  Killian comes from a home of old people. Her mother passed away at her birth and her father couldn't care less what happened to her. So of course, her grandma had to take care of her, and her grandma had to move in with her own mother so little Killian could be supported for. Killian is embarrassed when she talks about her family, as she could never have friends over because they would disturb her great grandfather, and they couldn't have pets because her grandfather was allergic to the fur. Her two sets of grandparents were afraid she would be snatched up or murdered if she went outside the house so she was always cooped up in the little old house, not even able to get her drivers license until she was 20 and finally finished her second year at college in radio broadcasting. Her two sets of grandparents didn't approve of her choice of what she wanted to major in along with communications. But of course she won that battle and they paid for her school, too bad she only got two years out of the five she was going to attend.

Malum has a dry-humorous nature, with a cringing evil persona. With the mindset that he is everything, he gives not a care to anything. He's a cruel, strange, being, and can be quite deceitful, using his rather charming, sweet looks to his advantage. Aiming to create a new society of his own, he will not let anything stand between him and his bizarre plans for his new world.

Background:

Before the Animus Outbreak, Malum was a Biochemist, a wimpy nerd with no friends or family. Driven mad after being neglected and stood up by colleagues and people in general his entire life, he aimed to develop a serum that was even more powerful than any steroid, that would give him confidence, and ultimately give him "superpowers" or "enhancements" so he could be greater than everyone else. To his surprise, Malum was successful, but the serum only made him go crazy, his ambitions only became more bizarre. He eventually overdosed on his own serum. After his death, the chemicals within his body from the serum mutated and brought him to back to life.

Personality: Luke is your typical survivor, cautious and smart. The main reason why he is still alive is because he has kept his emotions in check. He is well aware of how to take care of one's self during an apocalypse and his experiences prior to the infection has aided him. Although he may not look like the kind of person who is going to jump on a grenade, he would if the people standing around the grenade meant something important to him. When talking to others, he usually comes off as cold and heartless but he is really just touchy, especially on topics based around family(Will explain below). Other than that, Luke is a dependable guy that is willing to hear things out, unless his life depends on it.


Background: Luke had a hard childhood. His mother died when he was six years old, roughly three years after his little sister, Melissa, was born. His father died soon after he finished high school, causing him to look after himself and his little sister. It was an experience that he wishes hadn't happened but is grateful that it did anyway. After Melissa finished high school, he looked at entering university, which he did after he was pressured into it by his sister. He greatly enjoyed the experience of university as he learnt more from his new friends, another thing that he regrets but is glad happened. He had just finished his degree on physiotherapy when all hell broke loose. He was able to find his sister in time but it was too late to try and save any of his friends. His father was in the army reserves so he had grown up learning how to defend himself but he didn't expect that he would need to use any of those skills.


He and his sister survived for a while, a good while as neither of them got hurt or was in pain. Then one day while scavenging, a group of infected appeared, enough to swarm the streets. His sister gave her life distracting the horde so he could escape. He felt incredibly selfish that he left her to get ripped to shreds by the horde. He returned a few days later to find that she had survived the horde itself, with most of the infected in heaps on the ground but judging from the large amount of blood, she didn't survive losing that much blood. At that point he noticed that a body nearby had moved, to which he turned to kill it but only realise that it was his sister. It was his first time this had happened to him so he was incredibly hesitant to trust immediately but after a lengthy talk, he learnt a lot about what had gone on except maybe the scientific point of view.


His sister is now traveling with them but she is usually away scouting the next area. He is glad that he didn't lose her, especially because he probably would not have made it if he lost another family member. Later, they found Ian, who after Melissa reminded him, was revealed to be their neighbour who looked over them from the moment their mother died.





Other: Melissa will be a side character. He still has a Polaroid of him and his sister when he had just graduated. He likes to remind himself about the times before the incident.

Personality: Sarcastic, shy, and resentful, Amy definitely has some issues to work out. She has no people skills and was a creative-type person in life. Now that she’s an Awakened, she lashes out and speaks her mind when shit hits the fan.


Background: Amy’s mother was a nurse, and her father was in the military. When she was five, Amy’s father died in battle. Since then, her mother has cared for Amy with all her effort, shielding her and being that over protective parent. They had a close relationship, but then Amy was bullied in middle school, and her mother couldn’t do a thing. When Amy asked for homeschooling, her mother denied the request. As the bullying grew worse, Amy began to resent her mother. Being lonely and insecure, she was friendless until the day she died. Until she wasn’t.


Other: Amy resents her zombie-like state and wishes she would’ve died instead of being forced to endure all the pain and loneliness.

