Animalia Magicka

Durvhariin lay curled and nestled in a nest of soft fur blankets provided by the Familiar Rescue. He had been tremendously hurt when he arrived, barely clinging to life, but now was almost back to good health. He mostly kept to himself, only interacting with the other familiars and caretakers when necessary. He knew he would have to leave soon, though, the Wizard trying to extinguish animal magic was still out there, and Durvahriin felt it was his responsibility to stop him.

It would be a lot for a tiny wyvern to do, but he had to. It was his duty and his alone. He didn't dare share the burden with anyone else after what happened...

He would leave at midnight, he decided, snuggling deeper into the furs as he tried to get as much rest as he could. He had to prepare for the long journey to come. Who knows when he'd have a safe place to sleep after this.

Ricotta

The Endless Spire was one of the two highest spot in the entire facility, the other one being The Thunderstruck Trunk. It's basically just a really tall pillar that tower over everything else, its said that the founder of the facility raised it with magic as a foundation for a great construction project, sadly his backache acted up and he never had the chance to finish it, or maybe he just forgot, who knows. Nowadays, this place was a popular spot with several familiars fight over who can sit on it for the rest of the week. This week was supposed to be Bob's turn, he's a grand dragon who won the last match through sheer power. Though when he tried to land on the pillar he realized he was too big for it, so Ricotta had a great idea and traded the right to use The Endless Spire for the week with three piece of cakes that she stole from the staff's kitchen. Such an easy task for her.

Now she was sitting on the spire, overlooking a large portion of Dawning Sanctuary all at once like a king. She could see the twin horsey bickering over who get to eat the last carrot. Pirri the white cat going around marking all the caretakers as her properties like usual. Or the Crow Cartel flying around together, probably looking for someone to annoy again. The cartel was kind of a bully so she didn't want to get involved with them, halfheartedly she got off from the pillar to avoid being seen. On her way down, she caught a glimpse of the recovery hut and immediately recalled of some familiars that might still be there. If they had recover, this might be her time to pay them a visit. Ricotta quickly went back to her next, took two round-shaped objects with her before heading towards the recovery building.

It was very easy for her to snuck in, she simply bends the light away from her fur and turned almost invisible. Inside were dozens of beddings for wounded familiars to rest. Most of them were empty but there's a wyvern sleeping in one of it. The fae dragon knew that he was already here for some time so his wounds should have been healed, right? It's fine for her to recruit him right? Landing next to the wyvern, Ricotta raised her voice.

"Hello, sleepyhead! Wake up!" Ricotta hopped on the blanket enthusiastly. She threw a ripe grape at the wyvern.

"Eat up. I got it from the kitchen so it should taste good."

"Now that I get your attention. Allow me to introduce myself, people usually calls me all kind of thing. Like The Lightning Counter, The King in Yellow, or The Vanishing Phantom, but you, you can just call me Ricotta, or Rico." That was, of course, exaggeration. No one called her with such titles.

"As the leader of the Famiscout Expedition Group. I'm officially offering you a chance to become one of our precious member." A glowing rectangle made of light suddenly appeared between them. Its shape evoke the sillhouette of an open parchment, but nothing actually written on it. "We are a well-coordinated group dedicated on having fun and helping others. We also give invaluable badges to our member to encourage them doing good deeds."

Ricotta showed Durvhariin the other object she had been carrying. It's a peanut, encased in a hardened red amber.

"Actually, if you join right now I will grant you this badge. Its a badge that symbolize one's preparation to snatch the opportunity for greatness and the eagerness to help others in need." She explained with literal glitters of light flickering around her.

Thethuthinnang grumbles deeply, beyond displeased that the quiet, tranquil atmosphere of the recovery hut had been disturbed so much. The large Bengal Tiger lifts his weary head, squinting his golden eyes at the small yellow blur who was making far too much racket for its small stature. Thu yawns, flashing his long fangs in an unintentionally threatening display.

The recovery hut was typically a relaxing place, less sophisticated than the more sterile hospital unit, and far more down to Thethuthinnang’s speed. With smooth mud walls, sunlight-soaked terracotta floors, and a warm hearth by the far wall. It was also the place where the human workers and caretakers frequented the least, allowing the familiars within to properly relax and finish up the last stretch of their healing.

The Bengal Tiger Familiar might not know what time it was—besides knowing that it was day due to the warm sun filtering in through the window and warming his striped fur—but he did know that it was always too early in the morning for such chaos.

"Please speak softer...”

He says, unable to completely remove the growling undertone in his voice. It wasn’t said cruelly, but there is a definite air of displeasure as he speaks. He rests his furred chin on the edge of his bed, licking his dry lips as his body reluctantly comes out of his coma-like slumber. Said slumber was dreamless, thankfully, but Thu had no idea how long it had lasted. Due to his rumbling stomach, it had likely been a day or so since his last coherency. Not his longest sleep by any means, but still not necessarily healthy or normal.

