||Don't Let Fear Control You||

  • Acamen winced in pain and quickly shot his eyes open to see Lucinda standing at his window opening the curtains.

“What are you doing?” he groaned pulling his blanket over his head to end the burning sensation the sun was causing to his darkened figure. Luce rolled her eyes.

“Today is the day of the huge fair you’ve been planning for weeks but I guess I can just let you miss it since sleep is more important.” she turned toward the door to leave. As soon as the words left her mouth Acamen jumped up in bed and transformed back into his human self. He was fully dressed, cane in hand, and a large sparkling smile on his face.

“Thank you, lovely daughter of mine, I had almost forgotten.” He smiled kissing his daughter on the head.

“Maybe this wouldn’t happen if you stopped drinking so much at 1am” she mumbled under her breath.

Acamen narrowed his eyes at Luce, “What was that?”.

She turned to him and flashed him a large fake smile. “Nothing, nothing, but just so you know. It’s already 9am.”

Another wave of fear flushed over Acamen as he quickly wiped out a pocket watch. She was correct. “Thank you!” he shouted over his shoulder as he rushed out of his room. He practically flew down the hall and down the stairs, saying “Hi” to a few people who were chatting and eating breakfast in the commons area. He slammed open the main doors to the guild and was met with the bustling town. Rows upon rows of booths were set up and many people crowded them causing the place to be loud and busy. There was music playing in the distance on a stage and the faint smell of food from vendor's was intoxicating. Acamen smiled and greeted many people as he walked through the crowd. He was quite well known in the village and would often go for walks in the mornings to greet people.

Finally, he had made it through the crowd and to the stage. The band was just ending one of their songs and Acamen used this moment to but in.

“Just need a moment to make an announcement.” he informed the band before making his way to the front of the stage. The area was bustling with people and no one was really paying attention to the stage. He stopped for a second and thought before finally taking his cane and banging it down on the stage. The sound was very loud and echoed throughout the area causing many people to stop and turn. Acamen smiled at the successfulness of his plan and began to speak. “Thank you everyone for coming out today. I am glad that we are all still able to keep our heads held high and smile after everything that has happened. Today is a day of fun and celebration. A day to meet new people and hopefully find a place for yourself. We have many great guilds showcasing themselves today including, the very best guild, Charwell. We are all taking members and look forward to meeting you. I will be right off stage at the Charwell booth right over there,” he pointed to a large booth next to the stage, “For now, I will let the band continue to play. Have a wonderful fair everyone!”

He stepped down the stairs of the stage and headed straight for the booth. Luce already waited for him, sitting in one of the chairs. “Hopefully we get some good new recruits.” He smiled at her.

Illyria (Tyber)
Mentioned: MaraZipan MaraZipan

Hero's may perish in the field of battle with honor, legends live to keep a mark on this world... but chaos mark the world but the question lies as of is what they do define as good or bad. How big or how small are these men of spontaneous disorder either internally or externally. There are few that have understood and witnessed history that no living being has witnessed before and walks these same two feet for thousands of years... Illyria was one of them who has seen the many and few , large and small , shallow and deep...

Illyria awakens in a secluded hideout in the middle of the forest most call sacred land as most do not dare to venture to roam lands of god(s). This only provided Illyria the better protection of his belongings and hiding of objects. It was mere morning time and Illyria likes to set the day with some basic meats such as chicken and pork , healing and nourishing his body but will never fix the scars on his body and face . Upon his chaotic plans of venturing he knew there was a special day for a special girl in the nearby village .

With casual nonchalant pace he finished his food and picked up a special package wrapped in cloth and sinew before covering his camp up with foliage in detail and heading to the local village. Upon his way he was equipped with light black leather armor and beneath chainmail to provide extra protection for himself , his outer clothing was composed of leather gloves, flexible pants, flexible shoes for greater movement, and a hoodie over his chest, head, and back to not get noticed too much. On outer looks at first glance he would be the kind of person that just looks like a poor villager but if given closer inspection for a good while he would be easily noticed as a chaos due to his personality, fangs and eye color. Normally for chaos either minor or major they are typically bad due to their unpredictability as it lies in their genetics but few only do bad things that bring a bad wrap as for the rest do their own thing like Illyria.

Upon entering the village fair he roamed among the crowds to look to deliver a special package but was halted by a familiar voice , speaking on the stage was a friend for the longest of times , Acamen. Witnessing the man for his very eyes brought him joy that he still lives after the decline of members and other troubles . As the two individuals await at their recruiting stand Illyria approaches the two from the side of the stand " well if it isn't the old guild..." he says with a small chuckle before he takes off the hoodie covering his head to reveal his face " it's good to see you two again after all that time ... how long ago was it ? I can't really remember but anyways happy 100th birthday Lucinda!" He hugged her happily with joy as he pulled out a sinew package for her " I heard you might go out hunting so I got for you a special present " he hands the package to her as within lies bracer vanguard armor for her adventures .

