Basics
Name: Azrael Abamore
Age: 337, Born November 29, 1678
Race: Archdemon/ Half-Demon
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Occupation: Demon Hunter since 1999
- Appearance
Height: 6'2'' ft. (1.8 m.)
Weight: 169 lbs. (76.6 kg.)
Hair: Azrael has what can only be considered shaggy and unkempt hair, that is toned with light shades of blackish brown and stress induced grey hairs that seem to add to the color in a subtle way.
Eyes: Azrael's eyes are a type of dark brown that shifts into a type of brick color when angered.
Body: Azrael has somewhat of an athletic build, more of an inbetween of muscular and skinny.
Attire: Azrael's usual attire consists of a brown leather trench coat, any type of long-sleeved shirt, and a pair of jeans. However if he wants to be fancy he'll put on a white long-sleeved button up shirt and a pair of khaki colored dress pants. For footwear Azrael wears a pair of black, steel toed boots that he somehow manages to make look new after each mission of his.
- Personality
Mainly the kind of person who takes seriousness to a whole other level, Azrael takes shit from nobody. Despite this however, he isn't the type of demon to easily blow a fuse, even if someone were find a way to seriously irritate him to the point of breaking his silent, placative demeanor. He doesn't bat an eye when he's out killing demons, not unless they're ones he feels don't deserve what's coming to them and the same goes for people as well. Despite his somewhat silent demeanor, he has been known to be sarcastic most of the time he utters a word, much to the disdain of others who do manage to get a word out of him. He can easily become disappointed by the actions of others and holds high standards for anyone and anything that he meets, being a little judgmental, most of the time, or very judgmental a bit of the time. He is extremely headstrong and adamant, and is also very persistent when he sets his mind to doing something; not quitting until he has accomplished his goal to the farthest of his ability. Although he knows that determination alone cannot get the job done, he will sometimes find himself aiding another in need but only if they really need it. Azrael finds it very distasteful when other people do things 'half-assed' and doesn't rush into anything, especially a fight, without finding a way to get the upper hand over the opponent. He finds a type of 'discuss', in the overly 'goody-goody two shoes' type of people, but not in a sense that makes him evil, just in a sense that their constant actions to help out any and every person in need. This trait however, shows that he is sometimes a hypocrite, due to to the fact that he goes out of his way to destroy any, if not all, malicious demons which happen to cross his path, for the sake of other people's safety.
- History
Born in the late 1670's around the middle of the colonial period, Azrael grew up to be known as a 'demon child'. He had never really shown any traits as to what he truly was and knew little about what really lied dwelling within him, but his mother knew what he was. She knew this because she knew what Azrael's father really was and It wasn’t long until he had disappeared from the face of the planet and she was left alone to take care of a half-demon spawn. However, she eventually did find another man, the farmer’s son, who had accepted her and had soon grown to fall in love. She refused rid herself of Azrael however, mainly because she knew he'd be destined for great things and also because she feared that the others would find out and possibly deal with her as they saw fit. She went out of her way to protect her son when he couldn't protect himself as well as conceal the truth whenever prying eyes were about. When he grew up, people referred to him as a demon in human's flesh, mainly because of the way he acted around others. Through the years, things continued to get progressively worse.
