Chapter 2: A Vytal Mistake-Tournament Edition

As the man vanished into the crowd a loud noise could be heard as massive screens showed two hosts and a massive timer counting down. All teams were being called to assemble and get ready for the tournament as it was starting now. People began to rush towards the arena and the vendors all set up there scrolls. Wulfe was still focusing on the crowd looking for the massive man. Where there is one, there is another. And he was right about that. There was someone else watching them. Someone earthy and green, covered in wood and leaves. This person stood at a respectable distance. As people hit into them they said nothing and acted as if this person did not exist. This person was watching the tall man as well, but their intentions were not hostile. Eventually as the people left the area this person walked up to a vendor and spoke with a voice much like a sage "Excuse me sir" this older man spoke, the vendor turned and looked at him, he did not seem surprised by the forest looking man at all, he seemed a bit out of it actually. "What" the vendor says a bit snarky. The sage like man spoke in a low calming tone "Can you get me a bowl of noodles?" the man asks. The vendor shrugged and turned away to get what the guy asked for.

But as he turned his face went from a bit dazed to really confused. As if he had no idea what he was doing. The vendor turned back and saw the man, he jumped a bit and spoke "
Sorry was there something you needed?" the vendor asked, as if it was their first time seeing the man. The sage man smiled "No" and he began to walk away. The vendor watched for a moment, but as he did his head began to hurt and after a blink the sage like man had all but vanished. The vendor shook his head and heard the noises of the match starting "Must have dazed off, almost missed the game" The vendor says, acting as if the man he just saw never existed.

Inside the arena people were cheering and getting ready. The massive arena began to form as teams were spun on the screen. First up....

TEAM OGAO VS TEAM TRAK

Their biomes began to form as they entered the arena, locking onto a symbol of a black crystal and a city. The two sides of the arena began to form, one side was dark and pieces of rock were floating in the air as if there was no gravity there and the other side formed into a ruined city. This would be quite fun. As the contestants got to the center the announcers began to make some awful puns and eventually announced the two teams and the areas. The announcers were the Twins and JJ. The areas were called ruins and zero gravity. As they announced all that a timer flicked on.

3, 2, 1..... Fight.

Back at the arena, the small little ninja stood on her side of the arena, beside the pinkette, her partner. She stood facing the other team: Team TRAK. A team from Vacuo, that had some pretty unique characters. Three guys and a girl. Her red eyes quickly scanned her opponents. They seemed strong, but nothing would bother Greta. As a ninja, her outer shell was toughened to not be bothered by the appearances of her opponents. Even the most intimidating enemies would barely make her pause. She noted the way the environment changed around them. The floating rocks area was unique, but for her particular skills the ruined city would be where she would dart off to. The ruined city was where she would shine -so to speak. Greta's red eyes moved between each enemy, sizing them up; she attempted to figure out which she would best square off against. It was more tough to discern without knowing any of their strengths and weaknesses, but Greta did not wish to fight the girl. She was probably quicker than her fellow teammates. Slower opponents were easier for the ninja.

Standing beside the rest of Team OGAO, Orchid took a dragon's stance. She took one last look at Greta before she surveyed the environment for potential advantages and areas to cover. The terrain with the floating rocks would be unpredictable, but lightning wouldn't be affected by the lack of gravity as it wasn't matter. Fire was dubious, but probably followed the same pattern. Meanwhile, the ruins, she thought, had a great vantage point for her to blast flames from. What parts of these ruins were wooden - flammable?

Orchid avoided the eyes of this Team TRAK - Greta seemed good at casing foes, and Asuka must be as she was a swordswoman, but Orchid preferred areas. She determined that her first move would be, as always, to throw a punch, but it would probably be a launching punch rather than a damaging one. They were far away, so she didn't have much ability to corner them. Yet. A glint passed over her eyes as she prepared to give this team the dance of their lives.

The Vytal Tournament. Ever since Headmaster Flint had approached Olivia to join she had been beyond ecstatic. It was a chance to prove herself, to make up for the failures that stained her, both at Beacon and before it. The thing is, she had thought her team would be all make it here together. Instead it was just her, a strange wolf with an entirely new team. How many teams had she gone through at this point? Three? Four? Naturally the pup heard the rumors circling Beacon, of the one eyed wolf who would lose her entire team every month or so. The loss of Team OKAL had been a sudden, painful surprise for Olivia. Lilith simply disappeared along with Peggy, probably due to Peggy's health problems. Krov was taken from the team to replace Lilla on Team INJL, coming as a double blow to her as she had lost one friend and one teammate in a single stroke. Perhaps worst of all was Amber. It seemed the life of a Huntsman simply wasn't for him, and he was leaving to go back with his uncle. It was a tearful parting, and they promised to stay in touch. Even still, Olivia felt the crushing weight of isolation crashing down upon her, and before she even had time to comprehend what happened she found herself in charge of another team.

