Wandering Soul
A bolt of thunder arced through the dark cloudy sky, its powerful crackle reverberating in the eerie silence of the shadowy forest. Rain poured down heavily from the sky but it did not disturb the menacing giant black wolf which walked proudly on the muddied ground of the forest, seeking for sustenance. He seemed to be out of luck though since the storm has driven many animals into hiding and the pouring rain covered up both their tracks and their stench. Aggravated he howled at the moon then sat down and closed his eyes.
In the next moment the paws and claws transformed into hands and legs, his hulking, beast like head changed into a human. Finally his transformation was complete and Darien stood up, annoyed.
" Blasted rain... " he swore, cleaning the mud from his trousers " It seems I will have to find food among the... humans. "
He uttered the last word with pure disgust. Even though his true form was human he could not stand his lesser brethren. They were short sighted, docile and weak - everything Darien hated in both his prey and his allies. Resigned, he headed out from the forest, hoping to find something to eat before dusk.
