vices : a perfectionist at his core, he works long hours in order to provide the best possible care for those in need, but in doing so, he neglects his own health and mental wellbeing, often punishing himself for 'poor' results. it doesn't take a genius to see that he is overly critical of himself and tends to have self-destructive habits, especially when involving his personal happiness. this can make relationships difficult for him to navigate as he is somewhat selfish and focuses on the big picture rather than the little things, causing him to seem like he doesn't appreciate people properly. he doesn't enjoy confrontation either and is known to walk off if he feels too frustrated by a situation.

MAGIC.
magic information : he cannot breathe life into those who have passed, but he has the ability to heal terrible injuries and bring people back from the doorsteps of death. his healing magic simply gives him the ability to heal, whether it is using his magic directly or channeling it into potions or salves, he is very effective with this. he is able to help treat diseases, broken bones, and even repair failing organs. the other portion of his magic is a lot stricter and can be seen as toying with the strings of fate. if someone is beyond simple healing, he is able to pull them back from the jaws of death and back into a place of safety. this is very tedious as it is a highly difficult and involved type of magic. in that same breath, he is also able to push someone quite healthy to the brink, keeping them simply teetering from death, but ultimately allowing them to cross over. while he would never do this, it still is something he is capable of doing if he chooses.

what are his opinions on humans? // he surprisingly doesn't dislike them and often gives them medical care for a small price as humans in lower-income areas cannot afford high-quality witch medical care. he finds them to be delicate yet hardy as he knows they can handle a lot, from being feeders to volunteering to be part of hunts.

does he get along with the other species? // basil personally gets along with all the species because he services everyone. while he is from house steros, his talents with medicine and his magic often take him over to the other houses to help with injury or illness.

is he part of a coven? // yes he is, he is part of the coven silver light. it is a coven that primarily focuses on healing/life magic, but they are known to allow other types of magic within the coven as long as they are able to heal or help the injured.

who does his coven worship? // his coven worships the goddess [name here]. she is the goddess of life and health. she has allowed the witches to harness the magic to manipulate life and use it to help those in need. her powers and abilities were never used for evil as she found it to be putting a horrible stain on such a blessed ability, which has caused those within her covens to take a similar stance on the matter.

what does he think about other covens? // he has no personal issues with covens, but he can disapprove of them if they cause problems for others. he has little patience for covens that like to cause trouble.

what does he think about working with other houses? // it's just a normal workday for him.

what does he think about the murders? // basil is quite distraught by the murders. a lot of the victims are ones he has treated in the past and even knew from a young age. it pains him to be the one to look over the victims and see what he can learn from their injuries.

At first, she couldn't care less. They weren't her problem. However, since they have been made her problem, she wants to stop them as soon as possible so she can get back to her life.

Of course she does. That was what they were made to survive on. Nothing can top fresh blood on an empty stomach.

Clementine is not great at group tasks, so she is happy to put off work on the others if she can.

Background.

Clementine Kensington is the fourth and final child of Alphonse and Theodora Kensington. She was proceeded by two brothers and a sister, her arrival balancing the scales. The Kensington family was and remains to be, a prominent family in House Belmoore, so Clementine was brought up with anything she could ever want or need.

Clementine was always decisive, knowing exactly what she wants and doing everything in her power to get it— even as a child. Her parents never really argued anyway. She was the youngest, there was no reason to push her as she would not be inheriting any family responsibilities when the time came. Their only requirements were that she conducts herself in a manner befitting a Kensington, which was not an easy task. She always did manage to make a spectacle of herself, albeit usually unintentionally. Stiff society rules made her squirm.

The moment she was old enough to get out from under her parent's direction, she did. Clementine had no real complaints about her childhood, she just wanted to follow the freedom she craved. Of course, she never truly moved out— that would mean having to fully support herself, which was far too much responsibility than she cared for. Instead, she bopped around doing this and that, but always returning home. It could be days or weeks later, but she always made it back. Where else was she going to have access to good feeders?

With decades of partying, roaming, and snap decisions, there were bound to be some hiccups. And hiccups there were. Most were very easily smoothed over with her parent's intervention, keeping the family's reputation intact. There were a couple that were not so easily fixed.

Her most recent offense was her worst. Clementine has always been impulsive, that much is clear, but there was even less thought this time. Actually, there were no thoughts at all besides the pull of raw curiosity. While she was using one of her family's feeders, it occurred to her that she had never seen a human be turned into a vampire. So, she did just that. Sitting back, she watched the venom and her blood take effect on the girl.

