Background: North’s parents were already fallen angels when she was born, making her a fallen angel at birth without giving her any choice in the matter. Her parents claimed to be homeschooling her, but they didn’t teach her anything useful. They controlled how long she got to stay out of the house, what she was allowed to wear, and what she was allowed to eat, because 'she doesn't know enough to make those choices herself'. So while they're out working (they’re both working parents), they told her it was fine to just play all day as long as she was back before dark, and sheds finished her homework and chores. They figured, if they kept giving her money and encouraging her to fool around, she'd never learn anything important, and be dependent on them forever, and theirs forever. One day she had a dream about a magical shrine in the clouds, where all the elders worked, going about their daily lives, each with their own craft. Beyond the shrine walls it was like a little town, and they didn't use money, everyone just traded for what they wanted using the old fashioned bartering system. So after that, North decided not to just play around any more. She decided to find the Shrine of the Elders. And that was how she found the old folks home; she couldn't remember the name the elders had given the town beyond the Shrine walls, but when she saw the name of that particular old folks home, she knew it was the one. Each elder, besides a few grumpy non-talkative ones, is teaching her a different skill. Pottery, cooking, baking, advanced math, self defence, vocabulary...and then there are other important things that aren't skills, like confidence, and how to make decisions faster in conversation. She still plays around a lot at other places, but she also makes sure to make plenty of time to consistently learn a bunch of new stuff from the elders.
