It was a nice warm day in Magnolia, nicer than it had been for quite awhile, leaving most of the members of fairy tail either lounging around or messing around with each other everyone a bit too lazy to take any jobs from the request board. But off alone in a secluded corner, a rather short teenage girl with rather wild hair stood staring at the other wizards around her with a frown. Unlike everyone else, she's not messing around or even relaxing. Really, her shoulders are tensed and her strange looking eyes flicking around the room.
"Something's not right..." She mumbles and shakes her head. Everything was much too calm. Much too calm for such a popular guild...

The jade-haired Requip mage leaned back in his own personal table, both eyes closed as he propped his feet onto the rough wood. For any onlookers who didn't know the young man, they would think that he was keenly observing the area from beneath lidded eyelids. After all, he seemed to be of the intimidating, powerful sort - with the three golden earrings pierced in his left lobe, the lean, muscular, and lightly scarred body revealed by his open black overcoat, and the rough, loose pants that tucked into what seemed to be combat boots. Over-all, he bore the appearance of what one stereotypically think of when referencing a ruthless mercenary king, not Fairy Tail's most protective guardian. Then again, his bounty name seemed to fit him rather well...'The One-Eyed Demon'. In reality, however, Tetsuo was resting his eyes, and letting his stomach digest the absolutely monumental, and delicious, breakfast that he'd just demolished.

The large, empty platter on his table previously held an outrageously tall stack of pancakes and bacon, but sadly, it was now all gone. He had half a mind to demand for more, but he doubted the cook would be too happy about that. Mage or not, that old woman would scare even Blackheart if the fool was alive. But he wasn't. The thought made his lips pull back into a small, satisfied smirk. Yep, he was dead...by his own blade. That felt good to say, even if he'd only said it in his own mind.

"Aaaaaaaah." Tetsuo suddenly yawned, dropping his feet from the table. As he opened a naturally glaring silver eye, the few members who'd turn towards him at the abrupt noise, swiftly looked away from the intimidating, one-eyed gaze and scowl. Even after a couple years, a few of the more...meeker members were fearful of Tetsuo, but that didn't really bother the young man. As long as they didn't attack him, then he didn't give a single shit about what they thought about him. He'd protect the guild because that's what he put his honor on, and that was that. Besides, most of the Fairy Tail members respected and admired him for his strength and skill, which made up for the few who were afraid of him. He could live with that.

As he stood, Tetsuo cracked his stiff neck with a low, silent grunt, rotating his shoulders with slow, methodical movements. As much as he loved the food...he and boredom simply did not mix, and there weren't many jobs coming in nowadays, what with it being so peaceful - which didn't even make sense, considering how dangerous it was for Mage Guilds at the moment.

A bored Tetsuo was actually...fairly dangerous.

"You. Fight me." He suddenly spoke up, his deep, gruff voice cutting through the guild's chatter almost instantly. A calloused finger was pointing straight at a fellow guild member, chosen quite randomly - but who cared, as long as his boredom was somewhat abated? The average-looking man who'd been peacefully eating his breakfast glanced up at the swordsman in fear, a bead of sweat dripping down his face.

"I-I..."

Tetsuo's single silver eye burned bright crimson in eagerness.

"...I-...NO!"

The man promptly fled the room as fast as his legs could carry him, leaving behind a cloud of dust.

Tetsuo frowned, dropping his hand. His eye turned silver once more.

"...Damn it."

Kary was currently smiling to herself, a comforting weight on her head as she sat at her desk, sketching out something that she had thought up while bored.

Unlike the desks some people kept in their rooms, Kary's was made out of steel and oak, with several cubbies, a cork board, two small shelves (one for sweets, one for tools), and several previous creations, ranging from paintings, to carvings of various animals, to weapon designs (with varying degrees of viability), to recipies for various sweets, to Kary's clothing repair supplies (getting them custom made was expensive).

"YIP!"

Chuckling, Kary raised her free hand up to the weight on her head: a wolf pup composed of water that leaned into the ear scratches the hand was delivering.

This was how Kary spent her time when she wasn't interacting with her fellow guild members: making whatever popped up in her mind that was interesting enough, in her opinion, to warrant creation...plus she enjoyed the company of her water wolf pup technique's result. For some reason, the pup felt like it was the exact same one every time she used the technique.

Then again, Kary never claimed to know exactly how her magic worked.

