~East and West Side of Clastion~

Time: 3:32am
Date: 13th March 2017

The sun has not yet risen on the city of Clastion, many people still asleep in their homes completely unaware of the night life that surrounds them. People were still roaming the streets of the East side after the crazy night with their friends at the bar. Druggies still high from their last shot in the old abandoned warehouse that they call 'safe'. Those who were still awake were surrounding a mysterious dead body, blue and red lights flashing down the streets gathering more attention than it should. The body was found half naked on the side of the road with a black blanket over it, her face completely pale and the life taken from her eyes. It didn't look mysterious at all until local police officers discovered a note stuck into her chest by a golden pin.

Isn't it scary knowing that any time could be the last time you talk to someone?
Keep that in mind.
The cold air nipped at everyone's noses and the sound of generators in the dirty allies, a tall figure's silhouette was seen under the street lights on the street followed by echoing footsteps. The tall figure stood over the rest of the police showing his I.D. to one of the members. "You have twelve minutes to explain to me what is going on." His face remained hard and emotionless although it was hard to see since the hat he was wearing casted a hard shadow over the majority of his face. The officer stood there rubbing his hands together and blowing on them while he nodded his head, a cloud of white left his mouth as he spoke. "Yes Chief. Lady presumed to be in her mid-to-early thirties was found at three by that lady over there," He pointed with his closed hands to a young lady that looked like a hooker, the man's face still remaining the same. "She was found half naked with this note stuck to her..." A grin painted itself on his face as he opened his arms mimicking that of a woman holding her breasts, still nothing on the man's face. "Get over yourself officer." The Chief's tone sharp and bitter, his jaw clenching as he grabbed the note and pin in the plastic bag.

The body was picked up in a body bag and placed on the moveable bed and transferred into the ambulance that awaited the body's arrival. Something dropped onto the black night road and shone under the street light, the man looked at it and walked over to it picking it up with his leather glove. It was a golden bullet, small in size and rathe skinny and petite. He scoffed a little as he noticed the engraving on the back of the bullet, the initials R.M. he knew it had to have something to do with the constant war between the East and West side. The sun began to slowly rise on the harbour of Clastion as the sky lit up with oranges and pinks, blues and purples. The sky mirrored in the glass windows of the buildings showing two different worlds that shared the same sky. The streets started to crowd themselves and cars became abundant on the roads, people still unaware of what happened.

Edward silently observed the scene unfold from his corner of the street. To anyone else, him and his two cronies appeared little more than commoners smoking outside after a night out at an East club somewhere. Only the occasional glance flicked in the ambulance's direction would suggest otherwise.

"Whad'ya think, Omerta?" His colleague muttered, as if he were making small talk.

Edward slowly played with the smoke in his mouth. He exhaled. "I don't think anything yet." His reply was equally discreet. After a long moment, he flicked his cigarette onto the pavement, putting it out with his brogue. "Let's get out of here." He said at last, smoothing the wrinkles from his waistcoat. "I'm allergic to feds."

The trio moved as one, Edward at the lead. The few bystanders in their path found somewhere else to be, as if the group was a repelling magnet. "'Shame the cops got to it first. 'Wonder what that note they found said." The third turned an eye back to the crime scene.

Edward acknowledged this with a nod.

"We'll ask the killer personally when we find them."

Shannon is one of those early birds that wake up early and fulfil wifely duties and prepare things for the day, in this case she woke up once her alarm went off though was quickly frowned upon by Shannon when she tapped the button. Last night's drinks with friends was not the best idea that she had come up with but it was fun in the moment, she groaned as she sat up in her bed and walked off into the bathroom to get ready for the day. She wore a black pencil skirt that fell just under her knees with matching heels and a white button up blouse that she tucked into her shirt and the sleeves being rolled up to her elbows, her black hair rolled up in a bun supported by a few bobby pins. Her makeup was simple; cherry red lacanche lipstick, mascara matching her minimal amount of eyeliner and just a small amount of foundation and concealer. She walked down to the kitchen downstairs where she prepared for her family's breakfast of bacon and eggs with toast while the morning news talked in the background.

