Fantasy Battle Academy

"...You idiot.." he muttered quietly.
Why do I have an idiot and a frickin' chicken on my team? The years here are going to be really great, huh? he thought, sighing.
"Oi, chicken. Can you speak? Or even understand us?" he added quietly.

Just how exactly does one do a test with a chicken? he thought to himself.
Aaron continued looking at the chicken, as if he was waiting for an answer.
Agh! Idiot! How does a chicken even speak? How did a chicken get here? There were a lot of questions in his head and it was really ticking him off. He felt fire and calmed down a bit.

Deep breaths. Deep breaths...he thought.
Aaron just went to his desk and banged his head on it once more.

Botch didn't show an obvious reaction to "Cane MacArthur's" rendition of his sad backstory, nor his explanation for why he can safely live as a vampire among humans. However, when the bells sung their song heralding for the mentors' departures from the students' dorms, Botch's muscles eased in subtle relief. "I couldn't quite get a proper read on what kind of person our 'Lord-self' rightly is, but I can tell you as much as that learning under him is, undoubtedly, going to prove exhausting."

After storing his hunter's knife in his ragged right shoe, Botch eased himself onto the bed, showing no need to prepare further outside of having Flagellation at the ready. "Miss Hatate, we hadn't heard a lot of what kind of special abilities you had that warrant you being accepted into this particular academy. Would you mind to enlighten us?"

Mademoiselle Tigre?

Miriam opened her beak wide, her way of smiling as a chicken, when the door to her room finally opened. Her mentor, Ryuga, spoke to her passingly. She nodded her head in acknowledgement as he said her name then she looked to her new roommates. Aaron was first to approach her. Taking advantage of her form, she went up to him and rubbed her feathered head against his legs. She couldn't help it; he was so devilishly handsome. Moments later, she was found in the arms of another man, she flung her wings about frighteningly. BUH-BUH-BUCK! BUCK! BUCK! BUH-BUCK! she screamed. Her bucks would be translated as follows: Tu es completement débile! On t'a bercé trop près du mur? She was clearly unhappy. Once she was placed on the bed, she had all her feathers ruffled and her beady little eyes stared at him intently. His bowing did not please her.

If she could change back to a human to slap him in the face, she would. But, whenever she transforms without consent, she is unable to change back with consent. She was about to be a grilled chicken with all this anger burning inside of her. Her lack of communication and ability frustrated her profusely; she wanted to pounce and attack the man. With that in mind, the small ruffled-up chicken
*poofed* into a large purple tiger. Alas, with her abled arms, she smacked the boy with her large paw beside his head. She roared as she tried to tell him he was an idiot and to never touch her like that again. She then looked at Aaron more calmly and almost purred, 'Except for him. He can touch me.'

As she looked to Aaron, she saw a look of devastation in his ... motion. The large feminine tiger padded over. At first, she was walking on all four paws, but then she was on her hands and feet. The human emotion of concern washed away her animalistic side. She placed her hand gently on his back and cooed, "
Monsieur Aaron, what is the matter?"

Rojelio was examining Cane's emotion as he seemed very angry, especially more now. Without even noticing, Rojelio was then struck by the hand of his Mentor. "What the-" his words were cut off from the sounds of the bells. Cane MacArthur announced his departure and the door closes. Rojelio felt no pain, but he knows when he is hit due to a function inside him that notifies him of collisions. A little confused, he looked around at Botch and Hatate. Hatate obviously didn't see as she was facing the balcony taking in the view. "Did no one see that?" Rojelio questioned. "Our mentor just struck me! Is he that engulfed in his own pride that we are not allowed to ask questions?" For the first time, he was upset, maybe even mad. Everything was exciting to him, everything was a new experience he wanted to learn. Now he's upset, the first thing to upset him. Upset that the man who struck him will be the one who watches over them. He placed his hand on his cheek noticing a dent from Cane's action. "I can tell you for certain," he started as he walked over to his desk, "I will not be kind to such actions. This time was a surprise as I did not calculate that as being a possibility." Rojelio sat at his desk, pulled the face of his fake skin back as if it were a hood, and took off the protective metal layer of his actual face off. "This is very unacceptable behavior for a Battle Academy mentor," he continued as he pulled some tools out from his luggage. His face uncovered showed his eyes as if they were floating, as the same with his teeth as they moved every time he spoke, and the rest of his face were dark wires and metal mechanical parts. "I will not notify the academy, rather I'll have them kick me out if he strikes me again for I will not be kind a second time, as I stated." Rojelio groaned as he fixed the protective layer that served as his face. It was a shock to him, a surprise that the man who will watching over them struck him in the face. This was all he could think of. Another part of him wished he could see just how the man fares in action to study and be ready for precaution. He had never been this upset, not even when he the mutated shark he had to restrain bit his leg off from his hip. This was definitely a new feeling, but he was too upset to be excited that it was a new emotion he felt.