It was good that Thu was mostly healed; the Tiger was rather eager to get away from the familiar sanctuary, no matter how respectful and ultimately rather helpful the workers were. They’d always be human. They’d always make Thu recoil, always send a shiver down his spine, and always make his hackles rise in defense. No matter how objectively good they were, it would never really be enough for Thu. And, thankfully, they seemed to realize that.

Doe laid curled up on his bed not too far from Ricotta and Durvahariin. Sunlight was filtering through the window by his pillow, pleasantly warming his fur. As much as he wanted to fully embrace the warmth of the sun, the small tabby didn't exactly feel... safe letting his guard down yet. He had only arrived a week ago, though healing magic had done wonders to heal his injuries, that didn't change his lack of trust in the humans and familiars that lived here. Not that they had been mean to him, far from it actually, most of them were very nice. It was just he was... very out of his league. Everyone here was capable of powerful magic, meanwhile, Doe was just. a cat. a very ordinary street cat. He wasnt a familiar, and that was the problem. He shouldnt be here. They were convinced he was something he was not, and he couldnt tell them the truth.

He was taking up space. Thats why he needed to leave. Hopefully tonight.

Doe jumped when he heard Ricotta shout. Even if it wasnt directed at him, the noise was still enough to scare him right out of the bed, Doe's back foot slipped off the edge and he tumbled to floor. The cat sat up with a small groan, a bruise on his side began to throb, the stubborn remenant of his previous injuries. Magic couldnt fix everything, apparently. Looks like he still had some healing to do on his own.

The infirmary usually wasn't noisy, so all of the voices and racket made the dragon resting outside in the grass curious. The infirmary was big, sure, but it still felt uncomfortable to the Loong recovering from starvation and some minor wounds. Aven didn't speak much to the other familiars, despite wanting friends and company, they were at the end of the day still all strangers. Some of them had eyes that somewhat scared Aven, like they saw bad things and held onto that..

Lifting his head, Aven nosed the infirmary window open so he could peek inside. "I-..is everything alright..? It's very noisy.." He asked. Aven was a soft-spoken dragon so there was a chance no one would even hear his voice over all of the racket.

The soft mews of her siblings as they cried out for food, laying next to their once mother. Hungry, cold, and tired. They kept mewing and mewing until, one day, a figure appeared. A lovely witch who took them in, fed them, and over time, they left one by one. For a moment everything faded to black before turning a deep red in Onyx's vision, pain coursing through their body as they struggled to stand, looking over to that lovely witch, also fighting to stand on her own two legs, facing off a large monster that was terrorizing a village they were in. Then the sudden surge of magic fell over them, she tried to run to help their master, their owner, their loyal, but every step they took brought her further and further away until, nothing.

Onyx jumped away, an intense panic and fear overcoming them for a moment, remembering how they ended up here, at the familiar rescue. It was just a dream. She sighed heavily, standing on her paws, ears twitching slightly at the loud noises, the soft moss bed they were in messier than usual. Onyx was considered new, and was still in recovery, inches away from death when her loyal saved her once more. These recent days, she had been having these awful nightmares, only growing more and more concerned about her loyal, hoping they too made it out alive, and needed to go find them. Familiars were on the decline but her loyal was part of the small human group who were trying to fight against it, as well as do her normal adventuring. She was lovely and Onyx dedicated every breath to her. She went to her window, her round eyes peering around to figure out what the noise was all about. Seeing nothing, it must be something within the recovery building. Stretching out her body, Onyx carefully made her way out of her small room, to where the larger creatures' room were.

Onyx was a small breed of cat, but it made her all the better at sneaking around. While she wasn't banned from moving around, Onyx should still be resting in bed more often than not, however, Onyx was never one to really listen to rules, slipping easily into the shadows made from the early morning light, appearing in an empty room that was near Durvhariin, looking around, before slipping into the shadows once again. It took a few times of appearing and disappearing before they ended up in the wyvern's room, eyes landing on Ricotta, still in the shadowy corners of the room, listening, watching, observing what was happening.

Only once she caught the tail end of the conversation did Onyx step out of the shadows, quietly stepping around before sitting down next to the Wyvern and the grasp, gently pawing at the round fruit, knocking one out of the room, and her tail curling around her paws.

"Had to cone figure out why it was so noisy. Hope you all don't mind me walking in."

Durvahriin hissed at Ricotta as she startled him awake. Why did she have to be such a pest?!
And then more and more spoke up, making the likelihood of going back to sleep very slim.
"Be quiet! This isn't the place for games, Ricotta." He spat her name, glaring at her.
"You have not only disturbed me from my rest, but many others with your racket! Go away!" Durvahriin snarled, flaring his wings in what was intended to be a threatening display. It would probably work, since Ricotta was also fairly small, but on a larger creature? Not likely.
Using his telekinesis, he ripped the 'badge' from Ricotta's grasp and threw it out of sight.