Needless to say, nobody was happy about the transformation. House Belmoore reprimanded her for turning a human without permission and fined her family (not that they couldn't afford it), her family was outraged over the blow to their reputation and the loss of a good feeder, and most of all, the feeder she turned was livid. Clementine has always seen vampirism as a gift. It came with powers, a long lifespan, and a higher social status, but to the human, she now had to become the very thing that made her life miserable. She vowed to kill Clementine if she ever laid eyes on her again.

As a result of all of this, Clementine has been forced by her family to help investigate these murders that have been happening. They hope she can actually grow up and do some good for once. She's not so happy about it, but with the threat of being cut off, she has no other choice.

-Nagging: Maybe it’s because she is a mom and before that an older sister, but Paloma does tend to be a bit prodding when it comes to getting things done. Whether it is unwelcome reminders or getting frustrated when things aren’t done right away, she can be a bit overbearing.
-Secretive: Paloma keeps most things close to her chest. Though her intentions are often good, it doesn’t change the fact that she withholds information. Her worst offense in this department is she still has not told her ex-husband that Nela exists.
-Tunnel Vision: When something captures Paloma’s focus, it’s very difficult for her to prioritize anything that is not what is pulling her attention.

Virtues.
-Laid Back: Paloma is the type to roll with the punches. Unexpected changes rarely stress her out. Plans are always loose and flexible and she rarely minds letting someone else take the lead.
-Protective: While her protective nature is mostly dedicated to her daughter, Nela, she is protective over all the people she cares for. She would do anything to make sure they are safe and sound, even if it is at her own risk.
-Gentle: Paloma is soft-hearted and light-handed. While she is physically gentle when interacting with the world around her, she is emotionally gentle. She is soft-spoken, even choosing her words carefully.

Magic.
Paloma is a nature witch, with most of her talent in growing and caring for plants. She can bring plants back from the brink of death (though she cannot revive a plant that has fully died). Everything she grows flourishes, even if they are not native to her garden. She can make plants grow at will, often leaving footprints of flowers or grass when she walks barefoot (she can simply just touch the soil with her hands as well). However, she struggles with animals. Naturally, she has an easier time with them than say a human would, but she has no special ability when it comes to anything sentient. She is deeply connected with the natural world and can often predict the seasons and even weather based on the sun, moon, and stars. Despite this, she cannot influence it in any way.

Humans. Do they use human blood or other parts for their magic, potions, brews, or charms?
She does not collect them herself, but if she is asked to brew a potion for a customer that requires human materials, she does require that the customer provide the required component.

What is their opinion on humans?
Paloma has a sense of respect for humans as she does for all life. They are a very important part of each group’s lives. However, that does not mean she has forgotten the atrocities they had committed against her kind. She grew up hearing the stories of the trials and many great witches being hunted and consumed by flames. Of course, that was a long time ago. She has had quite a few human customers come to her for herbal remedies and she is more than happy to help them. She isn't close to any humans, but, to be fair, she is not close to many people in general.

Do they get along with the other species?
In general, yes. She is open to giving everyone a chance. Paloma doesn’t have much of an opinion on vampires. As long as they treat her well, she will do the same for them. However, she is a bit wary of werewolves. Mostly it is because their full moon transformations have a risk of interfering with her safety as she has some rituals she performs under the full moon.

What are their thoughts on the murders?
Paloma is certainly concerned. With how few humans there are, whoever is committing these murders are threatening a very delicate balance their world relies on.

Are they part of a coven?
She grew up in a coven but left it when she relocated. However, she feels a bit lost and disconnected without one.

What/Who does their coven worship?
Paloma is no longer a part of a coven, but she carries on the practices she grew up with. Of course, there is a great reverence for Agnes Darkmore but she doesn’t specifically worship any deities. Instead, she dedicates herself to nature. She talks to the sun, the moon, and the stars.

What do they think about other covens?
Deep down, Paloma is jealous of them. She misses the connection of a coven. She hopes to be invited into another one someday but does not actively seek it out. She chose to leave, so she must bear the consequences.

How do they feel about working with Houses outside of the witches?
She sees no issue with it. At the end of the day, they all have a common goal and working together will benefit everyone.

Background.

Paloma is the second oldest of six children born to Miguel and Anita Aguilar. She was raised in a small coven that was located in the Argentinian countryside. The Aguilars all possessed nature-related magic and owned a farm that provided food for their coven. It was an idyllic childhood, making daisy chains and braiding flowers into her sisters’ hair.