Vera’s personality is a bit muddled. More often than not, she’s exceedingly intellectual. Having knowledge on subjects she can’t remember learning about yet wouldn’t think twice about correcting you. Not so much for the learning opportunity, yet for the pure humor of comical reactions. Vera is also quite serious, yet that doesn’t mean she hates sarcasm. Trust me, it’s used often.


Then we have a bit of a difference. Vera can be immature, having to making that joke at the wrong time. Sarcastic, as mentioned above. Not often, but when needed she won’t hold back a retort in this manner. A tad antisocial. Not wanting to get involved with unnecessary social interactions. But, once she has warmed up to one you will be sure to have numerous discussions on diverse topics. This make Vera a bit harder to “get used to” than others. Learning how to deal with Vera is a taxing process, although more than one person has succeeded in this.

Vera's history wasn't anything special. She was born and raised in your average, white, american, middle class family. It had been like any other day, getting home from school, messing with her younger brother, August. Nothing was out of place, until later in the afternoon when the outbreak hit. They had been doing homework like anybody else when their house had been rushed by neighbors who had been turned only moments before. The door being broken down, her father and mother were first to die, getting eaten by the initial swarm. Then, they flooded the upper level. The screams of August getting devoured were mortifying as they then turned to her.


Quite a while later, she grew conscious. This is where her story begins.

Eve is a calm and composed person, although she is quite sarcastic and mischievous in a sense and quite the stubborn woman she is. She's tactical and prefers not to do anything stupid. She isn't one to be talkative, but she does speak her mind when she feels like it. She disliked being held down by rules, being the rebellious person she is. She usually acts indifferently, giving her a gloomy and ominous aura about her which slightly intimidated certain people. Inside , however, she actually cares, even just a little but she barely showed it in the right way.


She hates the infected, especially the ones in human form, unless she had some sort of attachment to the person beforehand. Otherwise, she can and will kill them. Smoking is not a habit of hers because she doesn't do it regularly. A genuine smile from her has almost become a privilege because of how seldom she actually makes that expression.


Killing a fellow human being is not in her best interest, especially with the population declining, unless or course, if it was an act of self-defense.


Background


Nothing much is known about her past, since she doesn't find it worth telling. Her parents were dead, everyone knew that and she became the breadwinner at the age of 18. The only thing someone would need to know about her is that she still has hope—"blind hope" as people would call it, considering the current happenings—that she will find her sister who had gone missing months ago. That is the very reason she still works hard to survive everyday and because of that, people never really tried hard to give her a reality check, not like that would change her mind. She needed to see her sister with her own eyes before she decides for herself.


If someone knew her before her sister went missing, the change she had gone through would definitely pass under their noses. She returned her hair to its original color from its previous black dye, and keeps it an organized mess unlike her usual. She has grown a little more distant and nonchalant, smiling a lot less than when her sister was around; however, she has retained her sarcasm and mischievousness. All work and no play would have made her dull.

Personality: Deus is the kind of guy you see in a restaurant talking obnoxiously with his friends. Socially, he's very outgoing and up for anything, but keeps a more serious side hidden when he's alone. Deus has always loved virtual gaming and sometimes wishes he could have a realistic feel for some of them. He loves feeling alive in any situation; whether it be a rollercoaster or eating peppers or just roughhousing with friends. Gaming is one of those things he does to feel alive. Some, well, lots make fun of him for it, but it's a true passion of his. He has very few friends, but they're all people he'd risk his life for.


Background: Deus started gaming as a young boy, playing common platformers and such. Though, he never let it take over his life, he was very engaged in school and extracurricular activities. He advanced well in school and soon developed advanced critical thinking and problem solving skills. These talents aided Deus in all walks of the day. Upon building these skills along with his reaction timing and fast thinking he has gained from his gaming, Deus decided he would branch out and begin putting these skills to use. In high school, he pursued martial arts, orchestra, football (soccer football, not football football) and lots of other things. In his junior year he advanced to state chess and nearly won but ran out of time, sadfully costing him the game. He soon graduate and took a break from school to relax and take some downtime before applying for college. Before he could do so, a buddy of him informed him of a company he got a job for and said they needed more employees to help run the place. Fast forward through a few job inspections and resumes, Deus received his job. He now spends his days working for his company and spending his downtime on virtual gaming.

Appearance: Unlike her sister, Lucy is a brunette, her eyes matching her hair's color. She has a fit body, considering that she was a basketball player in her school before all this.


As an awakened, her the area around her right eye became part skeleton, so she wears an eye patch to cover it up. Her right arm has started to degrade, and she covers it with the sleeves of her sports jacket.


"I... I haven't changed much... right? "


Enhancement:


Her speed has dramatically increased, for some reason; something she learned after running away from humans or even other zombies.


"If I was this fast in basketball, I would have been the MVP."

