  • I'll put as much effort into helping you have fun with the RP as you put in to making your character. I'm not saying go bananas with character traits and stuff, but don't be afraid to contact me via DMs or the OOC, work out details about your character, and when you're done be sure you have an idea of where they want to go with their adventuring life. The better an idea you have about your character, the more I will be able to offer in terms of challenges, progression, and story involvement.

    Based on the poll, though it is difficult to judge as some who did not express interest still voted, most of you will be creating beginner adventurers which is fine. Much of the beginning will have your characters becoming familiar with Orario, looking to become stronger in their own ways, facing challenges, and perhaps feeling estranged from the higher-level dealings of the familia as they rarely have a place in such situations.

Goddess of the recently formed Badb Familia, having stolen her first three members in quick succession from the fallout of a war game between Athena Familia and the now disbanded Amun Familia. Using these three adventurers, one of whom was rumored to soon reach level 5, she quickly spread her name across the streets, purchased a property to base her familia in, and made clear that she was welcoming new adventurers by accepting several newcomers to Orario. Though not well known among mortals as she recently came down from Heaven, the other gods and goddesses show clear wariness in her presence, tightening lips and watching her every move. This contrasts heavily with the figure known to wander the streets and kindly intermingle with people, searching out connections, friends, and familia members, so talks about her have a heavy duality about them.

Though Badb's familia has yet to accomplish anything being younger than two months, there are many eyes focused specifically on the three flagship members that continuously dive deep into the dungeon together. With all the focus on those three, the care she puts into nurturing her less experienced familia members is neglected by many onlookers.

Those who spend a lot of time with Badb notice that she has a nasty habit of lying for no reason in particular, sowing false information in the minds of those around her with often no consistency in her story. Even when she's not lying, she hardly ever tells a straight truth, preferring vague words and speaking in ways with multiple interpretations. As she is often well-meaning and kind, this is typically taken as just a personality quirk of hers, much like the boisterousness or spitefulness of other gods.

She spends most of her time out in Orario, but often will cut time out of her day to attend to the needs of her familia members, and personally pays attention to all of their growths or walls they face.

Brought up in a normal-ish lifestyle, Kristina never experienced poverty but also never experienced the luxury of being rich beyond belief. On her 18th birthday, her father gifted her a special bow, a family heirloom. A recurve bow, made of a tough oak wood. She was so excited to receive such a gift as it was implied by her father that she was ready to be an adventurer. And so, Kristina set off and eventually joined up with the Amun familia where she experienced her first level, advancing to level 2. After the Familia disbanded, she was sniped into Badb's familia where she now resides and having recently learned a new skill.

Personality
A hardass on the outside, stubborn and loyal. She'll refuse to give up on even the toughest of enemies. Despite this, she's a heavy softie and will often be concerned about the well-being of her friends and familia to the point of putting herself in harm's way because of it.

She always enjoys a good challenge, putting her all into everything, she'll get rather disappointed if no challenge is presented. This has also caused an unintentional level up on her part.

Karen Lichexe
Well into her twenties at this point, Karen is a famous human mage popular for proving that elves do not hold absolute dominance in the domain of magic. Her flashy light magic leaves an impression on all bystanders, and before the disbanding of the Amun Familia was anticipated to be the familia's first level 5 adventurer. Perhaps fitting for a familia rumored to be cursed with bad luck, the war game had occurred while she and other strong members of the familia had started an expedition, leaving only the weaker members to defend their familia from the sudden - and many claim foul - declaration from the Athena Familia. While many were anticipating where Karen and other notable remnants of the Amun Familia would go, a sudden twist occurred as Karen and two of her other comrades joined with goddess Badb to form a new familia over half a month ago now. With such a peculiar development after an already nasty turn of events, many are watching her with scrutinous gazes, and once jokes are now turning to rumors that she may have been the cursed bearer of misfortune that brought down Amun Familia, and that Badb is next.

Karen is a kind but dull person, slow to react and small in her emotions. She looks after her friends to the best of her ability, though many who try to get to know her come to be astounded just how much her entire life revolves around the dungeon. Her closest friends joke that she doesn't know the definition of fun, or that she must have scratched it out in her personal dictionary to replace it with dungeon diving. In spite of being a mage she is well enough acquainted with physical combat, and has not been shy about offering pointers or involving herself where needed. Surprisingly, of the three core members of Badb Familia, she is the one to get in the most fights between fellow adventurers.

Curiously, her Alias has always been some reference to a tower or siege weapon, even before she obtained the relevant skills. Her current alias is "Bright Ballista"

Luminous Ray - a line of light that pierces all, known to be the most powerful direct attack spell in her arsenal and the spell that is the source of her current alias. When cast under certain conditions the ray is actually completely invisible as little to nothing refracts the fired light, though that rarely ever matters due to the instantaneous nature of the attack.
"Come, light. Weave yourself to one, and free yourself to there- let loose the bright chaos upon the fool, the heretic, and the demon. Let your path be straight and your destination certain so as all in the way might not have time to fear. There is nothing that can stop you, not man nor divine. Cast yourself now, and let those before you disappear."

