[div class=p]personality| juliette is a rather sweet, down to earth girl who is often described as kind, caring, and intuitive by her friends. she's outgoing and loves to help make others happy, often through her music. although she is incredibly outgoing, juliette refrains from going to large parties where she doesn't know a lot of people. at first, juliette can be kind of shy and prefers whoever she meets to do the talking. once juliette is comfortable, she is a chatter bug who loves hanging out with her friends and having a good time.

although her soft demeanor may make her seem easy to mess with, juliette is incredibly headstrong and brave. she is a very hard person to push around and works as hard as she can to get what she wants in her career and academics. she's great under stress and also often acts like a mediator when her friends are having problems. this comes at a fault, though. juliette has a habit of taking on too much and helping others more than she helps herself which can lead to a burnout. when that does happen, she shuts down and refuses to talk about it unless there's someone she really trusts helping her.

[div class=p]bio| juliette was born in rochester, new york as the firstborn child. her mother is a pediatric surgeon and her father is a banker. when juliette was seven, her little brother jonas was born. the two were very close from the start, even despite the seven year age gap between them.

she had a harder time than most kids with her academics. she struggled immensely with almost every subject but specifically with the languages. although her parents pushed her to go to a private elementary school, juliette simply couldn't get the grades that were needed to get into the school. attending school was stressful for her and she hated going each day. there was only one class that she loved and it was her music class.

her parents decided to keep her in a basic elementary school and instead focus their money into music lessons for juliette. reading sheet music was hard for her but she enjoyed playing music so much that she made it work. it was discovered that she has perfect pitch, a rare ability to be able to tell what note is being played simply by ear without training. instead of reading sheet music, her music instructors helped her learn to play by ear and repetition instead of sheet music. this method takes a little bit longer but it works incredibly well for juliette.

it was no surprise to juliette's parents that when she was applying for university that she applied for music. she had a difficult time getting in but eventually made it on auditions alone. she works at a local music school as a music tutor since she isn't fully trained to be an actual teacher. with her savings, she moved off campus during her third year. while on campus one day during her fourth year, she saw a flyer for a band called return to venus that was looking for a keyboardist. juliette quickly auditioned and got in, hoping that the band would be the big break she was looking for.

[div class=p]personality| evi is incredibly well known around campus for being the mysterious guy. unless you're close with him, like the members of area 51, he's incredibly private with his life. he has no interest in airing his dirty laundry out for the entire world to see and is cautious to keep himself out of drama where he can. he makes frequent appearances at parties, since his close friends are often there and he uses them to gain publicity for himself and the band, but never hosts any of his own. some people find his mysterious demeanor alluring but levi simply uses it as a way to protect himself from the harsh world around him.

while levi may seem cold, he's actually a very caring individual. when he cares about someone, in either a romantic or platonic sense, he does so in a way that may make him seem completely indifferent to you. he's not the kind of guy that seems like a good shoulder to cry on. if you want the cold, hard truth, go to levi for advice as he holds no punches. this honesty has lost him many friends and has given him a rather sour reputation among strangers but he doesn't mind, he prides himself in being transparent and not difficult to understand. the biggest downfall about levi is his pure inability to show emotions. in front of the cameras or on stage, he's bubbly and happy and flirty and charismatic. out of the public eye, levi struggles immensely with showing the same amount of emotional vulnerability. he has a hard time expressing how he feels, leading him to break down when no one is around. even worse, if he has romantic feelings for you, good luck with trying to get him to admit it. he views emotional attachment to others as an express lane to pain for any parties involved.