Personality


Lucy is almost like the opposite of Eve, which is why she is considered as the "light of her life" by the latter. She's kind, helpful, active and cheerful. She's independent despite her rather childish demeanor. For years, her sister had always been there to protect her, especially since she doesn't exactly know how to defend herself from bullies but she is definitely trying. She is, however, strong-willed.


The fact that she's an Awakened is something she couldn't accept. She doesn't want to admit it to herself so she tries to hide any signs of her being one. Unfortunately, she knew that it was a wound that wouldn't heal. She disliked being alone but learned to live with it as an Awakened. Nonetheless, she retained her cheerful personality instead of falling into despair.

Background


Lucy was part of the basketball team in her school. She wasn't always bullied but at times when she was, her sister was there for her and just knowing that made her strong. Her parents died when she was barely a teenager, but she somehow managed to survive and stay in school because of her sister's hard work. Even after the outbreak, much of her life was dependent on Eve but she didn't want to stay that way forever, even though she knew her sister didn't mind.


Being greatly indebted to her sister, she did a few things herself to help her out. It started out little by little until her sister started to slowly trust her enough to do bigger things.


Unfortunately, one day, disaster struck her and she was overrun by zombies during one of her scavenging. She came back to after an estimate of a few weeks and much to her horror, realized she was dead. Knowing how much her sister hated things like her, she decided not to show herself anymore, believing it was for the best.


And so, her aimless wandering has started.

A wise man once said, "No, what are you doing? Stop writing down what I'm saying!" You can guess where that got him. Ian Longstaff

Race: Awakened


Enhancement: His eyes have evolved to have unparalleled vision. He can see things very far away as if they were in front of him, and he can see heat, thus allowing a kind of supervision. In addition, his agility has been boosted, allowing him to move very quickly to scout and get away from danger.


Personality: Ian is the joker of anywhere he goes. He can't take anything seriously. In fact, joking is his fear response, and you can tell when he's frightened by the frequency of his jokes. His sense of humour is mixed, and he could really pull off any kind of humour. He tends to default to sarcasm and dry wit, though. He's pretty intelligent, but really would rather just grab a schnitzel and entertain his friends.


However, do not mistake this habit for not caring. He cares deeply for his friends, although he isn't sure if he'd put his life on the line for them. In fact, he isn't sure how he'd react in a high-stress situation at all beyond laughing at it. This doesn't deter Ian, and he tries to do the best he can for his friends. A funny man with heart is a decent summary of Ian.


Background: Ian made friends early, and he was always there for them. They were there for him, too. Well, most of them were. The others were bastards, and Ian was glad he wasn't talking to them any more. His first experience of really being under pressure was when he was when his neighbour Luke lost his mother at only six years of age. Ian was twelve, and wasn't really sure what to do. However, his support did help Luke and his sister Melissa through the experience. Ian found that he really liked the two, and decided he'd keep an eye out for them, though he didn't think they would remember him.


During high school, Ian found himself one of the popular kids, constantly getting good grades and good friends. He refused to get laid, though, as he never saw the appeal. In his last year of school, he saw Luke had chosen his school to come to. There was quiet amusement, but he didn't say anything. He wasn't sure if Luke remembered him. When he finished high school, he was sent to University. Here he excelled, gaining degrees in Civil Engineering, Medicine, and History. Years later, Ian noticed a familiar face. Two, to be exact. It was Luke and Melissa again. It was like they were drawn together somehow, and it was fucking creepy. Ian still wasn't sure whether Luke remembered him.


When the outbreak happened, he couldn't keep track of any of his acquaintances, and started to think he was the only man left alive. That changed when he was ambushed by a three zombies. He killed them, but one managed to bite him. He felt the zombification process wracking his body, pain shooting through him as his body changed. However, when he awoke, he felt relief again. The zombies ignored him, but he retained his humanity. Better, his only wound was a bite on his forearm, which could be easily covered up. Life was looking up for just this once. Personality: Ian is the joker of anywhere he goes. He can't take anything seriously. In fact, joking is his fear response, and you can tell when he's frightened by the frequency of his jokes. His sense of humour is mixed, and he could really pull off any kind of humour. He tends to default to sarcasm and dry wit, though. He's pretty intelligent, but really would rather just grab a schnitzel and entertain his friends.


However, do not mistake this habit for not caring. He cares deeply for his friends, although he isn't sure if he'd put his life on the line for them. In fact, he isn't sure how he'd react in a high-stress situation at all beyond laughing at it. This doesn't deter Ian, and he tries to do the best he can for his friends. A funny man with heart is a decent summary of Ian.


Background: Ian made friends early, and he was always there for them. They were there for him, too. Well, most of them were. The others were bastards, and Ian was glad he wasn't talking to them any more. His first experience of really being under pressure was when he was when his neighbour Luke lost his mother at only six years of age. Ian was twelve, and wasn't really sure what to do. However, his support did help Luke and his sister Melissa through the experience. Ian found that he really liked the two, and decided he'd keep an eye out for them, though he didn't think they would remember him.


