Connecting....

Welcome to the game.

You press the release card button, and the option disappears. The Release Spirit option is now in the center of the pixelated screen, and is flashing with a bright color.

====> Nora

You hear the shatter of glass, and narrowly duck as a paper card comes zooming past your land like a frisbee, and and lands on the floor near you.
I like birds I like birds

>Pick up card
Yes, you, Nora. Pick up the card! You've wasted enough time blabbering to your friend through Chatterbox. I can't believe you didn't pick it up when you first ducked out of the way for it.
Anyway, you managed to slide out of your seat in the kitchen, which was connected to the porch. Shattered glass scattered the floor, and cool breezy wind drifted into the cozy, yet shaking cottage through the hole.
You bent over far enough to pick up the card, flipping it over to reveal the other side, a shakey anticipation filling you for a moment.

> Remy: Download.

It's already downloading, you dipshit.

>Remy: Run to your guardian.

Hell no! There's no reason for that kind of childish action. You're old enough to hold your own against whatever game this is, and whatever it is that's out there.

>Game: Finish installing.

It's done.

====> Gale:
A loud honk can be heard from outside your home, alerting everyone (including your brother) of the rusty mailtruck driving up the road, and sloppily putting the disk into you crooked mailbox.

[FRUSTRATION AT 80%]
You let out a motherfucker under your breath, Et Tu Mailman. What did you do to the fucking mailman for him to betray you so, you don't have time to contemplate for you need quickly type out BRB and hit send, so not keep Casp hanging. in leaping out of your recliner and placing your laptop on the table beside your recliner.

Your brother has the advantage as he was on the first floor whereas you were on the second, you decide to forgo using the stairs and simply leap down on to the living room couch. You manage to stick the landing like a majestic fucking ballerina or something

You see your brother rushing towards the door, he having heard your landing gives stops briefly and turns to you with that cheeky grin of his which he only uses when he intends to do something to piss you the fuck right off, and just like that the dam of calmness has burst

[FRUSTRATION AT 100% ABANDON ALL HOPE]

"GET AWAY FROM THE DOOR, YOU MUTE JIZZRAG LICKING MONKEY!! DON'T YOU GOD FUCKING DAMN THINK ABOUT PAINTING MY MOTHERFUCKING GAME, OR I'LL SHOVE THE PROJECTOR SO FAR UP YOUR ASS THAT I'LL BE ABLE TO USE YOUR FUCKING INTESTINE AS FUCKING FILM REEL!!"

Your brother does the wise thing of simply opening the door for you and leaving, you know the fucker is laughing by the shaking of his shoulders. You watch him walk until he's seated on the couch before running out to pick up your Copy of DARKNESS
> Gale: Curse at the tentacles

Just as you feel something akin to wave calmness wash over you the moment you touch your copy of DARKNESS, almost as if someone is spitting upon your moment of happiness & calmness, a STUPID black tendril burst out of the ground.

MOTHERFUCKER!!

> Casp: INSTALL THE GAME QUICKLY

You don't even take time to open the wrapping paper, you just tear it up quickly and place it into your Macbook. You take in a nervous breath as it begins to install, you seem to be waiting for what seemed like forever.

Installing Darkness
33%.... 48%.... 69%....

You mutter so many cusses under your breath as you stared at the installing process that Gale's pottymouth would look like the purest thing on Earth compared to your's at the moment. But before you start cussing in French (which you learned on an online easy French website while studying for French class) you hear the sound of a car pulling over near your home you look out through your window to see a familiar black car quickly park outside your house. A certain classy, tailor suited gentleman with the same mustache that curled at the tips exited the driver's seat and basically sprinted out of the car, seeming to be too focused on a certain goal to notice the black tentacles leaving the ground.

Oh no. Bertler.

You quickly lock your room door. You cant let Bertler find out about the game. At least not now.

You glance at your Macbook, thinking whether to tell anyone about your current situation but quickly knock the option down. It wasn't needed, besides they couldn't help you even if they wanted to though you doubt they'd want to. You begin to think as quick as you can as your guardian, Mr. Bert who had finally arrived at home and began to knock rather urgently.

