Being a cloudless evening the full moon was in view casting over the town square, where a little cafe perched itself between two other businesses within a strip of buildings. The name was displayed with such artful detail, welcoming guests only with reservations that were near impossible to come by. The windows were dressed in red velvet curtains hiding its insides where the selected guests would dine, drink, and be catered by its unique servers. A host cafe, specifically meant for the female clientele, with most of the men in the prime of their youth where they flirted and serenaded their female guests. Newcomers would have a host selected at random or requested if asked where they devoted their timed sessions with these ladies, many if not all coming from esteemed backgrounds with plenty of wealth to waste.

This wasn't an issue for Sally Belfeln since she came from a prosperous background herself; her family paid for all of her needs from tuition to living expenses complete with a generous monthly allowance. She had just entered her second year at her University, a college with a strict policy of no relationships and no part time jobs so the students may be without reason or excuse to not spend their free time on their studies. Her school even went as far as requiring them to live in their dorms to be kept an even closer eye on. Disobedience to these strict rules meant expulsion if not completely kicked out altogether. She was majoring in literature and mythology, books being her life and her love. Because of this Sally didn't have time for relationships either, her nose always in a novel.

However, she did have one guilty pleasure, a confidential secret, if you may. She had an infatuation for people with glasses, the main theme of the cafe she achieved a reservation for from her personal outside source. For reasons unknown to even herself she had always been drawn to those who wore any shape or size of spectacles. Who really knows the origins of their fetishes, anyway? So when she heard mention of this unique harem business of men who wore glasses giving their undivided attention to their guests, Sally all but jumped at the chance to score a reservation herself despite the difficulty there was to obtain it. She had no intention of dating or even flirting, just quaint conversation with some eye candy over a glass of wine or a cup of coffee.

Sally waited patiently for the head hostess to seat her, a woman named Madam Valeria who owned the cafe also sporting a pair of frames herself. As Sally was guided through the slightly dimmed establishment she could already see plush round booths, each with a woman or two paired with a male host all sporting their own style of glasses. Not one male in there didn't have a pair and Sally had to force herself not to stare too long. Some booths even had curtains drawn down for privacy, though it probably cost extra.

Taking her seat and menu Sally was asked if she had any requests and given recommendations. Being a newcomer she declined, but requested a glass of champagne to start the evening. With a smile and a bow from the head hostess Sally was left with herself for a brief moment to look over her menu, one side featuring beverages and pastries and the other, much to her surprise, a menu of the types of hosts that could be of service to her. The list had men of different hair and eye colors, personality types, heights, and so one. Sally noticed and read the rules beneath the host options, wording them out loud to herself without a sound:

◇Please do not use your phone when the host is present.

◇Do not take photos with nor of the host.

◇You may not touch the host without permission.

◇If you are not satisfied with your current host you may request another for the remainder of your time with no extra charge.

◇Disrespect of any sort is not permitted. Your membership will be revoked and could also lead to banishment of Café Megane.

◇There are no refunds. All prices final.

With the tip of her index she traced each rule with her finger in an effort to memorize them. It was all so well organized and thorough but she noticed one thing that wasn't mentioned that made Sally tap her lips in curiosity. 'Do the hosts not get to decline any client who requests them?'

Checking her phone of the time almost out of habit, Sally crossed one hosed leg over the other and adjusted the skirt of the black cocktail dress that clung to her body, the required dress code being business casual to formal for all guests. Using the front camera of her phone she did a quick check of her profile as she waited before slipping it back into her small leather purse. She placed her hands neatly in her lap while she stared at the flickering flame of the candle centerpiece on the white clothed table with hazel eyes. For a split second there was a moment of hesitation. Was this all really necessary? She could always see people on the streets or at school or her local library sporting her favorite eyewear and it wouldn't cost her a dime nor would she need to go to such great lengths. Maybe it was because the boys here would give her their attention since she wasn't allowed to pursue a real relationship, or perhaps she was trying to fill some kind of void that made her life a little empty.

Soon enough though her doubts drained from her thoughts as Sally looked up to see her host, one of the many of Café Megane.