It was just another day in the life of Raviv Talbot and as such it meant another mission completed and the long hike back to the guild hall which was nearly complete already, this time he decided to pick a mission a little bit closer to Magnolia than usual. Raviv is a person who dislikes using any sort of transport unless he needs to he would much rather walk anywhere and everywhere and they are many reasons for this. The first is that his magic needs him to be a little agile so him using his legs often helped with that, the second well you never know when transport will be late or early and Raviv is a punctual man and last of all well it was just easier for him he is used to walking everywhere.

Raviv finally made it back to Magnolia, the weather was just as nice as it was the whole time he was walking which was pleasant to walk in, not too warm, not cold and best of all not raining, snowing or any other things the weather likes to throw at Raviv which makes walking all that better. Raviv began heading to the Fairy Tail guild hall, he had only been apart of the guild for just shy of an month but to him, it already felt like a home which was nice well despite the fact that Raviv had spent minimal time at the guild hall and most his time out doing missions. Heck Raviv couldn't think of even one person who he would call a friend currently at the guild hall, that most likely is his own fault he isn't the most friendly person usually and even with the facade he puts on it's hard to keep it up near people that are getting close to him, the man that's under the facade isn't one most people can like.

As Raviv arrived at the door of the Fairy Tail guide hall he let out a small sign as he heard the usual noisiness of the guild hall, it seemed they were just something about this guild that attracted crazy people both in a good way of the word and the bad. Raviv opened the door to the guild hall and put his usual fake smile on his face. Raviv took a seat at one of the free tables and let out a yawn, he had gotten an okay job last time but chances are the next one won't be as fun after all even Raviv had noticed that fewer jobs were coming in and that meant more bored guild members which is never a good thing.

Among the many members of the guild that had decided to lounge around in the hall, one could find a lone trench coat wearing man sitting all alone at a table. Resting his chin upon his hand, just staring blankly at whatever had been in front of him as well as other members of the guild. It was a day that wasn't particularly busy for one of the most famed of guilds that Fiore had, nobody had appeared to be taking any jobs from the request board. Most appeared to just be messing around with each other or lazing around the hall doing nothing in particular, like what he's doing right now.

It wasn't that he didn't truly have anything to do, as he could always just go to the request board and check if there was anything that was worthy to be done by him, but the problem with that was that he'd already seen all of those requests yet none of them even seem all that interesting in his eyes. Besides, wasting a fine morning like this by doing some mission that may not even be worth it would just be wasting his time. Maybe he should go buy some more cards for his multiple decks consisting of different ones for different purposes. The magic was a thing he loved, and he was even great when it came to the actual game.

Or maybe he should just take a look at whatever cards he does possess and change the decks up a little bit, make something new for once. He has them right in the bag that leans on the left side of chair, and considering that there's nobody else sitting with him right now he might else well just occupy the table with something. Ignoring whatever the other members may be doing as of right now, he brought up his bag and takes out a small case with his name embedded on it. Putting the bag aside and placing it on the table, he opens the case to reveal multiple decks of cards as well as smaller cases that have labels on them in category of what kind of card they are. Taking out the decks, he opens them all then begins to inspect them one by one.

Changing around the ones he doesn't like, switching them with other cards. The offensive ones go with offensive, supportive with supportive and defensive with defensive. There was the hybrid deck, which was his favourite as it contained a little bit of everything. Booker took a look at everything he had in his collection, switching around things here and there. Making himself busy with all the deck editing.

The moment that the cards were spread across the table, Rin perked up. She silently would slink over to the table, then peek over the top, only everything above the bridge of her nose showing. Rin's eyes flicked up to stare at the owner of the cards. What was his name again? Book? Books...? Er damn it why were names so hard!?
"Er, hey um Books no ahem Boomers...?" Her eyebrows twitched.
"Those are some nice cards you got there..."

While her eyes were the only thing showing, Rin's hands were shaking slightly with anticipation. She could almost imagine her hands sliding lightning fast across the table and swiping all the cards then running off the cards becoming her's and not this dude who's name she couldn't remember.

As he was carefully looking over each and everyone of his decks, changing the contents as he pleased if he didn't like them. Balancing out the hybrid especially, to have a good amount of supportive, defensive and offensive cards at his disposal when he was to use this specific deck. The many different cards that were in it, like one of his personal favorites, the Copy Projectiles Card. A card that was given to him by his dear mother, a mage that had insane skills when it came to any card games and the magic itself. The card was one that could split itself into multiple different projectiles of the user's choosing. The thing it would become was decided by the card thrown alongside it, turning into that specific card and multiplying it by five.

