[div class=tag]backstory[/div]Ricky was born into a fairly well off family. Her parents were lawyers that rarely had time for their children. This fostered a close knit relationship with ricky and her younger brother, Jeremiah. there was only a few years age difference between them. they often took care of each other because their parents were too busy to even give them the time of day. they assumed that because they provided ample financial care for their kids that it would be ok. the divide only made Ricky and Jeremy more detached from their parents so that when they were around they almost had a relationship closer to that of coworkers than parental figures. family dinners felt like meetings and the vacations, though lavish and expensive, were still spent with ricky and jeremy keeping each other entertained while their parents retreated to the bars.

during her teenage years, ricky played sports and found solace in nature. she hated being cooped up in their empty home, even when she did have jeremy's company. the empty house just reminded her how little her parents actually cared. she distanced herself a little from her brother and retreated to the woods surrounding their home. for months she started coming home less and less, instead she spent her time in the woods. she would bring books and climb trees to listen to the sounds of the wildlife. jeremy sometimes wandered after her and would join her, when she didn't give him a hard time that it. Jeremy loved his sister profusely and it was hard feeling like he was losing his only family.

one day when ricky was hiking through the woods, with the intent of not coming home until early the next morning, and she suddenly found herself in a part of the woods that she didn't recognize. the fog was thick around her and her flashlight barely pierced through it, making her panic. where before the woods felt safe and familiar to her, they now felt wild and unfamiliar. She stumbled through the fog until she came out at the entrance to Southfield and is now doing everything she can to figure out the town's mystery and escape back to her brother.

HISTORY

Backstory:
Coming from New-York, Brooke only knew the city. The concrete forest, if you will. She'd never left the city, and was quite content with it. Having a happy family life and a healthy school life, she had all she ever wanted. That was, until her grandmother passed away. Her father was more devastated than her mother, since his own mother had died. He sadly fell into a depression, and their income had started getting strained. They'd already saved a lot of money for her college tuition and a car, so that money was never touched. During high school, her father was constantly at home, irritated, tired and distraught. It had been years since he was happy.

Brooke took up volleyball and jogging to clear her mind from her family situation worsening. Her parents argued more, fought more, and one day, her father couldn't take it and hung himself in the living room. Brooke's mother was working the night shift, and she had volleyball practise, so she was the one who stumbled onto the scene. She fell on the floor, and was it not for a neighbour hearing her, the police would've gotten there much later. What was a happy home, a joyful apartment, was now an empty shell of a memory. Brooke and her mother moved into another apartment, a little bit farther than where they lived before. The rent was a bit more affordable, and life carried on as usual. At the age of 16, Brooke got her driver's license, and her new car. Over the next 3 years, her mother had completely changed. Broken, tired, sad, angry.. Angry at life, at the world. The situation got so bad, that at the age of 19, Brooke just packed her things and left, never to look back on what her life was.

What brings you to Southfield:
Brooke didn't plan on staying in Southfield for long. She just happened to drive by the town. Her car was half packed with things, and she desperately needed to find a gas station. Thankfully, her GPS showed her a small nearby town. She was only supposed to stay an hour, two max. But as life would have it, it wasn't going to be that way. As soon as she entered the thick fog, she'd signed a contract she couldn't back up on.

Extra:
-Brooke's favourite colour is yellow
-She often straightens her hair since she prefers it that way

Family:
-Monica Cohen (Grandmother - Deceased)
-Darryl Cohen (Father - Deceased)
-Juliet Cohen (Mother - Alive)

Not thinking it would matter to them after that, Charlotte ran from home.

BASIC
Name: Cleo Angell - Goes by Angel Rivers
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Ethnicity: Russian-American

PHYSICAL
Brief Description: Lanky, often has bruises on her bony limbs. She stands at 5'7
Usual attire: Durable fabrics, denim, and a flannel usually do the trick.
Equipment: She washed up with a hydroflask that has a sticker affixed to the side that hangs by a long paracord strap, and rather ugly fannypack that looks a bit old and faded. Inside was a small pocket knife, it has the faded letters "Angel" scribbled on the handle, A headlamp, and a small canister of pepper spray. It seems that there was a granola bar in the fanny pack at one point but has been eaten. By whom? hmmm

PERSONAL
Personality:
Energetic:
Angel always seems to be on. Once Angel wakes up she's doing something: cleaning, running, cooking, whittling, adventuring around. She can't keep still.
Curious:
Angel can't seem to leave a stone unturned. If it didn't involve sitting down and typing so damn much she could have been a great journalist.
Altruistic:
Perhaps it's her own disregard for her own safety but Angel has always found it easier to take care of others. She loves the smile on another person's eyes when she can manage something kind for them.
Adaptable:
The most important skill of an athlete, the ability to get over the blisters, the bruises, the soreness, and the pain. Angel is able to become accustomed to new situations faster than those around her, used to using it as a weapon.
Frugal:
Growing up in poverty and waking up hungry most days Angel knows how to stretch out her supplies making them last. The other side makes Angel a bit possessive of her resources, afraid no one will take care of them the way she would.
Likes:
Hot drinks
Running / Exercise
Singing (even if she isn't very good at it)
Scary stories
Dislikes:
Hospitals
Cold food
Laziness
Hobbies/Talents:
Running is her most passionate hobby
5:25 minute mile
her 5k record is 17 minutes
Angel is a fast learner if the topic can keep her attention
Health Ailments:
N/a

