"Earth Water. Air. Fire. When i was a boy i was taught the United Republic of Nation and Republic City was to be a place were Benders and all Non-benders of all backgrounds could leave in peace and harmony. This is longer the case, this harmony was shattered when Amon and his Equalists through lies, intimidation and terrorism shuttered this peace. Rising against the legal elected supported government and performed genocide against benders under the guise of bringing true balance that they claim was prevented by benders. The Avatar was meant to end this movement and restored peace and harmony. She failed and disappeared likely captured by the equalist. Taking over it was not long before the Equalist revealed their true colours. They are nothing more than gangsters and terrorist looking out for their own at the cost of both benders and non benders. Poverty on the rise, people working as slaves in factories to fund the Equalist war with other nations and benders disappearing by their hundreds each day. No representation, no rights, no true equality.

My men and i can not live like this any more. We cant wait for an Avatar to come back and deliver us from this evil. We will not allow more bender to disappear or be debended. We will not allow further oppression of all people. We will end this Tyranny and restore true harmony and peace. Like Earth we will stand firm become and impregnable war against Equalist tyranny. Like water, what ever you through at us we will adapt and counter, you will never know how and when we will strike. Like air, you will never catch us. We will sleep through your fingers and leave free. Like fire, our will will not be broken, we will remain unflinching in our goal and will spread uncontrolled until we become an inferno that will consume all equalist and their supporters. Earth. Water. Air. Fire. we are the Bender Underground. "

Broadcast over the radio two years ago today after Bender Underground agents attacked several Equalist party stations and blew off the head of the Amon Statue at what was the Aan Memorial island. Considered the first Bender Underground act of terrorism.

The day was like any other for Hati, another call about benders causing trouble. They would never learn the longer they fought to hold onto their power the longer they would suffer. The police force had encountered 3 benders, fire, earth, water and of course instead of simply giving up , they had decided to destroy everything in eyesight and cause more suffering. Hati was not alone in this mission she had several other equalists each cursing the bender for their destructive nature. This was why they did their work, benders had caused the worst wars, bending had separated people, bending made the worst person capable of more destruction. The group was on the rooftops preferring to have the element of surprise when it came to dealing with these benders. The group needed no words a quizzical look and a thumb drawn over the throat was all they needed to know, there would not be any prisoners. One of them looking over the police also noticed a secondary target one of the police themselves.

Hati raised her hand three fingers up, the others drew out smoke canisters. One finger went down two remained up, they pulled the pins. A second finger went down and one remained, the equalists threw the canisters down as the smoke poured out obscuring light of sight of all. The final finger went down and the Equalists made their attack. The group using hooks and rope almost free feel down the building into the smoke where the three benders were coughing in surprise knowing who had come. They started to move towards each other while the equalists moved in and from the smoke arcs of lightning came taking the fire bender out first to keep him from blasting the smoke away. Then the earth bender felt arms grab her as well practiced finger found the weak points blocking out her ability to bend before one more to her neck made her body go limb. With two down it was just the water bender who was lashing out with tendrils of water to try to blindly get a lucky strike. Hati went for this one.

Hati would move swiftly knowing how water benders moved, she could use this knowledge to get in close, almost dancing out out the way of the tendrils inching closer and closer. The water bender surely thought her bending would be taken, that her chi would be blocked, that she would be shipped off for a show, but that would not happen. Hati carried many tools, knives and blades were always helpful despite metal benders being around and one such blade was in her hand. Hati would not let a water bender simply get away with having their bender removed, no they were worse than the others, they had to suffer first then die they could have no second chance. Thus when Hati was inched from the girl there were no strikes at her chi points, instead there was a sharp pain as the knife was stabbed into her and agony as it was pulled up.

