Realistic or Modern Boys Basketball Meets Girls Basketball

Suzumaki Arakai

ロロノア・ゾロ
Hello and Welcome!

Alright, I haven't really made an RP in a long time, so try to bear with me on things I may have missed. This RP takes place in Tokyo, Japan and revolves around two make-believe schools called Kokuja and Jindai High. It'll start with all of our characters participating in the basketball tryouts a month or so into school. The only thing different about this year's tryouts is that all around the nation boys and girls clubs have been merged together - meaning there are no longer differing titles such as 'the boys basketball team' or 'the girls basketball team'. It's just the basketball team. The year is 2016, and the first day of school was on April 6th. We will be starting from May 5th. Now, the RP isn't only going to take place at the schools. In fact, all class time will be cut out because it just kills RPs as I've once talked about with a friend. The only time we'll RP our characters at school is during Lunch and basketball practice. Kokuja High and Jindai High have been known as rivals since forever ago, so all of the students pretty much hate each other - depending. For more information, scroll up just a tad and click on the Overview.

We have now started! The date is May 5th, 2016 - A Thursday. School is just ending, so all students should be leaving homeroom and making their way to the gym to participate in the tryouts and work for a spot on the team. It doesn't really matter who's in whose classes - you guys can work that out in OOC if you'd like. Character additions will be accepted until the first actual game is played in the RP. All managers have already been chosen for the team, so the coaches and managers probably already know each other.

Also, please do not post OOC in the IC tab. I'll hit you if you do.

Hikari Miyagi (Shooting Guard)

School: Kokuja | Location: Classroom > Getting stolen by grumpy teachers | Interacting/Mentioned: Art Teacher, Ichirou

"Come on. Come on. Come on... Hurry up!!" Miyagi's thoughts urged the minute hand of the clock. Her eyes were narrowed up at the timekeeper as though deeming it suspicious, and she speedily tapped her foot against the floor, catching a few irritated glances from other students within the classroom. "Since when does five minutes last this long!?" She screamed out on the inside, clutching the sides of her desk. It almost looked like she was about to launch it across the room - and the kid beside her noticed, opening his eyes wide while staring at her through his peripheral.

Before the bell even rang, a few students could already be seen packing their things up, half of them not even wearing their school uniforms. Normally Miyagi doesn't wear her's either, but she felt the need to do as supposed to today, thinking that Santa would reward her with an early Christmas present and allow her a spot on the basketball team. She's not too excited about the clubs being switched to co-ed, but at the same time she's feeling pretty hyped about whoopin' some male ass. The thought of it struck a cheeky grin on her face, and the boy beside her let out a laugh and decided to try striking up conversation - but right as he did, the bell finally rang and Miyagi was out of the classroom like a light.
"Move, move, move!!! Got tryouts to get to!" Calm down, woman, you're not running late so take your time.

She darted around the nearest corner, paying no attention to one of the teacher's reflections in the circular mirror on the wall near the ceiling - its purpose being to prevent people from running into each other. I guess it's pretty useless when students like Miyagi are in the school, though. As soon as she made the turn, she found herself falling right into Mr. Ichiyama's arms - Kokuja's ruthless art teacher. The smell of his aftershave crowded her nose and she held her breath.
"Oh no..." She winced upon realizing how much of a pain this incident is going to be to get out of. Before she could even attempt to talk her way out of a lecture or pretend the collision never even happened, he gripped her arm tightly and began dragging her down the hall in the opposite direction of which she had been running before. "N-nooo! Ichiyama Sensei, wait! I- I have to get to tryouts!"

"Then I guess you should've thought about that before running in the halls." He said in a matter-of-fact tone, brushing a hand through his thinning hair. Miyagi's jaw just dropped and she looked around as though waiting for someone to speak the words for her, then:
"I was! I was thinking about it! That's why I was running in the halls!" Passing by was Kimura Ichirou, an annoying pervert who claims to have slept with every girl in his third year middle school math class. He had an amused grin slapped across his face as he watched Miyagi get taken away, "Sayonaraaaa~" He mouthed the farewell and turned away with a laugh before making his way out of the school and to the gym, a black duffel bag slung over his shoulder.

