Code Lyoko | Monsters & Locations

Cidak Academy

Cidak is made up of various buildings, most of them connected to one another, others not. These buildings include the Dormitory Building, the Science Building, the Cafeteria, the Administrative Building, and various other locations. Cidak also has a Park, a Track and a Recreation Room (opened in Wreck Room) for the students in their free time.

Cidak is a college, and therefore, the majority the students live there, though a number of local students commute to it as if it were a normal school. Classes occur 6 days a week, and there are no classes on holidays, Sundays, or Saturday Afternoons. Students are allowed to leave the grounds with permission.

The school is also racially and culturally diverse, containing many people who are African-American or those of Japanese, Chinese, German, Turkish, Italian, and Indian origin. The school hosts runs a number of clubs, ranging from the film club, photo club, and the drama club. Cidak also has its own paper, dubbed the Cidak News.

Ice Sector

The Ice Sector is made up of two major parts. The first part is the surface, composed of glaciers connected by narrow paths and large lakes of icy water. Monsters cannot swim, so the icy waters will destroy them if they fall into it. Most of the Towers are based on the surface. The second part of the Sector is below the surface; tunnels connect the two areas.

Desert Sector

Desert Sector is the one with the most dangerous monster attacks; most of the creatures can get around easily here. The Desert is made out of a collection of dry, rocky plateaus. There is very little greenery, the only trees being scattered here and there. Here, the game can create sandstorms, break apart the plateaus, and even tilt them at 90° angles to immobilize the warriors. The Desert is made up of two levels: the lower and higher levels. The higher level's plateaus are very large, and most towers in the sector can be found here. The lower level's plateaus are very small, and small sharp rocks are littered.

Forrest Sector

The Forest Sector is mostly a complex series of paths intertwining between thousands of trees, but raised high above the sky. Large open areas are not as common as those in the Desert and Ice Sectors. It also has a lot of hollow tree trunks which connects areas of the Forest Sector and has often saved the lives of the warriors.

Mantas

Mantas, or Flying Mantas, are the strongest, flight-type monsters. Can be found only in the Ice Sector.

250

Kolossus

Kolossus is the largest and most powerful monster. It has only appeared in the Ice Sector and remains the sector's overseer.

250

Megatank

Megatanks are large, ball-like monsters, possibly the only monster not based on a living creature. Megatanks are arguably the strongest monsters because of its shell, which can't take damage even from another Megatank.

250

Kankrelats

Despite their apparent weakness, the Kankrelats are tricky opponents in battle, largely due to their trademark technique of charging lasers in unison and firing en masse at a warrior, producing a barrage of shots, difficult to dodge, and often dealing enough damage to devirtualize the warrior should every shot connect.

250

Tarantula

Tarantulas are equipped with laser cannons on the tips of their front legs that can shoot lasers causing 20 points of damage. Unlike other monsters, they do not need to charge their lasers before-hand. They can, however, charge their lasers for shots that cause 50 points of damage per hit. The Tarantula's twin laser cannon set-up allows it to fire from each leg in succession, creating a near-continuous stream of laser-fire and allotting it a near 180 degree field of fire. However, it can only fight effectively while resting on its hind legs, limiting its movement in battle and effectively keeping it from escaping. It can run on its hind legs to take long distance shots, though it can only fire at a maximum 4 times before falling back onto all fours. Compared to other monsters, they can run fairly fast due to their long legs, but cannot balance well nor climb due to the cannons on the tips of their legs, limiting their movement to relatively flat surfaces.

Hornet

Hornets resemble a legless mosquito/wasp with five pairs of thin wings adorned with digital-like veins. They can fly at speeds comparable to the Vehicles. Hornets usually travel in swarms of three or five with each swarm consisting of a leader and two to four wingmates, though they have been shown to travel in larger groups.