The smoke would clear as the water bender fell tot he ground still alive but with a kick to her neck her body went limp, she wouldn't get to heal herself and would last for a time before death claimed her, the other two benders were equally crumpled their throats slit despite them having been incapacitated. Hati did not care that they could have been used for a show, these people would never learn death was the only lesson they could learn and those like them should know fear and give up do that the dark times could end. With the benders taken care off Hait moved to the lieutenant that had been on site, before suddenly throwing a knife at another officer nailing him in the throat drawing shocked and scared looks from the police there. One of her men went to the officer and pulled out a small token of the pro bending resistance and held it up.

" You should do better to keep your house clean Lord Amon does not like to have to mop up after your mistakes" hati said to the now shaking Lieutenant who would know that was her one and only warning next time there was a mole she head would roll with theirs. With that Hati's work here was done and using their grappling hooks she and her squad heading for the roofs leaving in style to leave the impression they were always above always watching. one day all this blood would be worth it, people just had to learn the hard way till then.

Mai Lee walked through the dark street of Republic City, she wore a dark black clock over her green dancer's outfit and walking quickly and silently through the streets. It would not do to be caught outside by the local law enforcers at this time. This was the anniversary of one of the first and biggest attacks against the Equalist by the Bender Underground, though the Underground were never able to match their feat in subsequent years the equalist weren't taking any chances. Security was tight in times like this, the Qui Blockers were out in force and a curfew was in effect for all residence... Well all instead of all those part of the equalists. She still saw some vehicles travel through the streets of the city at high speed as she walked. Almost all of them Satomobiles bearing the mark of the equalist on their side, of to some party or function, leaving the high life while non Equalist suffered.

She sighed, she was heartened once when she heard the tale of the Bender Underground first attack, a sign of hope and good things to come but despite some initial successes the Bender Underground have literally gone underground remaining mostly. Reprisals were harsh, rumors of an agent of Amon himself tearing through benders like butter and civilians suffered. The Restoration Movement having tried to pick up the slack, the gained prominence the past year mostly because the Equalist seemed to be focused on the Benders more than the Restoration movement. Support for the movement is growing and they are becoming more bold. Still Mai Lee was not hopeful, their success seemed to be at the cost of benders, part of the Restoration Movement popularly is their distancing from the Bender Underground, something she thought of as a mistake. They should be working together for a common cause not distance. That is why she was out, to make contact if she could even though it was going against orders.

She was unsure how to contact them, there were plenty of rumours of fronts of the bender undergrounds throughout the city. Many are either false or have been raided by the equalist. She hoped perhaps to ran into some on the prowl tonight, the benders must be trying something right?

It had always felt so unusual to be creeping around this late in the day, that oppressive anxiety that seemed to wash over the Acolyte every time that he would make a move outside and into the open. While he very much would have preferred some alternative, maybe going through some kind of underground tunnel network that connected all of their secret meeting places rather than risking himself by stepping outside while the patrols were still going around. For someone like Gyoh of course it was a bit easier to make his way through the dangerous streets, what with being a non-bender and all, his person attracting a lot less suspicion than most but still requiring a bit of caution as he had no kind of fake identification or symbols of some kind that would mark him as an Equalist. It was something that he had considered heavily, but performing that kind of operation was not up his alley in the slightest, so he would act in the way that the organization had always asked him to: with finesse.

Covering his rather outlandish attire with a long coat and cap, the young man would be much more covert as he quickly strode through the eerily silent streets of Republic City in search of some neutral ground. From what he can recall, this was a special day for both of the revolutionary factions, an anniversary of sorts from what his much older comrades had informed him of. There had to be something going down... BANG! BANG BANG BANG! Not too far in the distance,he could hear it, a confrontation. A short one from what it seemed like, nothing extremely flashy but definitely involving some benders. They were going to get captured... or worse, that was just the reality of the situation they were living in now, and it was no one's fault but the Equalists. Using the guise of reform and equality, they rose to power and influence through exploiting people's fears. From what Patwah had taught him, not many had opened the first chakra that dealt with this. But it did not mean they were spineless, in fact it was the opposite. Only invigorated by this ideal of equality through the destruction of the old ways were they able to overcome this fear, but Amon used this properly. As the black haired acolyte walked through the streets, making his way to the only neutral ground he knew of, he would wonder: What kind of man was Amon for him to do this?