HISTORY
Backstory: Angel Rivers, born Cleo Angell, seemed to be always wound up. Even as she grew out of childhood when her parents thought she might grow out of her energy Cleo seemed boundless. Her parents attempted to guide her into sports which she excelled at but fell in love the most with running. After years of unfocused energy Cleo's life finally felts stabilized as she gained a source for her restlessness. She gained real friends, friendly competitors and even a boyfriend or two. In high school, Cleo became a bit of a star after she got into the national competitions. This most recent summer Cleo and her parents were convinced by a shady "coach" to train for the Olympics. Although she trained day and night her skills never got better and her times suffered for it. Enraged her parents couldn't see that they were being scammed Cleo stopped training with the coach and began training on her own. She's been seen lately spending her days in the surrounding woods training near the river.
What brings you to Southfield: Cleo on one of her days spent training in the wooded areas and (stupidly) running near the river lost her footing and fell into the flowing waters and was swept away. Cleo was washed far from home and bashed her head a good many times against river rocks. She awoke washed up in Southfield. Dazed and confused with no immediate memory of how she got there. Not remembering anything and feeling a bit panicked she struggled to figure out what was going on. Trying to piece the recent events together Cleo misread her pocket knife she kept in her running bag, the faded sharpie letters reading "ANGEL".

Usual attire:
Most of her outfits are comfort-centric, consisting of sweat pants and tight crop top shirts. Less often, she wears sweaters and skinny jeans. She owns a frustrating amount of crocs.

Equipment:
- Hand mirror
- Umbrella
- Excedrin
- Her keys, with keys to her house and car, as well as a small charm in the shape of a scarab beetle.

PERSONAL

Personality
Romantic: Eddie’s every action is fueled by her overwhelmingly romantic heart. She sees the absolute best in everyone, and once she gets close, her rose-colored glasses blind her to any red flags that arise. She’s also incredibly sentimental and tends to hang on to things she has a past with, even if they hurt her.
Friendly: Eddie can get along with pretty much anyone; she’s empathetic and has a natural charm to her. She’s also flirtatious and often doesn’t even realize when she’s flirting.
Peacemaker: Ed absolutely hates conflict and tries to resolve it when she sees it happening; she does her best to break up fights even when she gets a bit roughed up herself.
Balanced: Ed does her best to have a balanced life; she always considers both sides of the argument, making her both diplomatic and incredibly indecisive. When she actually makes a decision you can be it’s been well thought-out. This can lead her to be naturally apprehensive and fearful.
People-pleaser: Since Eddie hates confrontation, she often does whatever she can to satisfy others and tends to give others too many chances. This is the reason she prefers to keep all of her negative emotions bottled up to avoid forcing others to care about her instead of focusing on themselves.
Procrastinator: She doesn’t have the best work ethic and tends to put things off until she can’t anymore.

Likes:
Being outdoors, helping others out, animals, taking her time, anything luxurious, exercise. She’s quite feminine and likes anything girly.

Dislikes:
Selfishness, greediness, deadlines, feeling isolated, competitive people. Not a fan of math or surprises.

Hobbies/Talents:
Eddie’s composition and prudence serves her well when she plays in her school’s Archery team.

She has a fondness for nature and therefore is deeply spiritual; she keeps charms and talismans around her room, believing they provide her with good luck, occasionally praying to them for guidance.

She sure as shit knows how to keep a plant alive.

Health Ailments:
Eddie doesn’t have any serious issues, but she’s prone to serious migraines.

Backstory:
Eddie was born October 11th in Arizona to an already broken family; she had an older brother already in high school by the time she arrived, who constantly fought with their bipolar mother. Her mother was once a therapist, having retired prematurely after giving birth to Ed. She developed post-natal psychosis that never fully went away, but she was still somewhat of a functional parent to her children. Her father was just as gullible and spiritual as she is, and after Ed was discovered to have late-stage hydrocephalus a month after being born, he blew every dollar he had on getting her better. Not only did he pay for every single surgery and test, he also bought thousands of dollars worth of candles and luck charms from nearby Navajo shamans, as well as from multiple other religions, anything he could get his hands on that would supposedly cure his infant daughter. His spiritualism and Ed’s medical bills became so expensive they had to move into a small house in the desert, one they never ended up moving out of. Whether it was medicine or divine intervention, Eddie was eventually cured at the age of 2; at this point, her parents had only been staying together for their two messed-up kids, and decided to split up while still living in the same house. Once they started getting money back that they lost on Ed, they sent her away to a boarding school at the age of 6, just to give her a shred of normalcy in her life. When she was 9, she started developing vitiligo on her hands, and her older brother had gone away to be an apprentice to an architect in New Mexico.

On her 14th birthday, she was pulled out of school by her brother, not even aware he had come back home to Arizona. She soon found out via him that her mother was in the hospital, in stable condition after a suicide attempt. That day onwards, he moved them both into their late grandmother’s farmhouse together. Her brother, ever secretive, never provided an explanation for this interruption of her education besides their mother's attempt and 'personal issues' back in New Mexico. For a year she worked in the sleepy town over working in a bakery, plus taking care of the armadillos on her grandmother's farm. A year after, she returned to public school as a sophomore. She'd never been close to her mother in the first place due to her mental illness making her distant, and the whole experience was more like a fever dream than something that actually happened to her.

Extra:
She's currently estranged from her mother, who's currently living in a psychiatric group home, and is in constant contact with her father.

What brings you to Southfield:
Her and her brother were taking a train trip to New York to visit family (and for a much-needed vacation); all Ed remembers is blacking out in the bathroom, then waking up to an empty train parked in an empty station. She had no idea what to do, her phone no longer working, so she just walked until she found something: Southfield.