At one point, the truth had to come out and eventually Azrael's mother had revealed to him that he really was son to a demon, what others had said about him being a demon were true, they just used it in a figurative sense however. While working in the fields, his father was assaulted by another denizen whose son was severely injured by Azrael, who had called him an uncultured demon swine. It was because of this fight, that he would eventually lose his 'father'. It was this argument that turned into a fight, which led to injury, which eventually led to an infection. In his little scuffle, the father had managed to actually stab himself with his own crop shearing equipment, somehow. This wound had eventually become infected with a severe case of gangrene which proved to much to bear for his father, who had passed away not more than several weeks after the incident. He was quickly buried afterwards, yet Azrael showed no emotion, some saying that he truly was a demon child, which only seemed to annoy him even more. He didn't go to church like most others either, he couldn't stand it, all the talk of hell and what not only made him think more about what he was. Eventually this gave people suspicions, and through several occurrences which had shown Azrael attending rather ‘supernatural’ events initiated by other teenagers his age when they thought they weren’t being watched, during a time in which the prosecution of people who were brought up to the gallows because they were thought to be witches was at an all-time high no less, his mother of all people was hung and later gotten rid of. He was fifteen when this had happened. This typically wasn’t a thing some child should have ever experienced and when he had shown his face to see his mother's hanging, the others had tried to constraint him. At that age, his ‘rage strength’ had become much more powerful, managing to overpower just about every adult in that small village of which Azrael resided in.
He escaped back into the house but with no reason to stay, Azrael found it best to leave this forsaken town and find some other place where the prosecution rate was low. However, the others wouldn't permit that, as they realized that he too, would impose on them with his ‘sorcery’ and 'devil work'. He knew they would try to have him executed much like his mother, so he decided to hatch a plan for himself. By nightfall he attempted to escape by small wooden boat. A boat which he had purposefully set aflame, trying to make it look as accidental as possible, not long after he had sailed off, which apparently was enough to make the people think he was dead, they were either just happy to get rid of him or were dumb enough to believe that he wasn't still alive to go check for themselves. With the spectacle able to be seen by those who were within viewing range, he was able to set that illusion in their mind while he silently swam away, disappearing into the darkness, never to be seen again; by those people at least. He later reappeared around the year of 1775, to participate in the revolutionary war. He appeared slightly older than he was when he had faked his death nearly one hundred years ago. Appearing to be around his early to mid-20’s he enlisted and eventually joined under the command of George Washington, seeing through to the end of the revolutionary war that he was alive in the end. After the war had ended, however, he had decided to enlist himself for the Northwest Indian War. This war however, was not without casualties, which he was indeed, in a technical sense rather. Shortly after taking an arrow to the chest, he fell, the illusion of him being immortal shattered, but not necessarily. After minutes of being left alone on the battlefield, bloodied and amongst dozens of other dead or heavily injured men, he saw the arrow in his chest and quickly yanked it out, noticing that the wound was literally healing right in front of his very eyes.
He soon rejoined with the others and survived throughout the war which had continued for eight years. Soon after that conflict had been resolved however, Azrael had left back to Massachusetts, where he continued to live, before starting his nomadic life and moving around the states. He had realized that he wasn’t getting older, and that would pose a problem for those who lived around him or knew him. Every ten years or so, Azrael would move into a new apartment, house, city, or state and get a new job, as to avoid suspicion. Some fifty-three years after the end of the Northwest Indian War, Azrael had found himself yet again, enlisting in another war. He had effectively served in the Mexican-American War, the American Civil War, the Spanish American War, the 1st & 2nd Civil War, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and finally, the Persian Gulf War.
After that, Azrael had disappeared from the face of the Earth. In ‘reality’ however, he was taken from this plane of existence and dragged into another. Unknowing of whom or what had done this, he realized that he wouldn't be able to get back to the rather boring life he had until he had confronted the one in charge of his arrival to this alternate reality. Upon his arrival, the feeling of something trying to emerge from within him grew ever stronger, he didn't feel himself. He sometimes found himself arguing with his conscience about who was in control and in all honesty, thought he was just going insane. He completely dismissed the thought that there might have been something else his father had left behind. He knew this place would only make it worse and with that in mind, Azrael traversed this plain. It seemed to be more like a twisted version of the world he knew, with chaos, mangled structures, fire, gore, and darkness at every corner. The beings that resided there were no different. Their twisted and mangled forms had somehow managed to stay together, seemingly defying common human logic, these things were nothing compared to what Azrael saw while in war. Some of these beings were either gifted with abilities that could easily blow Azrael's healing factor out of the water or had weapons or weapon-like appendages which could easily obliterate Azrael in a matter of seconds and in several cases there were times when Azrael would have to run and hide from these demons. This alternate plain of existence was indeed nightmarish. He didn’t suffer from hunger or thirst; he didn’t feel the crippling effects of fatigue, he didn’t even grow tired, it seemed as if this hell either empowered him or purposefully made everything seem like one long nightmare. Everything blended into one bipolar day as Azrael delved deeper and deeper into this mysterious realm which only grew more hellish and twisted as he continued.