And during the time he was changing it all around, the white-haired and blue-eyed man had noticed a somebody coming up close to the table he was at. And took a small peek at who it was, and low-and-behold, it was the only other Card Magic user he had ever known other than his mother and himself. Rin, if he remembered correctly, was the other card user's name. He isn't particularly close to her, nor have they ever really interacted much in the years he'd been part of the guild.

Judging from the fact that she was the only other card magic user other than him at the guild and that he was pulling out a small briefcase full of these cards, he could only imagine a single reason for her to be here at this moment. She was interested in his cards, and judging even more-so at how she is or at least what he has seen of her, he wouldn't want her near his cards whatsoever. Among the many guild members, he found her to be one of the strangest, if not, the strangest of all the members.

Though he ignored her and continued on with his deck editing, but he did peek many times what she was up to. And on one of those peeks, his eyes had met up with hers at the same time. Now with that, he was about to ask what it was that she wanted but she spoke first. And she got his name wrong, the first guess was close to what most called him but the second was not. Then she complemented his cards, albeit now that he was observing her rather than his cards he noticed her hands were slightly shaking.

With that, Booker had instinctively just took the decks he placed and the cases he had of cards back into the larger case with high speed and having it shut. Those shaking hands are either wishing to steal and not return, or touch with utmost excitement. And with how he knew of what she's like, he bet she was wanting to do the former. But there is a chance she was to want to touch them, and he hoped it was that instead. "It's nor Books, or Boomers. It's Booker, Booker Duckworth. And no, you can't touch any of my cards if that is what you're planning," he replied back, now observing her in detail as to what she was going to do next.

Kary raised the piece of paper she had made her sketch on and smiled.

"Done. Only one last thing to check, though."

She got up from her seat, holding the sketch carefully as she walked out of her room, closing the door behind her with a light kick.

She quickly made her way to the main hall.

"Hey, Booker!" She said as she spotted him, skipping over, the water wolf pup yipping in excitement.

Pacen just came back from a 120,000 jewel job. His job was knocking out a Vulcan from Mt.Hakobe and delivering it to his client in Crocus. Since the distance from Mt.Hakobe to Crocus is far enough to make his legs ache, he rented a carriage. Going inside the mountain and knocking out the Vulcan was easy. Getting out of the mountain and carrying the monster was the hardest part. The raging snow storm was interfering with his job. He made a metal sled that is big enough for the monster and he was dragging it using a rod with a handle he made that is attached to the sled. The cold was piercing in the thick clothes he was wearing. After that, his bag flew away. It was lucky since he didn't use up all of his magic power. In an instant he saw his bag flew, he caught it with a hook, and it was a couple meters away from him. He retracted the metal and picked up his bag. This time, he secured it.

Time passed, and made it outside the area of the mountain. Fortunately, the carriage was still there. He placed the Vulcan into the extra space in the carriage. Suddenly, it woke up, but Pacen hit its head and goes back to sleep again. While he was traveling, he removed his clothes and replaced it with his casual and usual attire. When he arrived at Crocus, at the place where his client was, he handed over the Vulcan and received his job reward.

Back to present, he was walking in a familiar street. Houses and apartments on each side of the street, people casually walking and street vendors selling their merchandise and other things. At the end of the street lies the wizard guild Fairy Tail, his guild. As soon as he entered the building, he heard the usual sound in the guild hall, which is noise. He usually ignored the noise. He still didn't have breakfast, so he bought one in the guild and sat in a table with no persons. This is his usual morning routine, so he isn't really bothered by it.

Clutching his case filled with nothing but cards, the white-haired boy kept his eye on the green-haired girl as to not let her take these very precious cards of his. Tightly clutching it so she would've have a chance to take his case. Putting it back into his bag was not an option, as she could probably just steal them much more easily without him noticing even if he wore it on his back again. That is if she's got hands that are light and fast. His cards are too precious, especially the few he has that only very few have in the world.

Staring at her every inch, especially those hands of hers. Those suspiciously slightly shaking hands of hers. He has no intention of losing anything in his possession to anyone. All he wished for was some peace so that he could just mess around with his many decks for any upcoming battles, if anyone would challenge him that is. Or if he was to go on some mission that involved fighting other living beings, or animate ones. A fight would be something great to do in order to pass time, actually.