Paloma could often be found amongst the crops and in the garden whispering to the plants while their leaves and vines curled around her fingers with affection. Most other times, she could be found helping her abuelita with her potions. Whether it was chopping, stirring, or bottling, Paloma always had a task. She was never allowed to simply watch (“How do you expect to improve if you don’t try?” was what her abuelita always asked).

She was right, of course.

Over time, Paloma’s skills developed to the point where she could take over some of the brewing responsibilities (her abuelita would never fully let go of the reins completely).

It was when Paloma was twenty when her life turned in a direction she could have never predicted. She had fallen in love with a boy. Félix Molina was another member of her coven. He was tall, sweet, and just as in love with her as she was with him. Despite only having been together for a few months, the pair married. However, once the honeymoon phase faded, she realized she had made a mistake.

Félix was a good man, he never intentionally treated her poorly. They just were not a good fit and were too young and naive to realize it beforehand. However, in their coven, marriage was important. They were not ended unless one partner dies or if there were safety concerns for one or both partners. However, as the years dragged on, Paloma grew miserable. They tried to make it work so many times and in so many different ways but it never did. So, when Paloma just couldn’t take it anymore, she left. She knew this would mean leaving everything she knew behind. Luckily, she had someone she could go to, her Tía Alma.

England wasn’t necessarily the place she would have chosen to go, but that was where her aunt lived, so off she went.

She had only been there for three weeks when she realized she was pregnant. Paloma agonized over whether to go home or continue pursuing her life. Eventually she realized that going home would put her back in the same position she was before and that would not be fair to her unborn child. Granted, it isn’t fair to Félix to keep his child from him, but what he does not know can not hurt him.

Marianela, or just Nela for short, is Paloma’s entire world. Without the protection and community of a coven, Paloma is incredibly protective of her daughter. Tía Alma is the only one she trusts to look after her while she works. When meeting people, she keeps Nela a secret until she is sure they are trustworthy enough for her liking.

Her apothecary, El Boticario Luna Llena, opened a year after Nela was born. The idea grew from what was just a solution having excess from her garden. Realizing she could make money from selling potion ingredients and even brewing potions as special orders from customers, Paloma jumped at the opportunity.

Four years have passed since then and she now lives in a small cottage at the edge of a forest with her five year old and aunt. Her greenhouse is overflowing and her garden takes up a significant portion of her, albeit small, property.

These murders have disrupted the peaceful life she has built for herself, which makes Paloma all the more eager to restore things to the way they should be.

-Secretive: Paloma keeps most things close to her chest. Though her intentions are often good, it doesn’t change the fact that she withholds information. Her worst offense in this department is she still has not told her ex husband that Nela exists.
-Tunnel Vision: When something captures Paloma’s focus, it’s very difficult for her to prioritize anything that is not what is pulling her attention.

-Laid Back: Paloma is the type to roll with the punches. Unexpected changes rarely stress her out. Plans are always loose and flexible and she rarely minds letting someone else take the lead.

What is their opinion on humans? Paloma has a sense of respect for humans as she does for all life. They are a very important part of each group’s lives. However, that does not mean she has forgotten the atrocities they had committed against her kind. She grew up hearing the stories of the trials and many great witches being hunted and consumed by flames. Of course, that was a long time ago. She has had quite a few human customers come to her for herbal remedies and she is more than happy to help them. She isn't close to any humans, but, to be fair, she is not close to many people in general
Do they get along with the other species? In general, yes. She is open to giving everyone a chance. Paloma doesn’t have much of an opinion on vampires. As long as they treat her well, she will do the same for them. However, she is a bit wary of werewolves. Mostly it is because their full moon transformations have a risk of interfering with her safety as she has some rituals she performs under the full moon.
What are their thoughts on the murders? Paloma is certainly concerned. With how few humans there are, whoever is committing these murders are threatening a very delicate balance their world relies on.
Are they part of a coven? She grew up in a coven but left it when she relocated. However, she feels a bit lost and disconnected without one.
What/Who does their coven worship? Paloma is no longer a part of a coven, but she carries on the practices she grew up with. Of course, there is a great reverence for Agnes Darkmore but she doesn’t specifically worship any deities. Instead, she dedicates herself to nature. She talks to the sun, the moon, and the stars.
What do they think about other covens? Deep down, Paloma is jealous of them. She misses the connection of a coven. She hopes to be invited into another one someday but does not actively seek it out. She chose to leave, so she must bear the consequences.
How do they feel about working with Houses outside of the witches? She sees no issue with it. At the end of the day, they all have a common goal and working together will benefit everyone.

Background.

