Carnation allowed herself a few seconds to prance. To gambol, to caper, and all that.

"Heh. Many thanks, Anemone."

This was not the first time she had been subject to Anemone's ability, though it was yet something she had gotten used to. She could close the distance in a few steps just like that, but that was hardly the most enjoyable use of the few minutes they had like this.

The physique of a Flower's transformed form could attain impressive feats, and turning a cartwheel was well within the limits of possibility for any of them. But now it was even easier, barely more difficult than lifting her arm above her head.

Turning side-on to her target, she whipped into a cartwheel, growling her under breath with the exertion. The moment her foot touched the ground again, she kicked off, pushing herself into a higher jump. A slight rotation to turn to face the fully-consumed man, a tuck into a somersault.

She arched backwards, spear firmly gripped in her hand, poised like a scalpel to excise gangrenous flesh. Or perhaps a rotting portion of a fruit.

The growl rose in her throat and erupted into a glass-shaking bark as she plunged her spear into the big Fragment's exposed side, slamming down on her front foot.

The creature was wounded and distracted, perfect for Lily or Foxglove to follow up.

return to happiness...

Once she was given the direction to support Foxglove, her free hand pulled out her other weapon, flames engulfing the two and burning brightly. She took deep breaths, breathing in the flames shrunk, and as she slowly breathed out, the fire grew bigger and brighter around her sword as she looked around the warehouse, looking at what would be flammable and what wouldn’t be.

Foxglove would transform he would head into one section of the warehouse and Lily would run in another direction, leaving a slight trail of flames behind them as they would throw themself into the mist of a group of Fragments.

Most of their sword skill came from their actual knife skills. Quick precision cut, like they were trimming fat off a slice of meat, a swirl of heat as they would swiftly cut down fragments around them, unmoving from one place, letting them come to themself rather than moving around too much and risk a true fire starting.

Spinning around in a circle, they made wide circular cuts, fire lashing out and clinging onto fragments as they began to real back from the intense heat. The swords were nothing more than an extension of her own body, yet that was until her guard was down and a fragment would knock a single blade out of her hand. Yet that is why they would duel wield, grabbing the fragment as soon, as their hand was a blaze once more and the creature was burnt to a crisp in a ball of fire.

Yet as one was cut down, it seemed that more would replace them, and something more efficient needed to be done. While control of the fire was trickier, it had to be done. The flaming blade in their hands would fizz out, and be sheathed away, her hands coming together, palms facing each other as she began to move them around in a circular motion, a ball of fire being created.

Just as they would try and jump them as they were focused on the heat and control of their fire, they slammed then decently sized fireball to the ground, bursting out from them a pillar of flames, the large group of fragments around them flamed, the flame whipping out, catching fragments and random boxes a blaze, their fear coming true but a sizeable amount of the fragments in Lily’s half now dealt with.

Now to deal with controlling the fire as it tried to break free from their control. Lily pulled out the single blade they still had in hand, spinning it around as the fire that had set boxes a blaze began to lean back to the flame puller that nearly touched the top of the warehouse, leaving soem boxes charred at best, crumbling at worse, and Lily held their breath. And like a roaring fire being smothered, the pillar began to slowly die down.

They could fight with the best of them, but not because they wanted to. With what mess their family was in, learning to fight became a necessity, and when they started, they were bad, but Lily was dedicated and got better. Glancing over to Foxglove, it was clear that he was more familiar with fighting than what they began with but still, being a flower might be more intense than what the others were used to.

“How are you holding up Foxglove?”
They called out, still surrounded by fire but it was definitely much smaller than when it started.

it is what it is

ginger park

Of course this weaponized sashimi is going to start moving again, what can't it do?

Crown Imperial is only a small, little bud in a bouquet of flowers. Yet this battle is already making them, rather Gunay the civilian, shrivel up in embarrassment. Though they were able to pin the Fragment's fins down its back, its lower cannons were still free to launch its explosives. First, it interrupted Kinabulu by firing at Aconite. Then, it rolled over to once again cause havoc in the park.