Just as he was on the verge of asking Rin a question regarding what the hell it is she wanted, he could hear his name being called out. By a voice that was not a man's. Rather, it was the voice of the Kary Rhaikoth, a girl that he knows has a liking towards puppies and the such. He also knew that she was a person who was younger than him. From what he knew of her, she had some sort of magic that allowed her to create dogs, or animals related to dogs. He turned over from Rin, still clutching at the case of cards he had in his hand.

Booker could see that Kary was with another one of those strange and oddly adorable puppies of hers made of elements. He wondered she could be creating these things, and what her magic actually is. "Ah, Kary! That another one of your elemental puppies?" He asked, despite clearly knowing what it was.

As per usual of the fairy tail guild, things were getting interesting. The loudness, the energy of the guild was something that had always kept Raviv here just that little bit longer than usual something. For the past month he had been just going out on missions after mission spending little time in the guild hall but those little bits of time he did spend here he did find them slightly enjoyable. Raviv began looking around the guild hall fact is he didn't even know many people's names out of the whole guild he knew about three people's names which overall didn't bother him the fewer people he got close to the less he would have to hide who he really is.

Raviv was dressed in his usual attire consisting of a black robe, beige pants, and clothes with a strange marking on it. Those markings are something he knew what it meant it was the markings of something called a 'Slayers' or so his father said so the 'Slayers' are the people who ended up being experiment on, or at least that what his father always told him so to the outside world it wasn't something that was known.

The long black haired male began watching everything going on in the guild hall, his eyes finally set on three people. The first was a boy with a suit, the next a girl with green hair and last of all was a young looking girl with some sort of water animal in her hand, it interested Raviv but what interested him more was that this would be a good little chance to get some practice with Reverse-control in. If his theory was correct that water animal would be made by magic and as such would contain ethernano.

Raviv raised his hand and pointed his palm towards the creature and bent his fingers almost like he was trying to grab at the air. His hand began glowing with a red tint as he began attempting to forcefully change the flow of the best ethernano. As he kept trying the red tint got brighter until it was almost like an aura around his hand but just as this happened it vanished, this causing a loud sigh to escape from Raviv's mouth as he guessed still no luck. Raviv began staring at the ceiling. "One day." He muttered. As Raviv retracted his arm it just occurred to him that his magic was still in use but not Reverse-Flow control but Flow control, surrounding him was almost faint red dust that quickly dispersed. He was lucky he was holding back to try and use Reverse-Flow control otherwise that could have been bad.

(Pretty much anyone in the guild hall would have seen it depends on if they are paying attention to the surroundings.)

"A wolf pup, technically." Kary said, petting the creation on the head, the pup in question leaning into the caress.

"Anyways, I've been working on an idea I had regarding your cards. There is a big question that'll make or break this, a question I thought you might know the answer to, given your knowledge of cards. The question being this: how are they made?"

Pacen just finished his breakfast. As usual, he'd play with his metal ring for an hour or two, trying to figure out its secrets. It wasn't steel or titanium, since he can tell what metal it is by just touching it. He found it on an abandoned area in Fiore, namely A City Without Sound. He was sent there for a job, killing a monster lurking there. But there was no one in the city, not even a monster. When he scanned his surroundings, there were weird gaps on the cemented floor, if he could recall. And on the point of the intersecting gaps lies a small metal ring. He grabbed it, and nothing happened, so after a couple hours of waiting, he had given up on the job and went back to the guild.

Pacen hid his ring in his pocket. But suddenly, he noticed a slight change in the air. It was a half an hour since he finished his job, so his magic is still filling up. But at this moment, his magic seemed to be increasing slowly. He thrust his hand in front of him, and a thin rod instantly appeared from his hands, extending to the next two tables in front of him. "Not good enough." He disappointingly said. A scared man faced behind him. Pacen flashed him an awkward smile, but he didn't look at him directly. The man looked at someone behind him.

He sighed in frustation. He stood up and shouted without looking behind. "Tetsuo! You caused trouble again, you geezer?"\

"Fine fine, I won't try and take any of them..." Rin would slowly ease up so she was fully standing, her hands shoved into her pockets. She blinked several times, and tilted her head to the side glancing at Booker with her unsettling looking brown eyes.
"Though I would like to see your cards... I only have old-ass cards that nobody ever has, and no one trusts me enough to let me have a glance at the newer cards." Rin rubbed the toe of her boot against the closest leg of the table and began chewing on the insides of her cheek. This was the most normlaest she's allowed anyone in the guild see her. She'd usually attempt to take things from guild member's pockets, or creep the living magic out of them. But she really wanted to see Booker's cards to a point where she'd at least try to not scare this dude and act normal enough. After she'd gotten up, she noticed a girl walk over with a small pup in her arms.
"Kya!!" Rin dove under the table, and began chewing on her nails. She wasn't even sure where her fear of animals came from, just that her hands would shake, knees would lock, and she'd break out in a freezing cold sweat. Maybe animals brought back bad memories somehow, or their actions confused her to a point of it being freaky. Rin wasn't sure, but she knew that she wasn't going anywhere till the wolf was gone.