When the chicken walked over him and rubbed its head against his leg, it completely took him by surprise.

W-what... the absolute.. hell.

When Azul held her and he saw the chicken's reaction, it was quite satisfying to him, but the thought of the chicken rubbing-- Agh! Why does this happen to me of all people?

He watched the chicken... become a tiger? Then, the tiger smacked Azul. He chuckled quietly. He wasn't a sadist, Aaron just found it quite satisfying.

Aaron had so many questions in his head. It was really ticking him off. He went to his desk and banged his head on it. Then, he felt a pat on his back. He was about to say, "What do you want, Azul?" but heard a voice that definitely was not Azul's.

He turned around, meeting Miriam's eyes.
"W-what?..." He was speechless.

Clair O'Reilly (Cu Chulainn)

The second Torga shut the door Clair began assembling her weapon again and as she did so she also addressed both her roommates saying "Torga huh, even my team have heard stories about that guy. He's no light weight, this is going to be no easy task. The probability of success is around three percent in my opinion. But I've seen missions with a success rate of two percent go off without a hitch several times."

Clair finished assembling her rifle and continued on to start filling the magazines with rubber bullets she had located in yet another one of her cases. As she worked away at the magazines Clair began to speak once again but this time in a much more official tone
"Torga, More officially known as Timothy Garfield. The guys a monster, there's something not right about him. He takes on beings no one in their right mind would even consider looking at. I remember one of the guys in my squad done up a report on him one time, big fanboy, anyway I can't really recall what or if he has an ability but I know for sure we can't afford to underestimate him for a split second."

With a resonating click sound, Clair finished her preparations and loaded her rifle, all she needed to do now was await the assistant "Look, I know you guy's don't know me all that well and granted I don't know you either. But I have training for this kind of thing, If you let me lead you I'll do my best to teach you some of what I know during the mission. what do you say ?"

Okay, things to remember. Call her Seniorita, because she is your mentor. Also, don't forget that there is a "robot" in the cafeteria, whatever that could mean. Noire watched her leave the room, wearing a bell in her neck for some reason and hearing the dings of a bell somewhere. After a bit, an announcement that reminds them to prepare for their activity reminds Noire to prepare. He's not exactly sure what to prepare though. Should he be bringing his superhero costume? Maybe it's too early to wear it; it's just the first day. Then again, it is their clothing during missions, according to father.

Noire decided not to wear it, since they weren't told to do so. He just removed his blazer, since it seems like it would be a physical-based event. That's one thing he knows for himself. Then he remembered they were gonna do this under the thing they call the Sun. That thing can burn people(, I think).

Noire looked at Lasky, wondering if he'll be fine. He'll be his group member, right? He seems like a promising one at that, too.

Azul Naximus
He was surprised by the fact that the chicken had not only turn into a tiger, but a human as well. When it was a purple tiger, it smacked Azul. However, the smack he had received didn't scare him; Azul had fought some criminals in the past, so he was pretty used to it. He was confused at first, but after the tiger turned into a girl, Azul caught the picture. A shape shifter on our team!? thought Azul. Heh, now that's a great addition to our plan! Though he had a determined face, it suddenly changed into a shocking expression. He totally knew the purple-haired girl from before; she was probably with the fox and the white girl. Does she recognize him as Aquarius? Maybe not, his outfit mostly covered his face.

She was trying to comfort Aaron, which in Azul's opinion, pretty kindly. He was slightly peeved that she didn't apologize for smacking him. But then again, he did provoke it to happen. Trying to not be overly peeved, he had to get the two straight to strategizing. Who knows how much time they have until they are escorted to the forest? Azul was becoming stressed right now. Being serious and determined, Azul interrupted the two, "Hey, before we do introductions again. We have to plan-er strategize-to get the bells from our mentor. And quickly!"

He didn't care if "Miriam" knew him or if Aaron was surprised, they had to plan. No more distractions. At the moment, Azul was becoming strict like his mother. So no mischievous, fun-loving Azul right now. Time was ticking. Azul immediately grabbed his notebook and pencil for their plan. He was concentrating on their goal.

Aaron was about to say a million things to Miriam but held it back. Azul was right, they had to plan.

"We can create steam. Maybe it'll block our mentor's sight and she can..." he didn't meet eyes with Miriam or look at her at all. "She can get the bells." he simply said.