Isla had already made it to the fair long before many people had gotten there. The blond girl absolutely adored them. The sounds of chatter and overall friendliness in the atmosphere made her feel very welcome, and not to mention the food! In fact, as she was walking around checking out booths for the other guilds and overall being quite nosey, she was stuffing her face with any samples of food that the booths would hand out in an attempt to recruit a new member.

Isla would make sure to talk to the people running their booths for quite a while so they didn’t suspect that she was only there for the food. Not that she hated talking to them. She had even made a few friends by doing this! But since she had only been in the Charwell guild for a little under 3 months now, nobody really knew her.

Finally she made her way over to the Charwell booth, noticing Lucinda, Acamen, and...another boy. She skipped up to them, at first turning to Luce and giving her a big smil and a wave. Well, as much of a wave as she could with both hands carrying the samples she had taken.

“Happy birthday Luce! I got you somethin! You dont have to wear it, but I figure its better than nothin huh? Oh... I already gave part of it away. Boo... well it is something you can wear, but thats all im sayin!” Isla smiled and set the box down on the booth. She wasnt exactly sure how often Lucinda wore bracelets, especially shiny black ones, but she hoped it would do.

Isla loved bracelets, and since Lucinda and Acamen both could turn into shadows, she thought black would be pretty on them. Then she turned to their guild leader and the new boy she had never met.

“Hey Mr. C! That was a great speech, you really know how to get ‘em. Also,” she addressed the boy with the scar now, “hey, I’m Isla! I’ve only been here a few months now so that’s probably why i’ve never seen you around.”

Normally, Beltari would be awoken by the sound of the lively guild during the late morning, but this was not the case today. Today was the day of the "grand festival." Some faire that the Guild Master was taking a part in to recruit new members. Anyhow, today, Beltari was up quite early due to the scrambling of, seemingly, every person in the city. She sat up and looked around her small room, though there really wasn't much to look at. After a solid few minutes, the horned girl finally had the resolve to stand up and start getting ready.

As she dressed the thought through the things that happened last night; how everyone was so excited, how everyone was so loud. Before Acamen could assign everyone their roles for the next day, Beltari had retreated to the safety of her room and resumed studying that fascinating world of bakery science. Soon enough, Beltari was dressed in her standard adventuring clothes. Deciding that the incredibly loud festival could wait, Beltari took her pack out from her side and dumped all the books from it. She truly loved this pack. It only ever weighted five pounds, but could hold up to 100 pounds inside. Not knowing when she would get more free time, Beltari went through the small library that took up half of her room, picking up books that she hasn't read, or only half-read. For good measure, Beltari even plucked some books that she's finished, considering how long the festival might get.

The whole process of actually getting Beltari out of her room took a generous 30 minutes. Finally deciding that the rest of her guild might need help, she opened the door, just in time to see Arcamen flying down the halls like a madman. Making her way down to the large mess hall, a few other guild members greeted her, to which she greeted them back. Breakfast seemed to have special care put into it. It both looked and tasted much different than the unsalted eggs and toast that was usually available.

After breakfast, the Tiefling walked herself outside, where she found a small crowd of people collected around Acamen and Lucinda. She recognized another person there, though had never held a proper conversation with her. What was her name? Lisa? "Yeah, I think it was Lisa..." she muttered under her breath. Asking for a job that Beltari would then have to repeat over again for the next day seemed like it could wait a bit. Turning around, Beltari whistled a little song to herself as she began to wander the rest of the festival's wonders.

Festivals in Holbeck were enormous affairs, especially those that were sponsored by the greater guilds. Naturally, every trader and merchant in a fifty mile radius would make a beeline for the city, hoping to get good positions in order to sell their wares.
Kach had woken up at 3AM in order to make his way the capital. He'd refuelled his carriage, checked every one of his wares for defects and scrubbed his little stall until it gleamed. He'd get all the customers today and make a name for himself!
...unfortunately, his carriage had broken down just five miles from the capital.
"Damned mechanical carriage! Gah! I should've stuck with horses!" barked the young merchant to nobody in particular. He was so close! Today was supposed to be the start of a great merchanting career! Kach couldn't help sobbing with frustration.

At this point, a young man poked his head out of the window in the carriage's storage unit.
"...uh, hey. I sort of want to get to Holbeck before the crowds get there. Would you mind, you know, cheering up a little so you can get me there?" he said, a slightly foolish grin plastered on his face.
Kach did not remember seeing this man enter his carriage.
"What the- who the hell are you!?!" barked the young merchant.
"Relax! I'm just a stowaway." said the young man, nonchalantly. "Why did you stop? Need to take a dump? You might as well hold it in until-"
"No! The damn carriage has broken down! Now for goodness sake, will you get lost?! I have enough on my plate to deal with, I don't need hobos hiding in my carriage too!" yelled Kach, but the man was clearly ignoring him.
"Ah, yes, I see. Say, can I have a look at the engine?" he said, hopping out of the carriage and walking over to the boot.
Kach, who by now was on the verge of losing his mind, allowed the stranger to do as he pleased.