Paloma is the second oldest of six children born to Miguel and Anita Aguilar. She was raised in a small coven that was located in the Argentinian countryside. The Aguilars all possessed nature-related magic and owned a farm that provided food for their coven. It was an idyllic childhood, making daisy chains and braiding flowers into her sisters’ hair.

Paloma could often be found amongst the crops and in the garden whispering to the plants while their leaves and vines curled around her fingers with affection. Most other times, she could be found helping her abuelita with her potions. Whether it was chopping, stirring, or bottling, Paloma always had a task. She was never allowed to simply watch (“How do you expect to improve if you don’t try?” was what her abuelita always asked).

She was right, of course.

Over time, Paloma’s skills developed to the point where she could take over some of the brewing responsibilities (her abuelita would never fully let go of the reins completely).

It was when Paloma was twenty when her life turned in a direction she could have never predicted. She had fallen in love with a boy. Félix Molina was another member of her coven. He was tall, sweet, and just as in love with her as she was with him. Despite only having been together for a few months, the pair married. However, once the honeymoon phase faded, she realized she had made a mistake.

Félix was a good man, he never intentionally treated her poorly. They just were not a good fit and were too young and naive to realize it beforehand. However, in their coven, marriage was important. They were not ended unless one partner dies or if there were safety concerns for one or both partners. However, as the years dragged on, Paloma grew miserable. They tried to make it work so many times and in so many different ways but it never did. So, when Paloma just couldn’t take it anymore, she left. She knew this would mean leaving everything she knew behind. Luckily, she had someone she could go to, her Tía Alma.

England wasn’t necessarily the place she would have chosen to go, but that was where her aunt lived, so off she went.

She had only been there for three weeks when she realized she was pregnant. Paloma agonized over whether to go home or continue pursuing her life. Eventually she realized that going home would put her back in the same position she was before and that would not be fair to her unborn child. Granted, it isn’t fair to Félix to keep his child from him, but what he does not know can not hurt him.

Marianela, or just Nela for short, is Paloma’s entire world. Without the protection and community of a coven, Paloma is incredibly protective of her daughter. Tía Alma is the only one she trusts to look after her while she works. When meeting people, she keeps Nela a secret until she is sure they are trustworthy enough for her liking.

Her apothecary, El Boticario Luna Llena, opened a year after Nela was born. The idea grew from what was just a solution having excess from her garden. Realizing she could make money from selling potion ingredients and even brewing potions as special orders from customers, Paloma jumped at the opportunity.

Four years have passed since then and she now lives in a small cottage at the edge of a forest with her five year old and aunt. Her greenhouse is overflowing and her garden takes up a significant portion of her, albeit small, property.

These murders have disrupted the peaceful life she has built for herself, which makes Paloma all the more eager to restore things to the way they should be.

is he interested in forming a bond? // he is both interested and scared of forming a bond. his grandmother had formed a bond and spoke highly of it, but his grandfather did not particularly enjoy it. silas has a craving for that sort of intimate intertwining of his soul with another, but he is scared that his partner may regret it later on down the road. because of this, he keeps this desire to himself and simply hopes that he will someday experience that form of connection before death.

what is his transformation like? // sometimes his transformation can be uncomfortable since he goes through periods of time where he is primarily in his 'human' form due to his work. this can cause him to be irritable and want to be alone after he has transformed, but in general, it isn't a bad experience for him as he has been practicing it since he was a child.

what is his opinion of humans? // he is rather fascinated by them. they are such fragile creatures and seem to need a lot of care and attention in order to not die, which is the opposite of all the other non-humans. he finds their desire to worship non-humans and pledge their service quite peculiar but it does interest him all the same. that being said, because of the history between werewolves and humans, he doesn't frequently interact with them as he doesn't want problems to arise.

what does he think about bonds? // he finds them to be incredibly thrilling and romantic. it is the most intimate bond anyone can have, and frankly, it's something that even the other species cannot compare to. because of this he often admires those who have positive bonds and talk about them within the two houses.

how does he feel about working with the other houses? // outside of bloodrose, he is a little uncomfortable working with the other houses as tensions are particularly high due to the killings. he doesn't really have any reason to be against them (outside of conflicts in the past), so he tries his best to be civil and helpful.

what does he think about the murders? // it's appalling to him as he is someone who strictly follows the rules when regarding humans and finds the murders to not only be wasteful but quite cruel. he really doesn't know who is doing it but it makes his skin crawl. he has found more than one mangled human on dawnfall land and it always makes him bristle and feel very uneasy like the murders won't stop until another war breaks out.

