I would crawl belly deep through hell
It was a normal day. Kids went to school, the Adults left for work at their jobs scattered across the city. The sun came up and hung out in the sky without a single cloud to block it. The city of Los Angles was as busy as usual, traffic backed up on the Santa Ana Freeway as always. The streets were abuzz with shop owners opening their store fronts ready for a new day. The top headlines were campaigns for presidential candidates, the Californian drought, and wars in the middle east. The day went on without a bother. That was, until 12:03 P.M. Pacific Time. At that exact moment, disaster would strike, and leave thousands dead.
The San Andreas Fault is a continental transform fault that extends roughly 810 miles through California. It forms the tectonic boundary between the Pacific plate and the North American plate, and its motion is right-lateralstrike-slip (horizontal). The fault divides into three segments, each with different characteristics and a different degree of earthquake risk, the most significant being the southern segment, which passes within about 35 miles of Los Angeles. This segment has been titled the SAF. The 'Big One' is a hypothetical earthquake of magnitude 8 or greater that is expected to happen along the SAF. Such a quake will produce devastation to human civilization within about 50-100 miles of the SAF quake zone, especially in urban areas like Palm Springs, Los Angeles and San Francisco. The 1906 San Francisco quake (mag 7.8) and the 1857 Ft. Tejon quake (mag 7.9) took place in northern and central California, respectively, and both were 'Big Ones'.
At 12:03 P.M. on 4/22/15 The Big One struck, and It was much bigger then the Scientists predicted.Fifteen minutes after the two minute quake 2,000 deaths, 50,000 injuries and $200 billion in damage to the Los Angeles area happened. That was only the first fifteen minutes. What would ensue would be hellish land of death, crime, destruction and anarchy.
The disaster wouldn't end there. The residents would have to further fear criminals, debris...and tsunamis.
Howdy howdy. I was just here, wondering if anyone would be intrested in an earthquake Roleplay. The story was (Obviously) based off the upcoming film San Andrea.
