Three Thousand Club
So me and @Crispy Fries have been working on our mutual brainchild for an hour or two now and want to both find preliminary players before the actual interest check and possibly a decent map maker to get us a somewhat accurate, with room for error, and some intentional differences, map of 1980s Los Angeles.
So here's the skinny. Understand this may partially change.
A series of events in the last decade has led to the near collapse of America. Citizens had become disillusioned of the government and each other, with the economy crumbling. Soon, taxes were unbearable, crime had soared, racial conflicts escalated, a major drug problem plagued the nation, and riots shook every city to the core. Mass murders had become common, police were corrupt, and the government itself was inefficient.
Vigilantes, varying in age, equipment, and experience, would rise up across the country, taking matters into their own hands. They won fame and adoration from the public, as the media televised their increasingly morbid victories against crime on every TV, radio and newspaper of the nation.
The government would crack down, pulling back armies from every corner of the world to restore faith in the hearts of every American. Widespread anarchy, uprisings, would come into fruition almost overnight with each vigilante killed.
The United States of America ceased, and fifty countries took their place.
The USSR, China, North Korea: these nations had won bloody campaigns in Asia without America to face them. The U.N. had suffered a crippling defeat in Taiwan from China's invading armies, and had nearly disintegrated when the Soviets started to push farther and farther into Europe. Even America itself was attacked. Russian forces, landing in Hawaii and Alaska, were only barely beat back with a banding together of states. Hawaii was nuked by the Russians. Alaska had become so war-torn and depopulated that it had become a province of Canada.
Regardless of all that had happened, the 1984 Summer Olympics was staged in Los Angeles, promising to be the most profitable and attended event of all history.
It would go downhill very fast. Multiple incidents involving gangs, vigilantes and players from each participant would lead to WW3.
Characters will be police, members of the mafia, and vigilantes in the city of Los Angeles as the Republic of California wages war. Taking control of mafias, seeking promotion in the LAPD, and publicity for their debatably good deeds.
