  Dagin was born a noble, distantly related to one of the lower royal houses. As such, he never really counted as royal enough to hang out with the royals, but was also considered too royal to hang out with the street folk. As such, for a very long time, Dagin lead a lonely life. One could even say he still is lonely today. However, because he was technically of royal blood - even if just barely - he still got all the training expected of a royal. thanks to that, he is well versed in combat and is also knowledgeable in history and languages, able to communicate and blend in moderately effectively wherever he goes. It's almost like they were training him to be an assassin before he even knew it. Despite this though, even more than his loneliness, there was bitterness.
  
  You see, because he was never really "in" with the royals, he didn't get brainwashed like all the other royal kids did and he got to see just a taste of how corrupt things really were. Of course, he was able to identify that not all royals were terrible people, however, enough of them were terrible that even the good ones became hard to notice. What made it even harder was knowing how his parents - his entire family in fact, was treated by the royals. Despite being nobles themselves, they were treated very much like filth and he got to see his father's love for his kingdom abused until he was literally sick from working.
  
  Then, one day, a letter came. It was for the royal house that his family was under. He was fortunate enough to be in the room when the lord of the house opened the letter and from the way all the color left the pompous man's face, Dagin knew exactly what that letter was. Justice had come. For the next 24 hours, the whole manor was in chaos, everybody trying to do all they could do to prepare for the attack, yet knowing it was hopeless. However, Dagin was nowhere to be seen. Many had assumed that he was one of the many who had run away after the threat of the letter, but Dagin had much bigger plans.
  
  24 hours after the lord received the letter, he was dead. Dagin had been walking casually around the manor, pretending to be a regular street boy and, once the assassin left the manor, Dagin had a clear sight and began following them. Dagin followed this assassin for several minutes, cutting through one alleyway after the next. And then, before he could react, he was being pinned down by three other assassins. This was the first time Dagin felt genuine fear, knowing that if they wanted to kill him there, it would be as quick as a thought.
  
  However, the assassins were more impressed that he'd managed to spot the original assassin and follow him for so long without being noticed, minus one or two minor hiccups. So, they took him under their wing, brought him into the library and showed him Behind the Seal. He learned the way of the sword quick and the way of the bow even quicker. However, he was lethal with a spear in his hands and so he chose that to be his primary weapon. He was talented in chaos, concerningly so. But, after all, chaos was all he had known. Before long, he'd built up a reputation for himself, known simply as Dagin the Terror.

  Dagin can be described as many things but the one that seems to be the most accurate is "playful". At the end of the day, he just wants people he can play with. Now, of course, this is as a result of not really having anyone to play with when he was younger, but he hasn't gone to enough therapy (or any therapy at all) to know that.
  
  He has been known to gamble his safety, the safety of other and pretty much anything in the general vicinity if it meant he could get a laugh or two out of the situation. However, his jovial and playful attitude hide a secret that only two people have been unfortunate enough to find out: if you come how get him to take a matter serious enough to be angry at you...you would have been better off being fed to a pack of starving dire wolves.
  
  If he weren't so skilled at his job, he'd likely have been kicked out years ago due to the fact that he's likely to refuse a mission because "it doesn't seem fun enough". He is also incredibly slow to trust and doesn't know how to receive genuine acts of kindness since it has been a while since someone did something selfless for him. However, once his respect and trust is earned, he'd mow down an army if it meant keeping you safe.

Background

Born as the eldest child into royalty, Elysia was raised to be queen someday. For years, her parents had been trying to search for a suitor fit to marry her, and on her 18th birthday she was betrothed to a prince in another kingdom in order for the two lands to come together and make peace. Of course, Elysia had never met this prince she was supposed to marry but heard not so kind things regarding his character – he was snobbish, rude, and held no compassion for anyone, he only thought about himself.

Determined to avoid this wedding, Elysia ran away from home in the guise of a servant girl, being helped by one of her chambermaids to escape as her decoy took over the role for her. It didn’t last long, of course, and sadly the decoy was put to death, and the hunt for Princess Elysia began. She lies low in the city, but her luck is starting to run out. She is currently looking for anyone that would help her and not turn her in for gold. She had heard of a group involving The Seal, and so she is currently seeking them out to join them.

Personality

Positive traits: Kind, charismatic, diplomatic, adventurous, compassionate to all.

Maybe not-so-positive traits: Impatient, stubborn, daydreamer/head always in the clouds, easily distracted by things.

Likes: Actively going into town and giving the people her money so that they can live better lives, she feels for them and wants the best for them despite this going against her parents’ wishes. She also enjoys horseback riding, reading romance stories and pretending to go on adventures in her mind.