Booker glanced at Rin again when she said she wouldn't take any of them, now just slightly relieved that she wouldn't be stealing his precious cards. But he was still clutching onto the case of cards very tightly despite that, fearing that it might just be a lie and that she would be taking them the second he would let his guard down. But judging from the way that she's acting right now, he supposed she was serious about not stealing his cards anymore. It seems she really just wants to take a look at some of the new cards, since no other card magic mage had let her.

Now, there was Kary to be spoken to as well. The creation of these magic cards were something that he only knew a tiny bit of despite his immense knowledge on many, many different cards and what they could do. Though if there was something he did know regarding their creation that it involves the imbueing of magic onto the cards to make them like what they were. Other than that little sliver of magic card creation, he would have no other thing to say. That little bit was only told to him by his mother back when he was fist learning the ropes on this magic when he asked the same question himself.

For example, imbuing fire magic to make it have the fire element, or explosive magic to make it explode. Either through the use of lacrima or having a person do it themselves. But those were but the more simple ones to make, or at least that's what he thought. The more complex ones like the cards that summon beings, he has no clue on how people create them. "Aren't the two basically the same? And well, on the subject of magic card creation, the only thing I know about that is they imbue some magic or use a lacrima. Other than that, I know nothing else," he answered Kary's question.

"Oh and Rin- Hmm? Rin?" He called her out but now he couldn't find her, and is looking around now trying to find where she's gone. His case was still with him, and his bag was still left untouched, so he supposed she had gone somewhere else now. Then, Booker had the idea of checking under the table. Considering the girl's eccentricities, he wouldn't out hiding underneath the table trying to get his things beneath her. Checking underneath the table, he found her under there. But he wasn't expecting to see the sight of her looking afraid, that's something other people feel when being around her.

He had never seen her look so scared before, and took it as a bit of a shock to see her like this. Biting nails, those same shaking hands but only shaking a lot more and an expression that clearly showed fear. It made him think that she looked just like some scared and lost child, then again she had always had that child-like appearance of hers with that incredibly short height of hers. He towered her in comparison. She looked like she wasn't gonna move anywhere until the thing triggering her fear would go, whatever it may be. So, he did something.

Going down underneath the table as well, he took his case with him. Getting down it was somewhat of a hard thing to do, since he wasn't as short and small in build as she was. It felt uncomfortable, to say the least. This table definitely did not fit him, but he managed it anyways. He put the case down on the ground and opened the things keeping it shut. "Hey, kid. Rin, what's wrong? Never seen ya look so scared. Here, you can look at my cards all you want. Just don't steal them."

Spemout Spemout Peach Tea Peach Tea

Rin stopped at the word 'kid' slowly turned her head to stare at him, a rather frightening angry look plastered across her face.
"I'm sorry, but you you just call me a kid!?" She narrowed her eyes, are sized up Booker himself with a frown. "I'm only two years younger than you."

For a split second, Rin's eyes flicked from Booker and over to the girl who's name she didn't necessarily want to remember, when her eyes crossed over to see the wolf or whatever it was still there. Letting out a shriek, Rin quickly moved more towards the back of the table and closed her eyes, as though she disappeared by not being seen.

Time seemed to slow down as memories flooded back into Rin's mind. Memories she'd tried so hard to contain and lock away in an unused part of her brain.

Rin was maybe 6 at the time, and she stood in what looked like a long field, with plants almost taller than Rin herself billowing around her torso. Her father had made her come out here, for a reason that the girl didn't understand in any way at all. There was nothing out here, and she was certain that he didn't send her out here to just calm down and settle in the soft, becoming grass that nestled her bare feet.
"Daddy?" Rin's small voice seemed to barley even echo across the empty plains. Her voice was so small, that she could hear the sound of running footsteps.