Within twenty minutes, the carriage was whizzing along the road. It was actually working better than it had before. Kach was fully aware that he'd normally have to pay a pretty penny for this kind of service, but the stranger had refused payment.
"Woah! I'd never have guessed you were a magical engineer!" said Kach, grinning at his saviour. "I mean, no offence, but I thought that magical engineers were usually wealthy aristocrats who'd gone to elite institutions and all."
"I'm not a magical engineer. I dropped out of my first year because I got bored. Got any food? I've been eating dandelion soup for the last week." said the young man.
"There's some bread and cheese in the box under the cooling unit. Help yourself-" began Kach, but the young man had already finished the entire contents of the lunch box. "...hm. Anyway, what's your name? I'd like to keep in contact with you. I know a few tradesmen guilds who'd love to have a magical engineer on staff and I'd be happy to refer you."
The young man chuckled. "I'm Wyatt. Sorry, but I'm not interested in working for tradesman. I'm gonna join a magic guild!".
"Huh. I mean... I guess that's an exciting life. Why a magic guild?" asked Kach.
"A few reasons. Firstly, engineers aren't really expected to be specialists. They learn current control, metal manipulation and a whole lotta theory. Me? I'm just interested in current control. I think it's got a lot of depth to it." explained Wyatt. "I suck at metal manipulation and I'd rather eat myself than learn engineering theory. I think it's best I just focus on what I like."
"So, you want to research? Ah. You might look into the Charwell guild, then - I hear they've got an expert crystal researcher." remarked Kach. "She's also an incredible enchantress - a real genius. That being said, she's said to be a little on the emotional side. However, you can probably ask her if she could do with a lab assistant."
"Huh. Charwell guild, huh? I'll keep that in mind. Yeah, I wanna research, but I also want to travel the world. Go on adventures, fight monsters, be a hero. All that silly stuff." said Wyatt, leaning back.
"Aha, sure. Now shut it, we need to get through customs." snapped Kach.

After bidding farewell to Kach, Wyatt headed to the festival square. He was pretty set on applying to the Charwell guild, but many of the other guilds had food stalls and were offering free food to prospective members.
Perhaps the Charwell guild could wait just a little.
After promising to join the Butchers Guild, the Weavers Guild, the Accountants Association, the Massage Worker Union and the Company of Geese Farmers, Wyatt had finally eaten enough food to last him a week.
"Now! Its time to get to work!"

He'd arrived just in time to hear Acamen's speech, after which he made his way to the Charwell guild stall.
"Woah." murmured Wyatt as he caught sight of the large guild booth. The members of the Charwell guild were all so... damned good looking. He looked down at his dusty jacket and slightly torn jeans: would he fit in here?
Sure he would!

As he marched over to the guild stand, he remembered his older brother's advice on job seeking.
If you want a job, you gotta show 'em you're a man! You wanna walk over, give the boss a strong, firm, handshake! Then you say "Boss! I'm the man you're lookin' for!" That'll show him ya character!
Wyatt thought his older brother was a total dullard, so he decided not to follow that advice. He strode over to Acamen and promptly pulled out his bag of toffees.
"Say, d'you want a toffee? Also, can I join your guild?" he said, a slightly foolish grin plastered on his face.

Hopeful anxiety. That's how Lark would describe the feeling that threatened to overtake her. Distracting herself was all she could do to keep from trembling as she made her way through the hustle and bustle of the crowds. Try as she might to "blend in" and "appear normal", she couldn't seem to stop jumping out of her skin each time an unknown person bumped into her. She was beginning to think she was making a mistake. Perhaps she wasn't ready to be around others just yet. She tossed her white locks out of her face as she looked in the direction she'd come from. Even if she wanted to leave at this point it seemed hopeless. The amount of people seemed to have double in the short time since she'd entered the city. Pressing on was the only logical option at this point. She told herself that all she had to do was find the Charwell stall and ask if she could join. What was the worst that could happen? Sure she handn't spoken to another being in, well, ever, but it couldn't be too hard.

Lark's short hair moved in a flurry about her head as she shook it to clear her thoughts. She could do this. She wouldn't think of the alternative. Before anyone else could push her aside, she ducked and dodged her way to where she thought the booth would be stopping short in surprise when she actually found it. Unfortunately, her abrupt stop caused her to collide with something or someone rather solid and she found herself sprawled ungraciously on the ground.

"You're sorry--I, I mean. I'm sorry!" she stammered and let out a nervous laugh after looking up into the face of the burly man she'd run into. When he only looked down at her in disdain she continued. "Why would you be sorry? I mean, it's not your fault you're built like a boulder...unless it is?" When he seemed to only get angrier she realized her mistake. Face burning, she attempted again to apologize. "Uh...what I meant to say was... I'm sorry. I'll watch where I'm going from now on." she finished lamely.