as a wolf, rio is slightly smaller than the average male wolf, though what he lacks in size he makes up for in speed; he’s known for being incredibly quick and nimble on his feet. his coat is long and quite fluffy, mostly black in color with patches of gray mixed in throughout. the most notable feature about his wolf is his eyes; a unique, icy yellow-blue-gray that stands out amidst the dark colors. to see wolf form, click x, x and x

the only word that comes to mind when asked to describe rio’s personality is contradiction. slightly reckless yet level-headed, a little impulsive yet incredibly resourceful, charming yet messy, blunt yet incredibly kind. none of it makes sense, not to anyone. he's an enigma. it's almost as if he possesses a personality on-off switch, able to turn off the "need for speed" side of his personality and turn on the side that is ready to offer intelligent life advice to those that didn't really ask.

to literally no one's surprise, he's quite the people person and is usually surrounded by a crowd, especially kids, wherever he goes. maybe it's some sort of aura he exudes, or maybe it's because he's actually genuinely kind to people. no one will really know, but regardless, everyone seems to be drawn towards him and rio loves it. he loves attention and always enjoys making new friends and acquaintances. plus, being nice to people can get one certain helpful and important contacts and connections, something that's especially important in his world.

though never one to flaunt or posture, rio is absolutely brilliant. he possesses a razor sharp mind and has an uncanny ability to think fast and think smartly, getting himself (and others) out of bad situations, situations that most likely would have caused shit to hit the fan. both resourcefulness and problem solving come naturally to him, allowing him to come up with helpful solutions that can resolve any issues one might have.

never one to jump to conclusions or take sides, and always wanting to get both sides of the story before offering up any of his trademarked advice, he's the go to mediator of the pack and his friends. an ever calming presence, he's often viewed as a rock or an anchor, a person others can go to when they need to be grounded or when they need help. loyal to a fault, he would rather die than do anything to hurt or betray anyone.

occasionally, people can take advantage of his willingness to help and walk all over him, causing rio to have to put his foot down and say no. though he says no to his own fair share of things, saying no to helping people is especially hard for him to do. he helps people resolve problems because he wants to and is good at it, not because he has to, so when they just use him, it hurts. he doesn't let himself dwell on the hurt for very long, forcing his mind to move on to other, more important things at hand.

history









the kanha family is one who has been a mainstay in house bloodrose since its creation. never straying far, they remained steadfast in their loyalty to dolphus, staying by his side through the many hardships the pack faced. several generations later, the youngest of the kanha's was born.

shortly after his birth, it became obvious to most that rio was different, the outlier of his family. unlike his brothers, who spent most of their infancy screaming, crying and being fussy all around, rio hardly made a sound. he rarely cried, was content being left alone and didn’t demand attention like they did. as river, redd and ram grew older, they started showing wolfish traits; the living room became host to brutal wrestling matches that shook the floor, hide n seek turned into a game of predator vs prey, and after they shifted for the first time, had to be supervised by only the most seasoned pack members as complete destruction would ensue if they weren’t.

although he’d already shown how different he was from them, a lot of wolves expected rio to be just like his brothers; wrestle, play a brutal version of hide n seek, and need to be supervised by the strongest pack members. but he wasn’t. instead of wrestling, he spent hours in his room, teaching himself how to play an electric guitar an older pack mate had given him. instead of partaking in predator vs prey hide n seek, he was babysitting those younger than he. and after he shifted for this first time under heavy supervision, the only thing that came away destroyed was a young maple. his shifts were still supervised since anything could happen with a young wolf, but the shredding of a tree had been the only “violent thing” rio had done.

at fourteen, he started posting videos of him playing guitar on youtube. a few months later, a boy reached out explaining how he and two of his friends were trying to create a band and were looking for another guitarist and liked rio’s skills. on that day, omnipotent was formed. they were horrible at first. rehearsals had to be done over video call, no one knew how to interact with each other. only after they secured a practice space did they start to improve and soon, they were playing their first gig. it took several years, but their popularity grew, their following on social media approached half a million and they began selling out shows at decently sized venues.

then came his eighteenth birthday, also known as the time he’d be expected to go on his first full moon hunt. for months rio had been voicing how much he didn’t want to go on it, how much he wanted to stay at home and write songs, but that wasn’t acceptable in the kanha family. river and redd had begun to tease him about “being soft”, ruffling (or more like yanking) his hair while calling him "the gentle one" with a mixture of affection and mild mockery, and asking him whether he was “actually a werewolf” and if “he was sure he wasn’t adopted” because “kanha’s don’t act like this”. ram, however, remained silent with a frown on his face.