Despite still being attached to the Fragment, they miraculously didn't get crushed by its massive body thanks to its fins protecting them. However, they're starting to get motion sick from all this thrashing, reaching their limit of what they're currently capable of. If they can't find a way to finish this quickly, they're not sure if they can continue fighting.

Crown Imperial initially wanted to take those out first, since they're the main reasons it could run so fast. But considering the Fragment's stubbornness, it wouldn't be surprising if it launches itself like a jetpack. They were also confused as to why Kinabulu started piercing its sides with her daggers, since they thought that it was too small for an opening. But wait... she might she be onto something by prying on its stomach.

If pinning its fins down wasn't enough to stop it, what if they're on the ground? The Fragment prepares to charge against the nearest playground. As it quickly flipped over, the Flower detached the roots from its body and prepared for it to land on its side. The plan was almost a complete failure, as the Fragment used its lower canons to propel itself again. But they barely managed to ingrain themselves on the road, restraining the monster with its full belly on display.

Suddenly, they hear an explosion coming from behind, where the Fragment's chin was supposed to be. Its thundering roar pierces their ears, until it quickly shut itself up and thuds its head. Crown Imperial holds their breath in case it does something unpredictable, but the more they held on, the more positive they were about its unconsciousness. That... was probably the most grave attack that landed on it after many screwups (thanks to yours truly). Still, it's only a matter of time before it rampages again.

"Aim for the stomach!" they shouted, echoing Kinabulu's statement before that "pinball" incident.

And Crabapple does just that. Up until this point, the Fragment was able to free itself from any given obstacle due to its sheer ferocity. Now that it's knocked out, the more experienced Flower is free to hit the enemy at any given moment. Crabapple pummeled its abdomen as magic particles poured out of its injuries, taking advantage of Aconite's song of empowerment as much as they could. Eventually, the swing of their bat came to a halt and the Fragment shrinks further and further, marking the return of the human before their transformation.

It's over. One of the many battles they have to fight for the next five years is finally over. Crown Imperial is most likely going to be scolded by the senior members for their reckless actions, but they have no choice except to stand ground and face the consequences of their behavior. The magician falls on their back alongside the former Fragment, staring aimlessly at the sky. Their breaths are heavy, and their body aches from the bruises and wounds sustained during the intense confrontation.

"Please... I need a minute," Crown Imperial mumbled.

Rafflesia
Status: Annoyed and thrilled, mostly uninjured.

Mariana wondered if the gold eyed girl with black had a death wish. Charging a fragment that Rafflesia herself was attacking with reckless abandon. A creature that just had a multi-ton anchor thrown at it. A creature Rafflesia was barreling towards once again. What an idiot. She already didn’t like this girl. At least the girl with the butterfly shield wasn’t putting her body in the way, so Rafflesia didn’t have to be careful about hurting someone. But this girl frustrated her. The pieces of fragment fell towards the girl she was annoyed with and she rolled out of the way.

The other yelled at her, and raised a weapon at her, threateningly. She just smiled, and reached out to touch the blade with her hand, cutting her pointer finger on the blade, where a dark red and black liquid started to leak from her skin. She brought it back up to her mouth and sucked on the blood which welled on the surface.

“Probably to you~”

She told Nymphaea with a wink and her signature sadistic smile. Her face fell when the weapon was lowered however.

“Aww, you’re no fun.”

She huffed. Rafflesia decided to follow the others out of the tunnel and up onto the street. Her tentacles retreated back into the holes and back up into her skirt, disappearing from sight under her clothing. She seemed to have no more interest in the human or pieces of the fragments still in the tunnel behind her. Rafflesia stayed near the back of the group, simply listening to the others talk to one another.

Once the door was opened to the Bouquet and when Rafflesia stepped inside, her dress and accessories turned to water and fell to the floor. They were replaced by the clothes she had on before she transformed. Her hair and eyes went back to their normal purple color and she wobbled, before falling into the closest person, seemingly unconscious.