You turn over the card to see it's tarot card. It seems to be the eight of major tarots, called "THE CHARIOT"

[Frustration 0%: It's all good]
That sounds like a good plan

You grab the game and run your ass inside, ignoring the concerned look your brother gives you. Thanks to having felt the tremor that was happening due to the earth's sudden evolution to a Japanese pervert's love monster, you, of course, hope that the tentacles are more interested in causing destruction than groping.

You make it your room and quickly place yourself in the recliner, cause if you're going to die, you're going to die comfortably.

So with your ass in the seat, you grab the laptop from the coffee table and begin installing the game. cause fuck it, you waited for the game come out and if the afuckalypse then you won't really have another time to fucking play it now will ya?

AIZA TORRES

You were becoming quite frustrated and worried. Your friends weren't explaining anything at all, and you needed proper explanations so you wouldn't freak out and overthink-

The sound of traffic screeching to a stop dismayed your thoughts and piqued your interest- and worry.
Biting your lip, you nervously glanced out to the road seven stories below. Your eyes widened in confusion and horror.

Black tendrils began to seep from the earth, breaking away at the blacktop and decorating the roads in complex cracks.
They seemed to be wandering aimlessly, waggling and twisting until they latched onto something.. That being a car.
The sable wrapped around the vehicle and began to dragging it down, the owner - who luckily escaped - was screaming in terror as they slowly backed up.
It was a slow hysteria, pedestrians beginning to run away from the tentacle like things, carrying their children or bags, dragging one another along.

You began to pant, your chest becoming itchy and vision becoming blurry.
No, no, no! Not time for a fucking panic attack-
You pushed away from the window and sank to the floor, slowing your breathing.
You weakly shouted your sisters name, but got no response.

She was probably passed out on the couch.. You know for a fact she's here! Which is good..
You nibbled on your lip as your friends messages began to pile up. Occasional pings filled the room, staring at the floor a bit.

> Aiza: Pray to the Meme Gods for safety

Yeah, you definitely went along with that without question. Your hands clasped together as you scrunched your eyes close, beginning to wail to the maymay gods

You then paused.
THIS IS NOT EFFECTIVE AT THE MOMENT.

You ran back over to your laptop and plopped onto the rolly chair, cocoa brown eyes flitting over the screen of her laptop.
They kept talking about the game..
The game!
You downloaded that earlier today when it first came out! All you have to do is install it and run it!

You began to tap away at the laptop, still shaking a bit.

You crinkle your nose in confusion. Connect to a player? Before anything else could happen you begin to feel a shake from the ground. This is really starting to make you wonder if the game could actually be the cause of all this. Echo did seem to have a point, the tendrils coming out from the ground were a lot like the ones shown on the box of the game.

Meanwhile, on the other end of your door your very angry but at the same time worried butler continued to knock on your door, urging you to unlock it and explain what on Earth is going on. You choose to act passive and say, "I'm fine I just wanted you home because..." You think of the cheesiest thing to say. Because Bertler believes cheesiness due to all those black and white movies he had watched. "Because I missed you while at school." You cringe as you hear your butler say a little, "oh sir.." and a tiny giddy giggle as you hear his footsteps become less and less audible.

When you consider yourself in the safe zone you quickly go back to your MacBook and start typing away on a new document.

Hypothesis: The game is causing what seems to be an apocalypse even though it is generally impossible for such thing to happen.

You give a small nod to yourself before looking back into your game. Who should you connect with?

It seemed the boys were going nuts over what just happened. And you can't blame them. You rub your eyes to ensure that what you saw was what you just saw. Yep, that entire apartment complex just went to who knows where. That's definitely not normal. Well, the true question is what will your next move be?

You can't call the police. They would surely laugh at you.You can't try and get those people back. You are just a kid how the heck would you even pull that off. You highly doubt Franky would find any interest in a demon butt hole swallowing apartments left and right. You begin to question if this reality is even real.

Is it all just a dream.

One way to find out. In a swift motion, you hop onto the window seal. The dirty boys began to go nuts and eventually perch themselves upon your shoulders for moral support. Or perhaps to get first dibs on your body when your crash and make spaghetti. Your eyes avert to the ground below.