Adrien was just calling for last call for tonight. It was eerily empty of equalist members tonight in her tavern. "They must of had a mission today" Adrian thought. She hope that pro benders didnt lose more members, but sad truth is they had been on the losing side. Rumor had it that the equalist had a new lieutenant in their ranks. Maybe it was time for her to go out on a few missions get morale for the underground.

Locals begin to talk.

"Did you hear three benders from the underground were capture. I think one was killed."

" yea sad news for them. They should just give up. Amon and the equalist are invincible. Even the fire nation is falling."

Adrien just listens for a minute before speaking. " Okay you two time to go. No arguing this time we cant be late for curfew again can we." Adrien said while rushing them out the door. Little did amon know that this tavern was a front and going to help end the equalist movement, or atleast that what she tries to remind the people that work for her.

By the time Levi had made it to the designated location, it was already too late. His three powerful pro bending associates had fallen, their liveless bodies bleeding out on the streets in eerie piles of distorted limbs. The young man staggered backwards, hoping none of the assassins had noticed him carefully moving down one of the deserted back-alleys. He may have been late to the mission, but he wasn't as stupidly reckless as to get himself killed, right?

Swiftly, he retreated from the gruesome scene, covering his mouth with his hand to keep himself from gagging at the gruesome sight. Knowing that he could've been among the dead didn't make it any better. His slowed sneak turned into a silent jog until he was running freely, hoping to put as much distance as possible between himself and the perpetrators.

Making sure that he wasn't being followed, Levi sought out the more lively parts of the city - where pubs and taverns lined the streets and more or less drunk people were providing witness and cover. Judging by the hushed whispers of those getting chased out of the establishments, curfew hour was approaching fast.

Levi halted, realizing that he had run into more than just a minor problem.
Chances were he wouldn't make it to the underground in time. By his luck, he might as well have already attracted the eyes of Amon's affiliates. If he didn't find cover anywhere else for the night, the risk of leading the enemy to the base by walking around past curfew at night was far too high.

Aimlessly, he looked around, noticing a female bartender (Adrien) waving her last guests of the evening goodbye. As there was no barrier of having to knock and await someone's response with her, he walked up to her, still slightly breathless from his recent sprint. "Hey, sorry to bother you, but do you have any space available for someone to stay over for the night? I have nowhere else to go right now," he met her gaze with fearful, yet pleading eyes.

Loki was moving as quickly as he could without running towards the tavern he regularly frequented in the busy area of Equalists territory. Usually he came a little bit earlier, he knew he was cutting it close to curfew but he couldn't in good conscious leave his mom in the condition he'd found her in when Lakota and he had gotten home from working. He dusted the dirty clothes he hadn't been able to change out of from the factory and sped up just a bit more. It was a good distance from the slums they lived in to the busy mercantile area but he didn't want to change where they got their once a month luxury meals from(courtesy of him) because he liked the owner for several reasons and the food was really worth it compared to the other places.

He rounded the corner just in time to see someone else enter the tavern and his lips quirked in a soft smile that it was still open, he'd made it. He rushed across the street from the side alley and entered the establishment just in time to hear the young man from before say he had no where else to go. If this was another life, where all of his family were together and alive he would have offered the young man a place but in this life he simply observed him quietly. Waiting for his turn to speak with Ms. Zhou. He gave her a wave before taking out his money and counting it for the 5th time to make sure he had enough for three hot meals to go.

Deep in the cellar of the tavern there was a room hidden away by the classic book. That room was Toru's workshop and leaving quarters, there Toru tinkered with whatever the bender underground would give him and produced explosive for the undergrounds sabotages. Recently Toru had little to work on, there were less mission going on and less benders to take advantage of Toru's services. This left Toru mostly to his own devices, working with what he had to produce whatever his made came up. The room was filled with Toru's inventions, most of them unfinished and some not really for warfare this included remote controlled vehicle devices and storage units that keep items cool. He could not focus on one thing for long unless pressed.