The relief that spread through her when the stranger grunted and walked away was palpable and she let out a shaky breath she didn't know she'd been holding. Lark got up and dusted herself off. When she looked over at the stall she saw a rather easy going person walk up to the guild leader. Her black eyes widened as he held out his offering and blatantly asked to joined the guild. Panic set in and she took a hesitant step backwards. "I was supposed to bring a gift!?" she unknowingly said aloud. Maybe she wasn't prepared to do this after all. She continued to watch from a distance, nervously pacing back and forth through the crowed as she wondered if she should approach the guild stall.

Acamen looked up from the papers in front of him to a familiar voice. ‘Illyria? It couldn’t be’ he thought to himself. The man pulled down his hood revealing himself to actually be Illyria. A large smile crossed Acamens face and he quickly stepped out from behind the booth to scoop him up in a hug.
“You just love to worry us sick don’t you,” he spoke, releasing him and giving him a firm pat on the back. “You don’t think to check in after a battle so vicious? I get that you like to disappear on us a lot but this time you really had me worried.” Acamen chuckled, thankful for his close friends return. “Will you be staying with us for a while this time? I could use some help with the new recruits since you are an original member. I think you owe me after scaring us so bad.” he continued slinging his arm around him in a very casual and friendly manner.

Acamen smiled at Isla as she turned to him but it quickly turned to a playful frown.
“How many times do I have to tell you to call me Acamen? Mr. C makes me sound like an old man or a teacher. I am a hip young man who can still get any lady I want.” he smirked playfully flipping his hair. “Oh, and before I forget, this is Illyria. You haven’t met him before because he disappeared on us for a while there but he’s been with us since the very beginning. 100 years now. Maybe you can convince him to stay with us this time.” he lightheartedly patted his shoulder before releasing him. “If you will excuse me. I notice someone looking at me with determined eyes.” Acamen chuckled before stepping away from them.

Acamen watched as the determined fellow walked up to him with an amused smile on his face. He was leaning a bit on his cane and had his head cocked to the side. Out of all the ways he imaged the moment going down being offered a toffee was not one of them. “A toffee?” he questions out loud staring at the bag that was being offered to him. He wasn’t sure what he had expected. Maybe a fight, he never really knew what kind of enemies he made when drunk. He reached his hand in the back and grabbed one out before popping it into his mouth. “So you want to join my guild?” he asked quirking an eyebrow and rolling the candy over into his cheek. “Why do you want to join my guild?”

Illyria grunted a bit and tried to hold back his mania from getting the best of him from hugging back and getting super happy to meet them , still trying to keep as little strings attached and not too personal with matters. His head turned attention to Acanen as he listened openly to what he had to say " it's your choice to worry but I'm just another member and just as expendable as those that gave their lives in that battle , i don't deserve anything special my friend but I appreciate your concern .." he forms a smile as he tries to be humble but also truthful as he is afterall just another member of the guild . He listens intently To Luce as she told about her father's feelings and their plead to stay for a while . His fingers from his left arm dragged down around his shoulder as there lies a massive scar from the dreadful battle where that arm was once rid of his body, needing to feed of the dead to regenerate the ligament back together being said chills down his spine . Of course he would never tell them about his story in depth like such.

Looking back to the two he only comes to a response eventually " I'll consider it but it won't be for long ...so where might my room be again? I hope someone else hasn't taken it already for its domain....... I've never 'teached' students but I'll do it if you want me to, I hope they don't disappoint me..." he forms a small smile as he takes in the gratitude from The gift he gave her. " it was just a little something I looted from a powerful warlord, I hope you like it ..."

TheCoRgiGaL TheCoRgiGaL
He turns his attention to the inexperienced individual that questions his presence " im Illyria ...you may have not seen me physically but spiritually I am always here~ " he puts in a wise response before twisting it back to reality" don't worry about it tho let's just say I've been here from time and again but let's just say I've been here for a while~..." he smirks to the girl as he pulls out from a secret pouch that seems near invisible a sort of dirty pendant of the guild original member. The pendant dating back to exactly a century when he was among the first to join the ranks of the guild but now comes and goes as he pleases for reasons unknown~

After giving the girl a good glance to his treasure he stealthily hides it back in a different hiding pouch as he smiles and hangs around the booth for other recruits to interact with for only a short while ..after on he is almost never sitting In one place and wanders around most often.

Upon lounging around he noticed a girl being on the ground and was inclined to investigate on the situation but noticed Luce was hot on the case resulting in him relaxing back at the post, eyeing on the hotshot noobie wanting to apply, he wanted to crack a few jokes at the poor lad but he held his tongue due to not fully understanding the boy, respect, and he doesent want to harm the guild recruitment process, if they want a new fresh fodder for the frontlines what is his right to deny such opportunity?

Isla giggled at Acamen’s playful scolding, knowing full well he didnt like to be called that.