A crowded parking lot. Perfect.

Well, you've had a good run. And you were certain there was no way in hell that you were going to just soar through the sky. Why were you doing this again? Maybe you wanna face this demon butt hole head on instead of waiting for the inevitable. Or maybe something just came over you. Something... mystical of some sort. You can't explain it. All you can do is leap and hope for the best.

And you did.

And, it happens. For a few minutes, you float in the air, the ground staying exactly where it was. Then you look back up to where your floating body was headed, and...

SMACK. A black package smacks you in the face, pushing you, time, and gravity back into motion. You fall back into your bedroom, bewildered at what just happened. Did you actually just fly?

You should tell your friends.

>Nora: mess around with card.
Huh, it is more difficult then you thought. You stare at the chariot dude for a while, before concluding that it did nothing and you went to the Internet's everlasting knowledge. You scrolled through several tarot card websites, and found some nonsensical stuff about victory and using your will blah blah blah. Is this some how related to me? It's slightly confusing, but you keep an eye out on the Chatterbox memo, just in case EK says something more useful.
After spending a good ten minutes with the card, you may have resorted to want to tear it or something so it will activate. The paper is thin, plastic coated, probably. You turn to the chat client once more, and type out something while you hold the card, glancing at it every so often.

Okay, screw it, rip the card. You give it one last look of disappointment before tearing it through the middle, then again, and again, until it turned into just shreds of paper.
You turn to your laptop, checking in on the Darkness game from your perspective on the screen.

The pieces of the torn up card float into the air, and swirl into a glowing mass in the air. After a blinding flash, Before you on the ground lies a chariot from Rome, though its missing its wheels. Next to it, is a stack of wheels. Before you can process this, a glowing figure that ses to be blurry floats next to you, which you presume to be your Spirit. And after all that, the ground begins to shake even more. The grounds cracking open for the creature once again- But this time it's after you.

>Nora: probably panic and run.

See, the key word here, is probably.
Wait...nevermind, doing something other then that would be stupid. You snatch your laptop, not even sure as to what the hell is going on, and started running.

You are convinced now, that this is the game. There is no way that this is reality.
Is the price though, your life? Also another concerning thought is that, you have no where to run! Shit, was that your spirit that you left back there too? By now, you flung yourself out of the kitchen to the outside, deeply regretted it, and felt like she was being chased by something awful. You have nothing to fight with, too, and just merely hope your host player has a fix for this situation. You waste a precious minute opening up your laptop, and tried to type out a call for help.

>Remy: Release card. Also, connect to Nora as client.

A medium-sized piece of cardstock shatters your bedroom window as it spin-flies into your room, narrowly missing your arms and hands. It lands next to you face down.
Noivian Noivian pricketteer pricketteer

This can't be right.

You quite leaped out of the window and yet you haven't fallen to your death yet. In fact, you were levitating for the moment before something hit you in the face sending you back into your room. Once you landed on the carpeted floor of your room, you quickly dash to the window and look around. What in the name of the 9 circles of hell was going on!? You then turn your attention to the strange package.

It even had your name on it?

You didn't recall seeing anyone in the parking lot or even close enough to have thrown this at you? So where did it even come from. You pick up the package and inspect it. The boys seemed to have calm down and flew in resting on your bed. They seemed concerned when you attempted to fly out but were pretty happy that you didn't die. Well, you were expecting a package but usually they would come through the mail and not like this.

>Nora: go back and do...something.
What a stupid idea!
But you really have no other option but to plunge back into the craziness again, so here you go.
You sneak around the cottage, and peer your head in to the weird, shimmery scene. It still feels surreal to you, and the kitchen is illuminated by the spirit. Your spirit. You hear a loud ping from the laptop in your arm's crook, but you ignore it as you approach the roman chariot. It's hard to keep your balance with all the shaking, but you stumble forwards into the kitchen, meeting eyes with the roman. What now? You examine him curiously, then go forwards to touch him. If that didn't do anything, maybe hand him the wheels?