He had encountered what appeared to be a ruined city riddled with chaos, much brighter than the other areas due to the lava which bubbled up from every edge and crack, seeping into the streets; which made it difficult to pass without the thought of falling in and burning alive. The further he traveled however, the easier it was to make out the figure of a throne or rather just a large chair of some sort composed of rock, located at the top of a desiccated hill. As he continued to get closer to this stone throne, the more a figure of something humanoid sitting within the throne became apparent. It wasn’t until Azrael had made it about one hundred yards or so from the throne that he could make a clear identification of the thing that sat in the throne. This was no man, that fact was indeed apparent, but instead, a four armed bat-like monster with wing-like appendages on each arm. Before even thinking about saying screw it and running off, the fire breathing bat demon had introduced himself as Zedonius, the Ruler of Flame. Such a title obviously meant he had great power and because of that, Azrael was reluctant to stay any longer and face such a beast, but he shortly found out that there was no escaping this encounter. In a fraction of a second after the introduction, large inescapable walls of fire by every means he risen behind him, nearly scorching him as well as barring his escape; obviously this was the work of Zedonius. The large bat beast had then introduced himself more thoroughly, stating his title as an Archdemon and how what Azrael had just seen was only but a fraction of his true power, truly a testament to how great and powerful he was. After his introduction he gave Azrael an ultimatum, submit to his will or be destroyed. Azrael wasn't stupid enough to figure out if the ladder could be attempted, so of course he had no choice but to submit, and so Azrael became one of Zedonius’s many servants, to aid him whenever Azrael was called upon.
Upon conversation many hours after receiving his new 'job' Azrael had managed to start a conversation with the Ruler of Flame, only to find out that it was not him who dragged him to this hellish plain of existence. With that, Azrael took it upon himself to leave seeing as how he had no interest in getting sidetracked, he'd spent enough time fooling around as it was. He later decided to leave, breaking the ‘agreement’ that he had made with the fire demon and because of this, was soon chased after and stabbed through by a sword Zedonius had owned, which he had thrown with increased strength and precision fit for a demon of such high ranking. Azrael was now impaled onto a charred wall made of hot rock, speared through the stomach with a glowing sword made of a type of gem-like material which was nothing less than searing. Not long after he was stabbed through did blood start to drip down the length of the sword, causing it to react strangely. The hot obsidian rock started to grow from the wall and encase the blade, making a sheath comprised of stone, making it harder for Azrael to escape.
Just in the distance Azrael could see Zedonius flying at him full speed, planning to crush him against the wall with brute strength and momentum, but before he had managed to make it to Azrael, he had tensed for impact. Sensing as if Azrael was in danger however, almost if linked to him, the rock sheath exploded, releasing a blast of demonic energy which had sent Zedonius flying back. This blast had incidentally destroyed the obsidian wall that Azrael was impaled onto, thus releasing him. When Azrael realized the situation that he was in, he realized that Zedonius was coming towards him and also that the blade was still lodged inside of his stomach. With haste, Azrael quickly removed the sword from inside of him, which caused whatever was left of the rock sheath to come apart and crumble away, revealing a new, more demonically enhanced sword in place of the completely gem-like sword. Disgruntled and wanting his weapon back, Zedonius recklessly flew at Azrael with full speed. Azrael not having much experience with blades except with the ones that were on the end of his bayonet, ducked and lifted the sword, skewering the Archdemon exactly where Azrael had been skewered when he got close enough; thus, cleaving the Archdemon in half from the stomach down. With entrails splattered everywhere, his own rage had been his undoing. The sword had sensed something, something that had made Azrael worthy to wield it. He quickly finished off the greater Archdemon by severing the head from his body. and tossing it away in the lava. Somehow, Azrael felt stronger, more empowered from doing this but he no idea why. When he inspected the wound, there was nothing but a scar left in its place, going down the near entirety of his stomach from ribcage to naval.
