Dming for strangers, help?

I'll be dming for a group of strangers on Sunday, I'm not sure how it's going to go. Any advice/do's and don'ts? We'll be playing 5e on a homebrew campaign I made up

Go eat together before starting the game and try playing a simple board game first. It allow players to form an initial bond.