there was no way of getting out of the hunt and before he knew it, he was in the front of the pack on his first ever hunt. it was brutal, to say the least; brutal to take part in, brutal to witness just how much river and redd enjoyed the hunt and kill. he soon drifted back towards the back of the pack, completely spooked, ram at his side. when it ended, ram brought rio home, sat him in front of the fireplace, threw a blanket over him and together, the two brothers slept in front of the crackling flames.

the hunt continued to plague rio’s mind for well over a week, something ram seemed to notice since he seemed to never really leave his side; was next to him when he was babysitting the pups, hanging with friends, at rehearsals, etc. rio’s bandmates took a liking to ram and made him their manager, meaning he’d be by rio’s side even more.

three years after his first hunt and rio’s opinion on them hasn’t changed in the slightest. he skips out on them as often as he can, but usually ends up dragged on them by river and redd. like always though, he remains at the back of the pack with ram, focusing on keeping his head and wondering how much longer this will last.

these past few months, however, he’s had a lot more to focus on than the hunts. why? well, humans are being killed, his bandmates are humans and could very well be next. rio’s protector mode has been activated ever since he heard word of the first murder and he’s barely eaten or slept, determined to protect them (and all humans) and stopping at nothing to find out who is doing it and putting an end to it.






enjoy/participate in full moon hunts?

rio reluctantly participates in the occasional full moon hunt, but only because he is dragged on them by river and redd. however, he remains at the very back of the pack with ram and never kills.






opinion on humans?

rio loves humans. how can you not when three of your closest friends (bandmates) are human? he has trouble figuring out why some hate humans so much. yes, the ones from the church that attacked his ancestors were terrible and they got what they deserved, but the humans currently on this earth had nothing to do with that. why should they be blamed? when it comes down to it, they all bleed red.






get along with other species?

absolutely. witches especially. he finds magic and potions fascinating and wants to learn more about it all. and though he gets along with them just fine, he thinks vampires are kind of nasty. imagine having to drink blood to survive. imagine blood being the only food source. imagine missing out on the flavor-town experience known as pizza.






thoughts on murders?

it's scaring him more than he'll admit. could his best friends/bandmates be next? he wants the murders stopped as soon as possible and the murderer brought to justice. plus, hasn’t he already proven his dislike of violence and killing?






working with other houses?

has nothing against it. in fact, he thinks it’s a great idea. if the houses all work together and use each of their own unique assets and abilities, there’s a good chance they’ll find the perpetrators faster than they would if they each tried to solve it alone. the sooner the murders are stopped, the better.

lavinia is able to create, shape, and manipulate her own dreams as well as the dreams of other people. this allows her to modify current dreams, suppress them, fabricate completely new ones, influence someone within their dream, simply observe them, and even interact with nightmares and daydreams. this ability can be dangerous or helpful depending on how she uses it. for the more positive aspects, she is able to help heal emotional and mental traumas by exposing them in more positive and safe ways via dreams, helping to heal the damage done to the brain. she can also resolve reoccurring nightmares for people and help them get to sleep if they struggle with insomnia. on the negative side, she can inflict nightmares upon people, trap them within REM, create such realistic dreams/nightmares that the victim cannot differentiate reality from dreams, and can in some cases force someone to fall asleep and be immediately trapped within her dreams.

she does not need direct physical contact to do this to her victims but she does need to be able to either physically see them or have a detailed description of where they are located. she can have a difficult time manipulating multiple dreams at once, but she manages that by hopping from dream to dream and manipulating little bits and pieces before she goes to the next one. using her abilities for an extended period of time can leave her quite tired and in need of blood as it is a draining power to have. victims of her ability will have no knowledge of her influence unless they have directly asked her to enter their dreams for help. this has caused her to form a slight habit of taking peaks into people's dreams as she finds their secret worlds quite amusing.

does she have a preferred blood type? // her favorite blood types are ab+ and ab-. she had the privilege of being gifted two feeders over the course of her life so far that had these rare blood types and she has become quite addicted to them. while she will drink any type available, she will not feel fully satisfied unless it is one of those two types.

what is her opinion on humans? // she likes them a lot and finds their fragility to be endearing, like a small animal. she doesn't find anything wrong with feeding regularly on humans nor eating them on occasion as it is just a normal thing for her and her culture. so sometimes she can say things that seem a bit cold and dismissive as she feels humans should feel honored that they are such a huge source for those that they need.

does she get along with the other species? // she tries to keep the peace with everyone she encounters, but she is known to unnerve some people due to her probing questions and sometimes wandering mind when she peaks inside of their private dreams.

does she enjoy human blood? // she really enjoys human blood. it is something she finds quite exciting and prefers it fresh as opposed to donated which is what she has in a pinch. she can sympathize with vampires who choose the vegetarian lifestyle but she personally would never give it up. it always makes her feel very good and refreshed.

how does she feel about working with the other houses? // it's quite a thrill for her as they are all on their best behavior as the houses do not take kindly to those who fight amongst themselves. she can't help but feel a little excited about the possible interactions and altercations that may form between everyone.

what does she think about the murders? // a tragedy of course! with her fondness for humans and their blood, she was devastated to find out that they were being slaughtered in the night and discarded like trash. it is painful to her to think about those lives being ended over something so foolish and reckless, which is why she happily complied to join the group and investigate.