He did little else. Toru was the son of Lee Song, one of the founders of the Bender Underground and well respected figure in the movement. He planned some initial attacks against the Equalist in the Underground reveal and latter attacks. However, he was captured during an attack a year ago and publicly debended then disappeared without a trace presumed dead. It was suspected that the Equalist would get after Lee Songs family as reprisal so the Underground attepted to hide them, Toru it seemed was the only one that the manage to keep safe as of now. These meant that Toru rarely left his hideout unless necessary and despite his plentiful distractions, he was starting to feel the isolation.

Adrien peeked her head outside to make sure there wasnt any more stragglers. She decided to take care of Loki first. "It on the counter loki. Keep your money though. I need another waiter tomorrow. You get meals for your family today and tomorrow. if you come here prepare to work." Adrien said kind yet stern kind a way as if it was more a demand. She always tries to help anyone that needs it. Loki was one she tried to help.
Adrien then turn her attention to her newest boarder. "Yes I have room available. It's nothing fancy, but you be safe and warm tonight. We talk more once you eat and rest up a bit. You look really tired." Adrien said her motherly self. She knew he was probably new and didnt know that simply being outside after crew few could get you lock up. " come on, inside before it gets to late."
Adrien had one more person to check up on but she have to wait till her business with her new boarder.

Upon hearing that he was welcome to stay, relief lit up the young man's tired features. While slipping inside, he thanked Adrien from the bottom of his heart before introducing himself as Levi.

Curiously, he looked around the main room, taking in the many tables and the cozy bar of the tavern. Images of cheerful customers filling the seats with hearty laughter and friendly banter filled his imagination for a moment. He liked what he saw; it almost made him feel at home even.

"How can I repay you for what you're offering?" He wanted to know, immediately jumping to the business side of things. Levi hated being in debt to anyone and certainly didn't want to cause an inconvenience for this kind woman.

Adrien grabbed a plate of food and some chilled green tea. She set it on the table in front of the young traveler encouraging him to eat. People slowly finished and left. " let's start with your name, and go from there." Adrien said calmly as she looked at him to see if he was telling the truth. As the last person left she locked the door to the tavern. It was only her the two younge men in her tavern.

"Thank you, you're too kind," Levi acknowledged the food and drink, reaching for the cutlery while Adrien asked for his name.

"Ah, right," he beamed innocently at her, internally scolding himself for having forgotten to introduce himself, "My name is Leviathan, but everyone just calls me Levi."

"And who do I have the pleasure of getting saved by tonight?" he wondered charmingly, finally settling to eat as he listened to her.

Tonight was as one might expect busy for the Equalists who were out in force and so were the benders and any who supported them. Hati had moved over the roof tops and checked by a tavern she knew some equalists visited annoyingly often. It seemed that none of them were trying to hide the night out. Hati didn't feel the need to inspect the tavern to much she just noticed a few likely none benders heading there likely to seek shelter from the chaos caused by the benders. With that she quickly left off to the next call to help to police deal with more benders, that would be the whole night as it was that annoying anniversary of the terrorists deciding to fight against Amon. The were no shows planned for tonight, and the quotas were suspended, if you killed a bender that counted the streets could run red tonight. They would show everyone what it meant to go against lord Amon and aid those that had for to long lorded over them.

Soon there was another call, they needed to help the police there was another bender on the lose. This was why the curfew was strict today normally even Hati might look the other way if someone was running late, but tonight there could be no room for leniency. Hati and her squad would move from rooftop to rooftop as they headed towards the next call listening for the details. They needed to know what benders were present and how skilled they were. A metal or lightning bender could be a pain to deal with, but they had ways. There was only one type of bender they could not easily counter, a bloodline, but those were so very rare even Hati had yet to meet another cursed like herself.