Now that Azrael had attained a weapon of great power with no idea of how to use it, he nod had something that could be used against those other wretched demons that would try to have their way with Azrael. However, when it came to looking for the one who’d dragged him down here to begin with, he had no clue as to where he would even start. For years he had scoured the plains of what he thought was hell, slaying demon after countless demon that dared to cross his path, no matter what the size, each one fell under his demonically enhanced gem-like blade. The feeling of what was inside had been continuously growing stronger and stronger as he traveled across these forsaken plains, continuing to bathe the blade in the blood of countless demons while also growing in skill. He continued to travel for quite some time until something odd but then again, for years his definition of odd was to be expected in such a place as this. From afar, a kingdom made from stone and covered in flames could be seen, however this city in comparison to what he had seen Zedonius 'ruling' was still in tact. Without a second thought, Azrael made his way to the ‘kingdom’ without making a commotion, the once orange blade pulsing in a newly attained red color, almost as if sensing something. The demons here seemed more civilized and more human at that, almost a little too human. Seeing no reason to provoke a city filled with so much evil, Azrael made his way up to the building which shared a look of royalty, a castle from what he could best make of it. The whole time he was within the city, Azrael had gotten looks from other demons, and he could understand why. He was the most human-like thing to roam the city streets, that and plus the extremely large blade on his back was also a big attention grabber.
Upon his arrival to the 'castle' door, he was met by two, rather large, armor clad giant beasts which lacked eyes, yet knew of Azrael attempting to enter. Upon hearing Azrael approach, they both held their hands in front of the door way. Apparently they weren't going to let him through, truly a mistake on their part. With a quick swipe of his blade, he cut through the two layers of thick beastly arm which had blocked his path with ease. In no time however, he was surrounded by other guard beasts of similar appearance. It had taken a mere several minutes and several healed scars, but Azrael had properly cleaved through every single guard. He was able to get to what he assumed to be the ‘throne room’, only to see another being, who had looked as human as Azrael did, but with a look of a literal fire in his eyes and a well dressed suit to match.
Slowly, Azrael walked towards what he knew was a or probably the demon, his sword strapped to his back; a foolish mistake. The split second it took Azrael to open his mouth, was exactly how long it took for something to restrain him. Whatever it was, it was not only powerful enough to get a good grip on Azrael and keep him restrained, but it was also fast enough to catch Azrael off guard. The one at the throne only gave Azrael an option while his head was being held in place by the very demon that was holding him down. Do him a favor and in return, be released from this hellish place, or become trapped in this hell forever, never being allowed to leave again. He was to be sent back with his sword in hand, he had accepted the task. His mission was to hunt down the one known as ‘Berial, Conqueror of the Fire Hell’, seeing as how there were a lot of those. Apparently, Mr. High and Mighty could’ve cared less about one ‘little’ demon escaping from hell to live amongst other humans, or so Azrael thought. In all honesty, the poor fellow didn't even know where to begin. He was simply told to find and then destroy a Hell Gate as well as kill this 'Berial'. However, when he began to ask himself where to look, the blade began to glow which was something that had never happened before up until now. What the lad didn't know however, was that the blade was acting as a type of detector, only pulsing faster and faster until his destination was reached. It had taken numerous hours to get a general idea of where to go but eventually, Azrael had found it, the Hell Gate. It was located deep inside of a forest which happened relatively far from the closest city. The gate was tall enough to match that of a radio tower. Basically a giant rock with a portal-esque hole which seemed to ooze from the rock itself, charred around the edges of the portal and smelling of sulfur, a smell that was all to familiar to Azrael. He understood its purpose, he knew that it had the ability to bring things from hell out into the human realm, and it needed to be destroyed. As to fulfill his side of the deal, he was to eliminate Berial and destroy the hell gate.