Shaved on both sides of the head and carefully styled to remain on a sheer and severe part as black wire falls off to the side often obscuring an amber eye. When taken out of the stiffening hairspray, it becomes surprisingly soft and fluffy. When particularly needed, bangs are pulled back into a little bun or a simple ponytail, but preference is given to the harsh style which it is usually raked into.

A hazel, though only through technical classification. A warm brown at the main front that is feathered with a light yellow, exceptionally amber forward for pictures and closeup while creating the illusion of a strange kaleidoscope when far away. Through angles in light and head tilting, the appearance presents as a warm brown, a fiery orange, a rageful yellow, or when surrounded by bright blues a greenish yellow.







Aesthetic



Silver adornments decorate the vampire's body. Two in each ear, though uneven. Both lobes, one cartilege, and one flat. Continued upon modifications, ink decorates his skin: a flourished word upon his right forearm "Pride." When he got it, it was in reference to the sin, but now he isn't quite sure. Underneath a left bicep, there's a medusa head. Continuing down, there's a tattoo of a rose and bramble on his left hip, and a skull on his right calf. Normally dressed in leather or in black with a preference towards, funnily enough, showing off pale skin and a muscular body. A preference to discomforting vampiric types, jewelry take the form of specially made crosses and other paraphernalia. Though, the dark edge usually at complete contrast with the pristine and professional white chef's uniform that his occupation calls for.

Overview



Troubled and with a continual chip on his shoulder, first impressions usually do not end well for the seemingly continually dour and
aggressive
vampire. Despite being blessed with an angelic and almost pretty visage, his divine appearance is often soured by a fast temper and bad attitude, he has a deep sense of
justice
which he is constantly asked to stifle in order to play the lapdog of others. As such, he has developed an increasingly
harsh
outlook. Despite his more unseemly
violent
tendencies, his actual danger level is relatively minor. Prone to shouting or punching, he takes great pains to never actually inflict his tantrums upon the unworthy. Instead, he
directs
his anger towards the ones who directly antagonistic, and the willfully incompetent. And never for unjust reasons such as sexual orientation or gender identity. This destructive temperament is not for any sadistic love of cruelty, but rather a deep seated interest for everyone to reach their best. Something which he does not believe can be achieved through coddling, but rather harsh yet
constructive
criticism. Despite any claims to callous disregard, he does care deeply, and often
contradicts
his own harshness with a surprisingly good sense of humor amongst people he trusts, a grumpy form of house husbandry, a deeply curious side, an incredibly strong work ethic, and an intense
passion
for the things he loves.





Likes



Strange and unusual foods decorate his palette alongside regular intervals at the gym. A preference towards combat sports, especially those with a heavy handed nudge towards the "combat" part. Blood and violence often bring a balming smile upon a stormy face, though not necessarily out of masochistic love of being punched, but more the thrill of a challenge. Alongside being generally fight oriented, he has a soft spot for children and those who try their absolute best yet still fail. Competency and effort breeds respect, and he greatly enjoys those that are competent and obsessed with their craft.





Dislikes



Harsh frustration and a hair trigger temper easily triggered by willful ignorance and incompetency. Mistakes potentially lethal and the naturally gifted yet lazy are often rebuked with rage. He also believes that utilizing vampiric powers breeds complacency and laziness. Cheats and disrespect are also combatted with frustration. He's absolutely awful with computers and phones. And while not necessarily a dislike as more a strange occurrence that encourages distaste, it seems a declaration of war has been cited against him by the entire animal kingdom. He has nothing against cats or dogs, but they bay and howl in his presence.






Hobbies



Fighting and racing are frivolities chief outside of work. However, intense mindset breeds robust obsession, so culinary practices also siphon away at time - the home often smelling of pastries. Cravings on tentative strings of sanity dictate that the management of dirt and grime be given importance, cleanliness bringing about a satisfaction. And never being one for reliance, he tends to a small garden to labor over for personal use.