“Yea yea I know you can Mr.- ah, I mean Acamen!” She gave him a big smile and a small thumbs up as he walked away to talk to some guy offering toffee. She laughed and shook her head. “That guy’s so funny. Also,” finally she turned to Lucinda, “you really like ‘em? Made ‘em myself and everything! Bracelets are kinda my thing.” She shrugged casually before giving a small nod to indicate she would be at the party as Luce left to help a stranger who had fallen down.

The blond girl swung her head around to talk to Illyria now, his silent demeanor making her more and more curious. She was determined to have this traveller stay with them though. It seemed like everyone here really liked him, so that must mean he was really cool! Before speaking, she finished the last of the food she had taken and adjusted her pigtails.

“So what brings you here? I mean, if you dont come around and stay with us? You’ve got that real nice pendant and everything!” Isla hopped up on the counter of their booth, sitting crosslegged and resting her cheek on her hand. “Everyone really wants you to stay too! Although I’ve never met you before except maybe in spirit...although I gotta warn you now I’m not real good with all that spirit stuff... too spooky for me. Anyways, even I would really like it if you stayed! We could have so much fun!” She paused, giving thought to how she could make his stay better...

Maybe he just didnt like it here? Maybe things werent exciting enough for him. “You could always come to Luce’s party!”

Myrrl arrived late to the bazaar. Things had already been in full swing, but as he walked through the crowd his head glided over a foot above the heads of the others. As they noticed him, people in the crowd pushed aside uncomfortably. Behind him walked two guards for the area, their hands nervously settled on the hilts of their swords. Massive shields hung from his arms, another hanging from his back. The light glinted off of his full plate as he did his best to navigate the crowds. The shaggy, furred head turned this way and that, the great beast lumbering from table to table. He noticed a tiefling, watching her move through the crowd. She caused him to pause, to stare for a short while before huffing. Large, relaxed eyes blinked as they took in the scenario. Another couple of minutes, and Myrrl noticed a gathering group.

He turned to head in that direction, shuffling along at a languid pace, as though he was in no particular hurry. There were already people there, talking to Acamen. Captain Boone had fed Myrrl in the past and had taught him to wait. Waiting could be good. He'd wait now, breathing deep and slow as he watched the guild master talk to the others. His height caused his shadow to stretch over a couple of them, but they were engaged with each other. His observant eyes took in the faces of the others there, studying the human features. Acamen, Luce, Illyria, Isla, Kach, Lark... there was so much energy and activity on their faces and in their body language. They were all very busy, so he moved aside somewhat to sit down on a low stone wall. The heavy shields were allowed to slip loose and settle on the ground while the two guards moved uncertainly to either side of him.

After a successful wander around the bazar, Beltari had bought some nice and useless things. A glass bear, a wooden owl, some lemon candies; you know, useless stuff. Wandering back to her guild's tent she finally decided to go ask Acamen what she should be doing right now. Even more interesting than her haul of trinkets was a massive gnoll-like creature; a creature which she has rarely seen. She eyed it just as she noticed it was looking at her, then followed it's eyes to her guild tent. Helping someone would mean that she had to go ask Acamen what to do, while not helping him made her an awful guild member, especially after the attack... Weighing the options and running through the scenarios she decided to trail him back to the guild tent.

After seeing him give up and sit at a stone wall, Beltari thought it best to go introduce herself. Walking up, she extended her hand for a handshake, "Hello. My name is Beltari Fiero I am a member of the Charwell Guild and it seems like you might be interested in joining?"

Roya was one of the first members up, simply because the responsibility of the fair setup was placed on her. She was told, by Acamen, not to drink anything and stay sober. The young mage did not drink anything for two days straight and the fair setup had gone by very smooth. Roya had gotten a few looks from a few people and had been approached by a few tailors to wear their wares, of course Roya agreed at free stuff and she agreed to get the other members to wear the different tailors clothes.

Throughout the day Roya had abducted random guild members to wear the clothes and to continue their duties. All the while, she made sure everything was on track even while changing outfits and hairstyles throughout the day. At the moment, Roya wore a simple sleeveless button up blouse tucked into a dark purple skirt, with a bow tie match.

Roya weaved her way through the crowd making her way to the guild booth, she stopped in front of the guild booth without saying a word as she stared at her clipboard checking things off. After she was done she placed the clipboard on the booth and smiled at everyone,"Goodmorning all. Quick PSA: All members, and/or future members of the Charwell Guild, are eligible to advertise for a tailor. You are encouraged to partner with them and wear their clothes, and they will allow you to keep a few things if you wish!" Roya clapped her hands and took a seat.

Lost in her thoughts of will she or won't she, Lark absentmindedly stared in the direction of the Charwell Guild members. She was beginning to adjust to having people around her and almost didn't notice the girl next to her. "Yes..." her voice was flat as she responded to the girl's question without thinking about it. Her whole body stiffened as she realized someone was actually speaking to her. And she didn't even have to slam into them to start a conversation this time! A blush crept across her pale face as she turned to face the girl.

