[/div][/div][div class=Container][div class="scroll"] That giggle that slipped past the new workerโ€™s lips made his heart stop for a moment, his cheeks to slightly redden and his brain to stop functioning. Oh man, why the hell was he always like this? Some girl shows some little sign of being cute or something, and he would go around blushing like the absolute virgin he was. It was probably painfully obvious that he was even yet to have his first kiss let alone a first girlfriend. Okay, no. Concentrate! Concentrate! Concentrate! What had Kai just said?

Min-Joonโ€™s eyes darted over to his co-worker who was getting absolutely drenched as she struggled against the rain, before looking back at Kai with a small forced smile. โ€œAll the time,โ€ he said in a soft voice, nodding along before turning his attention back to the coffee machine that he had been trying to clean to perfection. Even if he left the tiniest little smudge, he knew that Jae would be down his throat for it. And if it was any other employee who left it dirty, it would still be Min-Joonโ€™s ass getting in trouble because apparently everything was the poor boyโ€™s fault ever since Jae started working here.

He decided to pay particular attention to the coffee machine while the boss and the storm known as Minnie battled it out together, ensuring that both of them were inside once more, safe and sound. It was at Jaeโ€™s announcement, however, that Min-Joon almost had a heart attack. The frothing cup which he had been cleaning in his hands slipped from his grasp and hit against the countertop, the metal object clanging loudly. With quick hands, Min-Joon quickly took hold of the cup before placing it down gently on the countertop. Jaeโ€™s statement of having to stay behind until the weather died down wasnโ€™t what he wanted to hear. In fact, it was the absolute opposite of what he wanted to hear.

Min-Joon had it all planned out. He was meant to go home, prepare dinner for him and his Umma (as she had been so busy with work and feeling a bit under the weather), take a shower, study for about an hour before heading off to the streets of Itaewon and doing some busking. Well, the weather wasnโ€™t ideal for busking. But he still knew areas around Itaewon that were sheltered and many people would still venture to for dinner or work. It was going to be the perfect night. Hypothetically. But now, all those plans were gone as his manager stated that they would be staying behind.

Did they really have to stay behind?

โ€œJโ€ฆJae-ssiโ€ Min-Joon began, his voice small and fragile. He knew that he was going to get hounded for even asking such a question that he had in his mind. The boy began to approach his manager, feeling an unusual sense of confidence in the pit of his stomachโ€ฆ which was slowly getting washed away by the sea of nerves. Once he was before his manager, Min-Joon held his hands in front of himself in a respectful manner. โ€œJae-ssiโ€ฆ I really need to go homeโ€ฆ I uhโ€ฆ I uhโ€ฆ. Have someโ€ฆ important things that need to be doneโ€ฆ uhโ€ฆ Iโ€™llโ€ฆ Iโ€™ll be fine walking.โ€ Oh, God. He was going to have a heart attack. He gave his boss a respectful bow before looking back up at him. โ€œI swearโ€ฆ Iโ€™ll be fine.โ€

[/div] [div class=text][div class=scroll]Since Kai had started at Cloud Nine, she'd noticed that things didn't always seem to go as planned. Take Minnie practically flying out into this storm, for example. The girl was nuts, but she was funny and quirky and Kai liked that about her. Even if things sometimes got a little wild at the cafe because of her, it was entertaining. It kept the job from getting boring and she wasn't about to complain about that. As Min-Joon confirmed that Minnie was, in fact, this crazy all of the time, Kai shook her head in amusement and laughed. "Damn," she mumbled, trying to conceal the smirk on her lips as she watched Jae and Minnie return to the cafe. Within moments, the front doors were closed and locked once more, leaving the inside of the Cloud Nine to settle back into its peaceful quiet. Kai's eyes flickered over its interior, noting the menus and napkins that had fallen from tables and now lay on the ground. Maybe she should clean those up... Before the new girl could entertain that thought for long, however, Jae's voice rang out, announcing that they would be staying here until the weather calmed. The news had Kai pausing. "Wait, what?" They couldn't go home? But she'd been dying to binge watch her new TV show on Netflix when she got back after work. Screw the essay that was due in three days; Netflix was more important. Kai was effectively broken from her train of thought when the sound of metal clattering against the countertop startled her, making her jump. Turning around quickly, she realized it was only Joonie. Bless his clumsy little soul. Sighing, the brunette decided to let him finish cleaning the coffee machine while she began to pick up fallen menus and napkins in an attempt to tidy the rest of the cafe. She wanted to say something about going home now, but she wasn't sure if she should. She was new, after all. What if Jae automatically disliked her because she couldn't just follow his orders without question? And then, as if reading her mind, Min-Joon spoke up for himself, assuring their manager that he would be fine to walk home despite the raging weather outside. Kai paused her cleaning to take a few steps close to the young men, a small smile growing on her lips. "Me, too, actually. I have, uh, a really important essay I need to finish tonight. Min-Joon and I can totally walk home together. We'll be fine out there. It's not like it's that bad of a storm," Kai tried to reason, grinning slightly as she looked between Min-Joon and Jae.[/div][/div][/div][/div][/div]