Fears



Abandonment and Uselessness, but never to be admitted. His sire triggers a deeply repressed fear of failure and uncouth behavior - the bay of terror comes more from punishment, rather than a trill of needing to please.

Born and then abandoned, the world is not kind to the humans who are discarded and thrown aside without familial support. Most definitely left for supernatural feed, the small baby was passed as a burden through friends and small communities until deemed old enough to be a decent sized meal for an exalted member of their society - ultimately raised as an investment for the future rather than as a youth. Poverty stained the hands of caretakers, with hard times on the horizon, and they traded the child for supplies.

Foggy memories obscure the more horrific acts inflicted upon the cattle raised for slaughter, but clarity returns at the awakening in a dumpster with nothing to his name, weak and shaky from blood loss like a newborn lamb. Stealing to survive, essentials were swiped under watchful eye of baker and authority, taking refuge in storage rooms and under awnings in exchange for labor, and often fighting to keep the meager bread that was won. A harsh environment slowly molding a harsher mentality in this dog eat dog world.

A man with sharp eyes and rich clothes passed him by, tongue gently prodding at hungry canines as he gazed upon the nearly adult man. A crooked finger and warm honeyed promises of firelight and full bellies, lazy afternoons, and soft cloth.

The beckoning taken with the crack of a smile, a mistake that would haunt the rest of his soon elongated lifespan. Cleaned and groomed, the vampire laid his claws upon the awaiting Aurelian, soft touches with malicious intent, and the change to the agreement was enacted upon the first bite.

The straw that broke the camel's back, the newly turned wrecked havoc upon his immediate surroundings until subdued by the elder, beaten to a point of fatality had his rebirth not occurred, and then gently caressed once more, red ambrosia being pushed forcibly down his throat so that his pretty face would knit itself together once more for another round of inflicted suffering under the harsh tutelage of his ward.

The course of manners creating a cycle of lashing out with violence and hatred, only to be broken into submission with a tentative grasp upon his will. Though, tenacity could only last so long under torturous circumstances. Leaving his first decade of vampirism behind him, Aurelian finally broke into sobbed out apologies and begs for the pain to quit, a malleable ball to be reformed into his new role of society.

Morose and quiet now, the newly awakened was then passed to another family where he was adopted to mostly serve the family. Poked and prodded, shivering fear led the family to point him to anything to reignite some kind of life back in the servant, private tutors hired to reignite passion to no avail.

Eventually, he was locked into the kitchen and told to make his own fun. Gleaming knives and controlled fire caught amber eyes, and at the first careful cut of bovine flesh came the spark of constructive destruction. A kindling to the oppressive confines of a seeming immortality, identity rooted itself back into place.

Control regained in a deemed disgustingly parasitic lifestyle, passing interest metamorphosing all-consuming obsession as he spent the next half decade devoted to studying culinary arts.

He now runs a high class restaurant with very good reviews, expertly crafted employee benefit package, and a strange, eclectic menu selection.









O

pinions





A strange distaste for his own kind, though not unwarranted. He prefers living amongst humans and tries to make their sad miserable shorter lives a little bit less downtrodden. Small comforts are given in cozy atmosphere and expertly crafted cuisine... and trying to survive divorced from the politics of vampiric society. A personal preference of blood is given to those that are generally deemed powerful or wealthy: as such, he doesn't discriminate between species or conventional bloodtype as power can be found in varying forms. Trying to shake away the self-inflicted feelings of being parasitical, he prefers to not feed at all unless necessary. Continuing his learned fear for the bloodsuckers, he prefers the company of other supernaturals and humans rather than others like him. The murders unsettle him, counting himself among the few that came from the preyed upon class. And there's a sneaking suspicion in him that these murders are part of a larger plot, rather than a serial killer. In his infant stage before, he may have started shouting it at the top of his lungs, been the first to rally into actually doing something about the killings. Though, he's learned since to shut his mouth and stay low to the ground as to not incur the rather of things much older and stronger than he, and wait until it blows over.

does he get along with the other species? // he very rarely interacts with them outside of business that his witch deals with so he really has no opinion on them. he has occasionally thought that he wouldn't have minded being a feeder though, simply due to the physical nature of that role.

what does he think about the murders? // he is angry about them and is frustrated that it has taken this long to start investigating them. he feels like those who have been committing the murders may have also been responsible for the deaths of his daughter and wife.

what does he think about his witch? // they used to be close, but after his witch took him for an unimportant meeting and his family died during that time, their relationship is strained. even more so due to his recklessness in taking one of his lives due to grief.