Dislikes: Snobbish and cruel people like her betrothed, injustice, not being able to fight because she’s scared of weapons, people who don’t listen to reason.

Personality description: Elysia is considered fair but firm. She feels deeply for those who are in need and only wants to help them but is frustrated that her parents keep trying to deter her in that endeavor. She is a non-violent person and would rather use her words than actual weapons. She feels strongly about negotiating peace with others and thinks it can be achievable. She can be a bit lost in her daydreams at times, and as she goes on in the story a reality check will hit her hard in the face.

Background:

Meera never liked attention. Growing up in an orphanage, she would often stick to the shadows. Watching other children interact and play, but never really wanting to intervene. At some point the children began to ignore her, not really paying her any attention. Most just didn’t like that she was so quiet. But speaking wasn’t always necessary, and it was tiring for Meera. Less is more was her motto. Her expression always came off indifferent or bored, so it was hard for anyone to really know the real Meera. Maybe she didn’t even know.

After a controversy with the headmaster, things began to rapidly change. Leadership wasn’t as loving and grew more strict, to the point that some children even ran away. It was during that time that a new boy was admitted. He too had a quiet nature about him, and he never spoke. At least, Meera never heard him speak. They would often watch birds in silence - those days were the most memorable for Meera. He was her only friend. Seasons passed as more children ran away, creating even more distrust in the orphanage. Meera wanted to figure out what was going on, but unfortunately didn’t have the chance.

One night a wild fire broke out in the kitchen, engulfing the entire orphanage within minutes. She managed to escape, but could not find any other survivors. This was the beginning of Meera’s long adventure, to wherever the wind called for her. And that would eventually lead to word of Behind the Seal. A new opportunity.

  Emilia grew up in a family of librarians of a former great, historical library that was once the greatest in its land, named the Bretzenheim Library. The library was filled to the brim with books ranging from every subject, ranging from subjects from fiction to warfare. As a young child, her only close friends were the books in the library and her little brother. She barely socialized and mostly stayed in the library, constantly reading book after book and gaining a wide variety of knowledge. This self-education allowed her to become an intelligent young lady, and she never needed outside education. In fact, she was the one who had to educate her brother, who wasn't necessarily a bright one.
  
  The library her parents owned was known for being neutral, somewhat of a bastion of free speech and freedom of thought. It offered books that even had conflicting arguments with one another and some books that either criticized or supported the government. As such, it drew the attention of rebel groups who saw their current kingdom as tyrannical—and this didn't sit well with the royal government.
  
  So much so that the government forcibly shut the place down. Seizing the place under the pretext of rebel activity, a teenage Emilia was forced to watch the horrific scene as soldiers arrested her parents and questioned her. She was forced to hide her brother as the scene unfolded and continually feared for his safety.
  
  Eventually, after an investigation, her parents were let go, and they fled to the countryside with their savings. The library no longer stood and was demolished.
  
  Because of this, Emilia grew resentful of the government and secretly began weapons training with a sword, waiting for an opportunity. However, she never saw one. Reluctantly, she settled into her countryside life, but soon her family found their finances running low. Thus, Emilia decided to move to the city again, and she found herself landing a job at Lasalle Library (this would have happened a few days prior to the start of the RP).
  
  She has vaguely heard of a group called The Seal - and it has certainly piqued her interest. Currently, she is unaware that she works at their headquarters.

  Emilia is a hard-working, serious woman. She does her best to keep things neat and organized, and she hates when people mess around and attempt to screw things up. She's very helpful, and she's good at memorizing where things are. If you lose something, she'll often be able to find it within a few minutes. Additionally, she's very educated on various subjects, ranging from language to music and even science. She's always down to discuss educational topics but usually doesn't initiate conversations by herself.
  
  However, she can lose herself if the people she loves, specifically her family, are put in danger. She easily develops anxiety and paranoia from time to time. Additionally, she can also grow very irritated, especially if one insults her about her knowledge.

  What faint memories he has of his parents are not pleasant; yelling and arguing followed by him needing to hide to avoid being struck by either a fist or thrown objects. Food was always scarce and he would at times go days without eating. Calix didn't know why things were this way but the last time he saw his parents was when they handed him off to an unknown cloaked man.
  
  They ignored his cries and pleas and as he was shoved into a crate he saw them accept a pouch. He realizes that he had been sold off only later in his life. And it was for something far more nefarious than his parents even realized; the cloaked man who had purchased was part of a group of mages who were trying to create the perfect humanoid weapon.
  The issue with this was highly illegal and inhumane, which was why they were doing their experiments in secret and buying demihuman children to experiment on rather than humans. And since Calix was an elf he was predicted to have a high survival rate. Thus began several years of cruelty and harsh training under the guise of arcane discovery. Among several children who had been taken in, only he and two others survived the trials.
  