Keigari 'Kota' Dakota (Center)

School: Jindai | Location: Classroom > Gym | Interacting/Mentioned: Anyone in the Gym

Kota leaned forward on his desk with the eraser of his pencil pressing against his bottom lip. While it seemed like he was looking down, his gaze was turned upwards towards the front of the class where the homeroom teacher stood rambling on about what she did over the summer. I swear, teachers have no sense of what you should and shouldn't talk about. Like, no one cares that a fish somehow got stuck in her bikini bottom. When their eyes suddenly made contact with each other, he cursed under his breath. "Ah, Keigari-kun. could you stop by the office and hand in these papers for me? You're going to be heading to tryouts, right?" She asked with a smile, straightening out the stack of pointless surveys.

Dakota stood up with a smile, picking up his bag and throwing it around his shoulder before allowing his pencil to slip into his back pocket,
"Absolutely." He slowly made his way up to the front of the room and took the papers. Instead of waiting for the bell, he went ahead and left - in which his smile turned into a bit of a glare once he was out of sight. "Do it yourself next time. You're the one getting paid to work here. Not me." He thought to himself, casually strolling through the halls towards the office. By the time he finally handed in the papers, the bell had already rang, causing students and other people deemed nuisances to crowd the halls.

Dakota decided to wait until a clear path was cut for him so that he could avoid shoving through the other students. Making it to the tryouts early just didn't seem worth the struggle. Once able, he started down the corridor without a care. He pulled a set of comfy head phones from his bag and placed them over his ears, allowing his music to drown out the commotion. As he walked, his eyes darted around as though looking for someone. A few people passing by sent him waves - and after noticing he was listening to music, they began mouthing random words to make him think they were actually talking to him. He forced another smile and waved them off with while shaking his head.
"Idiots." Once he was at the gym, he escaped to the boy's locker room and began changing into a pair of baggy black shorts, black man-leggings beneath them that reach just a bit past his knees, and a dark-blue fitted t-shirt with a pair of gray Jordan's.

It had almost been a month since the new school year started and Mai had been enjoying it. She had arrived three days after school had started because her parents had something's to talk to the principle about. When she did arrive on her first day she was a little nervous. The moment she introduced herself in front of her home room class people recognized who she was. She had a lot of the students asking her questions. So her first day turned out great. She even made some friends. Even though she's in school she still has to keep up with her acting job.

Mai was sitting class thinking about the tryouts going on after school. Her parents told her she could join a club as long as she didn't neglect everything else. She decided she wanted to join a sports team. She thought it could be fun. That and a friend of her's was doing it. She was going to try out for basket ball. Actually she hadn't played in a while not since she was kid. She's not even sure if she's really good enough to get in. But either way she was excited. She wasn't really paying attention to what the teacher was saying she just looked out at the window daydreaming. Then the bell rung and snapped her out from the daydream. "Huh...Oh!" She stood up and walked out of the classroom and headed out to the hall.

As she walked down the hall she fiddled with her locket. It was a quirk of hers. "Let's see I think I'm suppose to head to the gym." She said to herself as she walked down the hall. Her first week at school she had a hard time getting down the hall cause her fans would swarm her. Now everyone gotten use to seeing her around so it didn't happen as much now. When she finally reached the gym she looked around to see if anyone was there yet. "Huh? Guess no one is here yet."

Shinohara Natsuki | Jindai

Status: just arrived at the gym, somewhat breathless from her incredibly dangerous journey from the dungeon of the fire-breathing enchantress. Open for interaction.

A strange voiced echoed throughout the gym, calling Natsuki's name angrily.
That's odd, Natsuki murmured softly, who is that? The voice is awfully familiar

Suddenly, the buzzer sounded loudly, signaling the end of the third quarter. Momentarily shifting her focus from the bizarre voice that had been calling her name, Suki wiped a bead of sweat from her forehead, and turned to face the scoreboard. It was the end of the third quarter, and Jindai was currently down by seventeen points. They had been struggling for dominance the entire game, though their efforts had yet to prove effective.