[div class=p]bio| levi's childhood should have been picture perfect. he was born into a wealthy family of five in tallahassee, florida. his father, ethan beckett, was a major political player running for senate at the time of levi's birth. his mother was an esteemed lawyer. levi is the youngest of three children and the only son his parents ever had.

being the youngest of four kids, it was expected that levi wasn't going to get the same amount of attention as his sisters. however, his parents spent more time at work than with him, leaving him feeling abandoned and with the need to perfect himself to get attention. he was an incredibly intelligent child and was considered gifted. he attended the same private schools in elementary and secondary school as his sisters did. levi got involved in student counsel, sports teams, and competed in academic competitions.

no matter how much he did, it was clear that he would never live up to his sisters and his parents made sure he knew that. his eldest sisters, holland and kelly, recieved grants in university and opened up their own very successful business at just twenty and twenty one respectively. his youngest sister, ann, followed in their mother's footsteps and became a well respected lawyer and, later on, a fantastic judge. there was no doubt that levi was just as talented and smart but his passions didn't sit in his academic career. the fight for his parents' attention through academics made him feel completely turned off by it all.

no, his passion was music. it was not at all a respectable profession for the beckett family. levi participated secretly in the school musicals for years but got busted during his senior year of high school when he was nominated for a district award for best lead male and his parents caught wind of it. he was faced with a hard decision: stop playing music and study economics or politics in university or lose contact with his family; they "would not have a failure" in the family. so, levi left those dreams behind and signed up to attend summit university in los angeles for economics.

it was at the end of his first year of his master's degree in economics that he couldn't resist the temptation of music any longer. hearing about the battle of the bands starting in the fall, he began holding auditions for a band that he decided to name area 51. however he always introduced himself to everyone under his stage name, levi andrews, in hopes to keep his parents from finding out. managing a band and maintaining a 4.0gpa is difficult but levi is always up to the challenge.

basic overview|Probably the most prominent thing about his personality is how laid back he is. Dill is rarely fazed by anything and usually goes with the flow and has a decent sense of humor which makes him pretty likable. The other side of his laidbackness is that he's ungodly lazy. He spends nearly all of his free time on the couch, playing guitar, video games, watching movies, or toking up and just kind of doing nothing. And yeah he's a big stoner. He doesn't really try at much but gets by with mediocrity. This also applies to the band, but that's the one thing he's exceptionally skilled at, so he can play lead guitar even without much effort. This is kind of a frustrating element of his personality. He's also not super smart.
In college, although he's fairly popular in some circles, most people don't know him. He knows a little bit about most everyone though. He's pretty fun at parties, the type to get drunk and do something weird, and he usually gets way louder when drunk. When it comes to relationships, he'll treat his friends well and never get up in their business but if they bring their business to him, he'll deal with it pretty calmly. He also doesn't put all too much effort in making friends, usually just waiting for them to come to him. When it comes to romance, his laid-back nature comes off as noncommittal, so he gets dumped pretty fast. He's pretty loyal to his friends and partners despite appearances.

Regularly, her father would travel for work, and as a result of both this and being home-schooled by her mom, the mother-daughter relationship thrived. Eden loved learning new things with her mom, and the two of them had an especially good time making up songs and singing them together.

Continue normally until about age 16, wherein Eden's mom was diagnosed with terminal cancer, and then died soon after. The young girl, in her mourning, continued to write songs, and though they darkened a bit in content, they became much more emotionally impactful. After performing a song at her mother's funeral, she was encouraged by an uncle to start taking voice lessons. She entered the world of public schooling as a sophomore in high school, and instead of being a lost, timid, socially-stunted rich kid, she flourished in every social situation.

As she transitioned into the world of higher-learning, Eden became sort of a prominent figure among SULA's students. In her third year of undergrad, she entered a talent competition on campus and won second place. It was through this that she met some of her fellow band-members. She's been dedicated to the band's success ever since, and is now majoring in gender studies, persuing it not only because it was a subject her mother was very passionate about, but something that Eden is passionate as well, especially as the figurehead of a successful, all-female musical group.

To put it simply, Eden presents herself as a halfway-point between the "mom friend" and the manic pixie dream girl. she's a very positive person, but not so much that she could be considered a pushover. She has very strong beliefs, and will not hesitate to express them. Any hatefulness spoken in her presence is quickly shut down with a wrath that seems almost unbecoming of such a "sweet little thing."

