Whisper collected her thoughts. It was week 43. The scientists had been getting more and more careless with them. She banged her hand against the cage. "Let us out!" she screeched. A din of eachoing footsteps drew nearer. A scientist in a long black labcoat hauled another expiriment by. He must have been new because he only had one disformity. A black scorpian tail. Whisper flapped her indigo raven wings angrily as another person was brought in. But this one was fresh, normal. The scientist brought them towards her, perfect, someone to live with. What were the scientists going to do to her next? Cat ears, a snake tongue? And why were the men doing this to them? No one knew. No one would ever know. They were caged.