The call it turned out was far worse than even she had thought, a fire bender had gotten it in his head, likely via propaganda from the pro benders, to dismantle the city. That had taken the form of burning down any building he didn't like this time. The firebender had started fire after fire not caring what he burned only that he was burning things harming both bender and none benders alike. At first Hati had thought this guy was one they should just block and take in, as he was prime for a show with how he caused everyone harm only because he was a bender. That idea did not last long when Hati saw what he had set ablaze, an apartment which of course had not been evacuated so while he fought off those just trying to help while shouting about how this was all their fault innocent people burned. Zealots were like that if not tempered as Amon tempered his followers, they hurt some innocents sometimes but they did try to keep it minimal, but this guy didn't care. Hati needed to stop this guy and as good as it would be to take him in she was not without a heart he deserved real punishment for what he had done.

" depower him i will punish him as he should be" Hati said her squad nodding

The squad ddidn't use smoke this time instead coming down with two of them going right at the bender another two heading for the firefighter that had arrived. The two namely Hati and one other were in truth a distraction as the other two got the water ready. The goal was simple chill the fire bender down. Firebender could bend fire just with their mouths, thus simply depowering their limbs was not enough to take them down. The water worked to chill them throw off their breathing some so the correct points could be hit or they could be allowed to talk. The fight in truth took only moments with Hati and her partner managing to either get through the fire or dodge it fully as the bender had no time to truly damage them through their suits without risking getting hit. Then the water hit him, taking him from burning hot to freezing cold disrupting his chi flow and focus. The strike then came his arms and legs frozen his easiest bending cut off he was no threat anymore.

" Your kind are a plague, fighting against equality, fighting against peace fighting against.." Hati started before the bender interrupted her.

" Fighting tyranny" He retorted which only got him a swift kick to the gut and his face grabbed and turned to the fire he caused

" You call use tyrannical, you call lord Amon a despost, but look who caused that? Hati asked though before the bender answered she continued " You did, you a bender, your kind call us eveil but who was it that set an apartment building ablaze there are innocents people in there bender and none alike brunign because of you" Hati continued her voice getting louder and louder till she was yelling. Hati might not seem to care, about others besides Amon, but she believed every sacrifice was worth it to make a better future, but this, this was madness and slaughter with no goal. It was death for death's sake.

To his credit the bender went wide eyed and seemed to realize only now what his zeal had done " Why can't you ever see your anger , your, bending, it brings only misery upon others?" Hati asked not really wanting an answer " i...i" The bender started to say before being cut off " If you couldn't bend then this would not have happened if bender was gone then so many more people would be alive and we would not have stagnated for thousands of years" Hati continued while the fire was slowly fought.

"Y you're right" He said likely going from one emotional extreme to another, but now he knew he had blood on his hands and the source of that blood was a cruse that no normal person could use. If all benders could see this lesson then the world would be in a better place, but saving just one from himself was at least some victory a convert was always helpful. Hati had planned to kill the man for his crimes, but now she had another plan the equalists didn't normally take in benders that had been debended but to take in and reform a criminal like this that could only do his crimes because he was a bender that was a good story.

" Good I was going to kill you but, that is not right for crimes like yours, you will be given to Lord Amon and a choice to repent for your crimes" Hati explained looking to the cops that had stayed out of the way " Take him in mark his file for special attention" She said meaning this was a special case she would explain to Amon himself latter. The cops nodded and the bender was taken away, yet the night was not over there was more yet to do.

"My name is Adrien Zhou. Dont call me ms. Zhou or ma'am. Like you guess I own this establishment. I also cook all the food. I been all over the world and want to bring a taste of that to republic city." Adrien Said to Levi as if it were bit of a radio advertisement. She couldnt tell him it was really just one of many front businesses.

"More tea? Tell me about yourself." Adrien said as she held up the pot. She was ignoring for a minute that Levi had no money . When suddenly, radio starts to broadcast the nightly broadcast.
[ breaking news: There been another rampaging attack on the city from a bender. Another example of terrorism spread by those granted powers. Lord Amon and his units were there to save the day.]

