Family Disappointment
Another day, another dollar at the BAU in Quantico, Virginia. The agents had long since gathered for the day, some eager (and others not so much) to begin another day.
The former group, those unexcited, included Evangeline Rossi. She was tired, sore, and all she wanted was to go back to sleep.
Luckily, she had been granted a reprieve from her paperwork in the form of her godfather, Aaron Hotchner, coming to summon her for another meeting.
Standing, she put a hand under her swollen abdomen and pushed herself up, denying assistance when it was offered.
Accompanying him to the meeting room, she blushed upon realizing that she was the last one there.
"Eh,sorry everyone. I know, I'm slow" she chuckled, scratching the back of her head as she sat in her usual spot, between her father and her sister.
"Hopefully this will be a local case" she joked to her elder, adopted sibling. "I don't think I can handle Luciel telling me to take maternity leave again if we have to fly."
She loved her husband, who she'd married 2 years prior at the age of 24 and him 26, but he could be a bit overbearing. Damn her for marrying a doctor.
Her father chuckled. "As much as I'd like to side with you, mi Bella ragazza, I'm afraid he's right. If I had any control over you anymore, I'd be making you stay behind." He kissed her temple.
"Unfortunately not" Garcia said, smiling slightly. "You'll be traveling to Vermont today. A string of murders involving hits to the back of the head with what seems to be a shovel. Victims are tall females between the ages of 20 and 30, with brown and black hair, and brown and green eyes."
Evangeline sighed and looked over the file that had been presented to her, mumbling to her sister quietly. "Did you have morning sickness this late in your pregnancy?" She asked. "Or is this a sign of something?"
She took a sip of the water she'd brought with her, resting her head in her hand and yawning. It was evident, now, that her first pregnancy had taken a lot out of her.
"And by string" Evangeline said, rubbing her stomach and wincing at a particularly hard kick, swearing under her breath at the quick jolt of pain. "You mean two. I thought we only got involved when there were three murders?" She asked, rubbing her temples
"Yes, but" she sighed. "Lucy, care to explain? You and I talked about this earlier."