The Fragment hissed as Carnation struck its side, sludge blossoming from the new wound. Where it ought to have showered the Flowers in blood, Anemone's power caused it to pool beneath the monster. Its large mouth gnashed at its assailant but found no purchase as Anemone's shackles continued holding it down. Purple eyes honed in on both Carnation and Anemone before releasing a shriek to alert the remaining Fragments.
Though Foxglove and Lily of the Valley had done well to thin the horde, the remaining F grades answered their leader's call and launched themselves at Anemone. This time, a black circled the space around him, subduing every monster that entered his radius. How many were left after Lily's fiery dance or Foxglove's decisive swings? The quickest option would have been to have Lily burn down the building, but he had to keep the collateral damage to a minimum. Without knowing whether there were still workers in the building or adequate ventilation, they couldn't risk hurting anyone.
The smell of burning cardboard only corroborated his decision.
Anemone formed two more chains around the weights in his hand before turning back towards the shackled Fragment. His body shifted into a pitcher's stance, eyes meeting the Fragment's desperate wails. Closer to bullets than baseballs, the weights pierced through the space between the monster's eyes embedded themselves in the wall behind it.
It's cries became muffled as more ooze spurted from its wounds and filled its maw. Blinded and bleeding, the beast could only thrash as Team Anemone closed in and delivered the final blow.
The malefic energy that once surrounded the entity dissipated, leaving the unconscious blonde that they'd confronted less than an hour ago. Taking out his phone, he shot a text to the entirety of Bouquet, letting them know that the mission was a success.
"Guys, I checked the carbon monoxide alarms and-oh." A new voice swayed Anemone's attention towards the back entrance where a blonde haired woman stood.

It's a slow weekend for the Flowers, with no new Fragments showing themselves all day. Maybe kicking the ass of a B-Grade warned them all off, who knows. It's a rare opportunity for Flowers to take some time for themselves. Some Flowers, however, like to stay nearby in case there's an emergency... or they just have no life. That's cool too.
However, for some people, Saturdays are tutoring sessions. As per usual, Cedar has commandeered one of the tables at the cafe for her students and herself. It's a typical sight to see a bunch of Flowers with their heads in some papers, with Will occasionally pitching in when he has the time and inclination. Today wasn't one of those days, however, as he'd left only minutes prior.
After a couple of hours of work sheets, Cedar calls it, and her students expel a sigh of relief. She'd be going over their work one on one now, but at least they were free to relax until it was their turn to get evaluated.

Five minutes earlier, four active and one retired Flower loaded into a van with a giant "Firefly Farms" stuck on the side. Juno drove, with Will riding shotgun and the rest seated behind them. Top 40's pop music played through the speakers, a forgettable but easy tune layered overtop the city noise.
"Just twenty minutes, maybe thirty depending if there's traffic at the exit." The former Flower turned Firefly employee tapped his fingers to the song's beat on the steering wheel. He hated silence, and he hated sitting still. "Never met any of you before -except Will- I'm Juno."
He took the left turn that would take him to the highway leading out the city. "Guessing everyone here's new, right?" Juno didn't bother waiting for a confirmation. "You're all going to bootcamp. Drills, sparring, the works. That's why they send you to the farm." He was lying through his teeth, Will would know, but he couldn't help but at least try to mess around with them. They all looked so gullible too.

It was boring work, but someone had to do it. Peace in a world full of Flowers and Fragments was fleeting. It could all change at the drop of a hat, which was why regular patrols were done whenever Bouquet had any manpower to spare.
Thankfully, patrols were also pretty easygoing. There were no strict rounds, no tension from keeping a watchful eye out. As long as they had their phones, they were pretty much set.