✽ ✽ ✽

As Suki lined up yet again for the start of the fourth quarter, she experienced an unexpected burst of energy surge through her body, relieving her of her aching muscles. With one swift motion, Suki felt the heel of her foot leave the floor as she soared through the air, delivering a mesmerizing dunk over the head of her defender. Suki knew she was somewhat tall for the average girl, but never thought she would be anywhere near tall enough to dunk. Smiling triumphantly, Suki proceeded to complete a series of difficult, close to impossible shots from all different angles, and score the winning half-court shot. As the buzzer signaled the end of the fourth quarter, a crowd of ecstatic team members rushed to her side, chanting her name proudly and carrying her on their shoulders; yet, the only thing on Suki's mind was…

"Melon bread… So fluffy," Suki giggled, drooling onto her desk. With a smooth flick of the wrist, Ms. Nakamura had, with perfect form, shot a three-pointer… Right onto Suki's forehead, with a purple dry-erase marker. Suki’s head shot up, though she didn't dare meet the eyes of the demon in front of her. Even without lifting her to the she-devil, Suki could feel the killer aura radiating from Ms. Nakamura. As soon as Ms. Nakamura had opened her mouth to scold, it had been made apparent who the angry voice in her daydreams belonged to.

"Melon bread, eh?" Just the threatening tone she used sent chills down Suki's spine. "Shinohara Natsuki, to think that you would have the nerve to sleep in my class. My class, of all places," Ms. Nakamura roared, momentarily transforming into the three-headed dog of Hell, Cerberus. It was as if she had three mouths to angrily rant out of, and none of them at all forgiving. With lasers shooting out of her eyes and fire pouring out from between her lips, Ms. Nakamura was far more intimidating than any three-heading dogs, dragons, or even beasts that Suki had ever encountered--and Suki had encountered quite a few. After all, Tokyo was known for its fire-breathing creatures, duh. Well, at least in Suki’s head, that’s how history came to be. The things they taught in history class? Lies, fabricated by the goverment.

✽ ✽ ✽

“Yes, Ms. Nakamura. Yes, I understand. Can I go n--”

Excuse me? Was I finished? Now, since I am ever so kind, generous, and forgiving, you may leave; however, fall asleep in my class again, and you won’t live to eat another bite of melon bread, ever again," Ms. Nakamura replied, a not-so-friendly, blood-curling smile on her face.

Natsuki had stayed after class for almost an hour, repenting on her knees with a stack of heavy textbooks placed onto her head. Although her arms had gotten sore after merely five minutes, Suki didn’t dare remove them from the books for fear that: one, they would become unbalanced and ultimately fall on top of her, and two, she was afraid of the dire consequences that would follow.

Racing to the gym, Suki had gotten dressed so quickly that any bystanders would’ve thought a tornado had passed through. Suki had changed into a graphic tee of Doraemon playing basketball in a Lakers jersey, simple black running shorts, and a pair of her old, beaten up track sneakers. Although she wasn’t a particularly big fan of the Lakers’, Suki was a rather huge fan of Doraemon.
Besides, what better way is there to get hyped, right?

Johnathan Stone

Jindai gym

Shooting guard

John opened the doors to the gym and slowly walked in. He was still nervous about joining the team, since he had only been at this school for a few months. Plus he wasn't born in Japan, but basketball was an addiction twords John. School sure is different here than in America, the classrooms looked almost identical and don't get him started on those awkward school uniforms.

It's suprising that John got accepted into Jindai in the first place since he isn't from a rich family, and he gets average grades. Maybe it's because he's good at basketball, but he doubts they'll tell him that. At least it's better than going to that other school that he forgot the name of. Pulling himself out of his own thoughts John went into a nearby bathroom to change into a loose fitting tank top that had basketball written out in english plastered on the front. He also put on some blue shorts, and blue sneakers that were a little worn out, but they still had grip to them.

After leaving the bathroom John began to streatch out his arms and legs. While doing so he looked around the gym to see the other players. 'Coed teams huh?' He thought to himself as he stretched out alone.