[In other news there will be another equalist ralley In republic city square. Amon and his lieutenants are expected to attend. ]

Adrien smile gone as she hears this "great, how can this anniversary get any better. " Adrien said under her breath in a half sarcastic way.

Loki's expression considerately brightened at the mention of exchanging for the food with a shift tomorrow instead of the little bit of money he and his sister manages to make up by working around republic city. "Of course Ms.Zhou. Whenever you need a waiter don't hesitate to send word for me. And if you need a dish washer...well...you know my sister." He didn't want to broadcast his sisters standoffish attitude that could never belong to a waiter but played up something she and Ms.Zhou both could actually be content with her working. He remembered when Lakota had actually been hired as the vallet of another restaurant and was fired within the same day for gravely insulting a customer. Not that it wasn't well deserved, the woman was being extremely childish and demanding. causing issues for everyone around her whether it was the staff or other customers. Loki gave Ms. Zhou a small sheepish smile as he tried to recommend his sister for a position as well. After gearing her reply he nodded and turned away. He didn't want to be impolite by listening in to the other persons conversation with Ms. Zhou.

Even though they worked at the factories it was mostly as a cover for regular workers. They often found themselves without work so they were always on the lookout for job opportunities. Besides that they used their circumstances to find new information about the Equalists and the groups opposing them. Loki grabbed the bags of food and went towards the door, looking outside to see if there was anyone who would see him leaving. He didn't know how close to curfew he was cutting but he knew he needed to get home to his mom and sister. Lakota could mostly handle herself but he worried at her new recklessness when it came to the Equalist agents. He was ready to open the door when the breaking news broadcast caught his attention followed by Ms. Zhou's words. He sighed internally. He felt much the same.

Mai stood on a platform of the skyscraper opposite the tavern, looking at those that stepped in and out of the tavern. Hearing a rumour that a tavern was serving as a front of the bender underground however she did not know which one therefore she spend her evening taking a look at some taverns rumoured to be so. Most were closed due to the curfew, one or two were still open but traffic was slow. One was clearly a popular hangout for of duty equalists so that was out of the question. This one though was interesting, several suspicious figures seemed to enter and she felt this was the one to investigate further. She had to be careful though, she maybe on their side but she doubted they will see it that way.

She sighed climbed down from her perch. She ruffled her hair and wrapped her cloak more tightly around her and gave her self a haggard look before approaching the tavern and entering slowly and carefully. "I am sorry, are you lot still open... I rather not be outside at a time like this..."She said to those inside. She gave a look of fear as she scanned the room as if unsure as if to trust the people inside. She let her cloak slip a little, showing her dancer uniform. "I have been made to work late and my hire didnt give me a curfew pass."

" Didnt I just say not to call me Ms. Zhou. I am not that old." Adrien said as yet another person comes into her tavern at the last minute. Adrien thinks for a minute as she plays with her hair.

Adrien smiles and says " come in, come in and close that door and switch the sign to close. We dont have alot of room left and if I keep accepting people I wont have a bed to sleep in. "Adrien said half joking and half serious. Her tavern only had a few rooms upstairs and one was hers. Toru often sleeps in his workshop. She had offer him a room once and never got an answer.

Adrien still playing with her hair. " okay here is the deal. Either you can pay or work for me. I always need wait staff, dish washers and cooks. For everyday you work food and your room are free. Loki bring sister tomorrow. I have the prefect job for her. Now hurry home and use the alley ways." Adrien said with cheery smile. She wanted to make sure everyone was comfortable before seeing Toru.

Loki smiled at Ms.Zhou's comment about her name but otherwise said nothing. When she mentioned bringing his sister he dipped his head in a nod of thanks before turning back to the door. A woman then entered looking tired and scared. The smile on his face dimmed down considerably as he saw her. "Good night." He called to everyone inside the tavern before nodding to the Dancer before him then making his way out into the streets. As soon as he left he began to run down the alley he'd come from earlier. He really needed to get home quickly. He sighed internally to himself for being so late. He tried to give himself more speed as a sense of urgency fell over him at the thought of being caught out late at night.