The passenger seat was a wise choice because Juno's driving hadn't gotten any better since their last excursion. While he'd followed traffic laws within the city, the moment he went onto the highway, all bets were off. Between the two cars he cut off to make an exit and the sound of a vase breaking in the trunk, Will threw the other man a look of consternation. He was all for keeping the new recruits on their toes, but that typically meant lectures and not carrying them around in a death machine.
"At this rate none of us are making it to the farm," he chided, shaking his head. While Will wasn't one to play along with these games, it wasn't too long ago that he found himself sandwiched between Letizia and Emma. At the time he hadn't made peace with Emma and Letizia was competent at best, but meeting new Flowers at the farm helped him warm up to his teammates and meet a few more Flowers on his wavelength.
He glanced back that the trio, scanning them for motion sickness. Due to his busy schedule, he hadn't spoke to any of them for an extended period of time, though he knew vaguely of their combat abilities and Mariana's split personality. While it wasn't impossible for someone to take pleasure in killing Fragments, that typically went in hand with hero fantasies rather than general sadism. Maybe she's releasing her pent up anger or maybe-before he could finish his thought the car suddenly braked, nearly brushing the bumper ahead of them.
"My bad, guys!" Juno said sheepishly.
The highway erupted in an orchestra of beeps and honks as cars bottle necked around them, no doubt caused by whatever was smoking in the distance.
Will let out a sigh before doubling back on the new Flowers once again. "Is everyone okay back there?"

New month. New recruits.
Felix had heard that an unusual spike in Fragment activity as well as a few freshly minted Flowers had given some of the more senior members the runaround in the time he’d been out of the city. Which was worse? Dealing with his mother’s nth meltdown because he happened to miss a call from her once, or wrangling a reckless Flower who gleefully dives headfirst into an asswhooping? Fortunately, he hadn’t been present to experience the latter incident firsthand, though he had to commend Cedar for possessing the patience of a saint.
Today’s case was a simple patrol around the city, and though he wasn’t sure if someone had already explained things to Nymphaea, he figured going over their job once again couldn’t hurt. He explained the general signs: things that smelled odd; subtle changes in the scenery that don’t quite fit in with what your mind remembered; odd shifts in temperature in places you wouldn’t expect it; the works.
“Well, Fragments don’t come in a one size fits all, so it all boils down to trusting your gut in the end,”
Felix said with a carefree shrug. Though it was indeed possible to track down a Fragment before it did much damage, doing so was easier said than done.
“Keep your phone charged and on you at all times, and you’ll be fine. Not a tall ask for the current generation, anyway.”
He shook his phone for emphasis before pressing his thumb onto the screen to unlock it.
No messages of import or any urgent notifications from the company. Compared to the chain of Fragment-related incidents a mere few days prior, all was quiet and still. He supposed people had better things to do than stew in negativity on a weekend—namely catch up on sleep should their classes or work permit.
Exiting out of the Bouquet app and pocketing his phone, Felix looked to his right towards the shoreline. It was around lunchtime, so perhaps this was a good point to kick back and relax.
“Seems like it’s a slow day. How about a bite to eat at the boardwalk?”
he suggested, just loud enough for Isis, who was walking several paces behind the rest of the group, to hear him.

In the Garden was busy, as it usually was during the weekend. Chatter amongst the patrons faded into a pleasant background noise, a testament to the thought that went into its acoustics. It was mostly familiar faces to Cedar; if they weren't former Flowers, they were regulars who simply liked the place.
Though she would've enjoyed catching up on some old friends, duty called - of the mundane, voluntary variety. Frankly, she wasn't sure when she began this act of charity. Maybe some old Flower who just wanted her help with school until it became... this. A group of youths, most of them looking like the dictionary definition of a delinquent. That said, none of them were out of place in a cafe staffed by Flowers. Except one did, but only because he was a normal salaryman. She did feel mildly guilty that she'd practically coerced Anthony into sitting with them, but she'd felt awkward watching him twiddle his thumbs at the window seat. Plus, it would be a good opportunity to get a gauge on one of the Flowers she'd yet to be teamed up with.
"Hey Cedar, did you hear?" One of the staff came by to top off her coffee when they saw her adjourn the meeting. "Emma quit."
Cedar wrinkled her nose, trying to isolate her face and name in the sea of students that occupied most of it.
"The one who went to Will's uni?"
She managed to pull it up; a pretty, fun-loving blonde.
"Ah, that's why I haven't seen her around."
She thought it a pity, of course, but there wasn't much to be done. She'd pass the memo along, make sure no one went around greeting Emma and getting hurt and shocked when she didn't recognize them.
Speaking of Emma though... finally, an opening.
"Anthony, you were at the B-grade fight with her, right?"
Cedar gave him one of her noncommittal smiles. She would've taken the mission but she'd been busy herself.
"How was it? Usually we don't send newbies, but all the senior members were busy. I think Will was with Kenji...?"
She looked to the other man to confirm.
"So many Fragments and now a sudden lull. Not that I'm not thankful, it's just a bit eerie."