She's fiercely loyal to her friends and band mates, and will do anything to help them out, be it listening to their troubles, buying them dinner, or helping them figure out that chord progression. Inversely, she isn't one to share much about herself, and hates relying on the help of others, strictly because she doesn't wish to inconvenience anyone.

Make no mistake, despite seeming like a delicate waif of a thing, she has a tremendous stage presence that makes her especially popular with the fans.

bio
Eden was raised as the only child to a rather upper class family. Regularly, her father would travel for work, and as a result of both this and being home-schooled by her mom, the mother-daughter relationshipthrived. Eden loved learning new things with her mom, and the two of them had an especially good time making up songs and singing them together.

Continue normally until about age 16, wherein Eden's mom was diagnosed with terminal cancer, and then died soon after. The young girl, in her mourning, continued to write songs, and though they darkened a bit in content, they became much more emotionally impactful. After performing a song at her mother's funeral, she was encouraged by an uncle to start taking voice lessons. She entered the world of public schooling as a sophomore in high school, and instead of being a lost, timid, socially-stunted rich kid, she flourished in every social situation.

As she transitioned into the world of higher-learning, Eden became sort of a prominent figure among SULA's students. In her third year of undergrad, she entered a talent competition on campus and won second place. It was through this that she met some of her fellow band-members. She's been dedicated to the band's success ever since, and is now majoring in gender studies, persuing it not only because it was a subject her mother was very passionate about, but something that Eden is passionate as well, especially as the figurehead of a successful, all-female musical group.

Personality: River is what some would call an extroverted introvert. She is generally an outgoing, happy person that is kind and easily makes friends. River often finds herself as a confidant to the people around her. She's extremely good at listening, and would keep other's secrets until the day she died. Biography (Trigger Warning): River was born in Middle-Of-Nowhere, Kansas to a farmer father and a nurse mother. The second of two children, they had a happy family for a few years. But around the age of 5, something changed between her parents. They no longer cared for each other, often fighting both with words and with fists. River was too young to understand what was going on at the time, but often cried herself to sleep to the sounds of her parents' screams. Shortly thereafter, her parents divorced in a battle much more like a war than a civil dispute. River and her older brother were at the center of it, used as pawns by their parents to get revenge on one another. Eventually, the divorce was final, and custody was given to the mother.

Throughout her childhood, River noticed her mother's love for her slowly decrease into hatred. While her brother went along with their mother's antics and agreed to never see their father, River wasn't willing to give up a parent like that. Her mother hated the relationship River had with her father, and began to punish her for it. Even though she was the younger of the two, River was forced to take care of her brother. She did all of his chores, made him food, brought him drinks and snacks while he watched TV. When she reached her teenage years, things began to get worse. River's mother had begun to belittle her, calling her worthless, a waste of space, and better off never born. At the age of 16, the brunette was forced to get a full time job overnight to pay the bills while her mother spent her money on fancy dinners, trips River wasn't invited on, and the newest technology.

River fell into her bad habits around this time as well. She took up drugs, drinking, and smoking as a coping mechanism. It wasn't healthy, but it did the job. When her brother went off to college, River was left alone living with her mother. That was when the physical abuse began. River often found herself covering up bruises with make-up and claiming that the burns and scratches were from her own clumsiness. But, in reality, they weren't. She kept all of it a secret, even from her father, and just lived with it. The day after her high school graduation, River packed up her life and moved to LA for college, cutting off all ties with her mother. She has been there ever since.

Personality: Orion isn't normally what you would think of as a drummer. He doesn't really have the high energy, sporadic personality that one would associate with being able to play percussion instruments. Though he goes against the stereotypical grain in that sense, Orion is still a master of his field. Using his charismatic personality and stage presence, Orion inserts performance value in his music via drumstick tricks and playful smirks. Ry is a fairly laid-back dude, sometimes due to drugs and other times just because of his personality type. He tends not to take things too seriously, and likes to just have fun.

