Personality: Jean Paul is a shy young man who would normally hurt a fly. He doesn't like most of what he does as Azrael, but understands that the angel can be used as a force for good. Despite his peaceful nature, he will do what he must to protect the innocent that those he cares about. Due to his sheltered up bringing, Jean Paul comes off as naive at times. He tends to like corny pulp magazines about hardened private eyes and lawmen of the old west.
Jean Paul's other personality of Azrael believes is an avenging angel. It knows not mercy or forgiveness. Only swift judgement.
Backstory: Born and bred to be a holy assassin and punisher for the secret Order of St. Dumas, Jean Paul Valley was genetically engineered since conception to be something more than human. After birth, his mind was conditioned to have a separate personality that believed it was Azrael, the Angel of Vengeance. At the age of 16, Jean Paul began serving full time as Azrael. In an encounter with Batman, the Dark Knight managed to convince Azrael of the corrupt nature of the Order of St. Dumas, and together they destroyed the organization, and the person who had delivered him to the Order. With a shattered faith and no direction of his own, Azrael was taken in by Batman and given a new life in Gotham, where he acts as an Agent of the Bat.
Powers\Abilities\Skills: Enhanced strength, speed, durability, reflexes, and healing. Advanced training in hand to hand combat, as well as with bladed weapons. Training in computer systems and other technology. Unofficial training as a paramedic. Basic acrobatic training.
Equipment\Gadgets\Weapons: Flaming sword, flaming short sword, flaming gauntlet blades, Batarangs, grapple gun, dagger, armored costume, smoke pellets, gas mask and different vision filters built into his mask.

Most times when the Azrael personality takes over, Jean Paul still influences it, leading to it being more of an amalgamation of both personalities.
(Pending on approval of other character) Lives with Cassandra Cain in a converted warehouse payed for half by Bruce Wayne and half from plundered St. Dumas funds. They are partners in crime fighting.
