For decades, the world has been plagued, draped in an endless darkness.
All people lived in a constant fear of what loomed outside their own cities, even their own homes. They trembled and shrieked at the slightest of sounds that were made. Even by the ones made by their own hands.
Armies fell as the darkness seeped farther and farther over the land. Few kingdoms stood against this dark time, and the ones that stood held on with bloody and dreadful fingers.
Few braved against this period of history, praying to the gods for good fortune for their futures. They were shunned as fools, abused by harsh words from the people. They were told to stop to their praying, as gods were simple myths. Their hope was stepped on and mangled by evil and filthy hands, kicked and beaten bloody.
But they held on. They held on to their hope and felt for the light that was swallowed by darkness, pulling for that last spark before it is gone completely. They prayed and prayed, and they looked with earnest and loving eyes towards the black sky, knowing their gods did exist. They just needed their faith.
And their hopes were answered. In their endless night, a crack appeared in the sky, shedding few rays onto faces of awe and disbelief. But the ones who held their hope, who stood against those evil hands, smiled at the first early sunshine of the first dawn in nearly a century of night.
As the darkness dissipated, temples were built. Shrines were erected, giving off a powerful aura with them as the divine beings blessed the land with their power once more.
Fresh rivers flowed through the dry riverbeds again, and tress grew where bones lay quiet and hallow. Flowers bloomed in fields of graves, and animals pranced along fields that before had died.
The gods found their hopeful prayers, and blessed them, showed them their divine power and passing some of their power to these individuals. They acted as the messengers for the spirits, bringing the world together with their blessings. These were the first of men, the Disciples, that flourished in the land.
The people found their hope once more, and cities were rebuilt. The fear was disappearing as the cattle drifted along and separated, growing out through the land as light broke the remains of the last age.
And a new one began.

Hello! My name is Refaulted, but you can call me Ref for short. Everyone else does.
So, this is an RP that was originally a story I had been writing for a school project. But the idea just seemed to difficult to put together into a few chapters and that could be written from one point of view. The world I thought of was flourishing and beautiful, filled with some many places that buzzed around my head and, honestly, gave me a bit of a headache! It was a huge world you couldn't just summarize in a few chapters.
So I decided to bring it here, with the help of others.
The land, Eldius, had been haunted by something that people call 'Fear', as that was the one emotion they could describe they felt during this time. It covered the continent for nearly a century, before the prayers of a few individuals were answered, and the gods showed their presence after so long. They brought the land back to life from what it was.
They also 'blessed' some of them, giving them abilities that pertained to different divine beings based on the persons morals and beliefs. This could be anything, from having a plant that towered above any head grow from a single seed the size of a speck of dirt, to summoning bolts of lightning and creating storms. They were dubbed Disciples, and were watched with a careful eye by the gods to make sure they stayed in line.
You, the player, while be a Disciple of the current generation, almost a century after the great disaster. You have been given a gift, and you should use it wisely!
You are given free roam of the world, and allowed to create a few areas yourself (with my permission and careful planning, of course)! Think of it like a 'Write Your Own Adventure' book that is constantly being written as you go. The possibilities are endless, and you can let your mind run wild!
You can ask me any questions or concerns you have, and I will be adding more information as time goes, such as the gods that are in this world, and major cities and landmarks, and the rules of the RP as well.
I hope to see you all soon in the world of Eldius!