Even though there was nothing about him to suggest he was a bender or nonbender he didn't want to risk being stopped by an equalist agent. He suddenly collided harshly with someone as he was distracte by his thoughts. He fell back to the ground and his bags of food for his family scattered around him but stayed intact.
He stood up hurriedly and went to offer the other person his hand to help them up as well.
"So sorry. I was distracted trying to get home before the curfew well and truly got underway. My fault completely."

Mai gave a shy smile and bowed her in thanks before moving to obey Adrien by closing the door and flipping the sign before moving deeper into the tavern. She reached into her pocket and brought a coin purse and looking into its the contents. "I guess i might have enough for a meal but will have to work for my bed." She said in an uncertain slightly embarrassed manner. She looked around studying each person about. The proprietor seemed nice, a mother hen type which certainly made a good first impression. However, was that care just to do with her job or something else. it was harder to say about the rest, they seemed normal with no one seemingly acting suspicious to her presence.

She moved to sit down on a chair nearby, she was unsure whether it was wise to order something or wait to make ideal about what she was going to get. She spends a few seconds trying to figure out what to say. "You have a great place here, Miss...Sorry i heard you dislike the title just being nice... Eh, I am suprise there is a place open and busy like this now.." She said to the proprietor. "Dont you have trouble from the... Authorities?"

Jin could feel the tension in the air as he strolled through the shadier part of Republic City. It was palpable. Curfew had only just set in and the streets were already eerily quiet. Jin frowned. It reminded him all too much of the worst parts of home. Innocent people shuttered up inside their own houses, fearful of another bending outburst. He only hoped that the sight of his equalist uniform would provide some sort of solace to any onlooker - anyone peeking out from behind closed curtains, anyone peering through the cracks in boarded-up windows.

Despite the atmosphere, Jin could hardly contain his excitement. He formally joined the equalist movement when he arrived in Republic City seven months ago, but since then he hasn’t had any real chance to make the impact he wanted to make. He was stuck carrying out the more boring jobs that were typical for recruits like himself - scouting out potential bending targets and staking-out suspected bending hideouts for hours on end. But from today on, things would be different. From today on, he would be taking orders from someone new. Jin had never met her before, but he had heard plenty of stories from fellow equalists. She was a de-facto lieutenant who had a reputation for leaving dead benders in her wake. Jin was eager to see what they could achieve together.

Jin arrived on the scene just as the fire bender was being dragged off by the police. He looked upwards to the apartment building, now entirely engulfed entirely in a bright orange flame billowing thick black clouds of smoke. A few feet outside the surviving residents had gathered, looking on helplessly as the fire swallowed their homes, their loved ones and their lives. It was a sight he had seen all too frequently, at home and Republic City alike.

Amongst all the chaos, one person caught Jin’s eye. Her calm, commanding demeanor was a stark contrast to the surrounding confusion and fear. He knew it had to be Hati. Jin took a moment to compose himself, pushing the atrocity he had just witnessed to the back of his mind for the moment. He stepped up to Hati and the small group of equalists she commanded, clearing his throat loudly as he did to announce his appearance.

“Ma’am” Jin announced, peeling off his equalist mask and bowing.

“I was told to report to you. My name’s Jin Feng.”

It had been only a few weeks since Getan joined the new cell of the Benders Underground. The leader seemed too kind and caring for the job. It helps when you're taking in victims of the so-called equalizing, but not when you're fighting a revolution. Maybe he was just antsy from lack of action, but it felt like they weren't doing anything. If they were planning for something, he was being kept out of the loop so far. This wasn't like his last command. His previous cell was more structured and organized; he was out doing things for the cause. He needed something more than listening to propaganda on the radio every night, before heading up to serve food to whatever stumbles through the door that day.

As Getan's mind wandered into his troubled life as he dreamed, he sputtered out a cough. It was getting hot. A scream jolted him awake. His eyes snapped open, but almost immediately shut as he rubbed the stinging pain from them. "What in the spirits" name is going on?" he mumbled groggily. He forced his eyes open again, with tears dripping across his cheeks. There was a flicker of light dancing across the floor. "Fuck."