Okay, that's a pretty stupid idea now that I think about it. But it could work...

"Any better plans? That's all I've got."

While hearing the male's "tragic" backstory, Hatate mindlessly giggled in her head but wasn't showing it. She rolled her eyes briefly before stretching, raising herself off the bed. The red haired girl stretched both her arms out one by one then took a turn towards her feet. Such a drama queen for a male....does he think that we will give him pity? Well he's tough out of luck. She thought, taking her eyes off the window and looking up at the ceiling. The girl heard the bell sound from the hallway, this meaning that their mentor probably had to leave them.

Hearing her roommate slightly mock their mentor, Hatate smiled a bit as she turned around to face them. "That I can agree on, 100 percent." She mumbled, watching as her mentor left the room in a hurry. Once the nut job mentor was out of the room, Hatate started to get ready for the mission that they were going soon. She took out her bandages and slowly wrapped them around her hands neatly before placing on her black gloves. "Oh, that's simple. There's a reason why they call me the Twin Tailed Dragon, my power is Chi manipulation. These gloves help me limit my use, so I don't accidentally go all out on a person." She informed her two partners, holding up her hands to show them.

Nemu woke up when she heard the bells go off, she yawned while glancing up at the others. Groggily, the female picked herself off of the bed While not intentional, the ice cream girl read the thoughts of her companions and gathered the gist of what she had missed in the brief time that she was asleep. Seeing as her mentor had left the room, she could only assume it was due to the bells earlier. She had probably passed out no more than 5 minutes from the looks of things, she still felt sleepy.

Nemu listened in on what her female counterpart in the room had to say, nodding her head in agreement. We would be at an extreme disadvantage if we were going into this test head first without a plan. The best way is to regroup and form a mindset of objectives that would be most suited for each of our roles. The girl thought, looking directly at Clair. "I agree with Clair fully, we should plan as much as we can before this test." She stated.

Botch elected that engaging Rojelio in his loud complains about the mentor would only agitate the issue further. Allowing time for Rojelio's rage to subside, Botch continued to entertain himself with Hatate's company. "Ah, hm... Suppressors, I see. Quite interesting. What, if I may ask, are the practical applications of the ability to manipulate chi?" He had his hands folded in his lap around Flagellation, sitting with his back straight and was wholly facing Hatate. He seems totally engrossed in the conversation -- and while he was interested, not nearly as much as he showed. Proper body language and posture was something he had to learn when travelling, lest he wished to get on the wrong people's "lists", as a lot of people early in his second life put it. He didn't care to find out what exactly it entailed being on one of these "lists", but he knew well enough he wouldn't have enjoyed it. "Earlier, me and Rojelio were discussing the potential synergy between his abilities and mine. If we're going to be teammates, it'd be beneficial if we all knew what the others could do."

Mademoiselle Mim

Aaron's perplexed look was immediately reflected on Miriam's expression, "Quelle?" Though he left the impression that he had a million thoughts, he seemed to have not acted upon them. Instead, he and Mim, herself, looked to Azul. He had a familiar voice she detested, but she tried not to reflect it and pushed her emotions aside for the sake of the mission. She listened to Aaron as he thought of as plan, but to Miriam it lacked certain aspects. She spoke up with that in mind, "This is a good plan, mais we do not know how to track our mentor." She rose her hand in the air as though she had a solution, "Mais! Worry not my friends! I can be a snake." At first, she figured she sounded silly, but she knew with her tongue as a snake, she had a great sense of smell. Not many people know this, but she knew because she can be a snake.

Using the damp surface to catch scent particles on her tongue, as she's a snake, and carry them to a special organ in the mouth called Jacobson's organ, where she can identify food or danger or Monsieur Ryuga. She, then transitioned her finger in the air to 'halt' position with her entire hand, "Mais again, I cannot communicate as an animal to beings. You must simply follow me once I change form." She looked to both the men before her for their input. She was glad, though, if anyone was injured on the field, she could tend to them. This was something she would like to mention at some point in their stratagem.