The studio was well-lit and meticulously arranged. Parabolic umbrellas funnelled soft white light, spreading it evenly onto the darkened set. A plain black backdrop with a subtle glint was the canvas of choice, clear like a shard of onyx under the moonlight. Antonio, a photographer of two decades, lowered onto one knee, eyes focusing, poised and ready to capture the perfect moment.
With her back turned to the camera, Zarina glanced over her bare shoulder, gazing into the lens with coy allure, a dainty finger tracing her matte lips. She exhaled a faint breath, indiscernible, soundless. She was unstirring as though time had stopped.
There it was, an instant, and Antonio's dexterous finger twitched.
Flash.
Such flamboyance was demanded by the luxury brand aiming to promote their newly released perfume, PRISM. As insinuated by the name, the glass bottle was fashioned in the shape of a tetrahedron—three principal sides, each depicting three core ingredients. Within the glass was a cherry-red elixir, a recondite concoction that served as ecstasy to entice the olfactory organs.
For the final shot, Zarina was asked to lie on the floor, her hair splayed. As usual, she was at ease. One last time, she turned to the trained camera, curving her lips into an elusive smile.
Flash.
The sound of applause echoed in the studio.
"That's it, we're all done! Thank you everyone!" Antonio announced. As the small crew scrambled to pack away the equipment, the photographer strolled across to Zarina. "Hey! That was a great shoot today! The images came out brilliantly." he pinched his fingers, gesturing satisfaction. "I'll be sure to have them sent to you once our editors make the finishing touches... One more thing... I would like to book you in for another shoot in a several weeks time."
Zarina nodded.
"Sounds good. Contact me with the details later and we can arrange something,"
she said.
"If you'd like, we can go over them now... I know a nice little café-" Antonio eagerly blurted.
"No, not today, Antonio. I actually had other plans. Maybe next time."
With that, Zarina waved goodbye and headed to the changing rooms, excited for the day ahead. After getting ready into something more her typical style, a black shirt and trousers with a chic white overcoat, she left the building, tapping her phone. Navigating through several streets, it wasn't long before she arrived at the Uber she requested. As she climbed into the vehicle, the driver peered into the front mirror.
"Where to, ma'am?" he inquired with a foreign accent.
"Firefly Farm,"
Zarina answered with a smile, looking out of the rear door window.
Hmm... I wonder if I'll meet anyone interesting today.

Xia

A throbbing headache, dry eyes, and a smile that pleaded for relief—jet lag proved to be a struggle unlike anything Xia had ever encountered before. It surpassed the blandness of airport food that constituted her last meal, exceeded the frustration of spending twenty minutes removing each earring and piercing for the relentless airport scanner, and even overshadowed the discomfort of the cramped seat she found herself confined to during her hastily booked travel. The cumulative toll of time zones weighed heavily on her, transforming what should have been a routine journey into a grueling test of endurance.

To compound the jet lag torment, Xia found herself thrust into the harsh embrace of direct sunlight immediately upon landing back in the country. She rubbed her eyes wearily, yearning for a moment of respite, as she trailed behind the group guided by Felix.

With sluggish hands, Xia pulled her phone from her purse, clutching it tightly. Despite the availability of a bag to carry her belongings, she chose to cling to the device, a lifeline she couldn't bear to be without. In the palm of her hand, the phone represented more than just a gadget; it was her life purpose. Though, Xia dared not to cast her gaze towards its shining bright screen in her condition.