It was then that the large stone slab began to show signs of bubbling, almost as if the surface were going to give way to an eruption. No doubt this was a sign of demonic activity. Slowly, Azrael approached the pillar sensing that something was approaching. He paused however, watching as the surface of the pillar began to bubble and then erupt violently in red flames, whatever he was about to do, was too late. The face of a horned lion appeared from the flames quickly landing several feet away from this new ‘Demon Hunter’. The creature then roared, spreading vicious flames which ignited the area around him, thus lighting surrounding foliage on fire. The centauric lion had made some sort of remark about how long it had been since he had touched the human world before making his way towards towards Azrael's direction, but at the same time, not approaching Azrael almost as if he didn't notice him. After passing Azrael however, his sword mimicked that same bubbling effect that had happened when Berial had appeared from that odd pillar. In an instant the flames from which Berial had roared had swirled around the sword until they were all consumed, the sword returned back to its pulse-like form, which quickly caught the attention of Berial.
Before long, some banter was spoken, which enraged the centauric lion demon, causing him to swing at Azrael with a rather extremely large burning claymore which matched Burial's size. Burial swung his large sword in an attempt to get rid of Azrael on the spot, however, the powerful swing had been expertly blocked with the ‘newly obtained’ blade in Azrael's possession, a blade which even the Conqueror of the Fire Hell, had known about, despite its newly attained form. Even so, there wasn’t enough skill to prepare Azrael for the battle he was already engaged in. Not long after the first strike was blocked, Azrael was quickly overwhelmed by the demon’s more refined swordsmanship. On the floor with only one knee, slash marks covering his body and burn marks riddled all over his torn clothing, Azrael had been flung into a tree by the more powerful demon’s whip-like tail. Azrael was skewered onto a tree limb and had no hope of finding the strength to get himself back down onto the floor, let alone to continue fighting; and as what would’ve been the last any other weaker demon would’ve probably seen, Berial skewered Azrael and even went through the tree, leaving all that was skewered to burn; all except for Azrael anyways. With another bubbling display the sword put up, it absorbed the nearby tree’s flames, and thus, showed its true form; An awakened state which made quite a display when a form of some red energy, which seemed somewhat electrical, shot at Azrael, filling him with the will and strength to fight back. While his skin burned away and his bones morphed into a rather bat-like skeletal structure, he grabbed the blade of the rather large demon and pushed against the structure of the tree, managing to break it off and detach himself from the weapon. With nothing but heavy breathing and the flickering of flames, Burial stepped back and prepared to strike, which was quickly dodged by Azrael.
He took his blade in his hand, which resonated in its newly awakened state and started to glow red, almost as if charging up. He then swung his blade, which sent a rather large red, crescent shaped blade of energy towards the Conqueror of the Fire Hell, which caused him to tip over from the staggering amount of brute strength that came from the attack and land on his side. In an attempt to finish off Az, Berial caused his rather craggy skin to burst into flames, in which he then launched himself at Azrael as a powerful lion faced fireball. Almost instinctively however, this newly attained form of Azrael launched the blade at the fireball, watching as the blade took on that same fire absorbing state which absorbed the conqueror’s flames before, and as such, absorbed the conqueror altogether, the last thing to be heard being a lion’s roar. With the threat gone, Azrael returned back to his human-like form, his blade in hand which had also returned to its previous form. He approached the Hell Gate, and with a powerful swipe, cut down the middle till it was in pieces. With his ‘mission’ complete, that rather hated cocky voice echoed through the wind, informing that Azrael was, but not really and that he would be needed again. And as told, he was needed again, and again, and again. Years continued to pass, Azrael continued to hunt demons, and his skills and abilities continued to grow and become more powerful, he even managed to craft a gun fitted for demon hunting and surprisingly enough, managed to make a little 'friend' on his free time who he uses to help hunt for demons.