"N-nice? Really?" a hopeful spark brightened her flushed face. "I- um, I--That's good to hear, I suppose." realizing how flustered she must have seemed, she closed her dark eyes and took a deep, calming breath. She studied the girl before her for a moment. This person seemed friendly enough. After comparing this to her previous interaction, she decided that she'd work hard to appear calm on the outside even if she was screaming on the inside. She plastered a genuine, if a little nervous, smile on her face.

"My name is Lark. Forgive me, I haven't really spoken to many others in the past sixty years." a slightly awkward pause while she gathered her thoughts, " That's actually what brings me here... I think...I think I'm ready to form relationships with others..." the blush returned to her face at the thought of being as open as she was. Flustered, she quickly added an afterthought "But maybe not."

"Are you looking to join the guild as well?" she asked innocently as the redness crept up to engulf her ears. This conversation thing was harder than she'd thought it'd be.

Illyria took a smile as he was to inspect his own chaos necklace as it was working just dandy for him. Looking back at the curious girl he raised a brow as his orange iris colored eyes glimmer to the light " thank you, I like the pendant very much. "And for her questions his smile fades slowly as he rests his chin on his hand while his elbow was to his gut for something to press upon. " I am unable to inform you of what my reasons are and why I do the things I do , I hope you can understand.." his inner mind begging to yell at her 'don't question me' but the chaos pendant keeps it from externally saying it.

As for her wanting of him to stay he smiles a bit " I am known by a few people in past battles and I appreciate them but I come and go, I'm just stopping by the place for a while, I can't say how long and for what reasons but I'll be here and gone" he returned back to the smile as he pet pats her head as gently as possible so he doesent bash her skull to the ground ." It was a metaphor darling about the spiritual stuff... hm, a better way to say it is that I have a special place in the guild's heart ♥️.... of course it's not like I run the show like the old man * thumb pointing to acamen* but I'm always here when it needs me ... or not, you'll have to find out eventually ~" he chuckles as he unknowingly brings out more curiousity and confusion with questions left more than answers.

Wyren was calm, laying his back against a wall by himself for the past hour, his arms crossed tightly as he watched the people at the festival. Talking, arguing, and discussing amongst each other about noting in particular. Even though it was an important occasion, Wyren hadn't come to chat, or join a guild. He was already apart of a sturdy one, although he had only been apart of it for about two thirds of the month. Even with his short time spent in it, Acamen had been very kind to him.

The only reason Wyren really decided to come was to see the various guilds and there skill sets, he took interest in seeing which member might be the leader based on personality or decision making skills, or other terms. On the occasion that somebody had made eye contact with him, he wouldn't bat an eye and just stare back until the other looked away, or got freaked out and left.

Wyren was standing relatively close to the area were the young children were playing, but because of his unsettling aura. some of the adults came back for there children and carried them along with them through the crowd.

Francis

Stepping over the slope of a nearby foothill, a man clad in plated mail looked out onto the horizon, taking in the sights of the small town, home to the infamous Charwell Guild. Finally, he had made it, and not too late. There was still light out, and he had aimed to find some work before the day's end. Now, he could do just that. Shield resting on his back and a sword on his hip, Francis made his way towards the town.

The festival was a lively thing, with music, drinks, speeches and the like. Francis felt his armor rattle with each step, and the music and chatter were muffled by his heavy armament. Unlike the majority of people in this world, Francis was born without magic, and raised by a completely normal family, but due to changing times and a surprisingly bad economy, he left his hometown for work, and now an opportunity had presented itself. He wandered among the crowds, searching for any good deals, and asking around for jobs. Being a mercenary was difficult, contrary to popular belief, but it helped when one had enchanted armor.

If Wyatt had realised that people were laughing at him, he didn't really care. He grinned up at Acamen as the guild-master gracefully accepted his offering.
At the same time, he caught sight of what he thought to be a teenager with a heavily scarred face - the teenager seemed to be looking at him.
Wyatt was far too innocent to even have conceptualised Illyria's true impression of him. To him, it seemed like Illyria was eyeing his toffees, so he made a mental note to give one to him when he got the chance.

"Y'see, I heard from a merchant I ran into today that the Charwell guild is a great patron of magical research." said Wyatt to Acamen, taking a sweet for himself. "My dream is to be a magical researcher. I specialise in current control - I'm no expert, but I think I could make myself useful around here - I'd like to help out somehow!"
Current control was an exceptionally difficult skill; electricity wasn't fully understood yet. There were no established masters of the technique, even amongst the greatest of magical engineers. Even if Wyatt was an oblivious oddball, having a current control specialist could prove useful.

"Also, uh... I hope you'll excuse this selfish request, but I think the main reason I'd like to join this guild is because I've heard that it's like a big family. I've always wanted to be part of a family and, um, I think this guild might just be my best shot." said Wyatt, before turning a bright shade of red. "Yikes. That was pretty embarrassing to say!"