She heard something about a murder that had happened that morning, she noticed that it was Lilly, her daughter's teacher. Shannon sliced her finger a little while not paying attention to cutting her little girl's orange for her lunch, she hissed and sucked on it walking to the kitchen first aid cabinet getting a blue plaster to place over it. She took out her daughter's little multivitamins as well as Walter's and hers, and the hangover tablets she liked to call "the angels that bless us". She filled her little daughter's cup with juice while she poured coffee for both of the adults, she smiled when she heard Walter's alarm go off from upstairs and Lilly running out into the kitchen in her little school uniform. "Hello mummy!" Shannon greeted her daughter with open arms before being run into by the little human hugging her back, she rubbed her hair and kissed her forehead smiling. "Good morning gorgeous, how was your sleep?" Shannon didn't want to mention the latest murder that she had heard about and didn't want her to find about it. The little girl nodded her head when she sat on the chair on the kitchen bench and started on her breakfast meal.

Moonlight filtered in through an expanse of black curtains, illuminating the room and all within its bounds with an ethereal glow that danced about all corners and crevices as one would imagine pixie dust to do. The bedroom was quite astounding in size, decorated almost seamlessly with a number of ribbons and mirrors all strewn together. The walls were renovated with illustrations of forestry, and other than the circular queen sized bed adjourned in the middle of the room, it was empty of all other essentials. A female form lay languid, creamy naked skin caressed by silk sheets the color of aquatic blue, arms and legs spread haphazardly across the supple mattress. The female was quite breathtaking in her natural state, blessed with an oval face and clear pale complexion, whereas a pair of eyes the hue of a blue and green mingling together to create the semblance of a jade stone. Her nose was pert, and upon it sat a small diamond piercing, barely noticeable unless one glanced close enough. Her lips were a soft pink, matching the tint of blush brushed across her cheeks. One could tell from a single glance the female was small in stature, only reaching four foot eleven. Her legs swung out from across the mattress, feet coming to settle on the floor as she shuffled toward the window. She raised one arm, bringing her hand to the curtains in order to push them aside. Her gaze fell upon the scene befalling the city, a barely audible gasp escaping in her alarm.

She had no idea what had befallen the poor woman, but she did not think it was something she was willing to find out. Despite this, as she caught sight of Edward striding down the street among two other unnamed males, she was quick to rush her way to the closet and toss on a pair of ripped blue jeans and a large shirt in order to be presentable enough to approach him. He would, more than likely, have an insight as to what had happened. She tried to dispel the curiosity that managed to sink its greedy claw into her, but Marie was a curious young lady. She rarely, if ever, gave any thought as to how dangerous an event could be before running in at all haste. It was a trait she had been scolded for on more than one occasion, but she was quick to forget each reprimanding a few moments later when her attention flittered to another matter. As she scrambled down the staircase and out the door, the cold air knocked her square in the face, nipping at her nose incessantly. A small shiver racked her frame, but she paid the weather little heed. Instead, she glanced about in a desperate measure in order to make sure no one had caught sight of her, before approaching Edward.

"Hey, wait!" She called out with just enough force to be heard a few feet ahead, despite her earlier misgivings at being unnoticed. She knew, without a doubt, Larry would be upset with her if he knew she was out and about, galavanting at random hours in the night in order to gain more information on a crime. He had somewhat adopted her, as she reminded him of his deceased daughter, and the old man showered her in kindness where she knew only hardship. She was forever thankful for him, but as she grew older she began to go about her life in a way he did not always approve. He had, for some reason or another, drawn Marie into the Mafia family; which, overtime, became a family to her. Though she spent time mingling amongst some of the more dangerous men and women in the family, she somehow stayed pure of the taint of darkness and cruelty that sometimes befell even the most innocent of souls. She had stayed pure and kind, a rarity among them.

A smile graced her face as she jogged over to Edward, though there was a glimmer in her eyes that spoke of her concern. "Hey, hey. Wait. Please." She huffed as she came to a stop.

"Do you know what happened? I saw the lady from my window and thought- oh, nevermind. Who cares what I thought. What happened?"
She repeated.