He raced to grab some clothes, gear, and a few personal belongings. He went as fast as he could, but not soon enough. The ceiling next to the door crumbled, letting flames in like a hungry pack of dogs. He bolted for the window, still half-dressed, throwing a dagger into the side of the neighboring building and using it to swing onto its wall.

The fire was snowballing, and whatever authorities the equalists hadn't destroyed wouldn't be able to put it out or save the ones trapped inside. Getan couldn't help but scold himself for what he was about to do. He flung himself over to the next building using his hooked knives, digging it into the wall, and dropping his things to the alleyway beneath him. He could see shadows in one of the windows. Using his elbow, he shattered the glass, reached in, and shouted at whoever was inside to grab on. It was a couple huddled over a body. It looked like someone had died of smoke inhalation. They looked up and reached out, but there was no time. It started as a small squeak of the floorboards and ended with the floor collapsing underneath them.

As the floor went, so did the wall and Getan. He landed on his shoulder with a reasoning crack. He shouted and cursed, and hoped that the roar of the flames would drown him out well enough. The building was still somewhat standing, but there wasn't anything left for him to do. Getan clutched his arm to his side like the wounded animal he was, gathered his things, and slung a ragged cloak over his back. He could make it to Adrian's if he were quick. It was going to be a long night.

Hati watched as the bender was taken into custody and and fire fighters started to finally get to fight the blaze, if the arsonist had not been a bender the fire would not be so bad. It was as this was happening that an Equalist arrived apparently he was the rookie that had been assigned to her squad. Hati did not like the idea of being a teacher she was a person of action not thought. Hati had enough issues thinking about herself she didn't need more problems thinking about another. Still this was something that was out of her hands the assignment would last until she said he was ready or she said he wasn't wroth training. She did notice him make one mistake at least it was a mistake while in an open location during these riots, he took off his mask. He also said his name the equalists wore their clothing for many reasons and one was to keep who they were at least somewhat secret from your average bender. If a bender saw your face on duty they might find you off duty and attack.

" Your first mistake never take off your mask when on duty." Hati said her tone as cold as one might expect from her reputation among equalists. "Put it back on and we can move out soon we have a lot of work this night"

Adrien went into the kitchen. With the sound of banging pots and pans. Adrien quickly return with two big plates of food. " that probably the last bit of your money. just go shopping with me tomorrow and do what I say. " adrien said as she drop off one of the plates in front of the young girl and the other in front of the boy. " please talk among yourself. I have an errand down stairs to do.

Adrien went into the kitchen and got another big plate of food and some hot tea. She then went to the cellar door and lightely kick a hidden switch near the base. "You should really go up and eat something with the guests Toru. We got a full tavern today. " Adrien said as she drop the good on an empty spot in front of him.

Toru did not seem disturbed when Adrien entered the room, he did not react at all simply continuing to tinker with the device he was working one. This was normal for him, his mind as it was. Being easily distracted he had trouble taking care of himself such socializing, eating and even answering the call of nature at times. He simply sat the working, moving from one device to another.

"Full tavern in Anniversary Curfew...Isnt that strange?" He finally spoke up. "Would be nice to go up there getting a litt stuff...Stuffing...Insulating material in housing to prevent Heat loss...What chemicals though? Hmm.... Insulations suit... Suit with threaded metal whire leading to shoes... Alternate route for currrent from Equalist Teasers... What did you bring to eat?" He said quickly moving from one piece of paper starting to draw something then moved to another paper.

Adrien listen closely but the only bit she understood was about what food she brought down."The house special." Adrien said but the true is she changes the special to what ever she has more of. This time being fish from around republic city season with local herbs and vegetables. It wasn't as good as in the northern water tribe but it still good. "Just try it, toru." Doing her best to do a pouty face, before switching to a more serious face and asking " Did you hear that the equalist capture more benders today?"