- Equipment
Type of Weapon: Oversized sword of demonic origin
Weapon Name: Blade of Naat
Age: 18 years old
Length: 6'6'' ft. long (2 m.)
Weight: 350 lbs. (158.7 kg.)
Weapon Location: Azrael keeps the weapon in an obsidian-like sheath which is kept snug tight to his body by leather straps much like the leather used on the handle of his sword.
Weapon Description: The Blade of Naat is a blade that Azrael had commandeered from a demon before killing the previous owner with it shortly after its transformation. The blade's sheer size is a testament to Azrael's strength, while its intimidating appearance shows Azrael's origin. The blade's true power had originally laid dormant while under Azrael's possession until contact with his blood and the blood of many other demons and a lot of temperament under hellfire revealed its true form and with that Azrael's true form was revealed as well. The blade itself is a massive sword with a simple hollowed, double horned skull. The grip is made out of the same unknown metal that the pommel and guard are made up of, but is covered in a type of leather unlike any other leather crafted to this very day. The guard is comprised of the same metal as the pommel and is demonic in appearance much like the pommel leading up to the two spikes from which the blade emerges from. On one side of the rain guard the face is that of a human, while the other face is that of a horned demon, possibly attributing to Azrael's demon blood. The strong of this heavy double-edged gem blade is notched on both sides beginning from the rain guard and leads up to the fuller, which opens up upon reaching the central ridge and then seeming to prominently close back up shortly before reaching the point. Upon awakening with Azrael however, the skull pommel's eye sockets will begin glowing a bright red, the gem blade will also being to glow a kind of blood, matching the color of garnet, thus gaining a fiery nature to be paired with a fire even hotter than that of thunder strike. Something fit to be wielded by one of the Archdemon sub-class.
Special Abilities if Any:
- Twister~
With the blade ignited, Azrael quickly spins Naat above his head, generating a flaming vortex which consumes everything caught in its large range, burning everything in its path. Incidentally, the twister can be aimed depending on where Azrael swings his blade.
[*]Magma Drive~
- While Naat is ignited, Azrael stabs the blade into the ground, conjuring a pillar of lava to erupt under his target. Incidentally, the more powerful version of this attack involves the blade being plunged into the ground, but instead of a pillar of lava, a large hydra head made of magma appears from the ground to spit large fireballs from its mouth.
[*]Meteor Inferno~
- In its awakened form, Azrael will launch a large crescent blade composed of fire into the sky, allowing it to come back down in the form of a large fireball which will slowly follow the enemy upon descent. Even if the target manages to get out of the balls range, the blast from the impact is large enough to obliterate anything within five hundred yards of the impact zone. A more powerful version of this moves involves Azrael hurdling not just one, but many crescent flame blades into the sky, the effect either making the fireball larger, or summoning several more fireballs to give slow chase.
[*]Hell Reign~
- A move that is accessible to Azrael only when he is in his awakened form. Azrael will grab his sword and then fly into the sky, descending with his sword pointed straight in front of his face, spinning in circles and lighting on fire as he does so. Before touching down, Azrael will stop just a couple of feet from the surface, the flames conforming around his body, allowing Azrael the appearance of a large flaming bat. He then goes at the opponent at full speed, skewering the opponent with the sword after the catastrophic flame charge, which incidentally scorches the area around him while he is making a mad dash for the opponent.