During high school, Ian found himself one of the popular kids, constantly getting good grades and good friends. He refused to get laid, though, as he never saw the appeal. In his last year of school, he saw Luke had chosen his school to come to. There was quiet amusement, but he didn't say anything. He wasn't sure if Luke remembered him. When he finished high school, he was sent to University. Here he excelled, gaining degrees in Civil Engineering, Medicine, and History. Years later, Ian noticed a familiar face. Two, to be exact. It was Luke and Melissa again. It was like they were drawn together somehow, and it was fucking creepy. Ian still wasn't sure whether Luke remembered him.


When the outbreak happened, he couldn't keep track of any of his acquaintances, and started to think he was the only man left alive. That changed when he yet again met up with Luke. By this point, the coincidences were terrifying. Then he spotted Melissa, or rather the remains of her. He shouted out a zombie, and Luke turned with a gun raised, only to see that it was Melissa. The explanation was confusing and unsatisfying, but as long as Luke was happy and Melissa didn't start eating them, then Ian could live with that. He still isn't sure if Luke remembers him, and by now he's nervous that asking will just be creepy.

Markus hates overly complicated things, and will often grow irritable if something isn't resolved quickly and simply. Although, you wouldn't really be able to tell by just looking at him. He always wears a neutral expression, no matter what he's feeling. Although "neutral" for him is basically something that looks like a slight scowl, that's basically how his face is stuck. He gets ticked off when people question his emotions, and automatically assume that he doesn't give two shites about anything. Because, he does. Markus is actually a pretty emotional guy. And when he feels something like anger or happiness, its extremely amplified compared to what a normal person might feel.

Background:

To be honest, his life wasn't all that great before the world went down the toilet. It wasn't exciting in any way, shape or form. He went to school, never participated in any club activities or anything like that, and came home to procrastinate on homework and goof off on the internet. That was literally the outline of his entire life from Middle School on.

When the outbreak reached his section of the world, Markus wasn't that prepared. He had always joked around about the "zombie apocalypse" with his friends, but none of them actually made preparations for it. The teen probably would've made it a bit longer if his "friends" hadn't been so extreme about the entire situation. Thinking that they were running low on supplies (when in reality they were far from reaching that point and just sucked at rationing), they kicked him out onto the streets in the middle of the night. Hell, they didn't even give him one of the guns. Just a hunting knife.

And thus began his tale of being a conscious walking corpse~.

However, she is incredibly smart, with an iq of 124, she is close to being a genius but lacks that bit from creating a cure for cancer. (Which she wanted to do nearing the end of her father's life.) Although she might first off as a cold b****, she is only just worried that something is going to happen. In general, Melissa is cold and acts heartless but she usually does it for good reason.


Background: Mel's backstory is similar to Luke's in the experiences but the events changed her slightly. She acted more mature and she became more cautious. She became reasonably cold towards everyone except for Luke.


Luke had only just begun uni when she began to get bad vibes about something that was probably beginning, the virus. At the time, people would have just shrugged and disregarded her as there wasn't really any evidence. It was also around this time when she began to notice the man that lived next door to them. She remembers that he had given them support after Mel's and Luke's mother had died and had kept an eye out on them.


During the aftermath of the virus, she had gone to distract the horde, as said in Luke's CS. When she woke, to find herself a zombie, she didn't deny any of it but she still hated the fact. Her enhancement of precognition soon lead her back to Luke and later to Ian, the man next door. She is just glad that her brother still thinks of her as a sister, not a monster that acts like his sister.

He is quite calm and intelligent... a trait he's learned from being an honor and top student during his school life. He'd always been targeted as a enemy due to his brilliance and he's learned that he shouldn't trust anyone... even his closest friends. This could prove to be vital in his attempt to survive during the virus outbreak.

Kyzaba had been born into a family of a mother, father, and a sister. He's been taught to work hard for success and that was what he did. He'd become the hardest worker in his elementary school and this caused him to become quite a recognized young individual for his intelligence. As he entered middle school, he became the target of jealousy and prejudice, resulting in him being quite a lonely student that sat down in the corner of the classroom. Whenever he got an 100 on a test, he would have no one to be happy with except his parents and his supportive. Now, he was entering college and suddenly the virus occurred, resulting his successful life to shatter as he found out that both his parents and his sister had fallen to the virus. However, he will continue to survive to retain the memory of his family...

Your enhancement is quite over powered in my opinion. By enhancement, I was thinking more along the lines of super strength, greater intelligence, amazing hearing, fantastic smell, stuff kind of like that.