Jaxson let out a slight chuckle at Torga's private message to him about the girls. He was glad that this guy was their mentor, he was entertaining to say the least. Shortly after he took out the bells they would have to retrieve. Torga made his departing statement and left. Jaxson would remember his scent, well, do the best he could. So, it was starting time. Jax couldn't be any more excited to get to work and set an example of what he could do. He may just be a fox from Boston, but you sure as hell shouldn't underestimate him. He turned around and saw that Clair was already prepping her guns. Jaxson went on to practice a few fighting moves. Some kicks, punches, and blocks. Clair seemed to know a bit more about this guy as she went on about how he was a lot more challenging than he seemed. As she finished and Nemu pitched in herself, Jaxson looked at Clair. "Well, me and him got something in common. We both shouldn't be underestimated" he said confidently. Jax knew what he could do, some people who didn't learned real quick. "Seeing as you do have the better combat training, I think you should take the lead as well" Jaxson said, agreeing with them both. This was going to one hell of a first day

Elias was glad to hear that the mentor found his story intriguing. In fact, he even asked questions to go deeper. They were good questions, ones Elias would be glad to enter. He was about answer when someone else entered. Assumably Eye, she was a pretty blonde woman. Can't wait to here her story. As Elias was about to answer the mentor's questions, he took out the bells and properly introduced himself as Adam Adamson. Quite a name. This was presumably a signal that they were starting. Elias stood up and looked at Tyler and Eye. "Welp, looks like we're getting started. Shall we go over tactics? Plans?" he asked. They should at least think about how to approach this rather than go in head on without any kind of plan.

Rojelio heated up the dent in his face layer to push it back into proper position. He placed the metal frame over his face, tightened it into place and fixed his false skin over. "Depending on what it is your capable of," he joined in as if he were not just complaining a few seconds ago, "we may have a better advantage over the other teams by becoming synchronized and think on our feet." Rojelio returned his tools to his luggage and walked over to the foot of Botch's bed as Hatate readied herself. "You yourself stated you robbed the most protected bank within Beijing," he continued towards Hatate, "and, with a video I just watched in my head from security footage, you are no stranger to improvisation if it comes to that."

Hearing Rojelio mentioned security footage from the bank made Botch realize how relieved he is that it seems that Rojelio had forgotten all about their planned viewing of the footage from the Phantom invasion. He knew that certain details present in that footage would throw unnecessary and falsified, yet justifiable, suspicion Botch's way, and having to explain himself was the last thing he wanted. He elected to, for the time being, further distract him by engaging him in this train of thought. "Yes, improvisational skills would be integral in a teammate for me and Rojelio. Both me and Rojelio are equipped with heavily versatile armaments. So a teammate able to quickly adapt to such would certainly be vital."

Azul Naximus
Azul wrote down the suggestions in his notebook. The plan seemed a bit loose. They only came up a steam cover up and snake attack. There had to be more to add to the strategy. What if it didn't work? What if the steam goes out too quickly? What if the plan doesn't work out how they would it to work? Gah! All these questions are stressing me out! Azul thought as he rubbed his forehead. Azul couldn't think of anything else. But then, an idea came to mind. Several ideas actually!

"Do you guys know anybody that's here?" he asked the two. "If so, do you think they'll help? If not, I have some ideas on my water manipulation." He didn't know if you are either allowed to collaborate with the other teams. He was going out with a hunch. Azul could only remember the fox and white haired chick. But, that was when he was Aquarius. On the other hand, Azul is capable to shape the water into anything he wanted. A water ball, a whip, a fist, or anything else. Though, it did depend on how much water there is. He didn't want to use his ice powers since Miriam might recognize him.

"Uh, Miriam, do you know anybody?" He asked again. I'm playing dumb, but clearly she knows more about them than me, Azul reminded himself. But what if she is on my act? I don't want to be humiliated!

"..I don't think we can even ask for help... plus I don't think they'd help us anyway. They'll be trying to get their bells." said Aaron. What a horrible idea. he thought. "Maybe we can create obstacles that can slow him down if he's running or something." suggested Aaron. Sure, his idea was also horrible, but that was all he could think of.

"...D..d-do you h-have any.." he paused for a moment, looking awkwardly at Miriam. "...ide-ideas?" he tried his hardest to not stutter, but of course, he failed. The plan they made was pretty horrible now that he thought about it. Steam and a snake? That surely wasn't going to be their plan.

"We have to think of something better..."

Alright, its time. You all heard a knock on your doors and assistants comes in, telling you to come out of your dorms. Once you do so, they then take you at the back of the academy where the forest lies.

full

Once you get there, the assistants have you lined up per team and then they begin to explain the objective. You already know that in order to complete this test, you should find your mentor and snatch the bells. However, the assistant also added that if you don't complete this before lunch time, you fail the test and you will be deported back to Upton. With the explanation done, the assistants have you ready up and with a blow of a whistle, you all make a mad dash into the forest.

"W-what? We'll be forced to leave?... this has got to be a joke.. this is just our first day!" he mumbled to himself. Aaron was now very worried. We'll just have to try really hard... "Azul! Miriam! Come over here!" he yelled, hoping they could hear him. They still didn't have a plan and they had to make one quickly or else they wouldn't get the chance to come again.