All in all it looked to be a great team. Olivia had met Orchid before, a kind enough girl incredibly skilled in the use of Dust. Then there was Greta, an honest to Essence ninja. Finally there was Asuka, a stubborn, headstrong girl who was a skilled close combat specialist much like Olivia herself. A powerful group, if somewhat lacking in staying power. None of them were exceptionally tough. Mobility and devastating attacks would be their best chance. It didn't help that as team leader she was the outsider of the group. There were no true bonds between Olivia and her team, and she doubted her words would carry much weight. Still, she was their leader. It was her duty to protect them, to guide them to victory. Tch, cause I have a great track record with that...

"Alright team, ugh, keep on your toes and don't get tied down. We need to hit hard and fast, don't give them a chance to hit back! And try and stay in pairs please? D-don't get cut off from the team. So... L-let's kick some people in the rear!"

Not giving any thought to her 'motivating' speech, Olivia formed Long Thorn, notching an earth dust laced arrow before shooting at a large boulder floating in the anti-grav zone. The force of the impact would launch the rock right into Team TRAK, hopefully scattering them and giving Team OKAL... Er, OGAO to strike.

Greta listened to her new team leader. Frankly it was a bit distracting to hear this new girl shouting orders to her. Ninja were taught to not be comfortable, and to adapt easily to new situations. This was no different. Still... she glanced at her new leader. The other Faunus girl seemed slow to take charge. Her words weren't really said with much conviction, instead masking uncertainty. Understandable, since she had lost her team so recently. Greta wondered about their new leader. Could she prove to be a good leader? A good ally? The pairs thing... the small girl glanced beside at her partner: Orchid. Should she stick with her, or should she attempt to "partner up" with this leader of theirs? Just to see if their leader possessed the skills necessary to well -lead them. Unraveling her chain, Sasuke, it clanged against the ground. She gave it a few spins watching Olivia make the first attack.

Ivory Skye

From the sidelines, Skye watched intently. Apart of her ached for Olivia, knowing the outgoing little wolf would be hurting within. She knew all these changes in team members were getting to her. 'Hang in there wolf,' she thought firmly. Skye had no doubt that Olivia and her new team could defeat these other people. Even if it didn't go well, she had faith that Olivia would pull her new team through, even if her team would fail her.

TEAM TRAK

"Ready?" Tori said looking at each of his teammates. Auel, Ric and Kira, all nodded in unison as the four walked out onto the arena. As the twins made their announcement, each of the four locked onto their individual targets. Auel stared at Greta, transforming his weapon into twin pronged energy staff. Tori readied his twin gunblades, locking eyes with Olivia, Ric with Orchid, and lastly, Kira, who locked eyes with Asuka, and gave a friendly smirk, her long time friend, raising her left arm, as her gauntlet transformed into twin barrels.

"Remember. Coordinate our attacks." Auel cautioned.

3, 2, 1..... Fight.

Auel, Tori, and Kira all charged, whereas Ric used his semblance to propelling himself onto the highest point within the ruined city biome, his weapon extending into a sniper rifle, as he provided supressive fire against his target, Orchid.

"Dodge!" Tori ordered.

Tori and Kira scattered to evade the rock speeding towards them, with Tori using his semblance to accelerate his speed, charging head on with Olivia. Auel dodged the oncoming rock, before jumping high into the air and aimed the two energy blades at Greta. Kira pointed Noire on her left arm, fire off a few blind shots at OGAO.

Asuka

3, 2, 1..... Fight.

Asuka unsheathed night shade, deflecting a stray bullet coming her way, locking eyes with Kira. She'll let the others handle themselves. Standing her ground, Asuka stopped moving, waiting for Kira's next move.

Sitting in the stands, Joshua watched as the fight between the newly minted team OGAO and TRAK began. Still, he thought about the issue that Olivia must be grappling with; she had gone through three teams up until now and it must have taken a toll on her psyche. However, the fact that she was willing to help Joshua with his own issues said something about her as well. The issue of the dance night weighed heavily on his mind about what both Allison and that hooded figure had said. Joshua decided though to push those thoughts out of his mind and focus on watching the battle between the two teams.