Walter woke with a start, after hearing his little girl and their daughter from downstairs he walked down stairs like a bat, and jumped from behind Shannon and said "HI" and then walked over to his little daughter "Hello, hows daddy's girl" He said snatching her up and holding her upside down. Walter even though he was an underworld ruler he was nice with his family and he was nice to people who were nice to him. As he walked back upstairs he bumped into their unruly son, Charles. "Oh morning dad" Charles said as he stomped downstairs. 'God I'm going to kill him one-day' Walter said as he walked into their bedroom, he yelled downstairs "SHANNON, ITS DAVE'S BIRTHDAY PARTY TONIGHT" And grabbed a suit to wear to work.

Julie had been doing some work Walter had instructed her to get done by morning thus she really hadn't slept her head seemed to be throbbing and she could barely stand on her two feet from the dizziness. Not to mention the flash of light the passed her almost causing her to lose her balance Julie managed to regain her balance and once she did she tried to focus on the person who almost runs her over. Julie couldn't tell if it was male or female the haircut put her off and if it was a woman she had a beautiful body. Who ever it was she/he was runing pretty fast and Julie didn't think she could catch up even if she took off her heels. When the figure stopped and its face became visible Julie seemed to have recognized who it was yet the person who she was talking to was also a person she knew. Her curiosity got the best of her and also worry why was she running? Julie tends to think of the worst possible things based on peoples actions. Shaking her head she shook the negative possibilities away and walked over to Marie and Edward. Once she reached them she placed a hand on Marie's shoulder, "Marie what's wrong? Are you ok?"

Walter called Julie. "Julie its Walter, is it done yet?" He asked into her answer phone and waited for a reply. He walked downstairs and kissed his wife and daughter and went to his Tesla, and drove to work. He got to his office and sat in his chair, "Hey, boss, you have a job on 5th and Charleston" His assistant called from her desk "Ok Mary" 'Why is every assistant I've hired called Mary' He thought to himself as he drove to the place. He called his wife "Hey honey, could you pick up some pizza for the kids for dinner, I just got a call Dave's in the hospital. Thanks" And got out of the car. He walked into the building. "I'm home" He called and slipped out his gun....

He then got a call saying something about a murder and how they thought he was gonna kill them next. "Oh please" He said "If I was going to kill you I would have done it already" And hung up

"Good evening Miss Jones." One of Edward's sidemen chirped. "I hope-" Whatever he was about to say was interrupted by Edward snapping his fingers in front of him.
"Now is not the time, cugino."
Edward tutted without averting his gaze from Marie. "The woman you saw was murdered, the feds found a note on her body." He tapped another cigarette from his pack. "Though whatever is written upon it is known only to them." As he struck a match, none other than Miss Valentine appeared, hand on Sunny's shoulder. "Ah, Singorina Valentine. As I just informed Marie here, there's been a murder, seemingly by a serial killer." Smoke curled from his mouth, mingling with the chill night air. He sighed. "Having a killer running around is bad for business. The sooner this cagna is found, the better."

Walter called someone he knew would like to help. "Oh Edward, it's your lovey Dovey Wife, now get to 5th and Chaleston, before you know, the feds are here. Love you." He said in the most sarcastic tone and hung up. "Well, say bye" And threw a smoke bomb in there and hopped into his car. "Mary darling, have the office ready and make a martini, with a slice of cheesecake and a charging point for the car"
"Will do sir" She said and hung up, oh how he loved Mary, too bad she'll be dead before noon.

A smile brightened her expression, eyes alight with merriment and a small hint of curiosity still mingling in their depths. She opened her mouth to offer a reply to whatever the man next to Edward went to say, but he was rebuked before a full sentence could be finished. Her lips pulled into a frown, brows bunching together as she cast Edward a disparaging glance from beneath her lashes. At his callous words, she disregarded the comment formulating at the back of her mind. Instead, her pallor paled. She drew in a deep breath, making an effort to piece together a reply befitting of the grave matter at hand, but before she could let loose the scalding curse at the tip of her tongue, she felt a hand come to rest on her shoulder. Startled. she whipped her head to the side, eyes falling upon the other woman. Julie, face alight with concern, inquired about her wellbeing. She felt the smallest niche of guilt for worrying the other woman, making sure to rid her face of any show of inner turmoil currently churning within her abdomen. "Do not fret." She flashed a small smile in her direction, before her attention returning to Edward.