[*]All or Nothing~
- Azrael concentrates and channels his demonic form, somehow imbuing it into his sword to follow up with extremely overpowered slash attacks filled with demonic energy. This is then followed up by a devastating upperslash which will either cleave enemies down the middle or send them up into the air to follow up with a devastating beam of raw demonic energy.
- Twister~
Type of Weapon: Demonically Powered Customized Revolver
Weapon Name: Blood Rose
Age: 8 years old
Length: 1'4'' ft. long (.4 m.)
Weight: 4 lbs. (1.8 kg.)
Weapon Location: Azrael has a gun holster strapped to his waist with a lock mechanism manufactured to only unhinge to his type of demonic energy, which makes it easy to whip out and shoot if need be.
Weapon Description: The Bloody Rose is Azrael's custom designed long-ranged weapon fitted to fight demons who are too elusive for his sword, and has even managed to utilize both of his weapons into a gun and sword fighting style. This one of a kind revolver has an over and under barrel style, which allows it to fire two magnum rounds with each pull of the trigger. By channeling the demonic power from within his body, Azrael can shoot shots of pure demonic energy which slam powerfully against demons and hit even harder against things that can't take powerful bursts of projectile energy attacks. By further channeling the demonic energy within, these shots can ignite their target with deadly contagious flames, which will light anybody who dares to get close enough to the original target on fire. The strongest form however, arises when Azrael fires fully charged bullets brimming with demonic energy. Enemies will be overwhelmed from within by the violent energy, which will cause an explosion within a foe. The gun has a traditional 6-shot cylinder as opposed to the Model 500's original 5-shot cylinder. Azrael has continued to add modifications on the gun to include targeting sights, and porting on each barrel to reduce recoil and muzzle flip. Bloody Rose has an obvious extra barrel underneath allowing for a demonic double shot. The cylinder has also been modified to release on the right side to reload rather than the usual left, as Azrael shoots with his left hand. The gun also has a molded wooden grip and an intricate blue rose design carved into the right side of the gun while on the left side there is a design of a red rose colored a blood red carved into the gun.
Special Abilities if Any:
- Goldmine~
A move in which Azrael overpowers his gun way past the point of projectiles becoming explosive, demonic energy brimming from the barrels of the weapon itself. He then uses all that stored power stored power by releasing it in the form of a strafe of 'bullets', ending the assault with a powerfully charged blast of raw demonic energy from both barrels.
[*]Bloody Hail~
- Azrael overpowers his gun much like if he were to perform Goldmine, but instead of releasing a torrent of bullets, a large orb of dark red energy will form from both barrels of the gun. From there, the orb is then shot into the sky, where it will explode, leaving a rain of demonic energy in the form of bullets with a speed similar to a bullet that would be fired straight from the gun itself.
[*]Bat's Fang~
- A move that involves Azrael yet again, overpowering his gun, but instead, imbuing much more power than the previous two techniques. So much demonic energy will be stored within the weapon that the gun itself will be completely engulfed in the tainted energy, leaving only the shadowy figure of what the gun used to be. Then with with a skilled hunter's marksmanship, Azrael aims and releases a beam of pure demonic energy in which the point of the beam forms into the head of the long slain Zedonius. When the beam reaches its target, it will explode leaving a fiery fallout in its wake.
- Goldmine~
- Skills
Ability: Dark Awakening~
An ability that Azrael has which allows his 'inner demon' to take over and manifest in its physical form, using Azrael's body as a host. In this form, Azrael is no long bound to the laws of man, even when in his last form he was no mere 'human'. While in this demonic form, all of his physical and 'magical' attributes are greatly amplified. Not only that, but he also gains some new abilities to use at his disposal freely while in this form.
Limitations:
- Humanity's loss~
The longer Azrael prolongs fighting in this form, the easier the true demon inside has the ability to grab a permanent foothold on Azrael. If this were to occur, it's possible that the continuous use of this form may allow it to continue getting a better hold of Azrael until the day when he doesn't return back to his human form. If this were to ever happen, then everything would surely lie in ruin under the terror that is the bat out of hell.