As soon as the "FIGHT" sounded, Orchid launched herself into the air with a punch of gravity dust, rocketing above bullets and towards the man who must be Ric. Her elbow was out, ready to swing. The highest point on the ruined city was a burnt-out apartment building, windows open holes and steel beams exposed. Orchid moved her wrist slightly. Fire engulfed her fist.

Ric was probably grinning as her wide arc fell short of the apartment's roof and bullets grazed her pink-flashing aura. That was okay, she thought as her momentum dragged her down to the framing of the top floor. Her feet nowhere near the floor, she slammed her arm towards the steel.

The framing melted, and Orchid sailed through the window to land in a semblance-enhanced roll on the ground. It wasn't enough to fell the house, but one or two more, and Ric would find his position mighty unstable. Orchid got up from her roll, flashed her opponent an innocent smile, and ran in a jagged path towards the apartment building. Every so often, she'd jab a quick burst of fire up at him. Just in case he forgot about her over here.

Seeing the boulder didn't deter her opponents, Olivia focused her attention on the boy charging head on at her, moving at astounding speed. A small smile formed on Olivia's lips, he wasn't the only one who was quick. "Make sure to watch each others backs new friends!" Pouring a vial of green dust into her amulet, a gust of wind swirled around the wolf, and she launched herself into the anit-grav portion of the arena, unleashing multiple arrows at her foe, the fire-laced arrow heads exploding as they struck around him.

To keep herself from being pinned down, Olivia continued launching herself between the floating boulders in the area, making her a difficult target to hit. Of course it didn't exactly help her aim, but hopefully it would keep the purple haired boy on his toes and give herself an opprotunity to spot an opening, whether it be against him or one of his teammates.

Greta noticed first how her teammates all seemed to switch gears, leaping immediately into the thick of it, but direct confrontation was not her strong suit. She was not one for the spotlight, so to speak. Orchid leaped after the sniper -a bold choice. Greta, herself, figured she'd be the prime one to attack a sniper -he'd never see her coming. Yet, her partner already had her sights on taking him out, so best not get in the way. -Just yet, anyways. For now, she'd focus on her "opponent"; the one who seemed to choose her to attack. Olivia was leaping around, making herself a hard target to pin down. Much the same sort of strategy Greta employed.

The city portion of the map was perfect for Greta. She was literally built for the subterfuge-type style within its walls. She leaped back out of his range, then the little panther skid backwards, gave him one look before skittering behind some buildings and promptly disappearing.

Satochi slowed his pace, deciding to take his time getting to the tower. It wasn't like they were being timed or anything. At least, that's what he thought. He breathed a calm sigh as he listened to the peaceful noises of nature, with no Grimm insight. Still, he knew he would have to fight at some point, especially once he reached the tower. As he pushed onward, he struggled to pass through a bush, making many rustling noises as he cleared it to the other side. Upon exit was an unfortunate situation: a hunting pack of five Beowolves led by an alpha stood there watching as they devoured their recent kill, evil eyes fixed to Sato. "Well, my peaceful morning's over," he said to himself. He attempted to make his way around slowly, but the Grimm slowly approached, fangs bared and stained with blood. There was no getting out of this. Sato readied his weapons as one of the lesser Beowolves charged, only to be gunned down immediately after. Two more pounced at him as he leapt into the air in response, firing down at the Grimm. A fourth lesser knocked him out of the air, but Sato quickly recovered as it gave chase. Transforming his weapons from hand cannon to long knife mode, he deflected swipes and strikes as another Beowolf came from behind in a flanking attempt. Sato ducked down, causing the two Grimm to collide with on each another as the last lesser charged at him, in which he deftly stood aside as he dragged his knife along its body, dissolving into nothingness when it passed. As the remaining two lesser Grimm got back up, Satochi dashed between them, cutting each in half. It was now the alpha's turn. The Hunter-in-training was able to block its attacks, but the Alpha was able to knock him back, disarming him of his weapons. He stood back up as the Alpha ran at him, taking a deep breath as he circled his arms around the front of his body. The Alpha Beowolf punched at Sato as he immediately thrust out his palm, making contact with the beast's paw, his Aura protecting his hand from being pierced through. A shockwave upped through the Grimm's arm, which then burst into nothingness. It clutched at its stump, glaring at Sato before he kicked it with a flying roundhouse, getting sentenced flying into the tree line, dead. The battle was over. Sato, a bit short of breath, gathered his weapons as he continued onward. He had to have been getting close.