Rin's eyes lit up with excitement. Daddy was coming back to pick her up, or maybe mommy was done sleeping for so long. She slowly began to walk along the fields, barley containing her childish excitement. Once she reached the end of the hill, Rin stopped. Her eyes widening. The man that was standing on top of the hill was not daddy. He was scary. Compared to the small child, he looked like a giant, along with the large hill adding to his size. Rin began to shake, and tears filled up her eyes.
"Wh-.. Who are you?" Rin's eyes widened as the man merely chuckled and smiled, his golden eyes fixated with pure hatred.
"The last man you'll ever see." With that, shadowy looking doggies appeared next to the man, each growling with such intensity, that it almost sent the child running. If only her feet didn't seem glued to the ground.

All at once, the dogs came running at Rin, and her ear splitting scream now echoed across the field, as one dog came close and raked its claws across her arm.
'F I G H T' Rin's father's voice echoed in her brain, and out of habit, Rin pulled out a card.
"What are you going to do with that?" The man's voice was shrill and teasing, "Predict my 'future'?" His laugh echoed across to Rin, and the dogs even seemed to have an amused look to their fearsome faces. Flicking it over her fingers, Rin summoned a fearsome sword that was even larger than she, and attacked the dogs.

She took out the first one that scratched her, stabbing it in the stomach than slashing at its legs so it couldn't walk. '
'Kill it. It's not like the creature has any reason to live.' Daddy's voice harshly instructed her once again. Turning to the fallen mutt, Rin thruster the sword into it's head, the dog's pained howls coming to a screeching stop. The next dog, ran at her, grabbing a bite in her shoulder, before Rin threw it off and sliced off its head. The man on the hill suddenly seem so large, and the hill seemed like a molehill instead of a mountain. As she made her way up the hill, the man let out several other unkind phrases to Rin, but made no attempt to run. Once she got close enough, Rin raised her sword to strike, when a memory of her mother and her laughing shook her brain, causing her to hesitate. The next thing Rin knew, she had been knocked to the ground, with what seemed like a dozen dogs circling her, each taking turns on attacking her, but not quite killing her.

"This is what you get you good for nothi--" there was suddenly a gurgling sounds then silence. Not even minutes after, the dogs disappeared leaving Rin alone on the ground.
"What a worthless little weak child.." Rin's father picked up the wounded child, and began walking back to the guild silently, the attacker left on the top of the mounting, facing down with a small pool of blood circling his neck.

(Mm, sorry this took so long)

The reaction that Rin gave him was one that he wasn't expecting, and because of that reaction, now there's something he can do to tease her. And boy he will tease her using the word 'kid' until the end of time. That would be so fun. The angry expression she gave him when he said the word 'kid' was one that he thought looked adorable to him, and gave him the impression that Rin was very much like a child. With how she's getting angry over simply being called a kid, it only made him think she was a kid even more.

"Two years younger huh? Well, I don't really give much of a shit about that. You look like a kid with that height of yours, so I'm gonna keep calling you kid. Plus, it's a bit of a habit of mine so I'd probably keep calling ya that nonetheless." He said in response, now just staring at her face. "You look so very adorable and cute when you're angry, ya know that?" Booker said immediately afterwards in a much harder to hear voice, all the while just staring at her face. To him she just looked so very, very adorable right now that he just wanted to not look at anything else.

Though once she let out a small shriek and turned away and closed her eyes from the wolf puppy Kary brought with her, Booker stopped and glanced at it. For whatever reason she may have to be scared of such a harmless-looking creature, it shouldn't be scaring her all that much in his opinion. How can a person like her, who many view as very strange and possibly even scary, be scared of something so innocent? It made him wonder what she must've gone through in order to make her as scared as that. It gave her some sort of innocence in a way, or at least that was what he though.

Now, Booker changed his position in order to be facing her front once again before he spoke. "Hey, kiddo," he called her a kid once again, but with a tone that made it sound like an endearing tone, and now was slowly reaching his hand to her left cheek. "There's nothing for ya to be afraid of, you're a tough girl right? Despite your size, I know you're real tough inside right? Come on, don't be so afraid of something like a pup. It's not scary, and if ya do find it scary, I'm gonna be here for ya." Once he was finished talking, his hand was now very gently caressing her cheek and a small smile crept onto his face. "Don't be afraid, I'm here. I'll protect ya." He said to her again.

Sweet words he had said, only for those who needed it. The softer and much more gentler side of him he showed in order to calm others down with his own calmness and benevolence, it was much more prone to saying things he'd usually never say if he was the joking person he always was. A version of him he used when he either wanted to calm someone down, or when he was with a person that he loved so very much. Whatever words he said in this state were much more caring and sounded so much more soothing, and could probably make anyone feel calm. Though it was also a side of him that showed the most intimacy, with him sometimes getting a bit touchy with someone and more sensual. A state he considered was his most vulnerable.