On the other end of the spectrum, Orion is a bit of a deep thinker. He often ponders the controversial and paradoxical questions of the world. Biography: Orion was born to a 19-year-old woman who had recently immigrated from Greece to the bustling city of New York. In the first year of living on her own in a foreign country, his mother got mixed up in the wrong crowds. It's safe to say that Orion was anything but planned. Because his father denied that Orion was actually his son, Orion didn't really have a father figure or positive male role model for a good chunk of his childhood. Because his mother worked as a waitress and took night school paralegal classes, Orion had to grow up fairly quickly. Before he even reached double digits in age, Orion was already staying at home by himself, taking care of the house, and cooking for his mom and him. He learned responsibility quickly and, for that reason, never was super upset about the way his childhood turned out.

When Orion was about 11 years old, his mother met a kind businessman from Georgia during a meeting with the law group she worked for as a paralegal. The two had immediate chemistry, and began dating. Shortly there after, the businessman opened up a new branch of his business in NYC to be closer to Orion's mother and Orion. A few months into dating, Orion met the businessman for the first time, and they immediately bonded. The businessman took on a fatherly role and taught Orion about things like fixing cars, cooking, sports, music, and even how to talk to girls. They were fast friends, and Orion looked up to the man. Within that same year, the businessman became Orion's step-father.

The new family moved into a nice apartment in a safer part of town. Orion was able to start drum lessons, and go to a more prestigious school. Orion finally had someone he could call "Dad." It felt like they had finally caught some luck in their lives. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. During Orion's final semester in high school, his mother confessed that she had been having an affair with her boss for a couple of years. Though Orion's parents tried to make their marriage work, the distrust Orion's stepfather felt and the lack of love Orion's mother experienced couldn't be mended. Definitely not wanting to get caught up in any divorce drama, Orion moved to LA to start college. He still talks to his parents on a regular basis, but refuses to get in the middle of anything.

She's also a hard worker; people question how she can juggle her studies and modeling career, and sign up for the Battle of the Bands. Admittedly, she gets very little sleep on many days, but she feeds off the energy of being so active and doing things she loves, causing her to barely feel the fatigue (it's really, really not healthy, though). Bio| Jae-hee was one of the last to join Return to Venus. Before then, however, she already had a decently strong online presence, due to her being somewhat of a social media influencer, and doing a few modeling jobs on the side. She started doing such work since sophomore year of high school (her professional name Yunhee was adopted since then).

She was born in South Korea and lived there until she was 11, when she migrated to the U.S. with her family and entered her first year of middle school. The first few years were a challenge, as she had learnt some English in Korea but had not yet achieved fluency. But Jae-hee is nothing if not a hard worker. She was never one to shy away from challenges either. Her sociable personality allowed her to quickly become fluent, and when she made mistakes, she laughed at herself and learnt from them. Now it's almost impossible for a stranger to tell that English isn't her first language. She considers herself very lucky, because the school she attended didn't have many students with racial prejudices, although it'd be a lie to say there were none at all.

Jae-hee's family is fairly middle-class - just a very normal family. When Jae-hee got her first modeling offer at 16, her parents were doubtful. It was unknown ground to them, and they'd heard about a lot of such scams. But she was excited; it was something interesting, something new! So they relented, but proceeded with extreme caution. Fortunately, it turned out to be the real deal, and Jae-hee made her modeling debut in a rather popular magazine. Soon, agencies started taking note of Jae-hee for her height and visuals, and the offers started coming in. She signed with a fairly distinguished company, and grew to love her job. Her parents did set certain restrictions on the amount of time she could spend on it, though, as they wanted her to maintain her studies. She agreed, as she wasn't sure whether she'd want to do modeling long-term anyway. For now, she just wanted to enjoy the ride.

When she heard about the Battle of the Bands, it piqued her interest immediately. Hearing that Return to Venus was in need of a bassist, she quickly signed up. She had actually taken lessons when she was younger, but she'd stopped around the time she started modeling, due to a shift of focus. It wasn't too difficult to pick it up again though (admittedly, she did spend a few weeks watching YouTube videos of bass players, and practicing with a few friends who were bass players), and now her skill is as good as any.
