Something foul hangs in the air of Quantico, Virginia. The Behavioral Analysis Unit, or BAU, takes over as the local authorities are left floundering on the most unique cases. While offering case analysis and victim care helps, some situations need a man on the inside. Or in this case, one man and three women. Supervisory Special Agents Derek Morgan, Jennifer Jareau and Dr. Vivian Caihong Song, as well as their Unit Chief Emily Prentiss join a job for which they possess all the mental and physical skills for. Although, all the skills in the world won't stop their hands from shaking like a rookie this time. They have had to pose as siblings, lovers, even criminals on missions before. This time seems no different, a walk in the park, until they realize they won't have to fake feelings for their new spouses... the feelings are already there. Pretending to pretend gets harder than they think.

They must take their business to the wedding altar with the agents they had daydreamed of for years, without jeopardizing the entire mission... and use all the acting skills, and breathing techniques, they'll need to solve this case.

Dr. Vivian (OC) and Emily will be played by kiwishima. Morgan and JJ will be played by biwheels.

Nothing was too early for the BAU. Even easy Saturday mornings could turn to a quick call-in at work, if a case was interesting enough. Or horrific enough.

This was seen as a positive to Derek Morgan's newly workaholic brain. His temporary promotion to Acting Unit Chief last year had stirred a few things in him. Having his own office, thanks to JJ -- he glanced at her, sipping her caffeine in his passenger seat -- and Garcia pulling the right strings should have gone to his head, added some swagger to his steps maybe, but instead it humbled him. All the work Hotch put in as the head of the Behavioral Analysis Unit often had gone over his head, but not anymore. It made him cherish the BAU's work and his career even more. Gave him a bit of an overworking streak, even, something the others made a point to mock as often as possible.

Although this new habit of being all work, no play, may or may not be a result of a few on the team leaving unprompted as well. Notably, a certain a doctor from the International Division coming to help on a case, working her way into his team… only to go on maternity leave. Unprompted. With no husband or boyfriend mentioned beforehand, either. Team members had been moving in and out of the BAU for the past 6 months, but this one stung the most. If there was one thing Derek Morgan prided himself on it was to know his team members and show leadership in this sense. He was the go-to guy, both in and out of the office. Not to be told such a main aspect of a team member's life got to his ego like nothing else. Ah well, that boat sunk long ago, he thought. Vivian felt like old news in the office, with everyone moving departments lately.

His usual suave charisma and that witty mouth of his had gone stale this summer, and he barely made time to hit the gym and grab coffee with friends before going straight back into work. This is why when Hotch called for an emergency meeting on a new case this morning, he was already dressed and ready to get some more hours in. JJ, on the other hand, called him to beg for a ride as she had been spending the day with her niece on the other side of town. His side of town, as it was.

His car's tires hit the road at a steady pace, as JJ texted Hotch for further information. "He is absolutely refusing to give any intel," she huffed.

"Must be a private deal," Morgan replied. He gave a slight grin her way. "I know you love to be on top of everything hours in advance. Not this time, JJ. Just wait and see like the rest of us."

"That's fair," she muttered. She didn't seem convinced, or amused for that matter.

"Maybe Reid would know more," he added, but it seemed to be equally unhelpful if only by the strained look JJ gave him. He knew he was lucky she was too tired to get mad at him for his insensitivity on that one. He shrugged uselessly, and the car fell into easy silence once he flipped the radio on. He was not one to put his nose in others' love affairs, especially JJ and Reid's recent mess of a breakup. Well, it had been more of a not-breakup this time. Simply acknowledging JJ wasn't on the same page as Reid anymore. Breaking both their hearts in the process. Reid had laughed they were back to being besties last week but this now felt too forced to be true. Maybe they needed a few months to buffer it all back to normal... Morgan may be a flirt, but romance was not his forte; what he had in the past were flings at the most, something his exes would strongly agree. Exes didn't feel right either. It was always too complicated with his job sending him off all over the country, and any risks on a job could result in a girlfriend getting hurt... a stressor he couldn't handle on top of his typical stressful life. So he lead a bachelor life, to his family's dismay. Either way, he did not have the experience nor the wisdom to give any advice or choose on any method of comfort for JJ's recent affliction. He knew a hug wouldn't be welcomed either once they'll get out of the car. As though proving his point, JJ put in earphones. Probably to listen to podcasts, or recordings of past cases, but he knew it was also a tool to effectively cut any further remark from reaching her. Fair enough, he thought to himself. He would have attempted another embarassing comment if she hadn't.

It also effortlessly reaffirmed how dedicated she was to the case. No matter how work-obsessed he was becoming, he fully knew he would never be on her level at the BAU. She was such a new recruit to this day, but had climbed the ranks ferociously. He was no match for that. At the very least they could bond over it later. Comfortable silence fell between them, interrupted only by the familiar noises of the neighborhoods. He swerved left and rode the Quantico streets to their workplace, blinking sleep away as he watched the sun lazily rise up in the sky.