Myrrl had sat patiently, quiet and waiting for the moment when he could approach Acamen when he was instead approached by Beltari. He paused, looking the tiefling up and down. His long tongue slithered out from between pointed teeth and ran along his muzzle. The gaze eventually settled on her hand and he reached forward with his own. The massive gauntleted hand wrapped around hers, the fur brushing skin as he shook it slowly. "Myrrl..." he said in a deep bass voice. "Boone." The guards sitting by him had since stood, prepared just in case the gnoll acted up. One raised a hand. "Pardon, miss. If you're a representative of the guild then we'll leave him in your care. Hopin' ya don't mind, but that were his purpose in comin' 'ere."

The gnoll looked back and forth between the two guards for a moment and it was as if their words triggered some sort of memory in him. He reached into a pouch at his side and withdrew an envelop with a golden seal stamped onto the back of it. It was addressed to the guild leader and written on a lovely bit of parchment. He thrust the letter of recommendation from Captain Boone at her chest. "Here. Letter. Join guild." The upper lip of the canid fluffed as he exhaled suddenly.

Acamen couldn’t help but put on an overly dramatic sad face on as Wyatt spoke.

“You really know how to get an old man emotional,” he spoke, fake wiping a tear from his eye. “If it is a family you are seeking you came to the right place and you definitely said the right things to tug at my heartstrings. How could I say no to something so earnest.” he chuckled patting the boy's shoulder. “Did you say you specialize in current control? That is quite the difficult one to master. We could definitely use that skill in our guild. If you’re looking for a teacher I have someone in mind… though I can’t imagine she will be too excited about me shoving a pupil on her…” Acamen allowed his thoughts to drift to her reaction, every scenario never ending well. He shook his head releasing those thoughts. “I’m sure it will be fine. I will introduce you two tonight at the new member mixer/Lucinda’s birthday party” he laughed scratching the back of his head. Acamen allowed his eyes to roam over the boys clothing. They seemed to be a bit tattered. As if on cue Roya popped in the tent giving her PSA on tailors.

Acamen quickly turned to her giving her a bright smile. “Roya! My very helpful pupil. I am glad to see you. You’ve done such a great job with the fair. I’m blown away. Once again, sorry about getting drunk last night and not helping this morning.” he rambled, doing his best to butter Roya up. “Anyways, while you’re here I have a new member here who could definitely use some new clothes and someone to show him around the guild. If you could get him his pendant and room key I would be incredibly grateful.” Acamen gave her a large and innocent smile, making sure to use his puppy dog eyes.

She looked at the letter, "Oh Captain Boone! I think I've heard Acamen talk about him once or twice. I'm certain he'll be ecstatic to see you." Beltari began walking towards the guild tent. Wonderful! Now Beltari had a good excuse as to why she wasn't where she was supposed to be; be it, Beltari never actually knew where she was supposed to be.

Beltari walks around to the back of the tent, to avoid the crowd. She seemed to appear out of nowhere behind Acamen. "Hey Guildmaster, I have someone you're going to wanna see." She stepped aside, leaving the hulking Myrrl infront of the guild master. Beltari was about to be on her way when she suddenly spotted Lucy. 'Oh shoot it's her birthday!' she thought. How could Beltari forget? The guild's righteous leader has been posting papers on it all over the guild quest wall. Not wanting to look like a bad guild member, she first put a hand on Luce's shoulder. "Hey Luce, happy birthday!" She reached into a small pouch, "Now I don't have much, but I brought options for your present. Let's see.... I have a glass blown bear, umm a small vile of rose oil, a carved owl, and a bit of candy." Holding out her palm, the 'options' are displayed in full view. "Go ahead and take your pick"

Isla laughed as Illyria patted her gently. She dangled her legs over the counter and swung them, keeping a curious eye on her new friend.

"Alright, well I like that kinda spirit better anyway! And It's ok if you don't have an answer... like I dont have an answer as to what my favorite animal is! I like corgis just fine, see?" She held up her tiny charm she kept attached to her skirt by a small chain. It was in the shape of a corgi dog. "But I also really like dolphins. Sometimes you kinda just gotta do what you gotta do I guess... I've never really traveled a whole lot, but I'll bet you have a lot of fun! I'm really glad you came, I hope you'll be able to stay for Luce's party, I think she will really like that."

Finally Isla jumped off of the booth, her pigtails swinging wildly. She had her eyes set on the new guy with the toffee. "You want some candy Illyria? I'll get you some." Half of her offer was for the candy, the other half an attempt to get him to stay longer. Of course she didn't expect the boy to leave right now, he had just gotten here. But nobody could resist candy! But before she could go and ask the man for the sweets, her mind changed course again and she turned back to her friend, curiously gazing at his scars.

"Umm...what are those about? Your scars I mean? Do they hurt?" Maybe the toffee would help?