Illuminant Sphere - a nova-type spell that likely is the reason for her reputation of being a front-line mage. Comparatively short cast time, a small but effective radius surrounding herself, devastating impact, and the possibility of lethal friendly fire make this both the most useful and the most dangerous of her spells. Though a worry when she first cast it, the spell does not damage herself. It is infinitely less effective against intelligent targets that learn to back away before it can finish casting.
"Sun above, your enemies walk here - let your shine purge them."

Crystal Shield - an earth-light hybrid spell giving her high resistance to attacks. When broken, the sharp shards are propelled out violently as though a last spite to the offender. Can only be cast on herself.
"Earth, bearer of life, do not let your child fall here. Shelter her in transparent crystal that she may still witness the outside world, and let none that would harm her walk free."

Sarah Gehring
Former captain of the Amun Familia, Sarah had been accompanying Karen and Brandr on an expedition led by the three with the purpose of giving less experienced and less powerful members the opportunity to safely train in floors much lower than they would normally be able to reach. They and the familia members they led returned to find their familia destroyed in a one-sided war game, and while some felt hopeless or lost others felt enraged at the cowardice that Athena Familia had displayed in refusing to face them at full strength.

Now captain of the Badb Familia with Karen as her vice-captain, Sarah has been working doubly as hard as before, and has even pulled a bit ahead of the dungeon-obsessed Karen. Occasionally her cheery self will shine through, but she spends much of her time now pensive, caught up in her thoughts. Missing jokes she would have laughed at before, lacking a sense of relaxation, and being oblivious to the needs and thoughts of those around her are small problems that she is often caught having. In spite of her preoccupied state, she still fulfills her role as captain well when she is needed, her knack for leadership shining through. When not in the dungeon she will occasionally be seen escorting Badb around Orario, white spear in hand.

Though she had previously been outshone by Karen, many are beginning to pay attention to her, taking note of her underappreciated abilities.

Her alias is "White Flash", a reference to both her white weapon and her speed based fighting style that takes advantage of momentum to land devastating blows.

Background: Hailing from the kingdom of Rakia, Andrew was born and raised to be a warrior much like his parents were. Like many children born in Rakia he was trained to be a fighter but the ruling Ares Familia with the propaganda of the god of war. He was born to be a warrior, to fight for glory, and to be destined for greatness. None of that really happened. Unlike the glorious tales told on the streets of the cities in Rakia, war was not glorious. Despite serving in one of the largest Familia's in the world and serving the supposed god of war Rakia suffered defeat after defeat. Andrew grew tired of the constant defeats and would eventually lose his taste for war. Combat and adventure still had its appeal, but not warfare.

As he lost his taste for warfare he started to pay more and more attention to the other nations around Rakia. One in particular drew his attention. The city of Orario, a place full of gods and mortals seeking to make a name for themselves. A place full of so many Familia's and most importantly a place full of adventure. The tales of the dungeon in particular caught his attention. Here was a massive area where adventurer's could fight hordes of monsters to build their strength. This wasn't a place of warfare, just pure combat and adventure. After thinking it over for a year Andrew finally decided to go ahead. Revoking his loyalty to the Ares Familia he fled Rakia as a deserter. The trip to Orario was rough but he would eventually make it.

When he would finally arrive to Orario it wasn't the golden beacon of hope he thought it would. Arriving in Orario he had little money and was tired from his travels. To make matters worse most Familia's either ignored or rejected him. It was only the goddess Badb, the goddess who was welcoming new arrivals in Orario to her Familia. After being welcomed in her swore that he would do his best in his service to her, both as a warrior and a child of the Familia. He may not be as strong as the flagship members but he wouldn't let that get him down.

Personality: Coming from his military background Andrew is a generally serious person. He is loyal and disciplined as well as a skilled fighter despite being only level 1. Still retaining a love of combat he loves to dive into the dungeon to earn both money and experience alongside the thrill of battle, but that love of combat only extends to monsters. Fighting other humans, elves, beastfolk, etc doesn't have the same spark as it once did. He will take the fights seriously and he will never back down from a sparing session but his heart just isn't in it anymore.

Weapon: Andrew has been trained to use a multitude of different weapons but his favored weapon is a broadsword that he switches between using it in a one handed or two handed style.
Armor: Andrew's personal preference for armor is chain metal. Something sturdy that can protect him but not something that weighs him down to much.

