The Active Inactive
Once upon a time, there was a kingdom named Aurur. And in this kingdom, there lived a prince. You see, this prince was very handsome, sought after by all the maidens in the kingdom. Kind and gentle he was, but outside of the kingdom he did not matter very much. His father was the important one, in charge of all the important matters. He was a good king. As strong king. He was the one in charge, not the prince. Many men sought after the king, but for very different reasons than those of the bedazzled young women that chased after the prince's heart. The prince wanted to be more important, but he knew he wasn't quite ready to lead the kingdom, or lead the charges against the evil forces that were the Undead.
Skeletons, ghouls, ghosts, and all sorts of horrors attempted to reach the castle day and night. They were not hard to kill, and weak in comparison to the trained soldiers. Spirits in the kingdom failed to drop, and the war became something for conspirators to guess about, but no more than a laughable chatter topic for the people of Aurur.
This was not to be for long.
Suddenly, trained soldiers began to fall in battle. It began slowly, perhaps one killed man every few days where there once were none. Then, one per day. Soon, a dozen fell every day. The war dragged on for months, then years. Aurur slowly began to fall, a rush of conscripts slowly dying down as streets began to empty, barracks began to empty, and graves began to be filled. Children lost their fathers, women lost their spouses, fathers lost their sons. Despair spread quickly.
This, too, was not a permanent state.
(This next bit is what happens just before and during the first post when the RP starts)
The Undead stopped. Forming an impenetrable barrier of fallen creatures around the kingdom instead, they appeared able to choke the last bit of life out of the kingdom. This continues for three days. Then, someone approaches the gates.