"It is as Edward here has said. Someone has been murdered by a serial killer, apparently. Which means it isn't safe for us to be out and about. Not that it is going to stop me." She clucked under her tongue, rolling her eyes as she did so. "We all know I'm a bit on the wild side, and won't no serial killer stop me from doing what needs to be done. I just hope they find him or her before I get my hands on them. I'll kick their darn butt. A left hook here, a right hook there." She teased, making an attempt to lighten the tense atmosphere and appear somewhat unaffected. Meanwhile, she internally battled with feelings of fright, knowing that woman could have very well been her or someone she knew and cared for. Though she was the spunky, outgoing one in the bunch, she often felt an overwhelming amount of fear shadowing her every move. Ever since she was a young girl, and was privy to see all the darkness men and women could prey upon those weaker, it seemed to be a constant companion. She refused to let the others know of her weakness; as it could do nothing but alter their perception of her. As it was, she wasn't quite sure how much either knew about her background, but if she had to hazard a guess she wouldn't think it to be much at all. Which is what she preferred; she wouldn't be able to stand the judgement and loathing in their eyes if they did discover the state of the woman in their midst.

She wondered, albeit briefly, what had caused the young woman's end. Had it been a fight with a lover, or maybe a stranger? She didn't know which was more frightening. To be killed by someone you knew and trusted or left unsuspecting in the face of the unknown. It was not fair that she had suffered so; she looked to be quite young. It just went to show that no one was safe. It was odd. Marie was surrounded with criminals on almost every occasion, but failed to feel uncomfortable or in danger in their presence like she did just walking down the street.

~Barry Linsheart~
Barry saw the odd gang member around the scene that had unfortunately unraveled in front of them, although as much as he was able to chase them down the street and arrest them on the spot, the man was much to tired and careless this early in the morning. He knew as much as he wanted to kill them, they also wanted to kill him, and even though the gang members were out-numbered there would be a series of court trials and paper forms to fill out which he really thought could be done once enough evidence is provided. It was a risky war between the two, the gangs against the police... Just typical drama in Clastion. The man thought his business at the scene was done and was, for anything, rather annoyed at the officer for calling him in to work at such an early time. Barry made his way down the streets into the more friendly and acceptable place for a policeman to be walking around, he squinted his eyes when the sun was beginning to rise the black lenses that were hiding his eyes not doing much to protect them. There was a coffee shop around the corner, the man took off his trench coat that was keeping him warm when he walked into the facility. The local barrister, a young girl by the name of Sarah smiled and waved at the man, already performing her morning coffee routine for the man. "Good morning Sarah, and I see you are doing rather swell this morning. It is such a lovely sight your smile is, anyone would be a fool not to be lifted by such a beauty." Barry smiled at the young girl as she blushed a little at the compliment, nodding her head along to what he was saying, laughing a little bit of embarrassment. The godly aromas of coffee blends penetrated everyone's noses, it was almost like walking into a warm autumn season that made you feel like you were in heaven. "Would you be dining in with us officer, or taking away? And may I offer you a once of our selected menus?"

"Actually Sarah, I think I may drink here thank you." He looked at what the menu had to offer, he was a rather picky man, he sat down at one of the tables taking his hat off and glasses scratching his almost bald head. "I am afraid I have to decline such a wonderful menu." Lie number one for today. The message on the note ran through his head as he stared out of the window of the coffee shop, his posture that off a prince. He looked up at Sarah with glowing eyes, only she could make him seem like such a happy soft man, she reminded him a lot of... Well... I guess you will have to wait and find out what she reminds him of.

