Years ago, six teens, filled with hate for the world like most teens are, formed a band, channeling all their emotions into their music. Their name was Michigan Trafficking, and America loved them. Fame swallowed them up. It was incredible, for a time. They were taken out of their boring lives and made into something fantastic. Flashing lights, audiences with thousands of people.. everything.
But somehow, it all fell apart.
It finally chewed them up and spit them out. The money disappeared, the support fell away, friends broke apart, cheated, fought, and then they were back to square one.
Five years after it all went down the drain, their guitarist hit up a few old friends. Invited some fresh meat, and an unwanted guest, too. Michigan Trafficking was dead, but Bottom Trawling began.

The Guitarist - Perhaps he's not the lead singer, but everyone knows who he is. Handsome, charming, the one who dedicates his songs to the ladies. He's the sweet talker of the group. Almost the bad boy. [Male]

The Backup Vocalist - Formerly the lead singer of the old band, she was invited by the Pianist at the last second when their original backup vocalist flaked out. Much to the Guitarist's and the Lead Singer's dismay, she's all they've got for now and it looks like she's here to stay. She also plays the bass guitar. [Female]
Relationships: Dated the Guitarist. Despises him and the Lead Singer. Best friends with The Pianist.
History Points: Dating the Guitarist, breaking up with the Guitarist. Starting the old band with The Guitarist. Being friends with The Pianist. -

The Genius - Or better known as the dork. Incredibly musically gifted, he can play just about any instrument you give him. He hasn't quite gotten down the "soul" and "pain" and "love" part of music, but.. he's.. er.. getting there. If this doesn't work out for him, he's got a career in math and science. Probably. [Male]
Relationships: Best friends with the Lead Singer, they've known each other since birth. Knows the Pianist from highschool/college/middle school [up to you]
History Points: Picking up his first instrument. Years spent with the Lead Singer. Joining the band via her invitation. -

The Pianist - The more cool, chill, and mellow gal of the group, she's the one who reminds everyone that the universe is much bigger then their minuscule problems, and seems pretty hard to anger. The Guitarist thinks she looks sleepy. But she's rather wide awake. She studied classical piano as a child for many years before breaking away to pop and rock. [Gender is up to you]
Relationships: Best friends with The Backup Vocalist. Knows the Genius, is surprised and happy to see him in the band.
History Points: First touching the piano. The many years of classical piano classes, and then finally breaking away into pop and rock music. Being in the old band. Being friends with the Backup Vocalist. Being friends with The Genius. Joining the band. -

The Songwriter - A free, wild, spirit, who pours her heart and soul into her lyrics. She's unpredictable, fierce. One minute she'll be sad and mournful and the next she's bubbly and bright. She loves and lives for the thrill of things, and if it doesn't excite her, she's out of there. [Gender is up to you]
Relationships: The Songwriter is fairly new to most of the group, except The Guitarist. They were good friends in middle school. They wrote and played songs together. They broke away as time went on but their memories are still fond.
History Points: The Songwriter went through some sort of traumatic experience, leading them to first write songs. Being friends with the Guitarist. Being in the old band.
Hello and welcome to Bottom Trawling - a Band RP! Join me and my lovely co-gm @Wavebird as we explore the deep dark minds of brooding musicians as they try to hit it big - for the second time! Since no band RP is complete without some drugs, alcohol, and violence, we're just putting it out there that if you're sensitive to that kind of stuff, this RP is not for you.
We have the roles, relationships, and the basic personality traits set for you to build on. We want this to have a lot of character development, and we want everyone to feel important, so if you're applying for a character, get together with the person who's got relationships with you! Plan some cool stuff!
Other then us two people, only four other people are gonna be accepted into the roleplay. It's small, yep. We want active, detailed people who won't flake out on us :3