Brandr
Resident asshole that does in fact care, Brandr was a shield bearer, healer, and vice captain of Amun Familia before it was dissolved. In Badb familia he continues his roles as shield bearer and healer, though Karen has taken over his position of vice captain. Perhaps heavily armed for an adventurer who wasn't a dwarf, he sides with heavier armor and equipment to get the job done excluding his staff, which is small to keep out of the way when he needs to fight in melee. His weapon of choice is a morning star and his custom made shield a scutum previously emblazoned with a blazing white sun, now painted over with Badb's black raven. As is typical with adventurers the hardest hitters get praised the most, so he was glad when Badb picked him up as it would have been much harder for him than his other two companions to find a new familia to call home.

While Sarah is praised for her leadership, charisma, and power, and Karen is lauded as a prodigy, Brandr is appreciated by all those who know him for his reliability. The only thing holding him back from being somewhat popular is a poisonous tongue and a nasty attitude. Unlike Karen and now Sarah, Brandr is extraordinarily dispassionate about the dungeon with no burning desire to dive deeper in, a trait often seen as undesirable in adventurers. Various rumors float around about him, mumblings of a bitter past and a fallen city, as well as nasty dealings that he may be involved with.

Refreshing Breeze - A healing spell that affects a large area and has a better effect on those damaged by heat and fire. Not extraordinarily effective, but enough to get people back on their feet for a final stand or a retreat.
"Calm and cooling winds of Autumn, A relief from a sun so overbearing, Let yourself feel the caring brush on your face, Get up one last time to finish this never ending race."

Cailleach's Arms - An enchant spell that imbues all his equipment with a powerful frost attribute, freezing things that make contact and providing bonuses against heat and the fire attribute.
"I will carry this cold weight, Swing it to annihilate my enemies, Bear it to protect those behind me, The winter tolerates no flame and neither shall I."

Background:

Maxwell was grew up in a small mining village before he set out to become an Adventurer in order to help support his family. When he entered the city of Orario, Maxwell had the good fortune to be inducted into a Familia fairly quicly, allowing him to begin adventuring into the Dungeon right away. Unfortunately for the Half-Dwarf, most of his time spent in the Dungeon was as a monster's punching bag since his Familia members were more than happy to throw Maxwell in front of every single monster they came across. Eventually, Maxwell grew tired of the way his Familia members were treating him, so he left and went searching for a better Familia. Luckily, Maxwell was able to join the Badb Familia very recently and while the blue haired male is skeptical of the treatment he will receive in his new Familia, he is secretly hopeful that it will be an improvement when compared to his last one.

Personality:

Cowardly.
Maxwell is deathly afraid of monsters, other people and dying, so much so that he will try to find any potential alternative to avoiding any of these things. Though, when Maxwell is unable to avoid these three fears of his and is therefore forced to confront them, he will tend to freeze and lock up. In combat situations, this is surprisingly not fatal for the young man since he always has his shield to hide behind.

Insecure.
The young man’s confidence issues have been a long standing problem ever since his childhood years when his father admitted that Maxwell’s sister was his favorite offspring. Unfortunately, Maxwell’s self doubt and lack of faith in his own personal capabilities has only been enhanced since arriving in Orario. Now, the blue haired male has difficulty in accomplishing basic tasks without thinking that he has not failed in properly completing them. It is not unusual for Maxwell to question his choices aloud or for the young man to constantly compare himself to his peers.

Honest.
While it has only caused increased interaction with other individuals, Maxwell tends to be honest with both his words and his actions. Though, the reason for this behavior is purely selfish. It is Maxwell’s hope that if he refrains from stealing, cheating, lying and all other forms of dishonesty, people will leave him alone. The reason is entirely nonsensical, yet it is one Maxwell wholeheartedly believes in spite of all of the evidence to the contrary.

Loyal.
Even though he has a crippling fear of people, Maxwell detests disappointing them far more. He will always make an effort to maintain any friendships or commitments he has formed, especially when they are nothing but detrimental to Maxwell. It takes a substantial amount of time before the blue haired male finally decides to drop an unhealthy relationship or an arrangement that is disadvantageous for him.

Caring.
In his time spent avoiding other individuals as though they contain a highly contagious and deadly plague, Maxwell will listen in on their conversations and take note of their gripes. Then, Maxwell will try to alleviate some of the problems his allies’ have voiced in a manner that draws the least amount of attention to himself. Maxwell takes these actions because he truly does worry over the wellbeing of his friends and allies, even if he is terrified of them.

Morality:
Maxwell’s morality is skewed. He does still believe in the things that society seems to preach, yet the Half-Dwarf does not consider any of those principles to apply to himself. That doesn’t mean that Maxwell believes it would be okay to take sweets from a child, or that stabbing a random passerby is acceptable behavior. No, Maxwell thinks that anything bad, unfortunate or outright terrible is perfectly fine when it happens TO him. If you lie to Maxwell, he will think he did something to cause you to dislike him. If you steal from Maxwell, he will think that he had it coming. If you attempt to harm Maxwell, the guy will believe that he deserved it.

