite popular despite his small stature.
  
  When he went on to high school, his tales and reputation from middle school followed him. All the attention he got soon floated to his head and he began to become reckless. It wasn't just the attention, but the pressure of knowing that soon he would have to go on to college to learn to take over whatever businesses his father would leave him and how to acquire some of her own. He wanted to be able to enjoy himself before that time, so he resorted to drugs, alcohol, girls. Several times he should have been locked up but because of who his father was in cahoots with, they never dared. Instead, they'd deliver him to his parents a bit roughed up and smelling of alcohol. Several times his father tried to send him away, but his dying mother wouldn't have it. She wanted her boy around in her last days and because he loved his wife, he allowed it. It wasn't until her death when Teddy had begun his 3rd year in college, that he finally started to get his life together. It was her dying wish that he stopped the heavy partying, drinking, and drugs and thought about his future, mending his relationship with his father. He was reluctant but he had given in to it.
  
  His father took him to Miami after his graduation. He had said he wanted to dive right into learning about his businesses and to meet the men he was in business with. One of these men was Gabriel Moretti, a man Teddy knew of but not much about. Teddy was going to stay in Miami, his father informed him, and take over the family businesses there and work closely with his friend.