~Shannon Cansino~
A wicked laugh was heard from the little girl when Shannon jumped in surprise at Walter's entrance "Morning to you too." Shannon smiled at Walter and Lilly, it really was understandable why she liked him more than her. "Come on Walter put her down she needs to eat." She went back to preparing the little girls lunch while watching the television until she heard a familiar voice come from upstairs, she finally got to put a face to the voices when Charles walked down he stairs and into the kitchen, looking through the fridge. "You're not bad are you Charles? How about a good morning mum, how was your sleep?" Charles poked his tongue out at Shannon as a joke before pulling out the carton of milk and drinking it, Shannon poking her tongue back at him. She shook her head when she heard Walter yelling from upstairs, "It's a Monday night, why is he having something on a Monday night?" Lilly walked up to the bench with her dishes before walking off into the bathroom, she looked at Charles who was stuffing his face with some of the left over bacon that she had made. "Come on, move it or you can find your own way to school." Despite being 19, Charles still went to school but was still training to be a police officer that he refused to tell his parents. He too walked off until the pair of the kids walk back ready to go for the day. She kissed Walter when he left out the door, Shannon grabbed her keys and bag before walking the kids out of the door and into their car. Charles was first to go with a typical "I love you hunny have a great day at school." while blowing him a kiss, Lilly was next but she was walked into her classroom before vomiting on another kid so they sent her back home. Shannon called Walter while they were in the car. "Hey, I need you to take Lilly to work with you. She started vomiting as soon as we got there, I need you to take her to the doctors and look after her for the day."

Edward gave the merest roll of his eyes as he slipped his disposable cellphone back within the confines of his jacket. "It seems I am needed elsewhere. I do hope tonight's events will not disturb your evening." A slight incline of his head was his farewell as Edward and his trailing lackeys departed off down the street.

"So where we headed now, boss?"

"Chaleston. Walt wants a favor." One that probably involves putting a bullet in someone, if it's like anything else Walter usually asks him to do. Edward kept that part to himself.

Soon enough, the trio were driving to Walter's requested location. Edward, at the wheel, huffed in disappointment as he realised his cigarette pack that he reached for was empty. Prompted by a simple gesture, one of his understudies reluctantly passed him a new one.
"I still don't get how me carrying your cigarettes is gonna get me promoted."
Edward held up a finger. "Do not question your caporegime, cugino."
The henchman rolled his eyes. "And don't you think it's about time to switch to e-cigs?"
"I said no questions!"

Eventually the suburban house came into view. Edward pulled up by the sidewalk. As he exited the vehicle, he spoke to one of his goons. "Wait by the car. Just in case we need Tommy from the boot." With that, him and his remaining follower strode up to the house.

Edward knocked.

DANTE LEONARD JAMES
Mayor's son

Dante propped his legs up on the roof of his palace of a home. He enjoyed watching the sun paint the sky and it rose in the break of dawn. He was very much a thinker and to his dismay many didnct think before acting up. His sister for one spent too much time risking her life on the bad side of town, the east. And the murderous chant that surfaced that morning was nothing but pure thoughtlessness.

He ran a hand through his air observing the skyscrapers of the small town reaching up high and the yellow smog delaying the suns rays to light up the city. He saw the early risers begin to start their cars and thats when he heard an all too familiar alarm clock go off for the fifth time. It was his sisters in the room below him. He chuckled making his way down the roof and hopped in through the window of his sisters bedroom. He chucked a pillow at her as he walked out of her room and slid down the flight of staira. He greeted the doorman and cranked his motorcycle to life. He put the helmet over his head and zipped up the leather jacket a but before making his way to the police station.

DEIDRE CAMILLE JAMES
Mayor's daughter

Her hand searched for the alarm clock on her dresser until it toppled over to the ground ans silence again. She shifted under the covers and smiled as she felt the sun hit her cheeks-She knit her brows as a pillow slapped her in the face. " Leo..." she groaned as she rolled over in bed and rubbed her eyes yawning as she sat up. She looked out the window and smiled. New day. She hopped out of bed draghing her slippera as she made her way to the bathroom and lifted her hooded lids to see curls with a mind of their own. She flattened her hair with both hands but as soon as she let it go...poof! right back up again they went. It was pointless to reason with her hair and she smoothed it out best she could.

She slipped a pair of ripped jeans hat hugged her curves and a loose off the shoulder blouse that hung on the thick frame of hers. She lightly touched her face with a bit of makeup, and added a gloss to her lips. She smacked them as she made her way to her closet and scaveneged for her other wedge heel. " Where the...Aha!" She picked up the coral wedges slipping them on and then her john lennon sunglasses. She waved to the doorman as she was let out. She got on her own motorcycle and headed to the city.