Etiquette:
You will be hard pressed to find Maxwell sit still long enough for a proper conversation, but in the rare event that you do find some sort of method to keep the blue haired male where he is, or if you corner him, Maxwell will do one of two things. Maxwell will either remain deathly quiet, speaking only when he is prompted to do so as he sweats buckets or Maxwell will begin babbling uncontrollably, talking at length about anything and everything that comes to mind. Thankfully, the second option only happens when Maxwell is caught completely by surprise.

Attitude:
Maxwell is a very quiet person that does his best to keep to himself and remain out of other individuals’ metaphorical and physical paths. The only time Maxwell goes against this behavior is when he takes time to assist his allies without their knowing, provided such an option is possible. Additionally, it is not unusual for Maxwell to prioritize the needs of others before his own.

Outlook On Life:

Maxwell has lived his entire life knowing, (believing), that he is everyone’s last choice. He is not happy about this arrangement yet Maxwell knows, (believes), that there is nothing he can do to change it. That is why Maxwell puts up with all of the complications, problems and issues thrown into his life.

Perception:
Maxwell tends to be optimistic whenever some activity, action or occurrence is involving any other individual aside from himself. It does not matter what that specific individual is capable of, Maxwell will choose to believe that good things will go their way. However, when Maxwell is faced with obstacles or a chance for something potentially beneficial to occur for himself, he will always be pessimistic. The young man does not believe that there is anything that will go in his favor. The world is out to get Maxwell.

Standpoint:
Maxwell does not enjoy the current position his life has led him to in the slightest. He truly believes that he has entered the start of the darkest part of his existence, a time that will not end.

Taboos:
Maxwell would never willingly betray an ally for ANY reason, even if that particular ally had been attempting to kill Maxwell or otherwise ruin his life.

Background: Sophia life was always laid out before her. She was to be a hunter just like her parents. But as she grew up she wanted a life a bit more exciting to her. One day her parents perished in a hunting accident and at that moment she finally had a chance. She decided to go to the city of Orario. Sophia tired to find a familia almost right away but got rejected at every turn. But of course no one was going to accept her all she had was the bow on her back and it wasn't even that special. She came across the Badb familia accidentally apparently it was a recent familia. She was afraid that she would be rejected but she wanted to know if she could join and to her surprise she was welcomed. She finally got the chance to prove herself and have a life of adventure. So whenever she is able, she is in the dungeon trying to improve. There were also other members that she would have to prove herself to. The last thing she wants is to disappoint anyone like she did her family.

Personality: Sophia is a loyal, willful and hardworking person but because of her lifestyle before the city she is kinda withdrawn. She has opened up a little bit to the familia members since she has arrived but not very much. She also gets a bit paranoid in battle. She thinks everything can and will go wrong but to her that’s what also makes it exciting.

Background:
Raised as the singular member of the Tsukuyomi familia, Shinsuke's life was not an easy one. Abandoned at a young age during a monster attack, he was taken in by the disgraced moon god and relentlessly trained in the art of combat. The god's expectations were extraordinarily high, and Shinsuke often failed to meet them, creating a need to prove himself. As he grew so did his desire to please his god, causing him to double his efforts and mirrored the god's style of striking hard, fast, and violently, then fading into the shadows once again. After Shinsuke had just reached level three, other Familia's from the east had learned of Tsukuyomi's presence in Orario, he was once again forced into hiding, leaving Shinsuke high and dry in order to protect the boy, Shinsuke did not take his second abandonment well and spent a year as an adventurer-for-hire to survive. Eventually he was picked up by the badb familia despite his rude nature and overcharged ego, despite these two turn offs his skills in the dungeon make up for his lacking character somewhat.

Personality:
Shinsuke is a rather annoying person in that he enjoys pushing buttons, a lot. Many flat out refuse to acknowledge him because of his deliberately irritating words and antics from feigned ignorance to flat out admitting to his pranks. Few people question why he does these things, many just chalk it up to him being a dick, but any who look past the ego and insults can recognize that what he does is classic attention seeking behavior. Desperate for any form of validation, Shinsuke will throw himself into fights and controversy in order to be noticed. His attitude barely changes in combat, mocking and taunting enemies in order to make them sloppy and easier to dispatch. His showboating is especially bad in fights, because he's skilled and he knows it, feeding his confidence even more.

Although he has a good handle on himself, cracks appear when times are dire or he is sufficiently angered. His personality does a complete 180, he becomes serious as well as focusing his inner aggression. Despite his tricksy nature, he still looks out for his familia members and cares, although he would never admit it.