Ricotta
Location: Infirmary

"It's okay, everyone. Everything is good, and don't forget to contact the Famiscout Expedition Group if you need helps!" She definitely didn't expect to cause this much noise, but hey, more attention for her! She can advertise her little group more. Though, the wyvern that she wanted to recruit didn't seems amused by her offer and throw the badge away.

"Noo... The peanuts. I will save you, son." Ricotta tried to grab the floating amber but missed her chance. The amber rolled to the next room and she chase it down to what appears to be the medicine room. The medicine cabinets were locked to prevent someone taking it without permission but Rico's attention was drawn by the various health charts hanging on the wall.

"H... H-E.. H-E-A-L-T-H. Health! Ohhh, master. I still remember how to read!" She said to herself while hopping excitedly in front of the chart.

"R-E-P-O-R-T. Report!" Ohh, her master would be so proud when he came back from his very important mission. She still remember all the things he teached her.

A familiar feeling suddenly crept into her mind, its like a subtle voice deep from her subconscious trying to ask her something. How many years had she been here? Who knows? She stopped counting after 10. Now stop asking. She intended to keep waiting for her master until he picks her up.

"Ohh, ohh. Puzzle." Desperate to distract herself from such thought. Rico's attention was now drawn by a large padlock that secure one of the cabinet and start fiddling with it.

Doe's ears flattened against his head and he winced at Durvah's angry snarl. He watched as something flew over his head and rolled to the next room. His wide green eyes looked up towards the top of the bed, the fur on Doe's back remained on end. He was clearly bothered by Durvah's reaction. He didn't really want to jump back up there after hearing him be so angry, even if it wasn't directed at him. He looked in the direction the little dragon had gone. His gaze softened, she seemed... young, he felt bad. She was just excited.. Doe stood up and trotted after her.
He stopped at the doorframe, watching the small dragon as she fiddled with... something she definitely shouldnt be.
"H-Hey! uh, i dont think you should be messin' with that.."
He said, leaping up on top of the cabinet Ricotta was playing with. He didnt want her to get in trouble...
Wait he probably shouldn't be in here either... What if he got in trouble?! Argh, they really needed to get out of here!

Ricotta - Spoiled Bread Spoiled Bread

The tiger sighs once more. From where his bed is seated, he can very clearly see the mischievous Ricotta begin to fiddle with something she very much shouldn’t be messing with. That was not his problem, though, and he was still very much still tired.

His golden eyes remain cracked open as he burrows his body down into the mess of heavy blankets and straw that made up his rather comfy bed. Thethuthinnang casts a glance over to his reluctant acquaintance and prickly recovery neighbor, Durvahriin.

“Can’t you spit some venom at them all or something?” He says through another long yawn, only partly joking. Thu didn’t really wish the other familiars ill, but he certainly would rather they take their rapidly growing and highly annoying party elsewhere so he could sleep.

Aven

The aggressive tone of the little wyvern definitely made the loong's ears droop. He didn't do well with aggression from humans or familiars.. Seeing the other tiny dragon skitter off somewhere that definitely wasn't allowed to be meddled with, he grew even more nervous. Nervous enough to let his intent take over.

Pupils glowing white, Aven reached out with telekinesis to pick up Ricotta and pull the little dragon out of the room with all the medicines. "P-please don't poke where you're not allowed.." He trailed, gently setting the colorful little thing somewhere soft before his pupils returned to normal.

Onyx found herself watching silently, her tiny round eyes scanning the room before landing on Aven glowing white eyes, looking at where he is looking to see Ricotta being pulled back. She stood up and trotted over to where Ricotta was, closing the cabinet that the other was trying to dig into before trotting back into the room, easily able to disappear into the shadow corners of the room before appearing next to the dragon, jumping up onto the window sill.

The others seemed less than pleased at the ruckus but really, the small feline couldn't care much, beginning to climb her way onto the dragon, disappearing in the fluff of the large dragon before poking her head out at the top of the head.

"Everyone everyone, there is no need to be so harsh! You're all just grumpy, I'm going to get food if anyone wants to come with you, and Ricotta,"
she meowed, glancing at everyone who had appeared before her eyes landed on the fae dragon.
"If you want, I'd like to hear more...guess you could say I have a bit of a mission to go on and could use your help perhaps."

Her ears flicked slightly before she sunk back down into the fluffiness of Aven, and used him as a ladder to go down and reach the ground. From there she would begin to make her way to the kitchen, only wincing slightly from not fully recovered injuries from when she first arrived.