Rin opened her eyes, at the feeling of the soft touch of Booker. In total honesty she wasn't too sure what she should really do. The last time anyone had ever treated her with that much care had been when she was still a small child, and her mother would coax her to sleep havIng her ignore the harsh sounds of the guild members in the building connected to their house.

Upon him mentioning her as a 'kiddo' made her face redden slightly. It was just something she'd have to get used to it looked like.
"Ok ok, yeah yeah whatever" Rin lightly grabbed Booker's wrist and moved his hand from her cheek, which was still warm from his touch. She hadn't ever allowed anyone to see her like this, let alone get close enough to touch her, and comfort her. Then again, why exactly would anyone in the guild even want to? To them, she was a emotionless monster that only knew how to destroy and ruin people's lives. Which she sometimes wondered if it was true... Because deep down she knew she could feel things, just she never opened it to others in fear of them taking it and using everything against her.

Rin soon realized she was still holding Booker's wrist during her random space out moment, and quickly dropped it, looking away a small pout forming on her face. 'Do I really look like a child to him?' Rin gritted her teeth slightly in annoyance. 'Then make yourself not look like a child to him' His cruel tone brought dread to Rin's chest 'Give him punishment he won't ever forget..' After so many years of blocking his voice out, Rin suddenly now could hear the harsh voice of her father harassing her in her mind like it once had as a child. Letting out a sharp in take of breath, Rin's heads flew up to her temple, trying to force out the harsh words of temptation.

As he caressed her cheek as gently as he possiblely could, her cheek felt soft and warm to him. The sensation of his skin making contact with another was one that he was very unfamiliar with, despite how it seemed so normal for him to do this when in his comforting and loving state. In fact, this was most likely the first time he's ever done something like this. This physical contact was a thing he'd never so before in his life, and hasn't exactly thought of doing ever in his life. And especially not to some girl he'd barely even known anything about. This sensation was completely new to him.

Yet here he was, with his hand on a girl's cheek caressing it ever so softly in an effort to comfort her of her own strange fears. And he only barely knew of her, just her name, age and that she had a bad past was all that he knew of her despite the amount of time he's spent here. Before this, he's never paid much mind to her when she arrived. He focused on much more important things like training himself to become stronger in order to fight off those dark mages and getting himself jewels in order to pay his apartment's rent. He needed to after all, where would he be living if not there and how would he be eating?

The guild was an option, but he didn't want to live there for the rest of his life. It was a bit too noisy in his opinion. Plus he'd probably be bothering people, so he worked hard. Now, he's sort of rich with the amount of missions he's done before. The amount of jewels he had would probably last him for most of his life. And he was planning on doing more of them simply because he felt bored of just doing nothing. Today was just a day that had boring missions and a fine day that no one seemed to want to do any missions. And this led to him looking through his cards through the amount of boring requests that we're on the bored, and those cards led to him conversing with Rin for probably the first time. Though he had no idea how she knew of his age, he guessed it was just something everyone knew.

Booker was brought out of his thoughts by the sound of Rin speaking again and her grabbing his wrist then moving it away. He was face to face with her right now, and he was just staring with eyes that did not waver one bit as his blue eyes stared into her own orbs. He paid attention to her details, and was now examining her. Her green hair was short and looked neat, and he now saw what appeared to be tattoos along the top and bottom of her left eye. Tattoos of small diamonds and circles, getting smaller and smaller. Her facial features to him would be described as a little bit child-like, and to that he found her to seem pretty damn cute and adorable.

Her overall appearance however, also looked child-like. With her slim build and arms, she just looked very petite to him. Even more so with how short she was, in comparison to him she was like some 12 year old girl rather than a 15 year old. By the time Booker was 15, he was already 5 feet and 7 inches. So she was either just really unlucky with her height or genetics just made it so. Appearance wise, she really did look like a child. Anyone else who didn't know who she was would probably just assume she was some small lost child. A small cute and adorable child who people knew as a devil.

Amongst all of his examination of her, he felt his hand being let go and a realization that she was still holding his hand whilst he was getting lost in all of his many thoughts. And before she turned and pouted a bit, he noticed a thing that he hadn't noticed before. She had a bit of red on her face. And with that, he'd also gone red a bit. Now having realized all the shit he's done in the short period of time they were here, that it was embarrassing stuff. Stuff that normally would be embarrassing to do, and he hadn't thought much of it. But hell, the turn away and pouting was really fuckin' adorable to him.