Wyren let his hands down at his sides and closed his eyes starting to doze off, but he couldn't over the sound of two kids who were fighting with each other. One kid was holding a metal train in his right hand, pushing the other kid away with his left. The other was screaming and crying out a storm of tears, desperately wailing as he reached for the metal train. "Give it back," he whined, "It's not yours!" the boy sobbed through tears. "It's not like its yours either!" The bullying kid said sticking his tongue out. The two boys went back and fourth at each other for a while, making it hard for Wyren to rest. The sound of people talking simultaneously made it easy for the man to sleep so he wasn't happy that the screaming children were ruining his nap.

Wyren slowly stood up, but instead of a strait back his was slightly arched back. He let his arms and head hang. He turned his head toward the kids and grimaced.

"Hey." Is all he said to get the attention of the children. He squint at the children tiredly, barely able to hold his body up correctly. The kids stood still both of them frightened, flinching every time Wyren had moved.

Wyren turned to the children and stood up straight, then he held his knees and crouched down to there level without touching the ground. His head hung low and he stayed idel for a few seconds, then he jolted his head up and looked at the kids.

"Why are you two fighting?" he said sternly toned. "Normally model train isn't support to be in a kids hands." The bully looked toward his eyes and held his hands behind his back "U-um Caspian just wanted to, um, look at dad's toy train, but i wanted to take it back." he said quietly. "Nuh-uh! I wanted to take it back, you stole it!" The children continued to bicker until Wyren placed his hands on there shoulders, "Listen, you two should just return the train to your father. Standing here fighting about it won't change anything, it'll only make you get further apart from each other. Trust me I'd know, I have a brother too. Its going to be harder to make up with each other then to start the fight but you two still love each other right?" The boys both nod in unison, "So it's worth apologizing, right?" he asked again. They both nod while wiping tears off of there faces. "Go give that train back to your father and tell him what happened, I don't think he'll be too mad." Wyren finished, ending his conversation with the kids. The two children thanked Wyren and ran to find there father in the crowd of people. If it isn't broken. He thought to himself.

Wyren stretched, it felt good to help others, knowing you helped them out.

Acamen turned away from Wyatt to Roya and was immediately stopped by Beltari.
“Ah if it isn’t the bell of the ball. Get it? Because your name is Beltari and I used Bel. It’s a clever play on words I thought of last night.” Acamen chuckled to himself, a bit too amused by his own joke. His laughter stopped immediately as she stepped aside revealing the Gnoll. Acamen was a bit stuck in shock from the creature. They were so rare and definitely a marvel to behold. His eyes drifted down and spotted the letter in Beltari’s hand. He immediately recognized the seal on it and softened his expression.
“So Captain Boone sent you? That’s where he’s been hiding away all these years? Raising Gnoll pups? That definitely seems in his character.” he continued with a chuckle. “I’m guessing you’ve come to join our guild. What reason do you have for wanting to start this new chapter?” Acamen asked leaning on his cane a bit.

Roya slowly looked up at Acamen with smile, although it felt more like daggers being thrown. She listened to him and slowly thought about what to say next before he could run off,"Master….Your are fine, but I do hope that you at least enjoyed my alcohol, that you guys used for the drinking competition." Roya smiled sweetly even though she knew what would happen within a few hours. She had enchanted the alcohol to act like regular liquor, but after about 6-12, depends on how much you drink, the effects sling back on you stronger. It doesn't affect the alcohol you drank before just the portions of Triple Take. Roya sighed with relief knowing that karma would slap her guild master in the face within a few hours.

Roya turned to Wyatt,"Hello,"She waved at him and stood up from her seat,"I am Roya. I don't have much to say about my past, but I study crystals and enchantment. I understand controlling current is extremely hard. Am I correct in assuming that instead of just absorbing and redirecting electricity, you control the actual flow?" Roya turned and pulled one of the pendants out and handed it to him, along with a room key. Her own pendant was placed in the center of her bow.

Speechlessness came in two rounds. One being the while "bell of the ball" thing (added points for Acamen having to explain his joke.) Two, Luce's keen eye. Beltari had forgotten how observant Luce was and it was clearly coming back to bite her. Now the tiefling didn't only owe Luce her attendance to a loud, drunken party tonight, but she also owed Luce a days worth of customer service, for not being "helpful" this morning. As much as Beltari wanted to find an excuse and slip out of the crowd, she knew that Luce would somehow find out, and knowing Luce, she wouldn't just let that go unpunished. The last time Beltari went behind Luce's words and skipped a Guild Anniversary dinner, Luce un-organized all Beltari's books...Beltari shivered a bit.

The girl let out a sigh and turned back to the girl standing in front of her. In a small panic, Beltari stuffed all her things back into her bag and popped a lemon candy in her mouth. She offered the girl a candy. "Sorry about that. My name is Beltari. Your's is?" She tried to be professional about it, though she really just came off as a mess.