While Xia wasn't entirely new to the program, the faces surrounding her were all unfamiliar. She was used to working alone, though the notion was frowned upon, simply due to her tendency to find trouble on her own. That, and, most flowers didn't seem to like working in the night like she did. Something about the moonlight was strangely comforting, she reflected, staring at the painfully sunny sky above her.

Well, she couldn’t complain too much. The first mission back proved to be relatively calm, a welcome respite. She just silently hoped she hadn't inadvertently jinxed herself. As the group strolled along, Xia's gaze drifted towards the coastline. The water, with its inviting and refreshing ambience, beckoned to her. She entertained the idea of taking a leisurely stroll with her ankles dipped into the water after their patrol, a small indulgence to punctuate the return to her familiar surroundings.

However, the tempting notion of a seaside promenade would have to wait, as Felix suggested to the group to grab lunch. And after enduring the ordeal of airport food on her previous meal, Xia had no intention of denying the offer.

Masking her tiredness with a smile, Xia nodded in agreement with Felix's proposal. "Lunch sounds great. Wherever you have in mind, lead the way. I've never been in this area before. If you have any spot recommendations, I'm all ears."

Akira
"Ahh...it's nice today..." Akira murmured to himself.
Being close to the beach was nice, the sea breeze was always something Akira enjoyed. However, today was different than his regular trips, for today, he had patrol duty, which was something he always dreaded. Not because he hates his fellow flowers, but more because of his anti-social nature, and preference to work alone rather than in a group. Outside of Felix, he didn't know anything about the other flowers he would inevitably be forced to interact with.

Akira had mauled this fact over the night before, and was trying to think of ways to make things less awkward for everyone. "...I could call Hanzo." Akira thought out loud. Without a second thought, he grabbed his phone, and called his older brother, praying that he was awake. To his surprise, Hanzo would pick up the phone much quicker than expected.
"Hey Akira, everything okay?" Hanzo asked.
"Hi Hanzo, everything's okay on my end, I just wanted to ask for your advice on something." Akira explained.
"Ah, I getcha. Try to keep it short, I've got a meeting soon." Hanzo said.
Akira was tempted to ask what exactly this "meeting" entailed, but decided that it would be better to not poke his head where it wasn't wanted. "Ah, I'll be quick. Tomorrow I'm gonna have to show some people around the office, and get them acclimated...but you know..." Akira paused. He didn't like lying to his brother, but he couldn't exactly explain to him what the flower program was about.
"You aren't good with new people, but you wanna break the ice and help them feel as comfortable as possible?" Hanzo guessed, letting out a light hearted chuckle. "Why don't you try taking them out for lunch? Show them some stuff, then go somewhere close by to get a bite to eat." Hanzo suggested.
"Ah, that's a good idea!" Akira exclaimed. He thanked his brother, and quickly hang up the phone. "There isn't anywhere I really like to eat around here...so I'll just cook the food myself!" He told himself.

So now, here Akira was, staring at the beach, carrying a large insulated bag filled to the brim with various Japanese foods he figured everyone would enjoy, and were easy to eat.
When Felix suggested that the group stop and grab some lunch, Akira perked up, and knew that his time was now. He walked to the front of the group, and turned to face everyone. "Hi everyone...I actually made us all lunch today! So we don't have to go to a restaurant, unless you all want to we don't necessarily have to eat my things if that's the case, don't feel like we can't still just go out for food." Akira murmured at the end. The large man found himself glancing at Felix, his eyes begging for some sort of assistance.

Everly, Petra - Rose She/Her

Petra's eyes lit up when this Juno person said they were headed to do training. Every good hero needs a bit of training, so this was a perfect opportunity. However, if she had to be serious with herself, she definitely needed to train if she ever hoped to defeat fragments above D-rank. While the D-rank they fought wasn't the hardest, she didn't imagine special abilities like a body that was too hot to touch. Well, either way, the help of a flower-specific boot camp was enticing. "Cool. Of course, it makes sense that training the most promising buds must be high on the to-do list so we can hurry up and kick bigger fragment butt." If Petra had room, she'd have kicked her feet up on a coffee table or some similar analog. "Though, I wish I was informed of that before putting on clothes for gardening. My outfit is definitely not the attire I'd want to wear while training." Petra sported denim overall shorts with a light green shirt underneath. In addition to her black boots that adorned some stylized patches, she had a white headband to tie the look together.