[*]Animal Instincts~
- Just being in this form alone raises Azrael's aggression levels immensely, which in turn makes him a danger to even those allied with him, as he'll attack with reckless abandon, not caring who or what is in the way. Because of this, Azrael tries his best to not use this form with others around unless he has no other choice.
- Dark Awakening's Exclusive Abilities
-
Ability: Hypersonic Screech~
Channeling the demon's more animalistic ability, Azrael can 'fire' extremely powerful screams of high amplitude from his mouth. This scream can be used as the basic Fus Ro Dah and can even be used to deflect or shield certain attacks. Interestingly enough, Azrael can change the pitch, frequency, and volume of the scream to be used in lower pitches as a type of echo location which can span for miles at a time before returning back to the caller.
Limitations:
- Torn Chords~
Overuse of such an incredibly useful ability could very well result in the rupture or tearing of Azrael's vocal chords, which could result in the loss of not only his voice, but also in the overall loss of this ability. Because of this, the move is only used in short bursts or low pitches, primarily for hunting purposes.
Ability: Superhuman Speed~
In this form, Azrael gains an immense speed boost whether it be in flight or while on land. At maximum speeds, he can go up to 300 mph (482km/h), 0-100 mph in 2 seconds. This ability also applies to his ability to dodge incoming attacks and things of the like, able to disappear in the blink of an eye, which allows for some great sneak attacks.
Limitations:
- The Strain~
Going at the maximum speed for too long can easily fatigue Azrael, which would only help in making it harder to maintain control over this demonic form. Because of this effect, he tries to slow down, only going fast if in combat or if he happens to be hunting.
Ability: Supernatural Durability~
Though not invulnerable, Azrael can take unnaturally high levels of physical harm without batting an eye, this does not mean that a sufficient source of power cannot harm him. He may be tough to bring down in this form, but he isn't invincible.
Limitations:
- Vincibility~
As already explained, Azrael is not invulnerable, which means if one could manage to find out what it is that could seriously hurt him, he could then sustain serious amounts of damage.
- Torn Chords~
Ability: Superhuman Strength~
Azrael is unnaturally stronger than the average human, able to lift up to a maximum of 210 metric tons if he's in an angered state. However, when entering his demonic form, his strength more than doubles making him even more powerful.
Limitations:
- Blue Whale Limit~
Azrael can only reach his maximum strength under the circumstance that he is completely enraged. That being said, with blue moons like this, he hardly ever reaches his limit.
Ability: Accelerated Healing~
Azrael has the ability to rapidly regenerate, recreating lost or damaged tissues, organs, and limbs, as well as being able to even stop the aging process altogether. While his healing factor is good, it's not exceptional, which means that if he loses a limb, he can't regrow it. However if he reattaches it, the healing factor can do the rest of the work for him. Most wounds take longer to heal than others depending on severity, from several seconds to several days.
Limitations:
- Dark Awakening~
Azrael has no access to this healing factor if ever he goes into his demonic form. This in a sense, makes up for the lack of defenses Azrael has outside of the form. The impervious demonic form's skin make up for the lack of defenses, at the cost of the rapid regeneration ability and vise versa.
Combat Skills: Azrael's arsenal is to say the very least, minuscule but very straightforward. He has experience in combat, both hand to hand and with his weapons and is known to be a quick shot with a true aim. He has agility and speed akin to that of a ninja assassin and enough experience with demons to be considered an extremely experienced demon hunter. His experience 'in the field' allows him to read the slightest body movement to dictate what move his opponent will make next and his time on the battlefield has made him an adept tactician.
Non-Combat Skills: Over the years, traveling has given Azrael the ability to adapt to most surroundings with ease, thus being able to adapt to many situations whether inside or outside of battle. Incidentally, he is a pretty intellectual person and is handy to be around if ever someone needs advice.