  Before their purpose was revealed to them the local knight order, who had been secretly investigating the mage's underhanded machinations, stormed the hidden facility and proceeded to purge everything in sight. Calix and his fellow experiments fled but in the end, only he was able to come out unscathed. He was now eighteen years old and had no true sense of drive to keep himself going. But he also was much harder to kill than most, and if not for the seal then Calix may have wandered down the path of self-destruction. He has since served loyally for the past two years, fulfilling each mission to perfection.

  Due to his childhood and what he went through, Calix has closed off his emotions and comes across as icy to most. Not that anyone would approach him in a casual setting; his statue-like expression and uncaring demeanor frighten off all but the stout of heart. Calix has very little care for others and only does as he is told. He has long since forsaken things like personal likes and he only seems to do the bare minimum in terms of interactions even within the Seal. Yet there are times when mundane things seem to fascinate him, and this is especially evident when it comes to being outside or when he sees an animal while out on the job.
  Calix has no ill feelings about his parents since he does not recall anything good about them. He has no desire to meet them again or get revenge for what they did to him. Revenge is not something he even thinks of since the mages who made him what he is are all dead. Calix is very used to being on his own and prefers his own company a majority of the time, but he knows how to cooperate with others when the job requires it.
  He doesn't have a sense of normalcy and people will often confuse him with how they react to situations. Calix will escape to somewhere with less social expectation if he is feeling anxious or overwhelmed. Yet this uncertainty is nowhere to be seen when it comes to the mission; Calix is a cold-hearted monster of precise blood lust when he has a target. And once he has been pointed at his prey he will not relinquish them until either they are dead or he is incapacitated.

  Nobody knows his real name. Not even the oldest assassins and spies operating behind The Seal. He has just always been Bookie. But he wasn't the first.
  
  He inherited the name from his father before him, who inherited it from his father before him. Bookie's grandfather was the first Bookie. Bookie and his father had a lot in common and so Bookie spent a lot of time with his father. Neither of them were particularly physically impressive and so, Bookie's father - being a master of magic - began teaching Bookie how to read and the power of words. He started off reading basic literature that even peasant kids were familiar with. Then he got into more advanced literature, the type typically reserved for nobles. He learned about history and science and geography and when he was old enough, he learned about magic.
  
  By this time, operatives had already started working behind The Seal and the Lasalle Library was already their headquarters, but young Bookie knew nothing about this nor his father's involvement in it. And then one day, the royals felt as though Bookie's father had grown too powerful and knew too much, so they offered him a job within the courts. Bookie's father refused and so, a couple nights later, assailants were sent to Bookie's home so eliminate his father and everyone else in the house. It was meant to be an ambush. But those behind The Seal look after each other.
  
  Nobody knows what happened to the assailants, not even Bookie or his father knew. All anybody knows is that when the morning came, all the assailants and the nobles that hired them were piled in the town square with a note bearing the now famous seal stabbed into the head of the family patriarch.
  
  These ones attacked this nation's future, and so their own future was taken. Any attacks on libraries or houses of instruction will be shown no mercy.
  
  This was the first time that words had come on a letter from behind The Seal and they were words that the kingdom would never forget. They were words Bookie would never forget, because that was the day his life changed. After that incident, Bookie's father brought him into the library and introduced him to a few people. That was the day Bookie stepped behind The Seal. Since then, he has learned more and has earned the respect of every spy, assassin, librarian and guest there. Eventually inheriting the name Bookie when his father died.

  Like his name may suggest, Bookie enjoys the company of books. In fact, some say his wife left him because he spent more time with his books than with her. However, nobody dares bring it up because it is known to be a sensitive topic for him and nobody wants to risk angering the person that could supposedly turn you into a worm and step on you. Nobody has actually seen him do something so fantastical, but it is also known that nobody behind The Seal knows the upper limit of Bookie's magical abilities. Therefore there is nothing to say that just because people haven't seen him do it doesn't mean he can't do it. Rumors have to come from somewhere, after all.
  
  In addition to books, he also enjoys a good breakfast, especially one served with tea. He has learned to take pleasure in the simple things in life and live life in the moment. However, he fully believes in learning from the past and preparing for the future. He just doesn't believe you should let it consume you.
  
  Bookie serves as the humanising agent behind The Seal. In a world where everyone he sees is a deadly killer and likely on one mission or the other, he steps in as the voice that reminds them to take care of themselves. Whether it b to take a shower for the first time in God knows how many days, or to take a break from accepting missions. He is the protective figure that keeps all the assassins and spies grounded while still passing for a humble old librarian.