Petra didn't drive often, but with Will's statement, her observations of Juno being a horrible driver were vindicated. "Yeah, thinking about it. What sadistic freak gave you the keys to a vehicle? And what type of lunatic allowed you to get a license? Honestly, I think it'd be safer t-" Before finishing that thought, her face became cemented into the seat ahead of her. "FUDGIN- ... ow" she pulled her head away from the seat, rubbing her nose. Will's question immediately illicited a 'tch' sound from her mouth before she could catch herself. She motioned as if she were sighing but without actually doing then responded, "I'm fine over here."

Petra looked at the cars on the highway with a little extra disdain for the rest of this lovely ride.

"Be careful what you wish for!" Juno grinned, clapping the brown-haired man on the back, "I remember when Willy first came here. He practically hurled after the first lap around the building."
Will threw him a dirty look, glasses only magnifying the fire he tried to start in the driver's face. "You know that is not what happens at Firefly."
"There's nothing to be embarrassed about!" the former Flower insisted, eliciting a shake of the head from Will.
"My bad, guys!" Juno said sheepishly.
"Stop messing with them," Will said, furrowing his brow, "we don't even-"
"Oh well look at that! Traffic's finally moving again!" Juno piped in, seeming to ignore Petra's protests.
The congestion forced the van to move at a steady pace, allowing everyone's stomachs to settle and for Will to temper his irritation. It had been like this every season that they brought in new recruits, dating back to the first day that Will arrived at Bouquet. "Lighten up, Will!" "Learn to be a team player!" "Stop driving off the new recruits!" He'd heard it all before, but Juno always seemed to be nexus to his less composed moments. Admittedly he actually did throw up during his first bout of training, but nobody needed to know that.
Twenty more minutes of driving passed before they all arrived at their destination. After everyone exited the van, Juno began unloading the cargo onto a rolling cart. The flowers in the back of the vehicle somehow managed to remain intact, but he couldn't say the same of the vases which had a twenty-five percent mortality rate.
Will took out his phone, shooting out a quick text before facing the rest of the group. "Zarina should be here any minute. Then we can take you around the farm."

Sophia took in a breath of the fresh, clear air through her mask, leaning back slightly and stretching out her arms over her head as she walked at a steady pace. It had been a while since she had taken herself out somewhere that wasn't the Bouquet Shop, though she wasn't quite sure how she ended up here exactly herself. She faintly recalled some of her schoolmates talking about how nice the views were in the area, how it'd be a pretty good place to go for walks.

She was never much of a nature enthusiast, and the series of unfortunate events that seemed like a lifetime ago had made her even more reluctant to get out and go places. Reluctant to actually take in the world around her, appreciate the scenery, be in the moment. But that's what second chances were for. And third chances, and fourth...

She arched her back a bit, avoiding a slouch.

Before she could sink further into the morass of not knowing exactly what to do with herself, the field trip from the Bouquet Shop pulled up, and began unloading the van. Clearly, someone had not done a fantastic job of securing their cargo.

And so it was an opportunity to put herself out there.

"Looks like you guys could use some help. If I'd have known, I'd totally have volunteered to come along in the first place, too." Actually, she probably wouldn't have. Still, she made the best of it, giving Will a nod before helping to gather up the cracked and chipped vases for disposal, her hands gingerly picking up the pieces. Apparently, these were acceptable writeoffs.

On what felt like an idyllic afternoon, Zarina found herself in an uneventful Uber trip through the serene city. The driver navigated through the lively streets lined with pastel-coloured houses, the occasional sound of seagulls breaking the otherwise peaceful ambience.