It was when he stared at her again, just thinking of how cute she looked to him. Maybe he was strange, maybe he just had a thing for that, but damn was it cute to him. Cute enough that he'd just be staring at her and not wishing to look at anything else right. Booker tried repositoning himself to feel more comfortable, trying not to slouch anymore and then suddenly hitting his head and realizing that he was still underneath a table with her. The case of cards were still there, but that was of no importance right now. The sudden banging of his head caused him to say quietly, "Shit!" and then returned back to his original position where he slouched in order to make himself fit under there.

Now however, he noticed another she was doing. Most likely some sign she was having some bad thoughts or that's what he thought. "hey, what's wrong, kiddo? got somethin' on your mind?"

Rin turned toward him for a slight moment, thinking dark thoughts. 'It'd be so easy to just...' She imagined right there pulling out a card and summoning a sword and stabbing it through Booker's shoulder. A red tint had begun to slowly creep over her brown eyes, when she quickly jumped out from under the table and away from Booker. She had go get away from him and let all the gruesome thoughts clear.
"S-sorry!" Was all Rin could manage to mutter before she was gone.

'Why? Why now?' Rin thought with a furrowed brow 'your damn voice has been gone for so long, why just pop back up now?' Rin weaved through the heavy crowds, keeping her head down. She had to admit, getting away from someone was easy, whilst supposedly finding someone was a tad bit harder. Heart beating faster than usual, Rin noticed that the guild hall seemed surprisingly farther away than usual, and the crowds kept closing in on her.

Rin finally stopped and looked around, several of the members were closing in, and just standing around chatting. 'Fucking idiots... So oblivious and full of themselves...' Rin clenched her fists, then finally shouted,
"Hey assholes! Out of the way before I pummel you!"

Upon hearing the sound of her voice, the other wizards looked down, narrowed their eyes as though they were saying, "Oh. It's you" and moved. Grumbling to herself, Rin glared back at them, before she turned and smacked into yet another person.
"Aw crap! Sorry" she muttered taking several steps back.

There were many different expectations of his when he had asked the question, with the most obvious of them being her giving him an actual answer. And the second expectation was her saying and turning away even with more of that so very adorable pouting. Not what he had gotten here instead. But with a reaction like that, Booker could've only guess that it had a question that she felt sensitive about or something along the lines of that he guessed. Before she left however, he noticed a bit of a red tint on her brown eyes. Now the red tint on her cheeks he knew was what, but a red in her eyes? Who knew might that could be.

Seeing her just run away, he decided to give chase. For what reason? Who the hell knew. But before he did, he grabbed his case and put it into his back before trying to get up, hitting his head on the table once again then just jumping out from underneath the table. Booker felt a certain urge inside of him that just made him feel like he needed to chase her down for whatever reason it may be. Maybe it was just that he wanted an answer to his question rather than not knowing, but if she ran away like that, the answer might just be a bit too sensitive.

But alas, the curiousity has gotten the best of the white-haired boy until he too had started to run. All the while running to catch up with her, he hurriedly just put his backpack on. He must know the answer, it just made him so very curious as to what it was that it caused her eyes to glint with a red. All he guessed as to what it might've been about only pointed him into something that was probably related to her dark past, as that's all he knew of her before this. Or maybe all of that might have been some made-up excuse just so he can see her adorable face again.

"hey! kiddo, wait!" Escaped his mouth as he was rushing to get to her. Other than quick, 'excuse me!' and 'pardon me!', that was all he said while he ran. He was so very intent on getting an answer, it reminded him of the past when his dad was still there with him. To describe what he's feeling right now, it was like the feeling he got when he first heard that his father was going to teach him his first ever caster magic. That was what it felt like right now, like that one time. So very eager, so very desperate.

Eventually, he caught up to her quite easily. The scene she made was one that he wouldn't be able to miss after all, even among all of this chatter and shit. So he was fast enough to catch up. Once he did, he stopped right in the middle of it. Seeing that she appeared to now be taking steps back for whatever reason, he felt that by judging the fact she's stepping back, he concluded something. She was probably scared or something along the lines of that. "uh, kiddo! why'd ya run there? i just asked ya a harmless question. if somethin's botherin/ ya, you can tell me. i'm right here and very willing to listen," he said to her. He wondered if he was doing the right thing, but he's already gone this far so he can't back out now.