As the car glided through the city, Zarina's phone vibrated in her pocket. She pulled it out to find a text from Will, another colleague from her covert line of work. Their dynamic is often a dance between clashing ideals, where Zarina's zest for mischief often collides with Will's straightforward nature, inadvertently leading to the spoiling of her fun. The message read, Hey, are you here yet? A smile crept across Zarina's face as she read the message. It was as brusque as she expected from Willard, but she supposed that was his odd charm, and also the reason he was so amusing to provoke.

Quickly tapping a reply, Zarina informed Will, On my way! I'll be there shortly.

She glanced out of the Uber window, taking in the coastal scenery that unfolded beyond the city limits. The shimmering waves crashed against the shore, and the salty breeze wafted through the car.

The late afternoon sun cast a warm glow over the flower farm as Zarina's Uber pulled into the gravel driveway. She gazed out of the window, taking in the picturesque surroundings – fields of blooming flowers swaying gently in the breeze, and the distant murmur of a bubbling stream.

As the car came to a halt, Zarina stepped out, feeling the soft crunch of gravel beneath her shoes. The Uber driver, a friendly face in the midst of nature's beauty, turned to her with a kind smile. "Here you are, ma'am," he announced, the tranquillity of the place seeping into his words.

"Thank you," Zarina replied, returning the smile. She reached into her purse, retrieving her wallet to settle the fare.

The Uber driver waved away any additional tip, insisting, "No need, ma'am. Just enjoy your time at the farm." His words resonated with a genuine warmth. Zarina nodded appreciatively and proceeded to pay for the ride, exchanging pleasantries with the driver. As he drove away, she turned her attention to the flower farm that lay ahead. The air was filled with the sweet fragrance of blossoms, and the vibrant colours painted a scene that seemed almost too perfect to be real.

Walking towards the entrance, Zarina couldn't help but marvel at the beauty that enveloped her. She had been here many times, but it never ceased to captivate. She felt a sense of peace settling in, a stark contrast to the hustle and bustle of the city she had left behind. The flower farm, with its charm and serenity, seemed like a world unto itself.

The courtyard was a vibrant kaleidoscope of colours as the Desert Rose strolled through it, her eyes darting between the gathered Flowers. The Flowers, as they were called, possessed extraordinary powers that set them apart in a world oblivious to their existence. Each one displayed unique abilities, from manipulating the laws of nature to controlling the elements, creating a mesmerizing display of prowess, and Zarina was no exception.

Making her way towards the parking lot, Zarina couldn't help but smirk as her eyes honed on the unmistakable streak of white in Will's brunette hair. He was standing beside a van, together with predominantly unfamiliar faces. Nevertheless, Zarina approached confidently, waving as she got closer.

"Hey there!" she called out. "It's always great to see you, Will... and I see you brought some friends." Zarina turned to address the rookies, introducing herself, "I'm Zarina, a friend of Will's. It's lovely to meet you all."

From the corner of her eye, she spied some of the juniors begin to unload the cargo.

"Here, need a hand? Let me help you guys out," she offered, slipping toward the back of the van. Zarina surveyed the scene, her eyes narrowing at the scattered porcelain shards of what used to be carefully arranged vases. Evidently, several of them had met an unfortunate fate, their delicate contents now scattered across the van's interior. The source of the chaos became apparent as the ex-Flower, Juno, emerged from the driver's seat. His dishevelled appearance and a sheepish grin betrayed the events that unfolded during their trip here.

Zarina, witnessing the aftermath of Juno's reckless driving, couldn't help but shake her head in disappointment. She shot him a reproachful glance.

"Juno, you never fail to keep things interesting, do you?" she remarked, her tone a blend of amusement and exasperation.

She reached for one of the intact vases and cradled it carefully in her hands. As she walked the span, her steps guided her towards Will. She stopped beside him, a curious glint in her eyes.

"So..." Zarina began. "Word on the street is a couple of Flowers ran into a B-Grade recently... You wouldn't happen to have been involved in that encounter now, would you?"
